1THz spectra of five borates crystals显示文摘Terahertz spectral responses have been studied for five borate crystals Na5[B2P3O13] (NBP), Zn3BPO (ZBP), SrB4O7 (SBO), Na3La9O3(BO 3)8 (NLBO) and PbB4O7 (PBO). It is found that the samples had good transmission in 0.25―1.5 THz region. Both SBO and NLBO have an absorption coefficient less than 10 cm1. Among them, SBO has not only the smallest absorption coefficient but also a very flat dispersion in the frequency region under investigation. Distinct resonance absorption peaks are observed for ZBP at ν1 = 1.4 THz, ν2 = 2.0 THz and SBO at ν = 2.4 THz. In the spectrum of PBO, two abnormal dispersions appear in the frequency regions 1.44―1.74 and 2.2―2.5 THz. The absorption coefficients and refraction indices of the five crystals are extracted from the THz time-domain (THz-TDS) spectra in 0.25―2.5 THz region. 3Structures,properties,and challenges of emerging 2D materials in bioelectronics and biosensors显示文摘Bioelectronics are powerful tools for monitoring and stimulating biological and biochemical processes,with applications ranging from neural interface simulation to biosensing.The increasing demand for bioelectronics has greatly promoted the development of new nanomaterials as detection platforms.Recently,owing to their ultrathin structures and excellent physicochemical properties,emerging two-dimensional(2D)materials have become one of the most researched areas in the fields of bioelectronics and biosensors.In this timely review,the physicochemical structures of the most representative emerging 2D materials and the design of their nanostructures for engineering highperformance bioelectronic and biosensing devices are presented.We focus on the structural optimization of emerging 2D material-based composites to achieve better regulation for enhancing the performance of bioelectronics.Subsequently,the recent developments of emerging 2D materials in bioelectronics,such as neural interface simulation,biomolecular/biomarker detection,and skin sensors are discussed thoroughly.Finally,we provide conclusive views on the current challenges and future perspectives on utilizing emerging 2D materials and their composites for bioelectronics and biosensors.This review will offer important guidance in designing and applying emerging 2D materials in bioelectronics,thus further promoting their prospects in a wide biomedical field.Fan Chen Qing Tang Tian Ma Bihui Zhu Liyun Wang Chao He Xianglin Luo Sujiao Cao Lang Ma Chong Cheng 2022InfoMat2022,4,5:1

12Turning gray selenium into a nanoaccelerator of tissue regeneration by PEG modification显示文摘Selenium(Se)is an essential trace element involved in nearly all human physiological processes but suffers from a narrow margin between benefit and toxicity.The nanoform of selenium has been proven shown to be more bioavailable and less toxic,yet significant challenges remain regarding the efficient and feasible synthesis of biologically active nanoselenium.In addition,although nanoselenium has shown a variety of biological activities,more interesting nanoselenium features are expected.In this work,hydrosoluble nanoselenium termed Nano-Se in the zero oxidation state was synthesized between gray Se and PEG.A zebrafish screen was carried out in zebrafish larvae cocultured with Nano-Se.Excitingly,Nano-Se promoted the action of the FGFR,Wnt,and VEGF signaling pathways,which play crucial roles in tissue regeneration.As expected,Nano-Se not only achieved the regeneration of zebrafish tail fins and mouse skin but also promoted the repair of skin in diabetic mice while maintaining a profitable safe profile.In brief,the Nano-Se reported here provided an efficient and feasible method for bioactive nanoselenium synthesis and not only expanded the application of nanoselenium to regenerative medicine but also likely reinvigorated efforts for discovering more peculiarunique biofunctions of nanoselenium in a great variety of human diseases.Jieqiong Cao Yibo Zhang Peiguang Zhang Zilei Zhang Bihui Zhang Yanxian Feng Zhixin Li Yiqi Yang Qilin Meng Liu He Yulin Cai Zhenyu Wang Jie Li Xue Chen Hongwei Liu An Hong Wenjie Zheng Xiaojia Chen 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,9:0
13Controlled Growth of ZnO Array on FTO Glass Substrate by Electrodeposition显示文摘In this study, ZnO nanotube and nanorod array films were respectively synthesized directly on F-doped SnO2 glass substrate (FTO) using a direct electrodeposition from a simple aqueous zinc salt solution. The effects of potential value, electro-deposition mode and solution stirring speed on the product morphology were investigated. Controlling the reaction under poten-tiostatic condition of -0.7 V at stirring speed of 300 r/min, large-scale nanotube arrays perpendicular to the substrate can be synthesized at a low temperature of 70 ℃. By varying the reaction parameters, we can also obtain ZnO nanorod arrays. The results of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy have been provided to characterize the structure and morphology of the nanotube and nanorod arrays. Experiment results show that the as-obtained ZnO has a single crystalline structure and c-axis oriented direction. The room-temperature photolu-minescence spectrum of the ZnO nanotube array film displayed its high crystal property available as a photonic material. 14CH02 peptide promotes ex vivo expansion of umbilical cord blood-derived CD34+hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells显示文摘Umbilical cord blood(UCB)is an advantageous source for hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell(HSPC)transplantation,yet the current strategies for large-scale and cost-effective UCB-HSPC preparation are still unavailable.To overcome these obstacles,we systematically evaluate the feasibility of our newly identified CH02 peptide for ex vivo expansion of CD34^(+)UCB-HSPCs.We herein report that the CH02 peptide is specifically enriched in HSPC proliferation via activating the FLT3 signaling.Notably,the CH02-based cocktails are adequate for boosting 12-fold ex vivo expansion of UCB-HSPCs.Meanwhile,CH02-preconditioned UCB-HSPCs manifest preferable efficacy upon wound healing in diabetic mice via bidirectional orchestration of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory factors.Together,our data indicate the advantages of the CH02-based strategy for ex vivo expansion of CD34^(+)UCB-HSPCs,which will provide new strategies for further development of large-scale HSPC preparation for clinical purposes.Yiqi Yang Bihui Zhang Junye Xie Jingsheng Li Jia Liu Rongzhan Liu Linhao Zhang Jinting Zhang Zijian Su Fu Li Leisheng Zhang An Hong Xiaojia Chen 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,10:0
15Establishment of highly efficient transgenic system for black soldier fly(Hermetia illucens)显示文摘The black soldier fly(BSF),Hermetia illucens,is a promising insect for miti-gating solid waste problems as its larvae are able to bioconvert organic waste into valuable biomass.We recently reported a high-quality genome assembly of the BSF;analysis of this genome sequence will further the understanding of insect biology and identify genes that can be manipulated to improve efficiency of bioconversion.To enable genetic manip-ulation of the BSF,we have established the first transgenic methods for this economically important insect.We cloned and identified the ubiquitous actin5C promoter(Hiactin5C-p3k)and 3 endogenous U6 promoters(HiU6:1,HiU6:2,and HiU6:3).The Hiactin5C pro-moter was used to drive expression of a hyperactive variant of the piggyBac transposase,which exhibited up to 6-fold improvement in transformation rate when compared to the wild-type transposase.Furthermore,we evaluated the 3 HiU6 promoters using this trans-genic system.HiU6:1 and HiU6:2 promoters provided the highest knockdown efficiency with RNAi and are thus promising candidates for future Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats(CRISPR)development.Overall,our findings provide valuable genetic engineering toolkits for basic research and genetic manipulation of the BSF.Zongqing Kou Xingyu Luo Yuguo Jiang Bihui Chen Yu Song Yaohui Wang Jun Xui Jeffery K.Tomberlin Yongping Huang 2023Insect Science2023,30,4:0
16Intersex is required for female sexual development in Hermetia illucens显示文摘Sex-determination pathways are extremely diverse.Understanding the mechanism of sex determination in insects is important for genetic manipulation of the pest population and for breeding of economically valuable insects.Although sex determi-nation has been well characterized in the model species Drosophila melanogaster,little is known about this pathway in Stratiomyidae.In the present study,we first identified the Drosophila intersex(ix)homolog in Hermetia illucens,also known as the black soldier fly,which belongs to the Stratiomyidae family and which is an important insect for the con-version of various organic wastes.Phylogenetic analyses and multiple sequence alignment revealed that Hix is conserved compared with Drosophila.We showed that Hix is highly expressed in internal genitalia.Disruption of the Hix gene using CRISPR/Cas9 resulted in female-specific defects in external genitalia and abnormal and undersized ovaries.Taken together,our study furthers our understanding of sex determination in insects and could facilitatebreedingof H.illucens.Bihui Chen Zongqing Kou Yuguo Jiang Xingyu Luo Peili Li Kaj Sun Weiwei Wang Yongping Huang Yaohui Wang 2023Insect Science2023,30,4:0
