1Convergence of a smoothing algorithm for symmetric cone complementarity problems with a nonmonotone line search显示文摘In this paper, we propose a smoothing algorithm for solving the monotone symmetric cone complementarity problems (SCCP for short) with a nonmonotone line search. We show that the nonmonotone algorithm is globally convergent under an assumption that the solution set of the problem concerned is nonempty. Such an assumption is weaker than those given in most existing algorithms for solving optimization problems over symmetric cones. 2Path-following interior point algorithms for the Cartesian P_*(κ)-LCP over symmetric cones显示文摘In this paper, we establish a theoretical framework of path-following interior point al- gorithms for the linear complementarity problems over symmetric cones (SCLCP) with the Cartesian P*(κ)-property, a weaker condition than the monotonicity. Based on the Nesterov-Todd, xy and yx directions employed as commutative search directions for semidefinite programming, we extend the variants of the short-, semilong-, and long-step path-following algorithms for symmetric conic linear programming proposed by Schmieta and Alizadeh to the Cartesian P*(κ)-SCLCP, and particularly show the global convergence and the iteration complexities of the proposed algorithms.LUO ZiYan XIU NaiHua 2009Science China Mathematics2009,52,8:5

4An Energy Efficient Motion Controller Based on SLCP for the Electrically Actuated Quadruped Robot显示文摘Energy efficiency has been the focus of quadruped robot research.Decreasing the energy loss caused by the DC motor can contribute to the walking efficiency of electrically actuated quadruped robots.Most works have focused on the quadruped mechanisms or actuations such as the Series Elastic Actuation(SEA).This work proposes a better efficient controller to perform the stable 5 m·s-1 movements of quadruped robots.The dynamic model of the electrically actuated leg is established by Lagrangian formulation.The energy efficiency of the DC motors in the electrically actuated quadruped robot is formulated as an optimization problem.The Stochastic Linear Complementarity Problem(SLCP)and sinusoidal pulse force are proposed to reduce the energy consumption at the contact.The Bemstein polynomials are used for planning a quasi-elliptic foot motion trajectory.The stability and energy efficiency of the proposed controller are verified with computer simulation and an actual single leg robot prototype.Compared with other works,the proposed controller performs the optimal Cost of Transport(COT).Tianfa Li Lelai Zhou Yibin Li Hui Chai Kun Yang 2020Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,2:3
5Trait complementarity between fine roots of Stipa purpurea and their associated arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi along a precipitation gradient in Tibetan alpine steppe显示文摘Development of fine roots and formation of symbiosis with arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) fungi represent two strategies for plants to acquire nutrient and water from soil. Here, we elucidated how fine root development and symbolized mycorrhizal fungi with Stipa purpurea responded to the precipitation change in Tibetan alpine steppe ecosystem across a precipitation gradient from 50 mm to 400 mm. As precipitation increased, the proportion of thinner fine roots(diameter < 0.4 mm) in total roots increased significantly; while the mycorrhizal colonization percentage, either associated with thinner or thicker roots, decreased. This phenomenon indicated that fine root development and symbolized mycorrhizal fungi are likely alternative, and plant preferred to develop fine root rather than build a symbiotic relationship with mycorrhizal fungi in more benign niches with higher precipitation. Also, root diameter was negatively correlated with specific root length(SRL), but positively correlated with AM fungal colonization percentage, indicating thicker-root species rely more on mycorrhizal fungi in alpine steppe. 6Robust H∞ output tracking control of uncertain networked control systems显示文摘This paper investigates a problem of robust output tracking control of networked control systems(NCSs) with network-induced delays, packet dropouts, parameter uncertainties and external disturbances. Firstly, an augmented model of time-delay system is proposed for networked tracking control systems. Then, considering the piecewise differentiable characteristic of time-delay, the criterion to output tracking performance analysis and controller design are derived by using an approach of free weighting matrix, reciprocally convex and cone complementarity linearization(CCL). 7Inhibition of hepatitis C virus replication by single-stranded RNA structural mimics显示文摘AIM: To examine the effect of hepatitis C virus (HCV) structural mimics of regulatory regions of the genome on HCV replication.METHODS: HCV RNA structural mimics were constructed and tested in a HCV genotype 1b aBB7 replicon,and a Japanese fulminant hepatitis-1 (JFH-1) HCV genotype 2a infection model.All sequences were computer-predicted to adopt stem-loop structures identical to the corresponding elements in full-length viral RNA.Huh7.5 cells bearing the BB7 replicon or infected with JFH-1 virus were transfected with expression vectors generating HCV mimics and controls.Cellular HCV RNA and protein levels were quantified by real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting,respectively.To evaluate possible antisense effects,complementary RNAs spanning a mimic were prepared.RESULTS: In the BB7 genotype 1b replicon system,mimics of the polymerase (NS-5B),X and BA regions inhibited replication by more than 90%,50%,and 60%,respectively.In the JFH-1 genotype 2 infection system,mimics that were only 74% and 46% identical in sequence relative to the corresponding region in JFH-1 inhibited HCV replication by 91.5% and 91.2%,respectively,as effectively as a mimic with complete identity to HCV genotype 2a.The inhibitory effects were confirmed by NS3 protein levels.Antisense RNA molecules spanning the 74% identical mimic had no significant effects.CONCLUSION: HCV RNA structural mimics can inhibit HCV RNA replication in replicon and infectious HCV systems and do so independent of close sequence identity with the target.Robert Smolic Martina Smolic John H Andorfer Catherine H Wu Robert M Smith George Y Wu 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,17:2

9Estimations on upper and lower bounds of solutions to a class of tensor complementarity problems显示文摘We introduce a class of structured tensors, called generalized row strictly diagonally dominant tensors, and discuss some relationships between it and several classes of structured tensors, including nonnegative tensors, Btensors, and strictly copositive tensors. In particular, we give estimations on upper and lower bounds of solutions to the tensor complementarity problem (TCP) when the involved tensor is a generalized row strictly diagonally dominant tensor with all positive diagonal entries. 11Comparison and analysis of two Coulomb friction models on the dynamic behavior of slider-crank mechanism with a revolute clearance joint显示文摘The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of the Coulomb dry friction model versus the modified Coulomb friction model on the dynamic behavior of the slider-crank mechanism with a revolute clearance joint. The normal and tangential forces acting on the contact points between the journal and the bearing are described by using a Hertzian-based contact force model and the Coulomb friction models, respectively.The dynamic equations of the mechanism are derived based on the Lagrange equations of the first kind and the Baumgarte stabilization method. The frictional force is solved via the linear complementarity problem(LCP) algorithm and the trial-and-error algorithm.Finally, three numerical examples are given to show the influence of the two Coulomb friction models on the dynamic behavior of the mechanism. 12Structure and Property of AgLaY Alloy显示文摘The structure of RE-Ag alloy was observed and analyzed using electron probe. The property changes of the alloy containing two rare earth elements AgLaY during cold forming and the high temperature softening-resistance dur- ing annealing were studied using Vickers hardness tester. The distribution and action of the rare earth elements in Ag- alloy were also analyzed. Experimental results show that AgLaY alloy has more remarkable work-hardening effect than AgLa and pure silvet, and it also has better thermal-resistance. The effects of RE elements, La and Y, on the properties of Ag-alloy are attributable to their symbiotic distribution and complementary function. Because of the common proper- ties of La and Y as RE elements, they have the completely similar distribution in Ag-alloy. 17Pollinator diversity benefits natural and agricultural ecosystems,environmental health,and human welfare显示文摘Biodiversity loss during the Anthropocene is a serious ecological challenge.Pollinators are important vectors that provide multiple essential ecosystem services but are declining rapidly in this changing world.However,several studies have argued that a high abundance of managed bee pollinators,such as honeybees(Apis mellifera),may be sufficient to provide pollination services for crop productivity,and sociological studies indicate that the majority of farmers worldwide do not recognize the contribution of wild pollinator diversity to agricultural yield.Here,we review the importance of pollinator diversity in natural and agricultural ecosystems that may be thwarted by the increase in abundance of managed pollinators such as honeybees.We also emphasize the additional roles diverse pollinator communities play in environmental safety,culture,and aesthetics.Research indicates that in natural ecosystems,pollinator diversity enhances pollination during environmental and climatic perturbations,thus alleviating pollen limitation.In agricultural ecosystems,pollinator diversity increases the quality and quantity of crop yield.Furthermore,studies indicate that many pollinator groups are useful in monitoring environmental pollution,aid in pest and disease control,and provide cultural and aesthetic value.During the uncertainties that may accompany rapid environmental changes in the Anthropocene,the conservation of pollinator diversity must expand beyond bee conservation.Similarly,the value of pollinator diversity maintenance extends beyond the provision of pollination services.Accordingly,conservation of pollinator diversity requires an interdisciplinary approach with contributions from environmentalists,taxonomists,and social scientists,including artists,who can shape opinions and behavior.Daniel Mutavi Katumo Huan Liang Anne Christine Ochola Min Lv Qing-Feng Wang Chun-Feng Yang 2022Plant Diversity2022,44,5:1
