| 2 | Enhancing the hydration reactivity of hemi-hydrate phosphogypsum through a morphology-controlled preparation technology显示文摘The distribution of water channels in the crystal morphology of type-α hemi-hydrated gypsum(α-HH) was theoretically detected to investigate the effect of water channels on the hydration reactivity of hemi-hydrate phosphogypsum(HPG). Results showed that water channels were mainly distributed in the cylinders of α-HH crystal,whereas no water channel existed in the conical surfaces parallel to the z-axis. Increasing the number of water channels was critical to enhance the hydration activity of HPG compared with the hydration reactivity of industrial HPG and type-α high-strength gypsum. | 3 | β-Glucosidase treatment and infestation by the rice brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens elicit similar signaling pathways in rice plants显示文摘β-Glucosidase has been reported to induce the production of herbivore-induced plant volatiles. How-ever, how it works remains unclear. Here, we investigated the levels of salicylic acid (SA), jasmonic acid (JA), ethylene, and H2O2, all of which are known signaling molecules that play important roles in in-duced plant defense in rice plants treated with β-glucosidase, and compared these to levels in plants infested by the rice brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens (Stl). Results showed that wounding and treatment by β-glucosidase increased the levels of SA, ethylene, and H2O2, but not JA, in all plants compared to control plants. The signaling pathways activated by β-glucosidase treatment are similar to those activated by an infestation by N. lugens, although the magnitude and timing of the signals elicited by the two treatments are different. | 5 | Synergistic effects of CdS in sodium titanate based nanostructures for hydrogen evolution显示文摘In this paper, nanotubes and nanoribbons of sodium titanate structures were synthesized via hydrothermal methods in alkaline solution. CdS decorated titanate nanotubes and nanoribbons were therefore constructed for exploring the performance of hydrogen evolution and synergistic effect of CdS based titanate structures. CdS decorated titanate nanotubes and nanoribbons were characterized by high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD), UV-vis, BrunauerEmmett-Teller(BET) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) measurements. | 6 | Defining a critical period in calvarial development for Hedgehog pathway antagonist-induced frontal bone dysplasia in mice显示文摘The Hedgehog(Hh) signalling pathway is essential for cellular proliferation and differentiation during embryonic development.Gain and loss of function of Hh signalling are known to result in an array of craniofacial malformations. To determine the critical period for Hh pathway antagonist-induced frontal bone hypoplasia, we examined patterns of dysmorphology caused by Hh signalling inhibition. Pregnant mice received a single oral administration of Hh signalling inhibitor GDC-0449 at 100 or 150 mg·kg^(-1) body weight at preselected time points between embryonic days(E)8.5 and 12.5. The optimal teratogenic concentration of GDC-0449 was determined to be 150 mg·kg^(-1). Exposure between E9.5 and E10.5 induced frontal bone dysplasia, micrognathia and limb defects, with administration at E10.5 producing the most pronounced effects. This model showed decreased ossification of the frontal bone with downregulation of Hh signalling. The osteoid thickness of the frontal bone was significantly reduced. The layer-dependent Raman enhancing characteristics of n-layer graphenes for crystal violet, and the thickness-dependent morphologies of gold on n-layer graphenes are also systematically investigated. | 19 | Strain engineering of anisotropic light-matter interactions in onedimensional P-P chain of SiP_(2)显示文摘Strain engineering can serve as a powerful technique for modulating the exotic properties arising from the atomic structure of materials.Examples have been demonstrated that one-dimensional(1D)structure can serve as a great platform for modulating electronic band structure and phonon dispersion via strain control.Particularly,in a van der Waals material silicon diphosphide(SiP_(2)),quasi-1D zigzag phosphorus–phosphorus(P–P)chains are embedded inside the crystal structure,and can show unique phonon vibration modes and realize quasi-1D excitons.Manipulating those optical properties by the atom displacements via strain engineering is of great interest in understanding underlying mechanism of such P–P chains,however,which remains elusive.Herein,we demonstrate the strain engineering of Raman and photoluminescence(PL)spectra in quasi-1D P–P chains and resulting in anisotropic manipulation in SiP_(2).We find that the phonon frequencies of SiP_(2)in Raman spectra linearly evolve with a uniaxial strain along/perpendicular to the quasi-1D P–P chain directions.Interestingly,by applying tensile strain along the P–P chains,the band gap energy of strained SiP_(2)can significantly decrease with a tunable value of~55 meV.Based on arsenic(As)element doping into SiP_(2),the strain-induced redshifts of phonon frequencies decrease,indicating the stiffening of the phonon vibration with the increased arsenic doping level.Such results provide an opportunity for strain engineering of the light–matter interactions in the quasi-1D P–P chains of SiP_(2)crystal for potential optical applications. | Fanghua Cheng Junwei Huang Feng Qin Ling Zhou Xueting Dai Xiangyu Bi Caorong Zhang Zeya Li Ming Tang Caiyu Qiu Yangfan Lu Huiyang Gou Hongtao Yuan | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,8: | 0 |
| 20 | Clinical efficacy of Buzhong Yiqi decoction(补中益气汤)in the treatment of hospital-acquired pneumonia with multi-drug resistant bacteria:a prospective,randomized,multicenter controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Buzhong Yiqi decoction(补中益气汤,BZYQ)in the treatment of hospital-acquired pneumonia(HAP)with multi-drug-resistant bacteria(MDRB).METHODS:This 28-day study was conducted at 5 clinical centers in Shanghai.The eligible patients were randomly assigned(1∶1)into the intervention group(BZYQ plus conventional Western Medicine therapy)and control group(conventional Western Medicine therapy).The primary outcomes were the clinical response,clinical pulmonary infection score(CPIS),and microbiologic response.The secondary outcomes were the 28-day allcause mortality(ACM),Acute Physiology and Chronic Health EvaluationⅡ(APACHEⅡ)score,ventilator weaning rate,length of mechanical ventilation(MV),length of hospital stay,and changes of infection indicators.RESULTS:Altogether 83 subjects in the intervention group and 85 subjects in the control group were analyzed.The clinical success rate(48.2%)and the pathogen eradication rate(59.0%)of the intervention group were all better than those of the control group(32.9%and 38.9%,respectively)with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The CPIS score of the intervention group(8.9±1.7)was lower than that of the control group(9.6±2.5)(P<0.05).The length of MV in the intervention group[(13.7±6.4)d]was significantly shorter than that of the control group[(17.2±7.2)d](P<0.05).The 28-day ACM of the intervention group(13.33%)was lower than that of the control group(21.2%)with no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).The differences between two groups in ventilator weaning rate,length of hospital stay,and APACHEⅡscore were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The intervention group displayed decreases in white blood cell count,C-reactive protein,neutrophil percentage,and procalcitonin at day 28 compared with baseline(P<0.05).No serious adverse events occurred in either group during the 28-day follow-up.CONCLUSION:BZYQ may be an effective therapeutic option for the management of HAP with MDRB. | XU Xiangru ZHOU Yi CHEN Gang LEI Ming ZHANG Wen WU Xinxin PU Yuting CHEN Caiyu SUN Yuting ZHOU Shuang FANG Bangjiang | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,5: | 0 |
