1Advancement and new perspectives of using formulated reactive amine blends for post-combustion carbon dioxide (CO_(2)) capture technologies显示文摘Chemical absorption using amine-based solvents have proven to be the most studied,as well as the most reliable and efficient technology for capturing carbon dioxide(CO_(2))from exhaust gas streams and synthesis gas in all combustion and industrial processes.The application of single amine-based solvents especially the very reactive monoethanolamine(MEA)is associated with a parasitic energy demand for solvent regeneration.Since regeneration energy accounts for up to threeequarters of the plant operating cost,efforts in its reduction have prompted the idea of using blended amine solvents.This review paper highlights the success achieved in blending amine solvents and the recent and future technologies aimed at increasing the overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient,absorption rate,cyclic capacity and greatly minimizing both degradation and the energy for solvent regeneration.The importance of amine biodegradability(BOD)and low ecotoxicity as well as low amine volatility is also highlighted.Costs and energy penalty indices that influences the capital and operating costs of CO_(2) capture process was also highlighted.A new experimental method for simultaneously estimating amine cost,degradation rate,regeneration energy and reclaiming energy is also proposed in this review paper.Chikezie Nwaoha Teeradet Supap Raphael Idem Chintana Saiwan Paitoon Tontiwachwuthikul Mohammed JAL-Marri Abdelbaki Benamor 2017Petroleum2017,3,1:4
2Simultaneous removal of Congo red and cadmium(Ⅱ) from aqueous solutions using graphene oxide–silica composite as a multifunctional adsorbent显示文摘Graphene oxide is a very high capacity adsorbent due to its functional groups and π-π interactions with other compounds. Adsorption capacity of graphene oxide, however, can be further enhanced by having synergistic effects through the use of mixed-matrix composite. In this study, silica-decorated graphene oxide(SGO) was used as a high-efficiency adsorbent to remove Congo red(CR) and Cadmium(Ⅱ) from aqueous solutions. The effects of solution initial concentration(20 to 120 mg/l), solution pH(pH 2 to 7), adsorption duration(0 to 140 min) and temperature(298 to 323 K) were measured in order to optimize the adsorption conditions using the SGO adsorbent. Morphological analysis indicated that the silica nanoparticles could be dispersed uniformly on the graphene oxide surfaces. The maximum capacities of adsorbent for effective removal of Cd(Ⅱ) and CR were 43.45 and 333.33 mg/g based on Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms, respectively. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms displayed the highest values of Q max for CR and Cd(Ⅱ) adsorption in this study, which indicated monolayer adsorption of CR and multilayer adsorption of Cd(II) onto the SGO, respectively. Thermodynamic study showed that the enthalpy( H) and Gibbs free energy( G) values of the adsorption process for both pollutants were negative, suggesting that the process was spontaneous and exothermic in nature. 4A review on the rheology of heavy crude oil for pipeline transportation显示文摘Given the combination of rising global energy demand and the decline in conventional crudes, heavycrudes are generally considered to be the future energy resource. In many regions of the world, heavycrude oil must be transported through pipelines from the point of production to storage facilities orrefineries. The transportation of heavy crude oil by pipeline poses serious problems related to the highviscosity and flow difficulties, particularly in cold climates or offshore conditions. Indeed, the viscosity ofcrude oil is an important physical property that influences and controls crude oil flow in pipelines.Viscosity introduces resistance to movement by causing a shear or frictional force between the fluidparticles and the boundary walls. This high viscosity means that the pumping power requirements forcrude oil in a long-distance pipeline are very high in order to overcome the increasing shear and frictionforces. Therefore, in order to facilitate the pumping of these viscous oils and reduce operating expensesand the negative impact of pressure drops in pipelines during flow and processing, their viscosity mustbe reduced. Various techniques are used to increase pumping efficiency and improve the flow of crude oilthrough the pipeline, which may present logistical, technical or economic disadvantages for a givenapplication. The main ones are the addition of surfactants or polymers, dilution with lighter crudes, useof water as annular fluid, thermal remediation and emulsification with surfactant (O/W). 11灌溉/降雨渠道中的水力发电水轮机的试验研究显示文摘The development of microchannels with open flow for use in irrigation and rainy areas is challenged by electricity generation via hydrokinetic devices in shallow and low velocity flows.Conventional hydrokinetic turbines are known to be highly dependent on current speed and water depth.Another drawback of conventional turbines is their low efficiency.These shortcomings lead to the need to accelerate the flow in the channel system to enhance the extracted power.The method of deploying a novel turbine configuration in irrigation channels can help overcome the low performance of conventional hydrokinetic turbines.Therefore,this study experimentally presents a bidirectional diffuser-augmented channel that includes dual cross flow/Banki turbines.Results show that the maximum efficiency of the overall system with two turbines is nearly 55.7%.The efficiency is low relative to that of hydraulic turbines.Nevertheless,the result can be considered satisfactory given the low head of the present system.The use of this system will contribute to a highly efficient utilization of flows in rivers and channels for electrical energy generation in rural areas.Aly Hassan Abdelbaky Elbatran Omar B.Yaakob Yasser M.Ahmed 2021Journal of Marine Science and Application2021,20,1:1

18Community Detection Applications in Mobile Networks:Towards Data-Driven Design for Next Generation Cellular Networks显示文摘The existing radio access network(RAN)is facing many challenges to meet the very strict speed and latency requirements by different mobile applications in addition to the increasing pressure to reduce operating cost.Innovation and development in RAN have been accelerated to tackle these challenges and to define how next generation mobile networks should look like.The role of machine learning(ML)and artificial intelligence(AI)driven innovations within the RAN domain is strengthening and attracting lots of attention to tackle many of the challenging problems.In this paper we surveyed RAN network base stations(BSs)clustering and its applications in the literature.The paper also demonstrates how to leverage community detection algorithms to understand underlying community structures within RAN.Tracking areas(TAs)novel framework was developed by adapting existing community detection algorithm to solve the problem of statically partitioning a set of BSs into TA according to mobility patterns.Finally,live network dataset in dense urban part of Cairo is used to assess how the developed framework is used to partition this part of the network more efficiently compared to other clustering techniques.Results obtained showed that the new methodology saved up to 34.6%of inter TA signaling overhead and surpassing other conventional clustering algorithms.Ayman Gaber Nashwa Abdelbaki Tamer Arafa 2023Journal of Communications and Information Networks2023,8,2:0
