Chirality-assisted lateral momentum transfer for bidirectional enantioselective separation显示文摘Lateral optical forces induced by linearly polarized laser beams have been predicted to deflect dipolar particles with opposite chiralities toward opposite transversal directions.These“chirality-dependent”forces can offer new possibilities for passive all-optical enantioselective sorting of chiral particles, which is essential to the nanoscience and drug industries. However, previous chiral sorting experiments focused on large particles with diameters in the geometrical-optics regime. Here,we demonstrate, for the first time, the robust sorting of Mie(size~wavelength)chiral particles with different handedness at an air–water interface using optical lateral forces induced by a single linearly polarized laser beam. The nontrivial physical interactions underlying these chirality-dependent forces distinctly differ from those predicted for dipolar or geometrical-optics particles. The lateral forces emerge from a complex interplay between the light polarization, lateral momentum enhancement, and out-of-plane light refraction at the particle-water interface. The sign of the lateral force could be reversed by changing the particle size, incident angle, and polarization of the obliquely incident light. | Yuzhi Shi Tongtong Zhu Tianhang Zhang Alfredo Mazzulla Din Ping Tsai Weiqiang Ding Ai Qun Liu Gabriella Cipparrone Juan Jose Saenz Cheng-Wei Qiu | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 3
Infection with severe fever with thrombocytopenia virus in healthy population:a cohort study in a high endemic region,China显示文摘Background: Severe fever with thrombocytopenia (SFTS) caused by SFTS virus (SFTSV) was a tick-borne hemorrhagic fever that posed significant threat to human health in Eastern Asia. The study was designed to measure the seroprevalence of SFTSV antibody in healthy population residing in a high endemic region. Methods: A cohort study was performed on healthy residents in Shangcheng County in Xinyang City from April to December in 2018, where the highest SFTS incidence in China was reported. Anti-SFTSV IgG was measured by indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and neutralizing antibody (NAb) was detected by using PRNT50. The logistic regression models were performed to analyze the variables that were associated with seropositive rates. Results: Totally 886 individuals were recruited. The baseline seroprevalence that was tested before the epidemic season was 11.9% (70/587) for IgG and 6.8% (40/587) for NAb, which was increased to 13.4% (47/350) and 7.7% (27/350) during the epidemic season, and further to 15.8% (80/508) and 9.8% (50/508) post epidemic. The IgG antibody-based seropositivity was significantly related to the patients aged ≥ 70 years old [adjusted odds ratio (OR) = 2.440, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.334-4.461 compared to the group of < 50 years old,P = 0.004], recent contact with cats (adjustedOR = 2.195, 95%CI: 1.261-3.818,P = 0.005), and working in tea garden (adjustedOR = 1.698, 95%CI: 1.002-2.880,P = 0.049) by applying multivariate logistic regression model. The NAb based seropositivity was similarly related to the patients aged ≥ 70 years old (adjustedOR = 2.691, 95%CI: 1.271-5.695 compared to the group of < 50 years old,P = 0.010), and recent contact with cats (OR = 2.648, 95%CI: 1.419-4.941,P = 0.002). For a cohort of individuals continually sampled with 1-year apart, the anti-SFTSV IgG were maintained at a stable level, while the NAb level reduced. Conclusions: Subclinical infection might not provide adequate immunity to protect reinfection of SFTSV, thus highlighting the ongoing threats of SFTS in endemic regions, which called for an imperative need for vaccine development. Identification of risk factors might help to target high-risk population for public health education and vaccination in the future. | Xiao‑Lei Ye Ke Dai Qing‑Bin Lu Yan‑Qin Huang Shou‑Ming Lv Pan‑He Zhang Jia‑Chen Li Hai‑Yang Zhang Zhen‑Dong Yang Ning Cui Chun Yuan Kun Liu Xiao‑Ai Zhang Jiu‑Song Zhang Hao Li Yang Yang Li‑Qun Fang Wei Liu | 2021 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2021,10,6: | 3

Screening of SARS-CoV-2 in 299 Hospitalized Children with Hematooncological Diseases:A Multicenter Survey in Hubei,China显示文摘Summary:The SARS-CoV-2 infection status of hospitalized children was surveyed in the department of pediatric hematology and oncology in three different hospitals of epidemic areas in Hubei,China.A cross-sectional study was performed to investigate the clinical characteristics, lung CT scan,SARS CoV-2 nucleic acid test and serum antibodics of hospitalized children with hemato-oncological diseases from January 23 to April 24,2020.299 children were enrolled in this study, including 176 males(58.9%)and 123 females(41.1%),aged from 2 months to 16 years.255 cases(85.3%)received chemotherapy or other immunosuppressive therapies, and there were 44 cases(14.7%)of other benign diseases.Nucleic acid test was performed on 258 children(86.3%)and one case was positive.163 cases(54.5%)were tested for serum antibodies, and all of them were negative.Lung CT scan was performed on 247 children(82.6%),and 107 of them showed infectious changes.Only one case(0.33%)of COVID-19 was diagnosed in the group. The prevalence rate of COVID-19 in enrolled children with hemato-oncological diseases in Hubei was 0.33%.Immunosuppressed patients are not prone to produce related antibodies.Comprehensive protective measures and ward management can reduce the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the group patients. | Song-mi WANG Fang TAO Yan HOU Ai ZHANG Hao XIONG Jun-jie SUN Xiao-ping LUO Yan HAO Jian-xin LI Qun HU Ai-guo LIU | 2020 | Current Medical Science2020,40,4: | 0
Immunogenicity and safety of a booster COVID-19 vaccination in patients with chronic liver disease:A multicenter study显示文摘Aim:Patients with chronic liver disease(CLD),especially cirrhosis, are at a high risk of severe illness or death from coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)and may have a suboptimal immune response to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)vaccine.This study aimed to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the COVID-19 booster vaccination in patients with CLD.Methods:The study protocol was prospectively registered at ClinicalTrials.gov(No.NCT05204602)after approval by the Ethics Committee.Adult participants with CLD were enrolled in this multicenter prospective study. They completed two doses of the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine and received booster doses at least 6 months later.Adverse reactions were recorded within 14 days after the booster dose.Serum samples of the enrolled patients were collected before and after booster vaccination and tested for SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain(RBD)immunoglobulin G and neutralizing anti-bodies.The chi-squared or Fisher's exact test was used to compare categorical data, and the Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare continuous variables.Two-sided p<0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results:In total,63 patients were enrolled from four hospitals in China, including 29 patients with cirrhosis. The median age of all patients was 55 years, and 61.9%(39/63)were male. The vaccines were well tolerated;most adverse reactions were mild and transient, and injection site pain(6.4%;4/63)and fatigue(3.2%,2/63)were the most frequent local and systemic adverse events.Following the booster vaccination, our results showed that in the whole cohort, the levels and positive rates of anti-RBD IgG and neutralizing antibodies were significantly higher than baseline levels(all p<0.05).Conclusions:The inactivated COVID-19 booster vaccine was safe and significantly increased antibody levels and positivity rates following standard vaccination regimens in patients with CLD,especially those with cirrhosis. | Jitao Wang Jingwen Ai Huiling Xiang Yanliang Zhang Zhiyun Hou Qiran Zhang Jiaojian Lv Shubo Chen Chuan Liu Qianqian Li Jing Liang Faren Xie Shujun Jiang Nina Zhang Aiguo Zhang Xiaolin Lan Xuying Zhang Jinlong Li Dengxiang Liu Wenchuan Wang Wei Rao Zhang Qun Qiuju Tian Xiaolong Qi Wenhong Zhang | 2023 | Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis2023,2,3: | 0
Efficient option pricing with a unary-based photonic computing chip and generative adversarial learning显示文摘In the modern financial industry system, the structure of products has become more and more complex, and the bottleneck constraint of classical computing power has already restricted the development of the financial industry. Here,we present a photonic chip that implements the unary approach to European option pricing,in combination with the quantum amplitude estimation algorithm,to achieve quadratic speedup compared to classical Monte Carlo methods. The circuit consists of three modules:one loading the distribution of asset prices, one computing the expected payoff, and a third performing the quantum amplitude estimation algorithm to introduce speedups. In the distribution module,a generative adversarial network is embedded for efficient learning and loading of asset distributions, which precisely captures market trends. This work is a step forward in the development of specialized photonic processors for applications in finance, with the potential to improve the efficiency and quality of financial services. | HUI ZHANG LINGXIAO WAN SERGI RAMOS-CALDERER YUANCHENG ZHAN WAI-KEONG MOK HONG CAI FENG GAO XIANSHU LUO GUO-QIANG LO LEONG CHUAN KWEK JOSÉIGNACIO LATORRE AI QUN LIU | 2023 | Photonics Research2023,11,10: | 0
