3Effective adsorption of sulfamethoxazole, bisphenol A and methyl orange on nanoporous carbon derived from metal-organic frameworks显示文摘Nanoporous carbons(NPCs) derived from metal–organic frameworks(MOFs) are attracting increasing attention in many areas by virtue of their high specific surface area, large pore volume and unique porosity. The present work reports the preparation of an NPC with high surface area(1731 m^2/g) and pore volume(1.68 cm^3/g) by direct carbonization of MOF-5. We examined the adsorption of three typical contaminants from aqueous solutions, i.e., sulfamethoxazole(SMX),bisphenol A(BPA) and methyl orange(MO), by using the as-prepared NPC. The results demonstrated that NPC could adsorb the contaminants effectively, with adsorption capacity(qm) of 625 mg/g(SMX), 757 mg/g(BPA) and 872 mg/g(MO), respectively. These values were approximately 1.0-3.2 times higher than those obtained for single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs) and commercial powder active carbon(PAC) under the same conditions. With its high surface area and unique meso/macropore structure, the enhanced adsorption of NPC most likely originates from the cooperative interaction of a pore-filling mechanism, electrostatic interaction,and hydrogen bonding. In particular, the p H value has a crucial impact on adsorption, suggesting the significant contribution of electrostatic interaction between NPC and the contaminants. 4LncR NA H19 and Target Gene-mediated Cleft Palate Induced by TCDD显示文摘This study investigated the role of long non‐coding RNAs(lnc RNAs) in the development of the palatal tissues. Cleft palates in mice were induced by 2,3,7,8‐tetrachlorodibenzo‐p‐dioxin(TCDD). Expression levels of long non‐coding RNA H19(lncR NA H19) and insulin‐like growth factor 2(IGF2) gene were measured by quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction(q RT‐PCR). The rate of occurrence of cleft palate was found to be 100% by TCDD exposure, and TCDD could cause short upper limb, cerebral fissure, webbed neck, and short neck. The expression levels of lnc RNA H19 and IGF2 gene specifically showed embryo age‐related differences on E13, E14, and E15 in the palatal tissues. The expression levels of lnc RNA H19 and IGF2 gene showed an inverse relationship on E13, E14, and E15. 8A Review of Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Studies of Motor and Cognitive Function in Preterm Infants显示文摘Preterm infants are vulnerable to brain injuries,and have a greater chance of experiencing neurodevelopmental disorders throughout development. Early screening for motor and cognitive functions is critical to assessing the developmental trajectory in preterm infants, especially those who may have motor or cognitive deficits. The brain imaging technology functional near-infrared spectroscopy(fNIRS) is a portable and low-cost method of assessing cerebral hemodynamics, making it suitable for large-scale use even in remote and underdeveloped areas. In this article, we review peer-reviewed, scientific f NIRS studies of motor performance, speech perception, and facial recognition in preterm infants. f NIRS provides a link between hemodynamic activity and the development of brain functions in preterm infants. 10Shock wave-boundary layer interactions control by plasma aerodynamic actuation显示文摘This study demonstrates the potential for shock wave-boundary layer interaction control in air by plasma aerodynamic actuation.Experimental investigations on shock wave-boundary layer interactions control by plasma aerodynamic actuation are conducted in a Mach 3 in-draft air tunnel.Schlieren imaging shows that the discharges cause the oblique shock to move forward.Schlieren imaging and static pressure probes also show that separation phenomenon shifts backward and the size of separation is enlarged when plasma aerodynamic actuation is applied.The intensity of shock wave is weakened through wall pressure probe.Furthermore,numerical investigations on shock wave-boundary layer interactions control are conducted with plasma aerodynamic actuation.The discharge is modeled as a steady volumetric heat source which is integrated into the energy equation.The input energy level is about 7 kW through discharge process.Results show that the separation phenomenon shifts backward and the intensity of shock is reduced with plasma actuation.These numerical results are consistent with the experimental results.SUN Quan LI YingHong CUI Wei CHENG BangQin LI Jun DAI Hui 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,7:4

12Effects of Cerium on Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Zn-22%Al Vibration Damping Alloy显示文摘Using natural aging and artificial aging treatment, the effects of cerium on microstructures and mechanical properties of Zn 22%Al vibration damping alloy were studied by optical microscope, transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope. The results show that cerium can refine the microstructure of Zn 22%Al alloy, slow the grain growth and retain the equiaxial degree during aging. 13Vegetation and climate change during Marine Isotope Stage 3 in China显示文摘Fossil pollen records from 45 sites across China were evaluated and synthesized to document vegetation and climate change during Marine Isotope Stage 3(MIS 3)at 60–27 ka and to understand the large-scale controls.During MIS3, vegetation type was dominantly forest in eastern China, forest steppe/meadow in the north and Tibetan Plateau, and steppe desert in northwestern arid China. We developed a semi-quantitative vegetation index to reflect change in plant abundance(by inferring the general climate conditions), with a vegetation score from 1to 3 based on the different vegetation types inferred from pollen data at individual sites at intervals of 2,000 years.The reconstructed vegetation index shows higher values during MIS 3, especially during the period 53–40 ka, than at the Last Glacial Maximum. Our results also suggest that climate on the basis of vegetation change was cooler and drier during MIS 3 than during the Holocene optimum;however, MIS 3 vegetation was probably similar to modern vegetation. The close relationship between vegetation change, insolation and Asian summer monsoon strength suggests that climate variations, probably in both temperature and precipitation, are the primary drivers of regional vegetation change. 14Dietary Behaviors and Influencing Factors among Rural Left-behind Children Aged below 7 Years in China显示文摘Left-behind children comprise a special population in Chinese rural areas. According to the 2007 China Census, the number of left-behind children aged ≤ 14 years was estimated at 58 million, which suggested that these children constituted a large population, especially in Chinese rural areas[1]. Till date, only a few studies have investigated the problems of dietary behaviors in rural left-behind children. A pilot study indicated that approximately 50% of left-behind children in Chinese rural areas had poor dietary behaviors[2]. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of research with large sample sizes that could reveal the actual background of dietary behaviors in these children. 15End wall effect on particle motion in a chute flow显示文摘The influence of the end wall of a chute on the rotation of internal characteristic particles is mainly on the z-axis.A measurement device based on inertial measurement technology does not require the assistance of external information;hence,it is especially suitable for measuring the angular and translational velocities of internal characteristic particles.To study the influence of the end wall of the chute on the motions of the internal characteristic particles,the z-axis rotational and translational velocities of the internal characteristic particles in the chute were measured,and it was found that the rotational velocity about the z-axis differs according to the initial position.The z-axis angular velocity of a characteristic particle at the centre fluctuates near 0,and the average value approaches 0.The z-axis angular velocity of a characteristic particle at the left end wall is typically negative.This phenomenon is due to the influence of the end wall on the rotational motions of particles with initial positions that are near the end wall.In addition,the average translational velocity of the characteristic particles is also affected by the end wall.The distributions of the average z-axis angular velocity and the average translational velocity are quantitatively analysed,and the correlation between the tilt angle of the chute and the end wall effect is studied.Ran Wang Ran Li Shuaishuai Wang Quan Chen Hui Yang 2021Particuology2021,19,1:2
16Shape of free-fall arch in quasi-2D silo显示文摘In this study,the optical flow method is used to measure the velocity distribution of a granular flow in a rectangular quasi-two-dimensional silo.Using the velocity gradient,a free-fall arch(FFA)is obtained and its geometric characteristics are calculated.A parabola-shaped FFA structure is discovered above the orifice in the steady flow state.The shape of the FFA affects the flow rate through the orifice.Furthermore,as jamming begins to occur,the geometry of the FFA disappears gradually from both sides and then from the middle;finally,the FFA disappears completely in the state of jamming.As the boundary between finite-stress and stress-free regions,the FFA facilitates further studies regarding the discontinuity of the stress area above the orifice.Qi Wang Quan Chen Ran Li Gang Zheng Ren Han Hui Yang 2021Particuology2021,19,2:2
17Selective coordination and localized polarization in graphene quantum dots: Detection of fluoride anions using ultra-low-field NMR relaxometry显示文摘The development of ultra-sensitive methods for detecting anions is limited by their low charge to radius ratios, microenvironment sensitivity, and p H sensitivity. In this paper, a magnetic sensor is devised that exploits the controllable and selective coordination that occurs between a magnetic graphene quantum dot(GQD) and fluoride anion(F–). The sensor is used to measure the change in relaxation time of aqueous solutions of magnetic GQDs in the presence of F–using ultra-low-field(118 μT) nuclear magnetic resonance relaxometry. The method was optimized to produce a limit of detection of 10 nmol/L and then applied to quantitatively detect F–in domestic water samples. More importantly, the key factors responsible for the change in relaxation time of the magnetic GQDs in the presence of F–are revealed to be the selective coordination that occurs between the GQDs and F–as well as the localized polarization of the water protons. 20Synthesis and fluorescence properties of cerium-KMgF_3 through a solvothermal process显示文摘Phosphor of KMgF_3:Ce^(3+)is synthesized through solvothermal method at 180℃and characterized by means of X-ray powder diffraction(XRD)and environment scanning electron microscopy(ESEM).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)is applied to the study of the energy band structure of KMgF_3:Ce^(3+)and confirms the oxygen content of the product is very low.The fluorescence spectra of the rare-earth ion-doped KMgF_3 is investigated by the fluorescence spectrophotometer.In the emission spectra,there is a broadband emission with a maximum center located at 306 nm arising from d-f transition of Ce^(3+)in the host.This will be useful for ultraviolet tunable lasers.Guo Xian Zhu Yong Da Li Hong Zhou Lian Jing Hui Yan Xing Quan Wang 2009Chinese Chemical Letters2009,20,1:1
