2Roux-en-Y versus BillrothⅠreconstruction after distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer:A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To conduct a meta-analysis to compare Rouxen-Y(R-Y) gastrojejunostomy with gastroduodenal Billroth Ⅰ(B-Ⅰ) anastomosis after distal gastrectomy(DG) for gastric cancer.METHODS:A literature search was performed to identify studies comparing R-Y with B-Ⅰ after DG for gastric cancer from January 1990 to November 2012 in Medline,Embase,Science Citation Index Expanded and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials in The Cochrane Library.Pooled odds ratios(OR) or weighted mean differences(WMD) with 95%CI were calculated using either fixed or random effects model.Operative outcomes such as operation time,intraoperative blood loss and postoperative outcomes such as anastomotic leakage and stricture,bile reflux,remnant gastritis,reflux esophagitis,dumping symptoms,delayed gastric emptying and hospital stay were the main outcomes assessed.Meta-analyses were performed using RevMan 5.0 software(Cochrane library).RESULTS:Four randomized controlled trials(RCTs) and 9 non-randomized observational clinical studies(OCS) involving 478 and 1402 patients respectively were included.Meta-analysis of RCTs revealed that R-Y reconstruction was associated with a reduced bile reflux(OR 0.04,95%CI:0.01,0.14;P < 0.00 001) and remnant gastritis(OR 0.43,95%CI:0.28,0.66;P = 0.0001),however needing a longer operation time(WMD 40.02,95%CI:13.93,66.11;P = 0.003).Metaanalysis of OCS also revealed R-Y reconstruction had a lower incidence of bile reflux(OR 0.21,95%CI:0.08,0.54;P = 0.001),remnant gastritis(OR 0.18,95%CI:0.11,0.29;P < 0.00 001) and reflux esophagitis(OR 0.48,95%CI:0.26,0.89;P = 0.02).However,this reconstruction method was found to be associated with a longer operation time(WMD 31.30,95%CI:12.99,49.60;P = 0.0008).CONCLUSION:This systematic review point towards some clinical advantages that are rendered by R-Y compared to B-Ⅰ reconstruction post DG.However there is a need for further adequately powered,welldesigned RCTs comparing the same.Jun-Jie Xiong Kiran Altaf Muhammad A Javed Quentin M Nunes Wei Huang Gang Mai Chun-Lu Tan Rajarshi Mukherjee Robert Sutton Wei-Ming Hu Xu-Bao Liu 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,7:33

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is an essential mediator during the process of angiogenesis. Based on an extensive literature search,which was carried out using the PubMed database and the Keywords of osteogenesis, VEGF, endochondral ossification and intramembranous ossification, this manuscript reviews the role of VEGF in ossification, with emphasis on its effect in endochondral and intramembranous ossification. Osteogenesis and angiogenesis are closely correlated processes. VEGF acts as an essential mediator during these processes. 6Synthesis and characterization of CNT/Ce-TiO_2 nanocomposite for phenol degradation显示文摘An innovative photocatalyst, Carbon nanotube (CNT) supported Ce-TiO2 nanocomposite was successfully synthesized via modi-fied sol gel method and investigated in a batch reactor for abolition of phenol under UV light spectrum. Characterization of catalyst micro-structure and internal properties were done by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), scanning electron micros-copy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS). Ce doping can inhibit phase transfor-mation from anatase to rutile and eliminate the recombination of electron-hole pairs in the catalyst. The presence of CNT in TiO2 composite can both increase the photoactivity under UV and change surface properties to achieve sensitivity to visible light. The optimum mass ratio of CNT support and cerium (Ce) dopant in TiO2 was the prominent factor to harvest CNT/Ce-TiO2 photocatalyst nanocomposite. The results demonstrated that optimum mass ratio of CNT:TiO2:Ce was 0.02:1.0:0.06, which resulted in the great performance of the photocatalyst to de-grade about 94% of phenol in a 50 mg/L solution in only 3 h. 12Development and effectiveness of pseudotyped SARS-CoV-2 system as determined by neutralizing efficiency and entry inhibition test in vitro显示文摘With the development of the COVID-19 epidemic,there is an urgent need to establish a system for determining the effectiveness and neutralizing activity of vaccine candidates in biosafety level 2(BSL-2)facilities.Previously,researchers had developed a pseudotyped virus systemfor SARS-CoV andMERS-CoV,based onHIV-1 core,bearing virus spike protein.During the development of a pseudotyped SARS-CoV-2 system,a eukaryotic expression plasmid expressing SARSCoV-2 spike(S)protein was constructed and then co-transfectedwith HIV-1 based plasmid which containing the firefly luciferase reporter gene,into HEK293T cells to prepare the pseudotyped SARS-CoV-2 virus(ppSARS-2).We have successfully established the pseudotyped SARS-CoV-2 system for neutralization and entry inhibition assays.Huh7.5 cell line was found to be the most susceptible to our pseudotyped virus model.Different levels of neutralizing antibodies were detected in convalescent serum samples of COVID-19 patients using ppSARS-2.The recombinant,soluble,angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 protein was found to inhibit the entry of ppSARS-2 in Huh7.5 cells effectively.Furthermore,the neutralization results for ppSARS-2 were consistent with those of live SARS-CoV-2 and determined using the serum samples fromconvalescent patients.In conclusion,we have developed an easily accessible and reliable tool for studying the neutralizing efficiency of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 and the entry process of the virus in a BSL-2 laboratory.Ren Yang Baoying Huang Ruhan A Wenhui Li Wenling Wang Yao Deng Wenjie Tan 2020Biosafety and Health2020,2,4:5
