1Characterization of the cDNA encoding a BPI/LBP homologue in venom gland of the hundred-pace snake Deinagkistrodon acutus显示文摘Bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein(BPI)and LPS-binding protein(LBP)play an important role in host defence.Current evidence shows that BPI/LBP may be widely existed in different cells and tissue types of animals.A full-length cDNA clone encoding a BPI/LBP homologue(dBPI),1757 bp in size,was characterized in venom gland of the hundred-pace snake Deinagkistrodon acutus.Its deduced amino acid sequence of 417 residues had 13.8%-21.5% identity to BPI like 1(BPIL1)and BPI like 3(BPIL3)of other animals.Conserved cysteine residues which are involved in disulfide bond formation between the final strand of the N-terminal beta sheet and the long alpha helix of BPI are identified as Cys146-Cys183 of dBPI.Phylogenetic tree analysis showed that the BPI/LBP homologues formed five large clusters and dBPI was in a large cluster including BPIL1 and BPIL3.dBPI mRNA shows a tissue specific expression in venom gland.This is the first study to identify the cDNA encoding BPI/LBP homologues from reptiles.Jianrao HU Mingfu CAO Jiong CHEN 2009Current Zoology2009,55,5:1

5Occurrence Regularity and Control of Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV) in Wuxi Tobacco Area of China in 2011显示文摘On the basis of general situation and new characteristics of tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) in Wuxi tobacco area in 2011, the paper expounded the objective reasons of TMV via systemic investigation, field experiment and date sorting. Meanwhile, combined with meteorological conditions and results of systemic investigation, the study especially analyzed meteorological conditions, outbreak and prevalence regularity of TMV and control efficacy of chemical reagents against TMV. The results showed that climatic conditions were the main conditions affecting TMV. There were three occurrence peaks of TMV in 2011, as a result of meteorological conditions of the months from April to June. The peaks were concerned with a wide range of rainfall about half a month before, low temperature, high humidity and scant sunshine and temperature jump after rain. 6Anti-diabetic potential of apigenin,luteolin,and baicalein via partially activating PI3K/Akt/GLUT-4 signaling pathways in insulin-resistant HepG2 cells显示文摘Dietary flavonoids are abundant in natural plants and possess multiple pharmacological and nutritional activities.In this study,apigenin,luteolin,and baicalein were chosen to evaluate their anti-diabetic effect in high-glucose and dexamethasone induced insulin-resistant(IR)HepG2 cells.All flavonoids improves the glucose consumption and glycogen synthesis abilities in IR-HepG2 cells via activating glucose transporter protein 4(GLUT4)and phosphor-glycogen synthase kinase(GSK-3β).These fl avonoids signifi cantly inhibited the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS)and advanced glycation end-products(AGEs),which were closely related to the suppression of the phosphorylation form of NF-κB and P65.The expression levels of insulin receptor substrate-1(IRS-1),insulin receptor substrate-2(IRS-2)and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt)pathway in IR-HepG2 cells were all partially activated by the fl avonoids,with variable effects.Furthermore,the intracellular metabolic conditions of the fl avonoids were also evaluated.Lingchao Miao Haolin Zhang Meng Sam Cheong Ruting Zhong Paula Garcia-Oliveira Miguel A.Prieto Ka-Wing Cheng Mingfu Wang Hui Cao Shaoping Nie Jesus Simal-Gandara Wai San Cheang Jianbo Xiao 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,6:0
