2The mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine underlying the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis显示文摘Atherosclerosis(AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with high morbidity and mortality. The incidence of AS is increasing in the last decades. So development of safe and effective therapeutics for treating AS has become prominently important. Although there are numerous chemical drugs available for treating AS, some drugs are not effective and some have serious side effects. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has a long history for the prevention and treatment of AS due to its less side effects and superior efficacy. This paper describes the effectiveness and underlying mechanisms for prevention and treatment of AS by TCM or its active components. Some TCM, e.g. XuemaiNing, Tongxinluo and Salvia miltiorrhiza have been reported to have cardio-protective effect. 5Numerical studies of gas hydrate evolution time in Shenhu area in the northern South China Sea显示文摘Although the Shenhu sea area has been a topic and focus of intense research for the exploration and study of marine gas hydrate in China, the mechanism of gas hydrate accumulation in this region remains controversial. The formation rate and evolution time of gas hydrate are the critical basis for studying the gas hydrate formation of the Shenhu sea area. In this paper, based on the positive anomaly characteristics of chloride concentration that measured in the GMGS3-W19 drilling site is higher than the seawater value, we numerically simulated the gas hydrate formation time of GMGS3-W19 site. The simulation results show that the gas hydrate formation rate positively correlates with the chloride concentration when the hydrate reaches the measured saturation. The formation time of gas hydrate in the GMGS3-W19 site is approximately 30 ka. 7A consensus linkage map of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) to compare the distribution and variation of QTLs associated with growth traits显示文摘The ability to detect and identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in a single population is often limited. Analyzing multiple populations in QTL analysis improves the power of detecting QTLs and provides a better understanding of their functional allelic variation and distribution. In this study, a consensus map of the common carp was constructed, based on four populations, to compare the distribution and variation of QTLs. The consensus map spans 2371.6 cM across the 42 linkage groups and comprises 257 microsatellites and 421 SNPs, with a mean marker interval of 3.7 cM/marker. Sixty-seven QTLs affecting four growth traits from the four populations were mapped to the consensus map. Only one QTL was common to three populations, and nine QTLs were detected in two populations. However, no QTL was common to all four populations. The results of the QTL comparison suggest that the QTLs are responsible for the phenotypic variability observed for these traits in a broad array of common carp germplasms. 9Abnormal brain activity in adolescents with Internet addiction who attempt suicide: an assessment using functional magnetic resonance imaging显示文摘Internet addiction is associated with an increased risk of suicidal behavior and can lead to brain dysfunction among adolescents.However,whether brain dysfunction occurs in adolescents with Internet addiction who attempt suicide remains unknown.This observational cross-sectional study enrolled 41 young Internet addicts,aged from 15 to 20 years,from the Department of Psychiatry,the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University,China from January to May 2018.The participants included 21 individuals who attempted suicide and 20 individuals with Internet addiction without a suicidal attempt history.Brain images in the resting state were obtained by a 3.0 T magnetic resonance imaging scanner.The results showed that activity in the gyrus frontalis inferior of the right pars triangularis and the right pars opercularis was significantly increased in the suicidal attempt group compared with the non-suicidal attempt group.In the resting state,the prefrontal lobe of adolescents who had attempted suicide because of Internet addiction exhibited functional abnormalities,which may provide a new basis for studying suicide pathogenesis in Internet addicts.The study was authorized by the Ethics Committee of Chongqing Medical University,China(approval No.2017 Scientific Research Ethics(2017-157))on December 11,2017.Yan Huang Lu Xu Li Kuang Wo Wang Jun Cao Mu-Ni Xiao 2020Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,8:3

11D-A-π-A organic sensitizers containing a benzothiazole moiety as an additional acceptor for use in solar cells显示文摘Three novel triphenylamine-based D-A-π-A-featured dyes (Z1-Z3) have been designed, synthesized and characterized for use in dye-sensitized solar cells. Benzothiazole was incorporated as an additional acceptor, which greatly enhanced the molar extinction coefficient of the dyes. Various conjugated linkers, such as benzene, furan and thiophene, were also introduced to configure the novel D-A-π-A framework in order to prolong electron flow and active transportation. 12Enhanced frameless slotted ALOHA protocol with Markov chains analysis显示文摘In this paper, we propose a novel approach to enhance the performance of frameless slotted ALOHA(SA) protocol. We employ signature codes to help the receiver identify the packets contained in collisions, and use successive interference cancellation(SIC) for packet recovery. We model the proposed scheme as a two-state Markov model represented by a uni-partite graph. We evaluate the throughput,expected delay and average memory size of the proposed scheme, and optimize the proposed scheme to maximize the throughput. 13Jujuboside A ameliorates tubulointerstitial fibrosis in diabetic mice through down-regulating the YY1/TGF-β1 signaling pathway显示文摘Diabetic nephropathy(DN)is one of the most common complications of diabetes mellitus,which is characterized in renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis(TIF).The current study was designed to investigate the protective effect of Jujuboside A(Ju A)on TIF in type 2 diabetes(T2DM)mice,and explore its underlying anti-fibrosis mechanism.A mouse T2DM model was established using high fat diet(HFD)feeding combined with intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(STZ).Then,diabetic mice were treated with Ju A(10,20 and 40 mg·kg^(−1)·d^(−1),i.g.)for 12 weeks.Results showed that administration of Ju A not only down-regulated fasting blood glucose(FBG)levels,but also improved hyperlipidemia and renal function in diabetic mice.Moreover,the reduced ECM accumulation was observed in the renal cortex of Ju A treated diabetic mice,while the TIF progression was also attenuated by Ju A through blocking the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EMT)of renal tubular epithelial cells(RTECs).Further mechanism studies showed that Ju A treatment effectively down-regulated the protein expression and subsequent nuclear translocation of Yin Yang 1(YY1)in the renal cortex of diabetic mice,and reduced the levels of transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)in the serum and renal cortex of Ju A treated mice.According to in vitro studies,the up-regulated YY1/TGF-β1 signaling pathway was restored by Ju A in high glucose(HG)cultured HK-2 cells.Taken together,these findings demonstrated that Ju A can ameliorate the TIF of DN through down-regulating the YY1/TGF-β1 signaling pathway.LIU Yang-Yang LI Lin JI Bei HAO Shi-Long KUANG Xiao-Feng CAO Xin-Yun YUAN Jia-Yu JIANG Zhen-Zhou QIAN Si-Tong WEI Chu-Jing XU Jing YIN Xiao-Xing LU Qian YANG Ting-Ting 2022Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2022,20,9:2

15Multiphase convolutional dense network for the classification of focal liver lesions on dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography显示文摘BACKGROUND The accurate classification of focal liver lesions(FLLs)is essential to properly guide treatment options and predict prognosis.Dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography(DCE-CT)is still the cornerstone in the exact classification of FLLs due to its noninvasive nature,high scanning speed,and high-density resolution.Since their recent development,convolutional neural network-based deep learning techniques has been recognized to have high potential for image recognition tasks.AIM To develop and evaluate an automated multiphase convolutional dense network(MP-CDN)to classify FLLs on multiphase CT.METHODS A total of 517 FLLs scanned on a 320-detector CT scanner using a four-phase DCECT imaging protocol(including precontrast phase,arterial phase,portal venous phase,and delayed phase)from 2012 to 2017 were retrospectively enrolled.FLLs were classified into four categories:Category A,hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC);category B,liver metastases;category C,benign non-inflammatory FLLs including hemangiomas,focal nodular hyperplasias and adenomas;and category D,hepatic abscesses.Each category was split into a training set and test set in an approximate 8:2 ratio.An MP-CDN classifier with a sequential input of the fourphase CT images was developed to automatically classify FLLs.The classification performance of the model was evaluated on the test set;the accuracy and specificity were calculated from the confusion matrix,and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)was calculated from the SoftMax probability outputted from the last layer of the MP-CDN.RESULTS A total of 410 FLLs were used for training and 107 FLLs were used for testing.The mean classification accuracy of the test set was 81.3%(87/107).The accuracy/specificity of distinguishing each category from the others were 0.916/0.964,0.925/0.905,0.860/0.918,and 0.925/0.963 for HCC,metastases,benign non-inflammatory FLLs,and abscesses on the test set,respectively.The AUC(95%confidence interval)for differentiating each category from the others was 0.92(0.837-0.992),0.99(0.967-1.00),0.88(0.795-0.955)and 0.96(0.914-0.996)for HCC,metastases,benign non-inflammatory FLLs,and abscesses on the test set,respectively.CONCLUSION MP-CDN accurately classified FLLs detected on four-phase CT as HCC,metastases,benign non-inflammatory FLLs and hepatic abscesses and may assist radiologists in identifying the different types of FLLs.Su-E Cao Lin-Qi Zhang Si-Chi Kuang Wen-Qi Shi Bing Hu Si-Dong Xie Yi-Nan Chen Hui Liu Si-Min Chen Ting Jiang Meng Ye Han-Xi Zhang Jin Wang 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,25:2

20Reactivity study and kinetic evaluation of CuO-based oxygen carriers modified by three different ores in chemical looping with oxygen uncoupling(CLOU)process显示文摘In the chemical looping with oxygen uncoupling(CLOU)process,CuO is a promising material due to the high oxygen carrier capacity and exothermic reaction in fuel reactor but limited by the low melting point.The combustion rate of carbon is faster than the decoupling rate of oxygen carrier(OC).Hence,high temperature tolerance and rapid oxygen release rate of CuO modified by three different ores were investigated in this study.The kinetics analysis of oxygen decoupling with Cu-based oxygen carriers was also evaluated.Results showed that CuO modified by chrysolite had faster oxygen release rate than that of CuO.Limestone showed obvious positive effect on the oxidization process.The selected OCs could keep stable in at least 20 cycles,for about 1200 min.Shrinking core model(SCM)fitted well for the decoupling process in the temperature range of 1123-1223 K.Reduction rate kinetic information may aid in the development of chemical looping with oxygen uncoupling(CLOU)technologies during reactor design and process modeling.Ternary doped copper oxide with chrysolite and limestone could improve the reactivity of CuO in decoupling and coupling process and also improve the high temperature tolerance.Cao Kuang Shuzhong Wang Ming Luo Jun Zhao 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,9:1
