Mianlüe tectonic zone and Mianlüe suture zone on southern margin of Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt显示文摘The Mianle tectonic zone (Mianle zone), an ancient suture zone in addition to the Shangdan suture in the Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt, marks an important tectonic division geo-logically separating north from south and connecting east with west in China continent. To de-termine present structural geometry and kinematics in the Mianle tectonic zone and to recon-struct the formation and evolution history involving plate subduction and collision in the Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt, through a multidisciplinary study, are significant for exploring the mountain-building orogenesis of the central orogenic system and the entire process of the major Chinese continental amalgamation during the Indosinian.ZHANG Guowei1, DONG Yunpeng1, LAI Shaocong1, GUO Anlin1, MENG Qingren2, LIU Shaofeng3, CHENG Shunyou1, YAO Anping1, ZHANG Zongqing4, PEI Xianzhi5 & LI Sanzhong6 1. 2Evidence of mantle-rooted fluids and multi-level circulation ore-forming dynamics:A case study from the Xiadian gold deposit,Shandong Province,China显示文摘Metallogensis of the Xiadian gold deposit in Shandong Province has been a question under dispute for a long time. There are many points such as metamorphic hydrothermal, magamatic hydrothermal and meteoric water. Detailed study shows that mantle-rooted fluids were involved in the ore-forming processes. Evidence for this argumentation comes from: (1) discordogenic fault; (2) intersecting and accompanying of basic veins and lodes; (3) geochemistry of stable isotopes; (4) geochemistry of fluid inclusions; and (5) multi-level circulation and exchanging of mantle-rooted fluids. Based on the characteristics of the circulation system of mantle-rooted fluids and its close relation to magmatic hydrothermal fluids and meteoric water, ore-bearing fluids are divided into three subsystems: (1) C-H-O-rich fluid circulation subsystem in mantle, (2) Si-rich fluid circulation subsystem in the middle and lower crust; and (3) S-rich fluid circulation subsystem in shallow and surface crust. Ore-forming functions of these subsystems are controlled respectively by their different geodynamic settings.邓军 刘伟 孙忠实 王建平 王庆飞 张群喜 韦延光 2003Science China Earth Sciences2003,46,z1:28
Molecular dynamics simulation of mechanical properties of TATB/fluorine-polymer PBXs along different surfaces显示文摘The mechanical properties of PBXs composed of the well-known insensitive explo-sive TATB (1,3,5-Triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene) crystal and four kinds of typical fluo-rine-polymers, i.e. poly (vinylidene difluoride) (PVDF), polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), fluo-rine rubber (F2311) and fluorine resin (F2314) individually, have been simulated by molecular dy-namics (MD) method. The results show that the mechanical properties of TATB can be effectively improved by blending with a small amount of fluorine-polymers. Different mechanical properties of PBXs are obtained by putting fluorine-polymer binders parallel to different crystalline surfaces. The whole effect of improving mechanical properties is found to be (010)?(100)>(001).XIAO Jijun1, HUANG Yucheng1, HU Yingjie1,2 & XIAO Heming1 1. 4Creating and destroying vacancies in solids and nonequilibrium grain boundary segregation显示文摘How the vacancies in excess of equilibrium concentration are created and destroyed in solids is crucial for understanding many of their physical characteristics and processes. Grain boundaries are known as sources and sinks for bulk vacancies, but what exchange will occur between the grain boundary and the bulk under a stress is still obscure. In the present paper, we show that grain boundaries will work as sources to emit vacancies when a compressive stress is exerted on them and as sinks to absorb vacancies when a tensile stress is exerted. This is the sixth method of introducing and annihilating vacancies in solids in addition to the five methods mentioned in literature. At the same time, this physical process will produce solute nonequilibrium grain-boundary segregation/dilution. A set of kinetic equations is established to describe such a physical process. Additionally an attempt has been made to simulate Misra抯 experimental data with the kinetic equations to justify the physical process.徐庭栋 2003Science China(Technological Sciences)2003,46,4:14
Structural coupling of the Dabie Orogen with Hefei Basin显示文摘Geological, geophysical and geochemical data show that both of the Dabie Orogen and Hefei Basin formed during a Mesozoic orogeny. A three-stage development of the Hefei Basin includes down-warping, half grabben, and positive inversion. Both the uplift in orogen and the depression in basin resulted from the 'de-rooting' of orogen and up-welling of the mantle.Wang, QC Cong, B Ma, L 1997Chinese Science Bulletin1997,42,18:10
Present-day crustal movement and tectonic deformation in China continent显示文摘Velocity field of China continent constrained by Global Positioning System (GPS) reveals both continuous and block-like styles of deformation. Continuous deformation commonly characterizes actively deforming mountain ranges such as the Tianshan Mountain, Qilian Mountain, and Tibet. The block-like movement often represents deformation in the tectonically stable regions such as Ordos, South China and Tarim blocks. GPS measurements indicate 5.1±2.5 mm/a left-lateral strike-slip rate along the Altun fault. Eastward convergence along the Longmenshan fault is less than 6.7±3.0 mm/a. South China moves 11-14 mm/a eastward compared with the stable Eurasia. These low slip rates do not imply rapid eastward extrusion of China continent predicted by the model of 'continental extrusion'. It appears that 'crustal thickening' model more properly describes both continuous and block-like styles of deformation in China continent.王琪 张培震 牛之俊 赖锡安 J.T.Frevmueller 朱文耀 刘经南 李延新 R.Bilham K.M.Larson 2002Science China Earth Sciences2002,45,10:10
Molecular dynamics study on thermal conductivity of nano-scale thin films显示文摘A simple and effective model of heat conduction across thin films is set up and molecular dynamics simulations are implemented to explore the thermal conductivity of nanoscale thin dielectric films in the direction perpendicular to the film plane. Solid argon is selected as the model system due to its reliable experimental data and potential function. Size effects of the thermal conductivity across thin films are found by computer simulations: in a film thickness range of 2-10 nm, the conductivity values are remarkably lower than the corresponding bulk experimental data and increase as the thickness increases. The consistency between the approximate solution of the phonon Boltzmann transport equation and the simulation results ascribes the thermal conductivity size effect to the phonon scattering at film boundaries.Xiaoli Feng Zhixin Li Xingang Liang Zengyuan Guo 2001Chinese Science Bulletin2001,46,7:7
Crack tip fields of piezoelectric materials under antiplane impact显示文摘THE fracture mechanics of piezoelectric materials is extensively studied under static mechanicalor electrical loads. However, the failure of practical smart structure always happens underdynamic loads, so it is urgently needed to study the fracture dynamics of piezoelectric materi-als. 9Pattern formation in 2-μm Tm Mamyshev oscillators associated with the dissipative Faraday instability显示文摘We investigate numerically the pattern formation in 2-μm thulium-doped Mamyshev fiber oscillators, associated with the dissipative Faraday instability. The dispersion-managed fiber ring oscillator is designed with commercial fibers, allowing the dynamics for a wide range of average dispersion regimes to be studied, from normal to nearzero cavity dispersion where the Benjamin–Feir instability remains inhibited. For the first time in the 2-μm spectral window, the formation of highly coherent periodic patterns is demonstrated numerically with rates up to ~100 GHz. In addition, irregular patterns are also investigated, revealing the generation of rogue waves via nonlinear collision processes. Our investigations have potential applications for the generation of multigigahertz frequency combs. They also shed new light on the dissipative Faraday instability mechanisms in the area of nonlinear optical cavity dynamics.Pan Wang Shunyu Yao Philippe Grelu Xiaosheng Xiao Changxi Yang 2019Photonics Research2019,7,11:4
Nonlinear dynamical characteristics of bed load motion显示文摘Bed forms of various kinds that evolve naturally on the bottom of sandy coasts and rivers are a result of the kinematics of bed load transport. Based on the group motion of particles in the bed load within the bottom layer, a study on the nonlinear dy- namics of bed load transport is presented in this paper. It is found that some development stages, such as the initiation, the equilibrium sediment transport, and the transition from a smooth bed to sand dunes, can be accounted for by different states in the nonlinear sys- tem of the bed load transport. It is verified by comparison with experimental data reported by Laboratoire Nationae D’Hydraulique, Chatou, France, that the evolution from a smooth bed to sand dunes is determined by mutation in the bed load transport. This paper pre- sents results that may offer theoretical explanations to the experimental observations. It is also an attempt to apply the state-of-the-art nonlinear science to the classical sediment transport mechanics.Chiu-On Ng 2006Science China(Technological Sciences)2006,49,3:4
Is it growing exponentially fast? -Impact of assuming exponential growth for characterizing and forecasting epidemics with initial near-exponential growth dynamics显示文摘The increasing use of mathematical models for epidemic forecasting has highlighted the importance of designing models that capture the baseline transmission characteristics in order to generate reliable epidemic forecasts.Improved models for epidemic forecasting could be achieved by identifying signature features of epidemic growth, which could inform the design of models of disease spread and reveal important characteristics of the transmission process. In particular,it is often taken for granted that the early growth phase of different growth processes in nature follow early exponential growth dynamics. In the context of infectious disease spread, this assumption is often convenient to describe a transmission process with mass action kinetics using differential equations and generate analytic expressions and estimates of the reproduction number. In this article,we carry out a simulation study to illustrate the impact of incorrectly assuming an exponential-growth model to characterize the early phase(e.g.,3e5 disease generation intervals)of an infectious disease outbreak that follows near-exponential growth dynamics.Specifically,we assess the impact on:1)goodness of fit,2)bias on the growth parameter, and 3)the impact on short-term epidemic forecasts. Our findings indicate that devising transmission models and statistical approaches that more flexibly capture the profile of epidemic growth could lead to enhanced model fit, improved estimates of key transmission parameters, and more realistic epidemic forecasts.Gerardo Chowell Cecile Viboud 2016Infectious Disease Modelling2016,1,1:4
Origin and accumulation of the oils from Bamianhe Oilfield, Bohai Bay Basin, Eastern China显示文摘Utilizing basic principles and methodologies of geology and organic geochemistry, kinetics of hydrocarbons generation and accumulation, quantitative assessment of crude oils sourced from different source rocks, and hydrocarbons migration pathways for the oils from the Bamianhe Oilfield, the Bohai Bay Basin, Eastern China are discussed. Results of oil-rock corre-lation showed that the oils were mainly derived from Es4 member (with buried depth >2700 m) of Niuzhuang and Guangli Sags within normal oil window though there is a little amount of mixed immature oils. Quantification of mixed oils with different sources indicated that mature oils ac-count for about 80% of the total oils discovered and immature oils for only 20%. Migration of the oils sourced from the sags is controlled by predominant hydrocarbons migration passages de-termined by faults, unformalities and favored sandstone reservoir. Results of the origin and mi-gration models for the oils have been recently further testified by considerable quantity of oils discovered in the Bamianhe area, which is obviously playing an important role in guiding further oil exploration.PANG Xiongqi1,2, LI Sumei1,2, JIN Zhijun3, LI Maowen4, LI Pilong5 , LI Xue5 & BAI Guoping1,2 1. 13Breathing dissipative soliton explosions in a bidirectional ultrafast fiber laser显示文摘Soliton explosions, among the most exotic dynamics, have been extensively studied on parameter invariant stationary solitons. However, the explosion dynamics are still largcly unexplored in breathing dissipative solitons as a dynamic solution to many nonlincar systems. Here,we report on the first observation of a breathing dissipative soliton explosion in a nct-normal-dispersion bidirectional ultrafast fiber lascr. The breathing soliton explos ionscould be stimulated by the soliton buildup process or alteration of polarization settings.Transient breathing soliton pairs with intensive repulsion that is sensitive to initial conditions can also be triggered by multiple soliton explosions in the soliton buildup process instead of being triggered by varying polarization settings. The high bchavior similarity also exists in the breathing soliton buildup and explosion process owing to the common gain and loss modulation. In addition, dissipative rogue waves were detected in the breathing soliton explosion, and the collision of breathing soliton significantly enhanced the amplitude of rogue waves, which is characteristic of the breathing solitons in a bidirectional fiber laser. These results shed new insights into complex dissipative soliton dynamics.YI ZHOU YU-XUAN REN JIAWEI SHI KENNETH K.Y.WONG 2020Photonics Research2020,8,10:4
Using remote sensing to research Beijing wetlands dynamics显示文摘In Beijing, where wetlands are important to municipal freshwater conservation and biodiversity retention, three different types of wetlands were identified: riverside wetlands, wetlands surrounding lakes and reservoirs, and wetlands in municipal parks.Remote sensing technology was applied in combination with field investigations to monitor and analyze the changes in these wetlands, and a combination of fusion technologies,Landsat TM/ETM+ and IKONOS imaging, was used to investigate and map them. This study indicates that not only have wetland areas been reduced by half, but also their ecological environments have been degraded because of rapid economic development and population increase. Suggestions based on this research are made to reconstruct the ecological environment of the wetlands and return them to their previous state.ZHAO Wenji, GONG Zhaoning, GONG Huili, LI Xiaojuan, ZHANG Songmei & LI Jing Key Lab of Resource Environment and GIS of Beijing, Capital Normal University, Beijing 100037, China Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun 130012, China College of Resources Science and Technology, Beijing Normal University, Beijing 100875, China 2006Science China(Technological Sciences)2006,49,z2:3
A NEW APPROACH TO SOLVE SYSTEMS OF LINEAR EQUATIONS显示文摘We propose a new iterative approach to solve systems of linear equations. The new strategy integrates the algebraic basis of the problem with elements horn classical mechanics all the finite difference method. The approach defines two families of convergent iterative methods. Each family is characterized by a linear differential equation, and every method is obtained from a suitable hoe difference scheme to integrate the associated dif ferential equation. The methods are general and depend on neither the matrix dimension nor the matrix structure. In this preliminary work, we present the basic features of the method with a simple application to a low dimensional system.V á squez, Luis V á squez-Poletti, Jos é L. 2001Journal of Computational Mathematics2001,19,4:2

Structure of cis-[Pt(NH_(3))(2-picoline)]^(2+)and DNA adduct and its bonding characteristics显示文摘Several methods including molecular mechanics, molecular dynamics, ONIOM that combines quantum chemistry with molecular mechanics and standard quantum chemistry are used to study the configuration and electron structures of an adduct of the DNA segment d(ATACATG*G*TACATA)·d(TATGTACCATGTAT) with cis-[Pt(NH3)(2-Picoline)]2+. The investigation shows that the configuration optimized by ONIOM is similar to that determined by NMR. Strong chemical bonds between Pt of the complex and two N7s of neighboring guanines in the DNA duplex and hydrogen bond between the NH3 of the complex and O6 of a nearby guanine have a large impact on the configuration of the adduct. Chemical bonds, the aforementioned hydrogen bond, and the interaction between a methyl of the complex and a methyl of the base in close proximity are critical for the complex to specifically recognize DNA.JIA Muxin, LIU Kai, YANG Zuoyin & CHEN GuangjuDepartment of Chemistry, Beijing Normal University, Beijing 100875, China Beijing General Research Institute of Mining and Metullargy, Beijing 100044, China 2004Science China Chemistry2004,47,1:2
LiToTac: An Interactive-Interface Software for Finite Element Analysis of Multiple Contact Dynamics显示文摘In order to investigate the mechanical behavior of systems with complex architecture and a large number of contacting bodies,a finite element software, named LiToTac,has been developed by using the object-oriented programming technique. This software, with an interactive graphical user interface,is able to handle highly non-linear problems including multiple contacts and large deformation.More importantly, the contact detection based on a hybrid three-stages methodology can be performed automatically, which is more efficient than the common strategies of pre-defining contact zones in commercial FEM software like ANSYS,ABAQUS,etc. In addition, the contact solver in LiToTac is portable between dynamic and quasi-static codes and can accurately solve contact coupled with friction in a reduced system.Several numerical examples are carried out to illustrate the functionality and capacity of the software package.Lei Peng Zhiqiang Feng Pierre Joli Christine Renaud 2019Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2019,,1:2
Effects of gravity waves on the distributions of O_3 and OH in the mesopause region显示文摘A dynamical-photochemical model of atmospheric gravity waves is used to study the influences of gravity waves on distributions of atmospheric minor species through transportation and photochemical reactions. We mainly study the effect of gravity waves on the distributions of atmospheric trace gases through the nonlinear photochemical reactions. O3 and OH are taken as examples in this note. The calculations indicate that the effect of gravity waves on the distributions of atmospheric trace gases is mainly through the nonlinear photochemical reactions in the mesopause region. The contribution of the nonlinear photochemical reaction caused by gravity waves can exceed the nonlinear transportation and the eddy diffusion.XU Jiyao & MA RuipingLaboratory for Space Weather, Center for Space Science and Applied Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100080, China Laboratory of Numeric Study of Heliospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100080, China 2001Chinese Science Bulletin2001,46,15:2
A simulation method of combinding boundary element method with generalized Langevin dynamics显示文摘A new simulation approach to incorporate hydration force into generalized Langevin dynamics (GLD) is developed in this note. The hydration force determined by the boundary element method (BEM) is taken into account as the mean force terms of solvent including Coulombic interactions with the induced surface charge and the surface pressure of solvent. The exponential model is taken for the friction kernel. A simulation study has been performed on the cyclic undecapeptide cyclosporin A (CPA). The results obtained from the new method (GLDBEM) have been analyzed and compared with that obtained from the molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and the conventional stochastic dynamics (SD) simulation. We have found that the results obtained from GLDBEM show the obvious improvement over the SD simulation technique in the study of molecular structure and dynamic properties.CHEN Weizu LU Benzhuo WANG Cunxin 2000Chinese Science Bulletin2000,45,24:2
