| 1 | Optimization of dewatering schemes for a deep foundation pit near the Yangtze River, China显示文摘A deep foundation pit constructed for an underground transportation hub was excavated near the Yangtze River. Among the strata, there are two confined aquifers, between which lies an aquiclude that is partially missing. To guarantee the safety of pit excavation, the piezometric head of the upper confined aquifer, where the pit bottom is located, should be 1 m below the pit bottom, while that of the lower confined aquifer should be dewatered down to a safe water level to avoid uplift problem. The Yangtze River levee is notably close to the pit, and its deformation caused by dewatering should be controlled. A pumping test was performed to obtain the hydraulic conductivity of the upper confined aquifer. The average value of the hydraulic conductivity obtained from analytical calculation is 20.45 m/d, which is larger than the values from numerical simulation(horizontal hydraulic conductivity K_H = 16 m/d and vertical hydraulic conductivity K_V = S m/d). The difference between K_H and K_V indicates the anisotropy of the aquifer. Two dewatering schemes were designed for the construction and simulated by the numerical models for comparison purposes. The results show that though the first scheme could meet the dewatering requirements, the largest accumulated settlement and differential settlement would be94.64 mm and 3.3‰, respectively, greatly exceeding the limited values. | 5 | “Series and parallel” design of ether linkage and imidazolium cation synergistically regulated four-armed polymerized ionic liquid for all-solid-state polymer electrolyte显示文摘Developing all-solid-state polymer electrolytes(SPEs) with high electrochemical performances and stability is of great importance for exploiting of high energy density and safe batteries. Herein, ether linkage and imidazolium ionic liquid(ILs) are incorporated into the multi-armed polymer backbone though the series and parallel way. The parallel polymeric ionic liquid(P-P(PEGMA-IM)) maximizes the synergistic effect of ILs and ether linkage, which endowed the material with low crystallinity and high flame retardancy. The P-P(PEGMA-IM) based P-SPE presents a high ionic conductivity of 0.489 m S/cm at 60°C, an excellent lithium-ion transference number of 0.46 and a wide electrochemical window of 4.87 V.The assembled lithium metal battery using P-SPE can deliver a capacity of 151 m Ah/g at 0.2 C, and the capacity retention ratio reaches 82% with a columbic efficiency beyond 99%. The overpotential of P-SPE based symmetric battery is 0.08 V, and there is no apparent magnifying even after 130 h cycling. | 12 | Effects of iron oxide nanoparticles on phenotype and metabolite changes in hemp clones(Cannabis sativa L.)显示文摘We investigated the effect of iron oxide nanoparticles(Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs,~17 nm in size)on the phenotype and metabolite changes in hemp(Cannabis sativa L.),an annual crop distributed worldwide.Hemp clones were grown in hydroponic cultures with Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs(50,100,200,or 500 mg/L)for four weeks.TEM and ICP-MS were used to determine Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs uptake and translocation.LC-MS-based metabolomics was employed to explore the deep insight into the effect of Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs on hemp plants.The results revealed that plant growth enhanced gradually with increasing concentrations of given NPs up to 200 mg/L,which improved the fresh weight and dry weight by 36.13%and 74.68%,respectively,compared to the control.Even at a high dose(500 mg/L),Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs promoted plant growth,including increased biomass and tissue length.NPs significantly increased the iron and chlorophyll content in plant tissues Increased catalase activity and reduced hydrogen peroxide content in hemp leaves suggested that the Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs activated the defense system.TEM showed that NPs were abundantly attached to the cell wall and dispersed throughout the root cells.Metabolomics revealed that Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs induced metabolic reprogramming in hemp leaves,including the up-regulation of carbohydrates and organic acids,and down-regulation of antioxidants,especially tetrahydrocannabinol(THC).The significantly up-regulated metabolites,including peonidin and 2-hydroxycinnamic acid,could be involved in photosynthesis in hemp plants.These results demonstrate the potential of Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs for promoting hemp growth and decreasing the THC content at low doses. | Canhui Deng Qing Tang Zemao Yang Zhigang Dai Chaohua Cheng Ying Xu Xiaojun Chen Xiaoyu Zhang Jianguang Su | 2022 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,10: | 0 |
| 13 | Topological prime显示文摘This paper describes a general method, called topological prime, to stitch functional groups to a substrate of entropic polymer network. The precursor of a topological primer contains polymers, crosslinkers, and coupling agents. When the precursor is applied on the surface of the substrate, the crosslinkers link the primer polymers into a primer network, in topological entanglement with the substrate network, while the coupling agents link the primer network to the functional groups. The use of topological prime is demonstrated by priming a hydrophobic elastomer of an arbitrary shape for hydrophilic coating. We describe an approach that fulfills two fundamental requirements: wetting and adhesion. The coated elastomer maintains hydrophilicity and lubricity after stretch, scratch, swell, and slide. As a further demonstration, a hydrogel substrate is primed for hydrophobic coating.
