1Optical observations of LIGO source GW 170817 by the Antarctic Survey Telescopes at Dome A,Antarctica显示文摘The LIGO detection of gravitational waves(GW) from merging black holes in 2015 marked the beginning of a new era in observational astronomy. The detection of an electromagnetic signal from a GW source is the critical next step to explore in detail the physics involved. The Antarctic Survey Telescopes(AST3),located at Dome A, Antarctica, is uniquely situated for rapid response time-domain astronomy with its continuous night-time coverage during the austral winter. We report optical observations of the GW source(GW 170817) in the nearby galaxy NGC 4993 using AST3. The data show a rapidly fading transient at around 1 day after the GW trigger, with the i-band magnitude declining from 17:23 ± 0:13 magnitude to 17:72 ± 0:09 magnitude in ~1:8 h. The brightness and time evolution of the optical transient associated with GW 170817 are broadly consistent with the predictions of models involving merging binary neutron stars. 2Structure and Corrosion Resistance of Microarc Oxidation Coatings on AZ91D Magnesium Alloy显示文摘Magnesium alloys are widely used as shells of 3C (computer, mobile phone and consumer electronics) equipments for its impressive mechanical and physical properties, such as low density, good resistance to electromagnetic radiation, suitable for high pressure diecasting and easily recycling, etc. But poor corrosion resistance confines its extensively application. In this paper, protective coatings was successfully prepared on AZ91D magnesium alloys by micro-arc oxidation (MAO) and painting process. Microstructures and phases of MAO coatings were invesgated with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-Ray diffractometer. Mechanical properties of MAO coating, such as adhesive force and corrosion resistance, were also tested. Results showed that MAO coatings were a good base for painting process. MAO coatings with paint have good adhesive properties to base metal and excellent corrosion resistance. 3Holographic QSAR of environmental estrogens显示文摘Experimental and epidemiological studies suggest that some man-made and natu- rally occurring chemicals related to the environment have the potential to interrupt normal func- tioning of the endocrine systems of humans and wildlife. These chemicals, termed EDCs (Endo- crine disrupting Chemicals), pose serious threats to the reproductive capability of humans and wildlife. Because of the structural diversity and various types, development of structure-based rapid screening methodologies is important and necessary for the assessment of the environ- mental pollutants. In this paper molecular hologram based QSAR models were developed with the combinatory application of partial least square (PLS) regression for a large diverse set of 105 environmental estrogens. 4Holographic QSAR of estradiol derivatives显示文摘Holographic QSAR model is constructed to predict relative binding affinities of estradiol derivatives with lamb uterine estrogen receptor. The method does not require the generation of three-dimensional structure of the compounds. The factors that influence the quality of QSAR model are discussed. The result indicates that the model has good predictability and yields a high q2LOO value of 0.897. 5Effect of Silicon on the casting properties of Al-5.0%Cu alloy显示文摘Poor casting properties restrict the application of high strength casting Al-5.0%Cu alloy. The addition of element can improve the casting properties of this alloy. Effect of Si on the casting properties of Al-5.0%Cu alloy was studied. It has been found that the addition of Si can improve the casting properties of Al-5.0%Cu alloy obviously. With the increase of Si content, the hot cracking tendency of the alloy decreases significantly, and the fluidity of the alloy increases firstly and then decreases slowly. 9Influence of Si on Interfacial Combination of SiCp/Al-Mg-Si Composite显示文摘The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis results of Si distribution in the interface between SiC reinforcements and aluminum matrix of a stir casting SiCp/Al-Mg-Si composite were presented. Results show that there is Si precipitation deposit on the interface of the composite and Si connects with SiC reinforcements in one side and connects with aluminum matrix in the other side. 10Research on PTFE Dispersions Filled with Nanometer ZnO显示文摘PTFE dispersion composites filled with nanometer ZnO were successfully prepared by controlling stirring speed and using ultrasonic mixture with no damage to PTFE dispersion. Properties of PTFE composites, such as wear rate, friction coefficient and thermal conductivity coefficient were tested respectively. Also, the grain size of nanometer filler in composites were observed by different methods, such as small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and dynamic light scattering particle size distribution analyzer (DLSPSDA). 11Dietary supplementation of benzoic acid and essential oils combination enhances intestinal resilience against LPS stimulation in weaned piglets显示文摘Background The benefits of combining benzoic acid and essential oils(BAO)to mitigate intestinal impairment during the weaning process have been well established,while the detailed underlying mechanism has not been fully elucidated.Previous research has primarily focused on the reparative effects of BAO on intestinal injury,while neglecting its potential in enhancing intestinal stress resistance.Methods In this study,we investigated the pre-protective effect of BAO against LPS-induced stress using a modified experimental procedure.Piglets were pre-supplemented with BAO for 14 d,followed by a challenge with LPS or saline to collect blood and intestinal samples.Results Our findings demonstrated that BAO supplementation led to significant improvements in piglets’final weight,average daily gain,and feed intake/body gain ratio.Additionally,BAO supplementation positively influenced the composition of intestinal microbiota,increasing beneficial Actinobacteriota and Alloprevotella while reducing harmful Desulfobacterota,Prevotella and Oscillospira.Furthermore,BAO supplementation effectively mitigated oxidative disturbances and inflammatory responses induced by acute LPS challenge.This was evidenced by elevated levels of T-AOC,SOD,and GSH,as well as decreased levels of MDA,TNF-α,and IL-6 in the plasma.Moreover,piglets subjected to LPS challenge and pre-supplemented with BAO exhibited significant improvements in intestinal morphological structure and enhanced integrity,as indicated by restored expression levels of Occludin and Claudin-1 compared to the non-supplemented counterparts.Further analysis revealed that BAO supplementation enhanced the jejunal antioxidative capacity by increasing GSH-Px levels and decreasing MDA levels under the LPS challenge and stimulated the activation of the Nrf2 signaling pathway.Additionally,the reduction of TLR4/NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathways activation and proinflammatory factor were also observed in the jejunal of those piglets fed with BAO.Conclusions In summary,our study demonstrates that pre-supplementation of BAO enhances the anti-stress capacity of weaned piglets by improving intestinal microbiota composition,reinforcing the intestinal barrier,and enhancing antioxidative and anti-inflammatory capabilities.These effects are closely associated with the activation of Nrf2 and TLR4/NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathways.Chang Cui Yulong Wei Yibo Wang Wen Ma Xiaoyu Zheng Jun Wang Ziwei Ma Caichi Wu Licui Chu Shihai Zhang Wutai Guan Fang Chen 2024Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2024,15,2:0
