1Formation mechanism of streamer discharges in liquids:a review显示文摘Streamer discharges in liquids have received lots of attention with respect to their considerable applications invarious disciplines. Much effort has been spent to understand the basis of streamer ignition and propagation in dielectricliquids, but a comprehensive mechanism is far from conclusive. 2A gelatin-based artificial SEI for lithium deposition regulation and polysulfide shuttle suppression in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S) battery is one of the best candidates for the next-generation energy storage system due to its high theoretical capacity(1675 mA h-1),low cost and environment friendliness.However,lithium(Li) dendrites formation and polysulfide shuttle effect are two major challenges that limit the commercialization of Li-S batteries.Here we design a facile bifunctional interlayer of gelatin-based fibers(GFs),aiming to protect the Li anode surface from the dendrites growth and also hinder the polysulfide shuttle effect.We reveal that the 3D structural network of GFs layer with abundant polar sites helps to homogenize Li-ion flux,leading to uniform Li-ion deposition.Meanwhile,the polar moieties also immobilize the lithium polysulfides and protect the Li metal from the side-reaction.As a result,the anodeprotected batteries have shown significantly enhanced performance.A high coulombic efficiency of 96% after 160 cycles has been achieved in the Li-Cu half cells.The Li-Li symmetric cells exhibit a prolonged lifespan for 800 h with voltage hysteresis(10 mV).With the as-prepared GFs layer,the Li-S battery shows approximately 14% higher capacity retention than the pristine battery at 0.5 C after 100 cycles.Our work presents that this gelatin-based bi-functional interlayer provides a viable strategy for the manufacturing of advanced Li-S batteries.Naseem Akhtar Xiaogang Sun Muhammad Yasir Akram Fakhar Zaman Weikun Wang Anbang Wang Long Chen Hao Zhang Yuepeng Guan Yaqin Huang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,1:5
3Attapulgite nanorods assisted surface engineering for separator to achieve high-performance lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have been recognized as one of the most promising candidates for nextgeneration portable electronic devices,owing to their extremely high energy density and low cost.However,the dissolution of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)and consequent'shuttle effect'seriously hinder the practical deployment of Li-S batteries.Herein,multi-metal oxide nanorods named attapulgite are proposed as multifunctional ionic sieve to immobilize LiPSs and further promote the regulation of LiPSs.Attapulgite,consisting of Al,Mg,Fe,Si and O ions,possesses more polar sites to immobilize LiPSs in comparison with single metal oxides.In addition,the catalytic nature(Fe ions)of attapulgite avails the LiPSs conversion reaction,which is further confirmed by the linear sweep voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.Benefited from the synergistic effect of multi-metal oxide and conductive carbon,the Li-S battery with the modified separator delivers remarkable discharge capacities of 1059.4 mAh g-1 and 792.5 mAh g-1 for the first and 200th cycle at 0.5 C,respectively.The work presents an effective way to improve the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries by employing attapulgite nanorods assisted separator surface engineering.Wenhao Sun Xiaogang Sun Naseem Akhtar Chengming Li Weikun Wang Anbang Wang Kai Wang Yaqin Huang 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,9:4

5Particle simulation of grid system for krypton ion thrusters显示文摘The transport processes of plasmas in grid systems of krypton(Kr) ion thrusters at different acceleration voltages were simulated with a 3 D-PIC model, and the result was compared with xenon(Xe) ion thrusters. The variation of the screen grid transparency, the accelerator grid current ratio and the divergence loss were explored. It is found that the screen grid transparency increases with the acceleration voltage and decreases with the beam current, while the accelerator grid current ratio and divergence loss decrease first and then increase with the beam current. This result is the same with Xe ion thrusters. Simulation results also show that Kr ion thrusters have more advantages than Xe ion thrusters, such as higher screen grid transparency, smaller accelerator grid current ratio, larger cut-off current threshold, and better divergence loss characteristic. These advantages mean that Kr ion thrusters have the ability of operating in a wide range of current. 6Multiple description video coding based on residuum compensation显示文摘As one of the focus areas of robust video coding and transmission, multiple description video coding has attracted comprehensive attention. The low coding efficiency of multiple description video coding is always the major challenge in this field. In order to improve the performance of multiple description video coding, this paper proposes a scheme based on residuum compensation. In this scheme, each original video frame is encoded with a traditional encoder first to get the first description. Then the error residuum of each coded frame is added up to the corresponding original frame and the resulting compensated frame is encoded by another traditional encoder to generate the second description successively. This work uses JM10.0 of H.264/AVC as video coding codec to conduct the experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme has good coding performance. 7Chaos synchronization of semiconductor lasers over 1040-km fiber relay transmission with hybrid amplification显示文摘Optical chaos communication and key distribution have been extensively demonstrated with high-speed advantage but only within the metropolitan-area network range of which the transmission distance is restricted to around 300 km.For secure-transmission requirement of the backbone fiber link,the critical threshold is to realize long-reach chaos synchronization.Here,we propose and demonstrate a scheme of long-reach chaos synchronization using fiber relay transmission with hybrid amplification of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA)and a distributed fiber Raman amplifier(DFRA).Experiments and simulations show that the hybrid amplification extends the chaos-fidelity transmission distance thanks to that the low-noise DFRA suppresses the amplified spontaneous emission noise and self-phase modulation.Optimizations of the hybrid-relay conditions are studied,including launching power,gain ratio of DFRA to EDFA,single-span fiber length,and number of fiber span.A 1040-km chaos synchronization with a synchronization coefficient beyond 0.90 is experimentally achieved,which underlies the backbone network-oriented optical chaos communication and key distribution.LONGSHENG WANG JUNLI WANG YUSHAN WU YUEHUI SUN SONGSUI LI LIANSHAN YAN YUNCAI WANG ANBANG WANG 2023Photonics Research2023,11,6:1

10Mechanism of capture section affecting an intake for atmosphere-breathing electric propulsion显示文摘Atmosphere-Breathing Electric Propulsion(ABEP)can compensate for lost momentum of spacecraft operating in Very Low Earth Orbit(VLEO)which has been widely concerned due to its excellent commercial potential.It is a key technology to improve the capture efficiency of intakes,which collect and compress the atmosphere for ABEP.In this paper,the mechanism of the capture section affecting capture efficiency is investigated by Test Particle Monte Carlo(TPMC)simulations with 3D intake models.The inner surface smoothness and average collision number are determined to be key factors affecting capture efficiency,and a negative effect growth model is accordingly established.When the inner surface smoothness is less than 0.2,the highest capture efficiency and its corresponding average collision number interval are independent of the capture section’s geometry and its mesh size.When the inner surface smoothness is higher than 0.2,the capture efficiency will decrease by installing any capture section.Based on the present results,the manufacturing process and material selection are suggested to be prioritized during the intake geometry design in engineering projects.Then,the highest capture efficiency can be achieved by adjusting the length and mesh size of the capture section.Siyuan ZHANG Jinyuan YANG Cheng LI Haolin LI Liwei ZHANG Liang DING Anbang SUN 2024Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2024,37,1:0
11Streamer‐to‐precursor transition in N_(2)-SF_(6)mixtures under positive repetitive submicrosecond pulses显示文摘The evolution of discharge dynamics in N_(2)-SF_(6)mixtures under long‐term repetitive submicrosecond pulses is investigated based on pulse‐sequence resolved electrical and optical diagnostics.The effects of gas pressure,pulse repetition frequency(PRF),and SF6 concentration on discharge evolutions are determined.The number of applied pulses before breakdown is shown to non‐linearly decrease with increasing PRF for all included gas pressures and SF6 concentrations.A higher SF6 concentration is favourable for increasing relative insulation capability under repetitive pulses.Unexpected complexities of discharge evolutions under repetitive pulses are reported for the first time for the discharge mechanism transition when a strong electronegative gas is introduced.A pulse‐to‐pulse progressive streamer(first discharge)‐to‐precursor(before breakdown)transition is observed in an N_(2)-SF_(6)mixture under positive repetitive pulses and is less dependent on gas pressure than traditional scenarios.The formation of a precursor section is jointly supported by electrical and optical signatures.The discharge mechanism transition and the detour phenomenon under repetitive pulses are discussed based on the effects of space charges on the spatial distribution of the electric field strength.Zheng Zhao Zhifeng Dai Anbang Sun Jiangtao Li 2022High Voltage2022,7,2:0
12A naked-eye colorimetric sensor for chloroform显示文摘A phenoxazine based molecule termed SP has been synthesized and used as selective sensor for halogenated solvents. This molecule shows selective fast response towards halogenated solvent via naked-eye detectable chromism. SP shows colorless solution when dissolved in most solvents initially but changes to blue color in chloroform under UV irradiation(λ = 365 nm) within 5 s. The luminescence spectra of SP in halogenated solvent show a large bathochromic shift(> 100 nm) with 60-fold enhanced emission intensity compared to that in halogen-free solvents. It is also worth mentioning that the photoinduced reaction between SP molecule and the halogenated solvents occurred.
