| 1 | Cooperative Formation Control of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles:An Overview显示文摘Formation control is a cooperative control concept in which multiple autonomous underwater mobile robots are deployed for a group motion and/or control mission.This paper presents a brief review on various cooperative search and formation control strategies for multiple autonomous underwater vehicles(AUV) based on literature reported till date.Various cooperative and formation control schemes for collecting huge amount of data based on formation regulation control and formation tracking control are discussed.To address the challenge of detecting AUV failure in the fleet,communication issues,collision and obstacle avoidance are also taken into attention.Stability analysis of the feasible formation is also presented.This paper may be intended to serve as a convenient reference for the further research on formation control of multiple underwater mobile robots. | Bikramaditya Das Bidyadhar Subudhi Bibhuti Bhusan Pati | 2016 | International Journal of Automation and computing2016,13,3: | 14 |
| 2 | A Comprehensive Review of Path Planning Algorithms for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles显示文摘The underwater path planning problem deals with finding an optimal or sub-optimal route between an origin point and a termination point in marine environments.The underwater environment is still considered as a great challenge for the path planning of autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs)because of its hostile and dynamic nature.The major constraints for path planning are limited data transmission capability,power and sensing technology available for underwater operations.The sea environment is subjected to a large set of challenging factors classified as atmospheric,coastal and gravitational.Based on whether the impact of these factors can be approximated or not,the underwater environment can be characterized as predictable and unpredictable respectively.The classical path planning algorithms based on artificial intelligence assume that environmental conditions are known apriori to the path planner.But the current path planning algorithms involve continual interaction with the environment considering the environment as dynamic and its effect cannot be predicted.Path planning is necessary for many applications involving AUVs.These are based upon planning safety routes with minimum energy cost and computation overheads.This review is intended to summarize various path planning strategies for AUVs on the basis of characterization of underwater environments as predictable and unpredictable.The algorithms employed in path planning of single AUV and multiple AUVs are reviewed in the light of predictable and unpredictable environments. | Madhusmita Panda Bikramaditya Das Bidyadhar Subudhi Bibhuti Bhusan Pati | 2020 | International Journal of Automation and computing2020,17,3: | 8 |
| 3 | Nutrient optimization for plant growth in Aquaponic irrigation using Machine Learning for small training datasets显示文摘With the recent trends in urban agriculture and climate change,there is an emerging need for alternative plant culture techniques where dependence on soil can be eliminated.Hydroponic and aquaponic growth techniques have proven to be viable alternatives,but the lack of efficient and optimal practices for irrigation and nutrient supply limits its applications on a large-scale commercial basis.The main purpose of this research was to develop statistical methods and Machine Learning algorithms to regulate nutrient concentrations in aquaponic irrigation water based on plant needs,for achieving optimal plant growth and promoting broader adoption of aquaponic culture on a commercial scale.One of the key challenges to developing these algorithms is the sparsity of data which requires the use of Bolstered error estimation approaches.In this paper,several linear and non-linear algorithms trained on relatively small datasets using Bolstered error estimation techniques were evaluated,for selecting the best method in making decisions regarding the regulation of nutrients in hydroponic environments.After repeated tests on the dataset,it was decided that Semi-Bolstered Resubstitution Error estimation technique works best in our case using Linear Support Vector Machine as the classifier with the value of penalty parameter set to one.A set of recommended rules have been prescribed as a Decision Support System,using the output of the Machine Learning algorithm,which have been tested against the results of the baseline model.Further,the positive impact of the recommended nutrient concentrationson plant growth in aquaponic environments has been elaborately discussed. | Sambandh Bhusan Dhal Muthukumar Bagavathiannan Ulisses Braga-Neto Stavros Kalafatis | 2022 | Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2022,,1: | 2 |
| 4 | Dynamic viscoelastic behaviour,gelling properties of myofibrillar proteins and histological changes in shrimp(L.vannamei)muscles during ice storage显示文摘Changes in protein quality during ice storage affects the muscle structure,the textural quality,functional properties and the eating quality.Dynamic viscoelastic behaviour and gelling properties ofmeat proteinsin relation to histological changes in white leg shrimp muscles were assessed for 14 days in ice storage.Reduction in Ca2+ATPase activity of fresh myofibrillar protein(MFP),fading of myosin banding pattern and increased gapping in myofibrils were clearly observed with progress of storage.The quality indices of the shrimp muscle were well correlated with histological and functional properties as a function of ice storage.Solubility of fresh MFP was 86.76%which decreased to 77.06%on the 14th day of storage period.Emulsion capacity found to increase during storage period.Gel strength of white leg shrimp meat was low(81±14 g cm)and further,reduced nearly 60%compared to fresh sample at the end of storage.The considerable reductions(from 535.77 kPa to 246.56 kPa)in storage modulus values were evident of diminishing elasticity and gelling ability of the meat due to ice storage.Therefore,this study usherd that the histological deterioration in myofibrils may be used as an indication of diminishing biochemical quality and gelling behaviour of the proteins. | Naresh Kumar Mehta Banalata Rout Amjad KBalange Binaya Bhusan Nayak | 2023 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2023,8,2: | 1 |

| 14 | Comparative Studies of Different Organs of Nyctanthes arbortristis in Modulation of Cytokines in Murine Model of Arthritis显示文摘Objective To study the modulation effect of pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines following long term use of water soluble ethanol extracts from different organs of Nyctanthes arbortristis(NAT) in mouse model of arthritis. Methods Arthritis was induced in mice by two injections of Freund's complete adjuvant on days 0 and 12 in the sub-planter surface of the right hind paw. Results Injection of adjuvant resulted in a maximum primary edema of the footpad with erythema,and edema and distortion of joints of the right hind paw after 24-48 hours. Second injection of FCA led to the formation of secondary swellings persisting more than four weeks that spread onto the other hind limb but to a lesser extent. Histological analysis of the ankle on day 47 showed marked evidence of cartilage destruction in association with pannus formation and moderate bone resorption. Proinflammatory cytokine levels in the inflamed joint homogenate were elevated on days 2,14,and 47. Oral administration of leaf and fruit extracts in arthritic mice reduced joint homogenate levels of tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-1β,and interleukin-6 on days 2,14,and 47 in comparison to untreated arthritic mice. Interleukin-10 level was elevated in the inflamed joint on days 2,14,and 47 in comparisons to untreated arthritic mice. Conclusion Evidence of lesser inflammation of the footpad and joint and associated histological observation support the therapeutic benefit of leaf and fruit extracts from Nyctanthes arbortristis.
