1Plant HP1 protein ADCP1 links multivalent H3K9 methylation readout to heterochromatin formation显示文摘Heterochromatin Protein 1 (HP1) recognizes histone H3 lysine 9 methylation (H3K9me) through its conserved chromodomain and maintains heterochromatin from fission yeast to mammals. However, in Arabidopsis, Like Heterochromatin Protein 1 (LHP1) recognizes and colocalizes genome-wide with H3K27me3, and is the functional homolog of Polycomb protein. This raises the question whether genuine HP1 homologs exist in plants. Here, we report on the discovery of ADCP1, a plant-specific triple tandem Agenet protein, as a multivalent H3K9me reader in Arabidopsis, and establish that ADCP1 is essential for heterochromatin formation and transposon silencing through modulating H3K9 and DNA methylation levels. Structural studies revealed the molecular basis underlying H3K9me-specific recognition by tandem Agenet of ADCP1. Similar to human HP1α and fly HP1a, ADCP1 mediates heterochromatin phase separation. 2Responses of Cloud-Radiative Forcing to Strong El Nino Events over the Western Pacific Warm Pool as Simulated by CAMS-CSM显示文摘Cloud-radiative forcing(CRF)at the top of the atmosphere(TOA)over the western Pacific warm pool(WP)shows unique characteristics in response to El Nino events.In this region,the responses of CRF to El Nino events have been a useful metric for evaluating climate models.Satellite data are used to analyze the CRF anomalies to El Nino events simulated by the new and old versions of the Climate System Model of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences(CAMS-CSM),which has participated in the Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project(AMIP).Here,simulations for super El Nino years,El Nino years,and normal years are compared with observations.The results show that the mean values of both longwave CRF(LWCRF)and shortwave CRF(SWCRF)in CAMS-CSM are weaker than the observations for each category of El Nino events.Compared with the old version of CAMS-CSM,the decrease in LWCRF during El Nino events is well simulated by the new version of CAMS-CSM.However,both new and old models cannot reproduce the anomalous SWCRF in El Nino events.The biases in the CRF response to El Nino events are attributed to the biases in the cloud vertical structure because of a weaker crash of the Walker circulation in CAMS-CSM.Due to the modification of the conversion rate from cloud droplets to raindrops in the cumulus convection scheme,the new version of CAMS-CSM has better CRF skills in normal years,but biases in El Nino events still exist in the new version.Improving the response of the Walker circulation to El Nino events is key to higher skills in simulating the cloud radiative responses.Baichao ZHANG Zhun GUO Xiaolong CHEN Tianjun ZHOU Xinyao RONG Jian LI 2020Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,3:2
3Mechanical Analysis and Performance Optimization for the Lunar Rover’s Vane-Telescopic Walking Wheel显示文摘It is well-known that optimizing the wheel system of lunar rovers is essential.However,this is a difficult task due to the complex terrain of the moon and limited resources onboard lunar rovers.In this study,an experimental prototype was set up to analyze the existing mechanical design of a lunar rover and improve its performance.First,a new vane-telescopic walking wheel was proposed for the lunar rover with a positive and negative quadrangle suspension,considering the complex terrain of the moon.Next,the performance was optimized under the limitations of preserving the slope passage and minimizing power consumption.This was achieved via analysis of the wheel force during movement.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed method was demonstrated by several simulation experiments.The newly designed wheel can protrude on demand and reduce energy consumption;it can be used as a reference for lunar rover development engineering in China.Lu Yang Bowen Cai Ronghui Zhang Kening Li Zixian Zhang Jiehao Lei Baichao Chen Rongben Wang 2020Engineering2020,6,8:1

5Deep belief network-based drug identification using near infrared spectroscopy显示文摘Near infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)analysis technology,combined with chemometrics,can be effectively used in quick and nondestructive analysis of quality and category.In this paper,an effective drug identification method by using deep belief network(DBN)with dropout mecha-nism(dropout-DBN)to model NIRS is introduced,in which dropout is employed to overcome the overfitting problem coming from the small sample.This paper tests proposed method under datasets of different sizes with the example of near infrared diffuse refectance spectroscopy of erythromycin ethylsuccinate drugs and other drugs,aluminum and nonaluminum packaged.Meanwhile,it gives experiments to compare the proposed method's performance with back propagation(BP)neural network,support vector machines(SVMs)and sparse denoising auto-encoder(SDAE).The results show that for both binary classification and multi-classification,dropout mechanism can improve the classification accuracy,and dropout-DBN can achieve best classification accuracy in almost all cases.SDAE is similar to dropout-DBN in the aspects of classification accuracy and algorithm stability,which are higher than that of BP neural network and SVM methods.In terms of training time,dropout-DBN model is superior to SDAE model,but inferior to BP neural network and SVM methods.Therefore,dropout-DBN can be used as a modeling tool with effective binary and multi-class classification performance on a spectrum sample set of small size.Huihua Yang Baichao Hu Xipeng Pan Shengke Yan Yanchun Feng Xuebo Zhang Lihui Yin Changqin Hu 2017Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2017,,2:1
6Field measurement of wind characteristics and induced tree response during strong storms显示文摘Typhoons have caused considerable damage to individual tree and forest ecosystems.To reduce windinduced tree damage and better predict the risk of damage,improving our understanding of wind-tree interactions during strong wind conditions is important.To this purpose,wind characteristics and movements of an individual Betula platyphylla Suk.in a forest stand were monitored during three typhoons(Bavi,Maysak and Haishen).Results revealed that the average wind twists with increasing height,with a large twist gradient within the canopy and a small twist gradient outside the canopy.The maximum wind twist angle was approximately 110°.The disturbance of trees increases the turbulence intensity of the wind field in the canopy.The maximum power of the wind spectra and the turbulence anisotropy of the three turbulence components decrease with increasing height.B.platyphylla did not resonate with the wind in any of the typhoons but responded strongly to gusts near its free vibration peak frequencies.The peak frequency of the mechanical transfer function of B.platyphylla is essentially the same as the peak frequency of the response power spectra.The mechanical transfer func-tion of the wind-induced response of the tree is almost the same as the transfer function of the damped harmonic oscil-lator which has similar characteristics to coniferous trees.Haixin Jiang Hongfu Zhang Dabo Xin Yagebai Zhao Junliang Cao Baichao Wu Yikun Su 2022Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,5:0
