| 1 | Source Contributions to PM2.5 under Unfavorable Weather Conditions in Guangzhou City,China显示文摘Historical haze episodes(2013–16) in Guangzhou were examined and classified according to synoptic weather systems.Four types of weather systems were found to be unfavorable, among which 'foreside of a cold front'(FC) and 'sea high pressure'(SP) were the most frequent(> 75% of the total). Targeted case studies were conducted based on an FC-affected event and an SP-affected event with the aim of understanding the characteristics of the contributions of source regions to fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)) in Guangzhou. Four kinds of contributions—namely, emissions outside Guangdong Province(super-region), emissions from the Pearl River Delta region(PRD region), emissions from Guangzhou–Foshan–Shenzhen(GFS region), and emissions from Guangzhou(local)—were investigated using the Weather Research and Forecasting–Community Multiscale Air Quality model. The results showed that the source region contribution differed with different weather systems. SP was a stagnant weather condition, and the source region contribution ratio showed that the local region was a major contributor(37%), while the PRD region, GFS region and the super-region only contributed 8%, 2.8% and 7%, respectively, to PM_(2.5) concentrations. By contrast, FC favored regional transport. The super-region became noticeable,contributing 34.8%, while the local region decreased to 12%. A simple method was proposed to quantify the relative impact of meteorology and emissions. Meteorology had a 35% impact, compared with an impact of-18% for emissions, when comparing the FC-affected event with that of the SP. | 2 | Experiment and simulation of foaming injection molding of polypropylene/nano-calcium carbonate composites by supercritical carbon dioxide显示文摘Microcellular injection molding of neat isotactic polypropylene(iPP) and isotactic polypropylene/nano-calcium carbonate composites(i PP/nano-CaCO_3) was performed using supercritical carbon dioxide as the physical blowing agent. The influences of filler content and operating conditions on microstructure morphology of i PP and i PP/nano-CaCO_3 microcellular samples were studied systematically. The results showed the bubble size of the microcellular samples could be effectively decreased while the cell density increased for i PP/nano-CaCO_3 composites, especially at high CO_2 concentration and back pressure, low mold temperature and injection speed, and high filler content. Then Moldex 3D was applied to simulate the microcellular injection molding process, with the application of the measured ScCO_2 solubility and diffusion data for i PP and i PP/nano-Ca CO_3 composites respectively. For neat i PP, the simulated bubble size and density distribution in the center section of tensile bars showed a good agreement with the experimental values. However, for i PP/nano-CaCO_3 composites, the correction factor for nucleation activation energy F and the pre-exponential factor of nucleation rate f_0 were obtained by nonlinear regression on the experimental bubble size and density distribution. | 5 | In situ growth of hydrophilic nickel-cobalt layered double hydroxides nanosheets on biomass waste-derived porous carbon for high-performance hybrid supercapacitors显示文摘Rational design and cost-effective fabrication of layered double hydroxides(LDHs)nanosheets with extraordinary electrochemical performance is a key challenge for hybrid supercapacitors(HSCs).Herein,we report a facile in situ growth methodology to eco-friendly synthesize hydrophilic Ni Co-LDHs nanosheets on biomass waste-derived porous carbon(BC)for robust high-performance HSC cathode.The in situ growth process under ultrasonication realizes the rational arrangement of Ni Co-LDHs nanosheets on the surface of BC,which effectively increases the specific surface area,promotes the electronic conductivity and enhances the wettability of Ni Co-LDHs nanosheets without affecting their thickness values.With the beneficial effects of ultrathin thickness of LDHs nanosheets(6.20 nm),large specific surface area(2324.1 m^(2)g^(-1)),low charge transfer resistance(1.65Ω),and high wettability with electrolyte(34°–35°),the obtained Ni2Co1-LDHs/BC50 electrode possesses an ultra-high specific capacitance of 2390 F g^(-1)(956 C g^(-1))at 1 A g^(-1),which is superior to most reported values.Furthermore,an assembled Ni_(2)Co_(1)-LDHs/BC50//YP-80F HSC delivers a maximum specific energy of 52.47 Wh kg^(-1)at375 W kg^(-1),and maintains a high capacitance retention of 75.9%even after 4000 cycles.This work provides a facile approach to fabricate LDHs nanosheets based cathode materials for high-performance HSCs. | Yuchen Wang Yaoyu Liu Zuo Chen Man Zhang Biying Liu Zhenhao Xu Kai Yan | 2022 | Green Chemical Engineering2022,3,1: | 1 |

| 10 | Intravenous route to choroidal neovascularization by macrophage-disguised nanocarriers for mTOR modulation显示文摘Retinal pigment epithelial(RPE) is primarily impaired in age-related macular degeneration(AMD), leading to progressive loss of photoreceptors and sometimes choroidal neovascularization(CNV). mTOR has been proposed as a promising therapeutic target, while the usage of its specific inhibitor,rapamycin, was greatly limited. To mediate the mTOR pathway in the retina by a noninvasive approach, we developed novel biomimetic nanocomplexes where rapamycin-loaded nanoparticles were coated with cell membrane derived from macrophages(termed as MRaNPs). Taking advantage of the macrophage-inherited property, intravenous injection of MRaNPs exhibited significantly enhanced accumulation in the CNV lesions, thereby increasing the local concentration of rapamycin. Consequently, MRaNPs effectively downregulated the mTOR pathway and attenuate angiogenesis in the eye. Particularly, MRaNPs also efficiently activated autophagy in the RPE, which was acknowledged to rescue RPE in response to deleterious stimuli. | 20 | Investigation on the Effect of the Multilayered Porous Structure of Sea Urchin Skeleton on Its Mechanical Behavior显示文摘In this paper,the effect of stereom structure on the mechanical behavior of the Sea Urchin Inorganic Skeleton(SUIS)has been studied.The stereom microstructure of both Anthocidaris crassispina and Tripnenstes gratilla was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM).Results indicate that a three-layer porous structure consisting of a growth,a support,and a resorption(GSR)layer is a common denominator for both species.The effect of GSR layer order on the mechanical behavior of the SUIS was studied by a finite element method.The results show that the GSR model could effectively reduce the maximum tensile stress on its meridional sutures under unidirectional pressure,hydrostatic pressure,and self-weight situation.For a fabricated three-layered ceramic test strips with different layer orders,the mechanical properties have a completely opposite performance compared with the compressive properties of the calculated SUIS-Iike models.This indicates that the GSR structure can effectively improve the mechanical properties of the SUIS,but it cannot be applied to bionics without considering its synergistic effect with the macro-structure of the SUIS.This is a typical example of bionic invalidation by single structure,where multi-level structure bionics may be an effective solution. | Hui Yu Jianbao Li Zhenhao Hou Jianlin Li Yongjun Chen Chunfu Lin | 2020 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,3: | 0 |
