1Effects of Gibberellic Acid on Primary Terpenoids and △^9 -Tetrahydrocannabinol in Cannabis sativa at Flowering Stage显示文摘Plants synthesize an astonishing diversity of isoprenoids,some of which play essential roles in photosynthesis,respiration,and the regulation of growth and development.Two independent pathways for the biosynthesis of isoprenoid precursors coexist within the plant cell: the cytosolic mevalonic acid (MVA) pathway and the plastidial methylerythritol phosphate (MEP) pathway.However,little is known about the effects of plant hormones on the regulation of these pathways.In the present study we investigated the effect of gibberellic acid (GA3) on changes in the amounts of many produced terpenoids and the activity of the key enzymes,1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate synthase (DXS) and 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMGR),in these pathways.Our results showed GA3 caused a decrease in DXS activity in both sexes that it was accompanied by a decrease in chlorophylls,carotenoids and 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) contents and an increase in α-tocopherol content.The treated plants with GA3 showed an increase in HMGR activity.This increase in HMGR activity was followed by accumulation of stigmasterol and β-sitosterol in male and female plants and campestrol in male plants.The pattern of the changes in the amounts of sterols was exactly similar to the changes in the HMGR activity.These data suggest that GA3 can probably influence the MEP and MVA pathways oppositely,with stimulatory and inhibitory effects on the produced primary terpenoids in MVA and DXS pathways,respectively.Hakimeh Mansouri Zahra Asrar Mitra Mehrabani 2009Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,6:8
2Simultaneous investigation of blast induced ground vibration and airblast effects on safety level of structures and human in surface blasting显示文摘The significance of studying, monitoring and predicting blast induced vibration and noise level in mining and civil activities is justified in the capability of imposing damages, sense of uncertainty due to negative psychological impacts on involved personnel and also judicial complaints of local inhabitants in the nearby area. This paper presents achieved results during an investigation carried out at Sungun Copper Mine, Iran. Besides, the research also studied the significance of blast induced ground vibration and airblast on safety aspects of nearby structures, potential risks, frequency analysis, and human response.According to the United States Bureau of Mines(USBM) standard, the attenuation equations were developed using field records. A general frequency analysis and risk evaluation revealed that: 94% of generated frequencies are less than 14 Hz which is within the natural frequency of structures that increases risk of damage. At the end, studies of human response showed destructive effects of the phenomena by ranging between 2.54 and 25.40 mm/s for ground vibrations and by the average value of 110 dB for noise levels which could increase sense of uncertainty among involved employees.Faramarzi Farhad Ebrahimi Farsangi Mohammad Ali Mansouri Hamid 2014International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2014,24,5:7
3Hot compression deformation behavior of AISI 321 austenitic stainless steel显示文摘The hot compression behavior of AISI 321 austenitic stainless steel was studied at the temperatures of 950- 1100 C and the strain rates of 0.01-1s1 using a Baehr DIL-805 deformation dilatometer. The hot deformation equations and the relationship between hot deformation parameters were obtained. It is found that strain rate and deformation temperature significantly influence the flow stress behavior of the steel. The work hardening rate and the peak value of flow stress increase with the decrease of deformation temperature and the increase of strain rate. In addition, the activation energy of deformation (Q) is calculated as 433.343kJ/mol. The microstructural evolution during deformation indicates that, at the temperature of 950C and the strain rate of 0.01s1 , small circle-like precipitates form along grain boundaries; but at the temperatures above 950C, the dissolution of such precipitates occurs. 4Ocular trauma treated with pars plana vitrectomy: early outcome report显示文摘AIM: To evaluate demographic variables and visual outcomes, among patients with ocular injuries involving the posterior segment, managed with pars plana vitrectomy.· METHODS: The records of patients were studied retrospectively from March to September 2010, to determine the age, gender, place of occurrence of trauma, visual acuity, anatomical site, nature of injury,wound length, the presence of an afferent pupillary defect, and the timing of vitrectomy. The Ocular Trauma Score was measured. The minimum follow-up from presentation was 6mo.·RESULTS: Ninety patients(77 males, 13 females), with a mean age of 32.7 ±15.8y were included over the 6-month period. The majority of cases occurred in the workplace(47 patients), followed by home(14 patients).The mean visual acuity(log MAR) of patients significantly improved from 2.36 ±0.72 preoperatively to 1.50 ±1.14 postoperatively. Twenty-three patients had preoperative vision better than 2.0 log MAR, the postoperative visual acuity was significantly better among these patients than patients with worse than 2.0 log MAR(P <0.001). Visual improvement between groups with early vitrectomy(<7d)and delayed vitrectomy(>7d) was not significantly different(P =0.66). Postoperative visual acuity was not significantly different between patients with injury in Zone I and II(P =0.64), but patients with injury in Zone III had significantly poorer visual acuity(P =0.02). Patients with relative afferent pupillary defect had significantly poorer postoperative visual acuity(P =0.02). Preoperative visual acuity, the difference of preoperative and postoperative visual acuity, and postoperative visualacuity were significantly different between groups with different ocular trauma scores(P <0.001).·CONCLUSION: Trauma is more likely to occur in men under 40 y of age and in the workplace. 7Effects of modified graphene oxide(GO) nanofluid on wettability and IFT changes: Experimental study for EOR applications显示文摘The application of nanoparticles(NPs) in enhanced oil recovery(EOR) offers a practical approach to resolving some surface-related problems encountered in contemporary technological processes. In this study, graphene oxide nanosheets(GONs) were synthesized by Hummer's method and, then, were subjected to surface modification by hexamethyldisilazane(HMDS) and diazonium sulfonic(DS) compounds. The new combination was known as GO-Su-HMDS. The potential stability of GO-Su-HMDS nanofluids(NFs) was investigated using the zeta(ζ) potential test. A comparative study of the effect of the synthesized NFs on wettability alteration of the reservoir rock was performed using interfacial tension(IFT) and contact angle experiments. According to the results of this study, the contact angle decreased from the initial value of 161.(oil wet) to 35.(water wet). In addition, IFT decreased from18.45 mN/m for deionized(DI) water to 8.8 mN/m for 500 ppm GO-Su-HMDS NF. Moreover, the results of flooding experiments showed that the NPs of a GO-Su-HMDS concentration of 400 and 500 ppm could increase the oil recovery by 20% and 19%, respectively. The experimental results showed that GO-SuHMDS NFs with a concentration of 500 ppm have the best efficiency in terms of altering the wettability of the rock from oil wet to water wet. 11New rat to mouse xenograft transplantation of endometrium as a model of human endometriosis显示文摘Background:Endometriosis can lead to infertility.Since there is no definitive treat-ment for endometriosis,animal modelling seems necessary to examine the possible treatments.Mouse endometrium cannot be separated for endometriosis induc-tion.In addition,transplantation of uterus into the abdominal viscera to induce endometriosis causes organ damage.In this study,we defined a new model of en-dometriosis leading to separability of endometrium and a safe anatomical region for transplantation.Methods:Forty female mice were allocated to 5 groups:1,sham;2,allograft uterus transplantation of mice to anterior abdominal wall of mice;3,allograft uterus trans-plantation of mice to mesentery of mice;4,xenograft endometrial transplantation of rat to anterior abdominal wall of mice;5,xenograft endometrial transplantation of rat to mesentery of mice.Adult female rats with a previous pregnancy experience were selected and placed in the vicinity of male rats for 2 weeks to induce estrogen secre-tion and increase endometrial thickness.Results:In the 4th group of animals,compared to sham,the peritoneal concentrations of VEGF-A,TNF-α,NO,MDA,and serum levels of CA-125 and IL-37 were increased and total body weight was decreased,while weight and size of endometrial lesions were increased significantly(P<.05).Genes expression of HOXA10 and HOXA11 were decreased significantly(P<.05)in groups 2 and 4 compared to sham.Conclusions:Xenograft transplantation of endometrium from rat to anterior abdomi-nal wall of mice can potentially mimic human endometriosis morphologically,histo-logically,and genetically.Amir Abdolmaleki Cyrus Jalili Kamran Mansouri Mitra Bakhtiari 2021Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2021,4,3:2
12Single intratesticular injection of blood-serum-derived exosomes can potentially alleviate testopathy following testicular torsion显示文摘Background:Testicular torsion(TT)is an acute inflammatory process leading to male infertility.Today,anti-i nflammatory effects of exosomes derived from blood serum are used in various laboratory procedures.In the present study,the anti-i nflammatory effects of blood-serum-derived exosomes in treatment of acute inflammation following TT in mice were evaluated.Materials and Methods:Eighteen male mice were grouped as healthy control,TT,and TT+exosome.TT was induced surgically,and exosomes were extracted from blood serum and administrated by a single intratesticular injection(10 IU).Malondialdehyde(MDA)and Griess assays were used to evaluate the level of oxidative stress.Sperm indices,testosterone(Tes),and apoptotic gene expression(p-53,Bcl2,and Caspase-3)were also assessed.H&E and immunohistochemistry(IHC)stainings were used for histopathological investigations.Data analysis was applied by SPSS(v.19)software.Results:Oxidative stress and apoptotic genes expression were increased significantly(p<0.05)in TT group compared with control.Sperm parameters and Tes were significantly increased,and expression of apoptotic genes was significantly reduced in TT+exosome group(p<0.05).Conclusion:Since the blood-serum-derived exosomes have anti-i nflammatory features,the intratesticular application of blood-serum-derived exosomes can be used clinically in acute phase of orchitis following TT to inhibit testicular inflammation.Mona Keivan Fatemeh Mansouri Torghabeh Samira Davoodi Shima Moradi Maryamneghari Reza Dadfar 2022Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022,5,4:2
