| 1 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). | 3 | EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF FLOWFIELD STRUCTURE AROUND AN OGIVE-CYLINDER显示文摘The flowfield structure and their aerodynamic characteristics over an ogive cylinder were studied by means of flow visualization and surface pressure measurement in a water tunnel and a wind tunnel. The existence of multi asymmetric vortices over long slender bodies was experimentally confirmed at large angles of attack and in the subcritical Reynolds number range. The spatial 3 D characteristics of the multi vortices system were analyzed and a physical model was developed. The topological structure of different patterns in cross flow plane was studied and the mechanism governing the formation of asymmetric vortices and multi vortices was discussed from the viewpoint of stability of the topological structure. | 4 | Identification of rice cultivars with low brown rice mixed cadmium and lead contents and their interactions with the micronutrients iron,zinc,nickel and manganese显示文摘Paddy fields in mining areas are usually co-contaminated by a cocktail of mixed toxic heavy metals(e.g.,Cd and Pb in Pb/Zn mines).However,previous studies on rice cultivars screened for effective metal exclusion have mostly focused on individual metals,and have been conducted under pot-trial or hydroponic solution conditions.This study identified rice cultivars with both low Cd and Pb accumulation under Cd-and Pb-contaminated field conditions,and the interactions of the toxic elements Cd and Pb with the micronutrient elements Fe,Zn,Mn and Ni were also studied.Among 32 rice cultivars tested,there were significant differences in Cd(0.06-0.59 mg/kg) and Pb(0.25-3.15 mg/kg) levels in their brown rice,and similar results were also found for the micronutrient elements.Significant decreases in concentrations of Fe and Mn were detected with increasing Cd concentrations and a significant elevation in Fe,Mn and Ni with increasing Pb concentrations.A similar result was also shown by Cd and Ni.Three cultivars were identified with a combination of low brown rice Cd and Pb,high micronutrient and grain yield(Wufengyou 2168,Tianyou 196 and Guinongzhan).Present results suggest that it is possible to breed rice cultivars with low mixed toxic element(Cd,Pb) and high micronutrient contents along with high grain yields,thus ensuring food safety and quality. | Bing Li Xun Wang Xiaoli Qi Lu Huang Zhihong Ye | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,10: | 18 |

| 6 | A nano-cocrystal strategy to improve the dissolution rate and oral bioavailability of baicalein显示文摘Baicalein(BE) is one of the main active flavonoids representing the variety of pharmacological effects including anticancer, anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular protective activities, but it's very low solubility, dissolution rate and poor oral absorption limit the therapeutic applications. In this work, a nano-cocrystal strategy was successfully applied to improve the dissolution rate and bioavailability of BE. Baicalein-nicotinamide(BE-NCT) nanococrystals were prepared by high pressure homogenization and evaluated both in vitro and in vivo. Physical characterization results including scanning electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, powder X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry demonstrated that BE-NCT nano-cocrystals were changed into amorphous state with mean particle size of 251.53 nm. In the dissolution test, the BE-NCT nano-cocrystals performed 2.17-fold and 2.54-fold enhancement than BE coarse powder in FaSSIF-V2 and FaSSGF. Upon oral administration, the integrated AUC0-t of BE-NCT nano-cocrystals(6.02-fold) was significantly higher than BE coarse powder(1-fold), BE-NCT cocrystals(2.87-fold) and BE nanocrystals(3.32-fold). | 8 | Chlorogenic Acid Maintains Glucose Homeostasis through Modulating the Expression of SGLT-1,GLUT-2,and PLG in Different Intestinal Segments of Sprague-Dawley Rats Fed a High-Fat Diet显示文摘Objective To reveal the effects and related mechanisms of chlorogenic acid(CGA)on intestinal glucose homeostasis.Methods Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly and equally divided into four groups:normal chow(NC),high-fat diet(HFD),HFD with low-dose CGA(20 mg/kg,HFD-LC),and HFD with high-dose CGA(90 mg/kg,HFD-HC).The oral glucose tolerance test was performed,and fast serum insulin(FSI)was detected using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.The m RNA expression levels of glucose transporters(Sglt-1 and Glut-2)and proglucagon(Plg)in different intestinal segments(the duodenum,jejunum,ileum,and colon)were analyzed using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.SGLT-1 protein and the morphology of epithelial cells in the duodenum and jejunum was localized by using immunofluorescence.Results At both doses,CGA ameliorated the HFD-induced body weight gain,maintained FSI,and increased postprandial 30-min glucagon-like peptide 1 secretion.High-dose CGA inhibited the HFD-induced elevation in Sglt-1 expression.Both CGA doses normalized the HFD-induced downregulation of Glut-2 and elevated the expression of Plg in all four intestinal segments.Conclusion An HFD can cause a glucose metabolism disorder in the rat intestine and affect body glucose homeostasis.CGA can modify intestinal glucose metabolism by regulating the expression of intestinal glucose transporters and Plg,thereby controlling the levels of blood glucose and insulin to maintain glucose homeostasis. | PENG Bing Jie ZHU Qi ZHONG Ying Li XU Shi Hao WANG Zheng | 2015 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2015,28,12: | 12 |

| 11 | PM2.5 and tropospheric O_3 in China and an analysis of the impact of pollutant emission control显示文摘This study reviewed the status of PM2.5 and tropospheric O3 observations in China(15e55N, 72e136E). Initially, the distribution of tropospheric O3 over the globe and China was determined based on satellite observations made during 2010e2013. The annual mean values were 29.78 DU and 33.97 DU over the globe and China, respectively. The distribution of PM2.5 and seasonal changes in concentrations in China were then simulated using an aerosol chemistry e climate coupled model system, with an annual mean value of 0.51×10-8kg mà3. The contributions from five different aerosols to the simulated PM2.5 concentrations in different seasons were also determined. The relationships among the emissions of aerosols, greenhouse gases and their precursors and radiative forcings were determined with reference to the(IPCC AR5) Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change the Fifth Assessment Report. From these relationships, the possible effects of controlling O3 precursors and(PM) particulate matter on the climate were considered. The influence of the control of O3 precursors was not totally clear, and reducing emissions of short-lived greenhouse gases and black carbon was considered a secondary measure for short-term(the next 50years) climate-change mitigation. Reducing emissions of CO2 is still the best strategy for meeting the target of a global average rise in surface air temperature of less than 2C. | 13 | Clinicopathological, immunohistochemical, and ultrastructural study of 13 cases of melanotic schwannoma显示文摘Background Melanotic schwannoma is a rare variant of schwannoma composed of melanin-producing cellswith ultrastructural features of schwann cells.The description of the course of the tumors differs somewhat, but itis generally considered as a benign lesion.We investigated the clinicopathologic features, immunophenotypes,and ultrastructural features of 13 patients with nonpsammomatous melanotic schwannoma (NPMS).Methods Tumor specimens of each patient were sectioned and stained with hematoxylin-eosin, Fontana-Masson, Prussian blue, and periodic acid-Schiff (PAS).Immunohistochemical markers such as S-100, Leu-7,HMB-45, Melan-A, CK, EMA, vimentin, GFAP, laminin, collagenⅣ and MIB-1 were detected with theEnvision immunohistochemical staining method.Four of the cases were observed by electron microscopy.Results Of the 13 patients, 8 were male and 5 female, aged from 11 to 92 years (mean, 38.6 years).Thetumor sites included the spinal nerve root (5 patients), cranial nerve (1), greater omentum (1), subcutaneoustissue (3), mesentery (1), bone (1) and mediastinum(1).Eleven patients were followed up for over2 years,with a mean of 5.9 years.One patient (9.1%) with a primary tumor in the greater omentum developed anotherprimary tumor of the same type in the subcutaneous tissue of the abdominal wall after the first operation.Localrecurrence of the tumor was seen in2 patients (18.2%).One patient (9.1%) showed the local recurrence andmetastasis.Seven patients (63.6%) showed no evidence of the recurrence or metastasis.Grossly, all tumorswere well-circumscribed and the gross findings were suggestive of melanin-containing tumors.The tumor wascomposed of spindled and epithelioid cells with abundant intracytoplasmic melanin pigments.Nuclei were roundand contained delicate, evenly distributed chromatins as well as small, distinct nucleoli.In some areas, thenucleoli were large and prominent.Rare mitoses were seen in mostlesions exceptthe larger omentumlesion.Thepigment was shown to be positive for the Fontana-Masson and negative for Prussian blue and PAS.Immunohistochemical staining for S-100, Leu-7, HMB-45, Melan-A, and vimentin were strongly positive.Linear immunoreactions of both laminin and collagenⅣ was detected in all patients.Ultrastructurally, numerouselongated tumor-cell processes, duplicated basement membrane and melanosomes were observed in alldevelopmental stages.Conclusions Histologically, melanotic schwannoma is a rare variant of schwannoma composed of melanin-producing cells with ultrastructural features ofschwann cells.Distinguishing between this tumor andmalignant melanoma is of paramount importance inplanning of management. Immunohistochemically,combined use of laminin and collagenⅣ is valuablein distinguishing melanotic schwannoma frommalignant melanoma. Wide local resection andadditional radiotherapy should be advocated.Furtherstudies including cytogenetic or molecular biology arestill required to better delineate melanoticschwannoma from malignant melanoma. | 17 | Psychophysiological Effects of Bamboo Plants on Adults显示文摘The present study was conducted to clarify the psychophysiological relaxation effects of viewing bamboo on university students. Forty healthy Chinese participants enrolled in this study to clarify the psychophysiological relaxation effects of viewing bamboo. The effects of visual stimulation using a pot both with and without a bamboo were recorded by measuring the student's blood pressure, EEG and STAI. We observed that viewing bamboo plants resulted in significantly lower systolic(female, P < 0.001; male, P < 0.001; P < 0.05) and diastolic(female,P < 0.001; male, P < 0.001; P < 0.05) blood pressures, but no changes in the pulse rate(female, P = 0.09; male, P = 0.07; P > 0.05) were observed. The results of the EEG analysis indicated brainwave variation(all P < 0.05) and lower anxiety scores(P < 0.01) after 3 min of viewing bamboo compared with the control. | 18 | GCH1 plays a role in the high-altitude adaptation of Tibetans显示文摘Tibetans are well adapted to high-altitude hypoxia. Previous genome-wide scans have reported many candidate genes for this adaptation, but only a few have been studied. Here we report on a hypoxia gene(GCH1, GTP-cyclohydrolase I), involved in maintaining nitric oxide synthetase(NOS) function and normal blood pressure, that harbors many potentially adaptive variants in Tibetans. We resequenced an 80.8 kb fragment covering the entire gene region of GCH1 in 50 unrelated Tibetans. Combined with previously published data, we demonstrated many GCH1 variants showing deep divergence between highlander Tibetans and lowlander Han Chinese. Neutrality tests confirmed a signal of positive Darwinian selection on GCH1 in Tibetans. Moreover, association analysis indicated that the Tibetan version of GCH1 was significantly associated with multiple physiological traits in Tibetans, including blood nitric oxide concentration, blood oxygen saturation, and hemoglobin concentration. | 20 | The geomechanics of Shenhua carbon dioxide capture and storage(CCS) demonstration project in Ordos Basin,China显示文摘Carbon dioxide(CO_2) capture and storage(CCS) is considered widely as one of promising options for CO_2emissions reduction,especially for those countries with coal-dominant energy mix like China.Injecting and storing a huge volume of CO_2 in deep formations are likely to cause a series of geomechanical issues,including ground surface uplift,damage of caprock integrity,and fault reactivation.The Shenhua CCS demonstration project in Ordos Basin,China,is the first and the largest full-chain saline aquifer storage project of CO_2 in Asia.The injection started in 2010 and ended in 2015.during which totally 0.3 million tonnes(Mt) CO_2 was injected.The project is unique in which CO_2 was injected into 18 sandstone formations simultaneously and the overlying coal seams will be mined after the injection stopped in 2015.Hence,intense geomechanical studies and monitoring works have been conducted in recent years,including possible damage resulting from the temperature difference between injected CO_2 and formations,injection induced stress and deformation change,potential failure mode and safety factor,interaction between coal mining and CO_2 geological storage,determination of injection pressure limit,and surface monitoring by the interferometric synthetic aperture radar(InSAR) technology.In this paper,we first described the background and its geological conditions of the Shenhua CCS demonstration project.Then,we gave an introduction to the coupled thermo-hydro-mechano-chemical(THMC) processes in CO_2 geological storage,and mapped the key geomechanical issues into the THMC processes accordingly.Next,we proposed a generalized geomechanical research flowchart for CO_2 geological storage projects.After that,we addressed and discussed some typical geomechanical issues,including design of injection pressure limit.CO_2 injection induced near-field damage,and interaction between CO_2geological storage and coal mining,in the Shenhua CCS demonstration project.Finally,we concluded some insights to this CCS project. | Xiaochun Li Qi Li Bing Bai Ning Wei Wei Yuan | 2016 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2016,8,6: | 8 |
