| 1 | Dense coding scheme using superpositions of Bell-states and its NMR implementation显示文摘Dense coding using superpositions of Bell-states is proposed. The generalized Grover's algorithm is used to prepare the initial entangled states, and the reverse process of the quantum algorithm is used to determine the entangled state in the decoding measurement. Compared with the previous schemes, the superpositions of two Bell-states are exploited. Our scheme is demonstrated using a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)quantum computer. The corresponding manipulations are obtained. Experimental results show a good agreement between theory and experiment. | 2 | Estimation of chlorophyll-a concentration in the Zhujiang Estuary from SeaWiFS data显示文摘The chlorophyll-a concentration is generally overestimated for the southem China coastal waters if the default algorithm of the SeaDAS is employed. An algorithm is developed for retrieval of chlorophyll-a concentration in the Zhujiang Estuary, Guangdong Province, China, by using simulated reflectance data. The simulated reflectance is calculated corresponding to the SeaWiFS wavelength bands, via a general model by inputting measured water components, I.e., the suspended sediment,chlorophyll-a, and yellow substance (DOC) concentration data of 130 samples. Empirical relationships of the chlorophyll-a concentration to 240 different band combinations are investigated based on the simulated reflectance data, and the band combination, R5R6/R3R4, is found to be the optimum one for the development of an algorithm valid for the Zhujiang Estuary. This algorithm is then employed to determine the chlorophyll-a concentration from SeaWiFS data. The estimated concentrations have a better accuracy than those obtained from the SeaDAS default algorithm when comnpared with sea truth data. The proof depends on sharp estimates on the relationship of local mesh sizes and a new stability estimate for the space decomposition based on the Scott-Zhang interpolation operator. | 5 | Archimedean copula estimation of distribution algorithm based on artificial bee colony algorithm显示文摘The artificial bee colony(ABC) algorithm is a competitive stochastic population-based optimization algorithm. However, the ABC algorithm does not use the social information and lacks the knowledge of the problem structure, which leads to insufficiency in both convergent speed and searching precision.Archimedean copula estimation of distribution algorithm(ACEDA)is a relatively simple, time-economic and multivariate correlated EDA. This paper proposes a novel hybrid algorithm based on the ABC algorithm and ACEDA called Archimedean copula estimation of distribution based on the artificial bee colony(ACABC)algorithm. The hybrid algorithm utilizes ACEDA to estimate the distribution model and then uses the information to help artificial bees to search more efficiently in the search space. Six benchmark functions are introduced to assess the performance of the ACABC algorithm on numerical function optimization. The algorithm employs space-decomposition of the computational load among the processing ele- ments (PEs) and multi-level cell-subdivision technique for particle indexing. In this algorithm, a 2D gas-solid system is simulated with the temporal variations of drags on solids, inter-phase slip velocities and solids concentration elaborately monitored. | 7 | An integrated decision method for prediction of tropical cyclone movement by using genetic algorithm显示文摘In this study an integrated decision method for the multi-prediction results of tropical cyclone movements by using genetic algorithm (GA) has been adopted. A genetic learning artifi- cial neural network (GLANN) as a learning mechanism for track prediction was developed through training with the huge samples of typhoon tracks from 1884 to 2002. The prediction of typhoon motion is to consider how to suit the dynamic change of environment, where typhoon passed through. The neural network structure is described by GA. A fitness function for choice of GA is given to approach the maximum of fitness (the minimum of the errors). Parallel comparing analyses for prediction abilities of unusual typhoon tracks in recent years by GLANN with multi-forecast methods were conducted. More types of cases were employed in the comparing analyses, which consist of the typhoon, Winnie, No.11, in 1997, characterized by a long life over the ocean and in the mainland with severe effect on China, the 10 unusual typhoon tracks in the 1990s, the tracks with landfall and affected action in 1998 and the typhoons born in the Northwestern Pacific and the South China Sea in 2000, including the 24—48 h forecast, etc. The results indicated that for prediction ability of typhoon tracks, specially for unusual typhoons, GA decision-making developed in this study is superior to the others. | YANG Yuanqin1 & WANG Jizhi2 1. | 8 | Modeling of CVI process in fabrication of carbon/carbon composites by an artificial neural network显示文摘The chemical vapor infiltration(CVI) process in fabrication of carbon-carbon composites is very complex and highly inefficient, which adds considerably to the cost of fabrication and limits the application of the material. This paper tries to use a supervised artificial neural network(ANN) to model the nonlinear relationship between parameters of isothermal CVI(ICVI) processes and physical properties of C/C composites. A model for preprocessing dataset and selecting its topology is developed using the Levenberg-Marquardt training algorithm and trained with comprehensive dataset of tubal C/C components collected from experimental data and abundant simulated data obtained by the finite element method. A basic repository on the domain knowledge of CVI processes is established via sufficient data mining by the network. With the help of the repository stored in the trained network, not only the time-dependent effects of parameters in CVI processes but also their coupling effects can be analyzed and predicted. | 9 | Feature Extraction of Localized Scattering Centers Using the Modified TLS-Prony Algorithm and Its Applications显示文摘This paper presents an all-parametric model of radar target in optic region, in which the localized scattering center’s frequency and aspect angle dependent scattering level, distance and azimuth locations are modeled as the feature vectors. And the traditional TLS-Prony algorithm is modified to extract these feature vectors. The analysis of Cramer-Rao bound shows that the modified algorithm not only improves the restriction of high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)threshold of traditional TLS-Prony algorithm, but also is suitable to the extraction of big damped coefficients and high-resolution estimation of near separation poles. Finally, an illustrative example is presented to verify its practicability in the applications. | 10 | A Quantum Chemistry Study of Inhibition Properties of Imidazole and Its Derivatives on Iron Surface Corrosion显示文摘The geometries of imidazole and its derivatives were respectively optimized by using ab initio method, and the molecular orbital energy levels and the charge densities were obtained for their optimum geometries. The frontier orbital energy levels, and the net charges of N (1) atom and the imidazole ring of those molecules were obtained with ab initio and SCC-DV-Xα methods. It was found that the inhibition properties of those compounds change with the highest occupied molecular orbital energy levels, and the net charges of N(1) atom. We took four iron atoms on the crystal plane (100) of α-iron as the surface which was used to study the adsorption towards the inhibitors. The adsorption models of the inhibitor to be adsorbed on the Fe-cluster surface were optimized with SCC-DV-Xα method. It turns out that the most favorable model is that the inhibitor molecule is adsorbed on the Fe-cluster surface in an inclined state. An objective function combination method (OFCM) of constructing such a function for constrained optimization problems is suggested. How to use both deterministic and genetic algorithms to biobjective and bidisciplinary optimal design of high performance airfoils and wings is discussed. Numerical results in both 2D (airfoil) and 3D (wing) cases show that the present method can be used to optimaize different kinds of initial airfoils and wings. The performance of optimized shape is improved significantly. | 13 | Bayesian networks precipitation model based on hidden Markov analysis and its application显示文摘Surface precipitation estimation is very important in hydrologic forecast. To account for the influence of the neighbors on the precipitation of an arbitrary grid in the network, Bayesian networks and Markov random field were adopted to estimate surface precipitation. Spherical coordinates and the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm were used for region interpolation, and for estimation of the precipitation of arbitrary point in the region. Surface precipitation estimation of seven precipitation stations in Qinghai Lake region was performed. | 14 | A new trust region algorithm for image restoration显示文摘The image restoration problems play an important role in remote sensing and astronomical image analysis. One common method for the recovery of a true image from corrupted or blurred image is the least squares error (LSE) method. But the LSE method is unstable in practical applications. A popular way to overcome instability is the Tikhonov regularization. However, difficulties will encounter when adjusting the so-called regularization parameter α. Moreover, how to truncate the iteration at appropriate steps is also challenging. In this paper we use the trust region method to deal with the image restoration problem, meanwhile, the trust region subproblem is solved by the truncated Lanczos method and the preconditioned truncated Lanczos method. We also develop a fast algorithm for evaluating the Kronecker matrix-vector product when the matrix is banded. The trust region method is very stable and robust, and it has the nice property of updating the trust region automatically. This releases us from tedious finding the regularization parameters and truncation levels. | 17 | Global Convergence Analysis of Non-Crossover Genetic Algorithm and Its Application to Optimization显示文摘Selection, crossover, and mutation are three main operators of the canonical genetic algorithm (CGA). This paper presents a new approach to the genetic algorithm. This new approach applies only to mutation and selection operators. The paper proves that the search process of the non-crossover genetic algorithm (NCGA) is an ergodic homogeneous Markov chain. The proof of its convergence to global optimum is presented. Some nonlinear multi-modal optimization problems are applied to test the efficacy of the NCGA. NP-hard traveling salesman problem (TSP) is cited here as the benchmark problem to test the efficiency of the algorithm. The simulation result shows that NCGA achieves much faster convergence speed than CGA in terms of CPU time.
