1Effect of fructooligosaccharides on the colonization of Lactobacillus rhamnosus AS 1.2466^(T) in the gut of mice显示文摘Lactobacillus rhamnosus and fructooligosaccharides(FOS)have been widely studied so far.However,the effects of L.rhamnosus on the intestinal microecological environment at the species level and the effect of different proportions of FOS on L.rhamnosus colonization in different parts of mice intestine are still unclear.The study results indicated that the specific bands of enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus polymerase chain reaction(ERIC-PCR)in the L.rhamnosus(LR)group significantly increased at 7 days.Although the number of bands was similar to the natural recovery(NR)group,the brightness of few bands significantly enhanced in the later stage of recovery.Besides,Southern-blot maps showed strong signals,indicating that the ERIC-PCR fingerprint could accurately reflect the changes in the mouse gut microbiota diversity.Further,the high-throughput results confirmed that the Lactobacillus and Akkermansia had different changes at different periods,but all of them showed an upward trend,while the Klebsiella were inhibited,thereby maintaining the intestinal microecology balance.Moreover,FOS exerted a positive effect on L.rhamnosus colonization in the gut.Zhihua Niu Meijuan Zou Tingting Bei Na Zhang Dongyao Li Miaoshu Wang Chen Li Hongtao Tian 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,2:3

4Clinical application of free/total PSA ratio in the diagnosis of prostate cancer in men over 50 years of age with total PSA levels of 2.0-25.0 ng ml^(−1) in Western China显示文摘The goal of this study was to investigate the clinical application of free/total prostate-specific antigen(F/T PSA)ratio,considering the new broad serum total PSA(T-PSA)“gray zone”of 2.0–25.0 ng ml^(−1)in differential diagnosis of prostate cancer(PCa)and benign prostate diseases(BPD)in men over 50 years in Western China.A total of 1655 patients were included,528 with PCa and 1127 with BPD.Serum T-PSA,free PSA(F-PSA),and F/T PSA ratio were analyzed.Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to assess the efficiency of PSA and F/T PSA ratio.There were 47.4%of cancer patients with T-PSA of 2.0–25.0 ng ml^(−1).When T-PSA was 2.0–4.0 ng ml^(−1),4.0–10.0 ng ml^(−1),and 10.0–25.0 ng ml^(−1),the area under the curve(AUC)of F/T PSA ratio was 0.749,0.769,and 0.761,respectively.The best AUC of F/T PSA ratio was 0.811 when T-PSA was 2.0–25.0 ng ml^(−1),with a specificity of 0.732,a sensitivity of 0.788,and an optimal cutoff value of 15.5%.The AUC of F/T PSA ratio in different age groups(50–59 years,60–69 years,70–79 years,and≥80 years)was 0.767,0.806,0.815,and 0.833,respectively,and the best sensitivity(0.857)and specificity(0.802)were observed in patients over 80 years.The T-PSA trend was in accordance with the Gleason score,tumor node metastasis(TNM)stage,and American Joint Committee on Cancer prognosis group.Therefore,the F/T PSA ratio can facilitate the differential diagnosis of PCa and BPD in the broad T-PSA“gray zone”.Serum T-PSA can be a Gleason score and prognostic indicator.Xue-Dan Gao Qiang Miao Jun-Long Zhang Jian-Zhao Zhai Xue-Mei Gui Yi-Han Cai Qian Niu Bei Cai 2022Asian Journal of Andrology2022,24,2:2

8Study on Polyphenol Oxidase Activity and Total Phenol Content of Docynia indica显示文摘[Objectives] To study the polyphenol oxidase (PPO) activity and total phenol content of Docynia indica .[Methods] The tender branches and petioles of the medicinal and edible plant D. indica were used as experimental materials, and the annual changes of total phenol content and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) activity were analyzed.[Results] pH 7.0 was the optimum value of polyphenol oxidase activity in D. indica plants;the best substrate was catechol with the concentration of 0.15 mol/L;the optimum temperature was 25 ℃.[Conclusions] The total phenol content of D. indica plants was the lowest in April, May and September of each year. 12Effective Components of Dried Ginger in Warming Lung to Reduce Watery Phlegm and In vivo Tissue Distribution Based on the“Syndrome-Efficacy-Biological Sample Analysis”Method显示文摘Objective: This study aimed to investigate effective components of dried ginger(DG) in warming lung to reduce watery phlegm and in vivo tissue distribution on the syndrome of cold fluid retained in lung of rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) by means of the 'syndrome?efficacy?biological sample analysis' method and then to explore its meridian tropism. Methods: Wistar rats were given nasal drops of 200-μL lipopolysaccharide and smoke 30 min two times a day, then put the appropriate dose of ice water, and freeze for an hour to build model rats. On the 16 th day, the drug group was orally administered of DG(500 mg/mL) until the 30 th day. Blood samples and biological tissues were collected from the orbital venous plexus into heparinized hemostasis tubes at 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180, 240, and 360 min after the last administration. Using ultraviolet-high-performance liquid chromatography(Waters, USA) method, the effective components were tested, and DAS 3.0 software(Mathematical Pharmacology Professional Committee of China, Shanghai, China) was used to analyze the results. Results: The compounds of DG entering into blood were 6-gingerol, 6-shogaol, and 8-gingerol. Tissue distribution analysis indicates that three active ingredients are widely present in the lung, spleen, kidney, liver, heart, large intestine, stomach, small intestine, and other organs of rats with COPD. 13Linear Arboricity of NIC-Planar Graphs显示文摘A graph is NIC-planar if it admits a drawing in the plane with at most one crossing per edge and such that two pairs of crossing edges share at most one common end vertex. It is proved that every NIC-planar graph with minimum degree at least 2(resp. 3) contains either an edge with degree sum at most 23(resp. 17) or a 2-alternating cycle(resp. 3-alternating quadrilateral). 14Analysis of Seed Phenotypic and Metabolic Characteristics of Diploid and Tetraploid Tartary Buckwheat显示文摘Polyploid plants grow well,are stress tolerant,and are rich in nutrients and bioactive compounds.Thus,they are useful for improving crop quality and yield.In this study,we compared the seed characteristics and metabolite profiles of diploid and tetraploid tartary buckwheat,which was developed via an artificially induced chromosome doubling event.The length,width,area,and thousand-grain weight were greater for the tetraploid seeds than for the diploid seeds.However,the germination rate decreased for the tetraploid seeds.Additionally,there was a gap between the shell and kernel of the tetraploid seeds.Moreover,the water absorption rate was higher for the tetraploid than for the diploid seeds.Chromosome doubling increased the seed total flavonoid content and deepened the seed color.A principal component analysis of the ultrahigh-pressure liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry data revealed the clear separation between the diploid and tetraploid samples.An orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis and other multivariate statistical analyses identified 83 differentially abundant compounds,with most of the flavonoid metabolites more abundant in the tetraploid than in the diploid seeds.Research on tartary buckwheat polyploidy may result in enhanced germplasm resources and may clarify the mechanism underlying the biosynthesis of bioactive compounds.Xiaodong Shi Cong Wang Wenjian Li Hanlei Xiao Yanjie Li Bei Niu 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,9:0

17Observation and Analysis of VLF Nocturnal Multimode Interference Phenomenon based on Waveguide Mode Theory显示文摘Very low frequency(VLF)signals are propagated between the ground-ionosphere.Multimode interference will cause the phase to show oscillatory changes with distance while propagating at night,leading to abnormalities in the received VLF signal.This study uses the VLF signal received in Qingdao City,Shandong Province,from the Russian Alpha navigation system to explore the multimode interference problem of VLF signal propagation.The characteristics of the effect of multimode interference phenomena on the phase are analyzed according to the variation of the phase of the VLF signal.However,the phase of VLF signals will also be affected by the X-ray and energetic particles that are released during the eruption of solar flares,therefore the two phenomena are studied in this work.It is concluded that the X-ray will not affect the phase of VLF signals at night,but the energetic particles will affect the phase change,and the influence of energetic particles should be excluded in the study of multimode interference phenomena.Using VLF signals for navigation positioning in degraded or unavailable GPS conditions is of great practical significance for VLF navigation systems as it can avoid the influence of multimode interference and improve positioning accuracy.Sai Yang You-Tian Niu Zhe Wang Xiu-Kun Zhao Bei Li Yu-Ling Ding Ge-Ge Zhao An-Qi Zhang 2024Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2024,24,1:0
18Comparative Analysis of the Transcriptome and Metabolome in Leaves of Diploid and Tetraploid Fagopyrum tataricum显示文摘Tartary buckwheat(Fagopyrum tataricum)is a dual-purpose medicinal and food crop grown for its high contents of functional compounds and abundant nutrients.Although studies have shown the differences of total flavonoid content in Tartary buckwheat at different ploidy levels,the composition of flavonoid and its regulatory mechanisms are largely unknown.In this study,the leaf metabolome and transcriptome of diploid and tetraploid accessions of Tartary buckwheat were analyzed to gain insight into the impact of polyploidization on comparative secondary metabolite composition and molecular regulatory mechanism.Based on a widely targeted metabolomics analysis,a total of 792 metabolites were identified,including 127 flavonoids.The accumulation of 127 metabolites and expression of 3871 genes differed significantly between diploid and tetraploid Tartary buckwheat.Integrated metabolomics and transcriptome analysis revealed that chromosome doubling up-regulated the expression of upstream genes in the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway to promote the accumulation of flavonoids.The present results contribute to elucidation of the molecular mechanism of phenotypic variation associated with polyploidy in Tartary buckwheat.The findings provide a reference for further studies on phenotypic traits in polyploid Tartary buckwheat,the cloning of crucial regulatory genes,and utilization of genetic engineering technologies in the breeding of Tartary buckwheat.Xiaodong Shi Yue Qi Liangzhu Lin Jia Wang Xiaobo Qin Bei Niu 2023Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,11:0
