| 15 | Utilization of Acai Berry Residual Biomass for Extraction of Lignocellulosic Byproducts显示文摘According to the National Company of Supplying(CONAB)in 2017 alone,the national production of acai pulp reached 219855 t,equating to 180 million dollar(USD).Almost 85%of the weight of fruit is constituted by residual biomass,even though researches have highlighted important applications for this biomass,most of it is discarded as organic waste.Thus,it is relevant to envisage in-depth studies about how to use these residues,particularly regarding the environmental impact of its target destination.Nanocrystalline cellulose(CNC)and lignin are organic derivatives obtained through the physical-chemical treatment of lignocellulosic biomass.Both are abundant and currently considered as biopolymers because of their structural characteristics and their diverse applications in food and the medical field.This work presents the mass yields achieved and the physical-chemical characteristics of the lignocellulosic derivatives extracted from the fiber of the acai berry.A statistical design was used to define the influence of process variables as temperature,reaction time and fiber size on the yield of these byproducts.A maximum yield close to 64%of type I CNC,with 45%of crystallinity degree was achieved at the minimum condition of temperature and fiber size.Additionally,through rheological analysis,it was possible to predict the nanocrystal aspect ratios,ranging from 71 to 125.The extracted lignin was rich in methoxy groups,p-coumaryl alcohol and p-coumaric acid,and its structural unit’s low state of aggregation can be an indication of low molecular weight,which envisions an appropriate use for this lignin to produce commodity chemicals. | Lamia Zuniga Linan Anne C.Mendonça Cidreira Cláudia Quintino da Rocha Fabrícia Farias de Menezes George J de Moraes Rocha Antônio E Macedo Paiva | 2021 | Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts2021,6,4: | 0 |
| 16 | Evolution of a Holocene banner bank controlled by morphodynamics and structural setting of a macrotidal coast: Saint-Brieuc Bay (NW-Europe)显示文摘The morphology and internal structure of the Horaine Bank(Bay of Saint-Brieuc,NW France)are described based on multibeam echosounder and high-resolution seismic datasets coupled with vibro-core data.The Horaine Bank shows large-scale bedforms in the lee of a submerged rocky shoal,which allowed defining it as a Banner Bank.The internal structure of the sandbank reveals four seismic units(U1-U4)on a Cambrian basement(U0).The basal unit U1 is interpreted as reworked lowstand fluvial sediments those infilled micro incised valleys during a rise in sea level.This unit is overlain by paleo-coastal barrier sand-spit(U2)whose development was controlled by swell in the context of a rapid rise in sea level.The successive prograding unit(U3)is interpreted as flooding deposits in continuity with unit U2.The unit U4 is characterized by oblique reflectors oriented in two opposite directions.This last unit,dated post 3500 yr BP,corresponds to migrating dunes superimposed on the bank and observable in the high-resolution bathymetric data.The strong correlation between tidal currents and the apparent clockwise migration of dune crests suggests the presence of a tidal gyre controlling the present-day dynamics of most of the Horaine bank dunes.This study proposes a new model for the construction of banner banks characterized by the gradual transition of a sand spit to a banner bank during marine transgression and ensuing hydrodynamic variability. | Kalil Traoréa David Menier Erwan Gensac Pascal Le Roy Clément Lambert Paul Bessin Kevin Pedoja Anne Duperret Romain Le Gall | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,5: | 0 |
