1Ultra-low thermal conductivity of two-dimensional phononic crystals in the incoherent regime显示文摘Two-dimensional silicon phononic crystals have attracted extensive research interest for thermoelectric applications due to their reproducible low thermal conductivity and sufficiently good electrical properties.For thermoelectric devices in high-temperature environment,the coherent phonon interference is strongly suppressed;therefore phonon transport in the incoherent regime is critically important for manipulating their thermal conductivity.On the basis of perturbation theory,we present herein a novel phonon scattering process from the perspective of bond order imperfections in the surface skin of nanostructures.We incorporate this strongly frequency-dependent scattering rate into the phonon Boltzmann transport equation and reproduce the ultra low thermal conductivity of holey silicon nanostructures.We reveal that the remarkable reduction of thermal conductivity originates not only from the impediment of low-frequency phonons by normal boundary scattering,but also from the severe suppression of high-frequency phonons by surface bond order imperfections scattering.Our theory not only reveals the role of the holey surface on the phonon transport,but also provide a computation tool for thermal conductivity modification in nanostructures through surface engineering.Guofeng Xie Zhifang Ju Kuikui Zhou Xiaolin Wei Zhixin Guo Yongqing Cai Gang Zhang 2018npj Computational Materials2018,,1:2
2Mitochondrial temperature-responsive drug delivery reverses drug resistance in lung cancer显示文摘Reversal of cancer drug resistance remains a critical challenge in chemotherapy.Mitochondria-targeted drug delivery has been suggested to mitigate drug resistance in cancer.To overcome the intrinsic limitations in conventional mitochondrial targeting strategies,we develop mitochondrial temperature-responsive drug delivery to reverse doxorubicin(DOX)resistance in lung cancer.Results demonstrate that the thermoresponsive nanocarrier can prevent DOX efflux and facilitate DOX accumulation and mitochondrial targeting in DOX-resistant tumors.As a consequence,thermoresponsive nanocarrier enhances the cytotoxicity of DOX and reverses the drug resistance in tumor-bearing mice.This work represents the first example of mitochondrial temperature-responsive drug delivery for reversing cancer drug resistance.Lifo Ruan Jun Chen Chuanchao Du Huiru Lu Jiayu Zhang Xiaomeng Cai Rui Dou Wenchu Lin Zhifang Chai Guangjun Nie Yi Hu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,7:1

6Real-time co-registered photoacoustic and ultrasonic imaging for early endometrial cancer detection driven by cylindrical diffuser显示文摘In illuminating tissues,a cylindrical diffuser(CD)has an advantage over regular laser sources due to its ability to illuminate a larger volume of the target tissue.This paper presents a co-registered large volume photoacoustic(PA)and ultrasonic(US)imaging for early endometrial cancer(EEC)detection using CD.It has the advantage that the US imaging system is outside the body and only the PA excitation device is inside the body,which makes the system more efficient and less invasive for EEC detection.The paper reports on two sets of experiments.Thefirst set produced real-time PA images of blood vessel phantom.The second set demonstrated the imaging of pig uterus ex vivo.The results show that the system has the potential for imaging and characterizing of EEC.Yongping Lin Peter Andreae Zhifang Li Jianyong Cai Hui Li 2019Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2019,,2:0
7Adaptive Barebones Salp Swarm Algorithm with Quasi-oppositional Learning for Medical Diagnosis Systems: A Comprehensive Analysis显示文摘The Salp Swarm Algorithm(SSA)may have trouble in dropping into stagnation as a kind of swarm intelligence method.This paper developed an adaptive barebones salp swarm algorithm with quasi-oppositional-based learning to compensate for the above weakness called QBSSA.In the proposed QBSSA,an adaptive barebones strategy can help to reach both accurate convergence speed and high solution quality;quasi-oppositional-based learning can make the population away from traping into local optimal and expand the search space.To estimate the performance of the presented method,a series of tests are performed.Firstly,CEC 2017 benchmark test suit is used to test the ability to solve the high dimensional and multimodal problems;then,based on QBSSA,an improved Kernel Extreme Learning Machine(KELM)model,named QBSSA–KELM,is built to handle medical disease diagnosis problems.All the test results and discussions state clearly that the QBSSA is superior to and very competitive to all the compared algorithms on both convergence speed and solutions accuracy.Jianfu Xia Hongliang Zhang Rizeng Li Zhiyan Wang Zhennao Cai Zhiyang Gu Huiling Chen Zhifang Pan 2022Journal of Bionic Engineering2022,19,1:0
