1Optimizing Heavy-duty Anticorrosive Performances of Coating Films Formed by Acrylate-vinylidene Chloride Copolymer Latexes through Twice-painting Technique显示文摘Twice-painting technique was adopted to prepare heavy-duty anticorrosive coating films formed by aqueous latexes of copolymers of vinylidene chloride(VDC) with an acrylate, namely methyl acrylate(MA), ethyl acrylate(EA), butyl acrylate(BA) or 2-ethylhexyl acrylate(EHA). Harsh salt-spray corrosion tests demonstrated that the optimized twicepainting technique was that the acidic latex solution was adjusted to p H 5-6 for the first painting, while it was utilized directly for the second painting. The test of 600 h of harsh salt-spray corrosion showed that MA-VDC85 coating could protect the steel excellently, whereas the other acrylate-VDC coatings with 75%-90% VDC content could not protect the steel so effectively. Further corrosion test showed that(1) MA-VDC85 coating protected steel from loss of metallic luster for at least 1000 h of salt-spray corrosion;(2) adhesion of MA-VDC85 coating to steel was excellent for at least 800 h of saltspray corrosion, but became very poor after 1000 h. 2Expert knowledge maps for knowledge management: a case study inTraditional Chinese Medicine research显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To design a model to capture information on the state and trends of knowledge creation,at both an individual and an organizational level,in order to enhance knowledge management.METHODS:We designed a graph-theoretic knowledge model,the expert knowledge map(EKM),based on literature-based annotation.A case study in the domain of Traditional Chinese Medicine research was used to illustrate the usefulness of the model.RESULTS:The EKM successfully captured various aspects of knowledge and enhanced knowledge management within the case-study organization through the provision of knowledge graphs,expert graphs,and expert-knowledge biography.CONCLUSION:Our model could help to reveal thehot topics,trends,and products of the research done by an organization.It can potentially be used to facilitate knowledge learning,sharing and decision-making among researchers,academicians,students,and administrators of organizations.Meng Cui Shuo Yang Tong Yu Ce Yang Yonghong Gao Haiyan Zhu 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,5:2

10Visible-light-driven photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B using Bi_(2)WO_(6)/GO deposited on polyethylene terephthalate fabric显示文摘The environmental repercussions of wastewater from the dye process mean that it is very important to obtain an eco-friendly photocatalyst that would degrade wastewater.Herein,bismuth tungstate/graphene oxide(Bi_(2)WO_(6)/GO)composites are fabricated through in-situ hydrothermal reaction and then the Bi_(2)WO_(6)/GO photocatalysts are deposited onto polyethylene terephthalate(PET)fabric.The obtained Bi_(2)WO_(6)/GO deposited PET fabrics are then characterized through XPS,Raman,SEM,TEM,XRD,UV-vis,BET method and photoluminescence spectroscopy(PL)to investigate their chemical and crystal structures,morphology,optical property,surface area and photochemical properties.Photocatalytic performance is studied through examining the rate of degrading rhodamine B(RhB)under visible light.Surface of PET fibers is densely covered with Bi_(2)WO_(6)/GO.Bi_(2)WO_(6)/GO deposited PET fabrics show a broad absorption band in the visible spectra.Removal rate of RhB on the Bi_(2)WO_(6)/GO deposited PET fabric is the highest with the GO content of 2 g/L(labeled as Bi_(2)WO_(6)/2 g/LGO).The result of active species experiment shows that superoxide radicals(·O_(2)^(−))plays a major role in the degradation of RhB.Moreover,Bi_(2)WO_(6)/2 g/LGO deposited PET fabric shows excellent cycle stability of photocatalytic degradation for RhB.The findings in this work can be extended to preparation other types of composite on the textile for photocatalysis,which can be applied to remove dyes in the wastewater produced by the textile or leather industry.Zoufei Du Ce Cui Sihang Zhang Hongyan Xiao Erhui Ren Ronghui Guo Shouxiang Jiang 2020Journal of Leather Science and Engineering2020,2,1:1
11Provenance of sediments in the northern Manila Trench:An assessment from detrital zircon geochronology显示文摘Manila Trench is a critical region for revealing the tectonic evolution and source-to-sink process of the South China Sea,but the sediment provenance in the northern part of the trench remains unclear.In this study,we present a first detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology of sediments in the northern Manila Trench,in the vicinity of Northwestern Luzon Island,to identify the sediment provenance and understand the source-to-sink process in the marginal sea.The study shows that the sediments yielded multiple zircon age populations at ca.123,221,443,565,906,and 1871 Ma.A detailed detrital zircon age study indicates that the sediments were derived mainly from Taiwan Island,China,rather than the nearby Luzon Island.In comparison with the modern drainage systems surrounding northeastern South China Sea,this study further confirms that the sediments primarily originated from the Gaoping River(ca.45%),with subordinate contributions from the Lanyang River(ca.24%)and Min River(ca.19%).The study also elucidates two completely different sedimentary transport modes in the northern Manila Trench.The transportation of sediments from southwestern Taiwan Island is primarily related to the gravity-driven transport through the Gaoping submarine canyon.Furthermore,a quarter of detritus derived from eastern Taiwan Island might have been transported by the deep-water circulation of the Luzon Strait.This study highlights the provenance and transport pathway of sediments in the northern Manila Trench and provides a solution for understanding the source-to-sink process in the marginal sea.Ce WANG Heqi CUI Letian ZENG Ming SU 2023Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,1:0
12Evolution of Conformation and Dynamics of Solvents in Hydration Shell along the Urea-induced Unfolding of Ubiquitin显示文摘A clear diagram for the unfolding of protein induced by denaturant is a classical but still unsolved challenge. To explore the unfolded conformations of ubiquitin under different urea concentrations, we performed hybrid Monte Carlo-molecular dynamics simulations (MC-MD) guided by small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) structural information. Conformational ensembles sampled by the hybrid MC-MD algorithm exhibited typical 3D structures at different urea concentrations. These typical structures suggested that ubiquitin was subjected to a sequential unfolding, where the native contacts between adjacent β-sheets at first were disrupted together with the exposure of hydrophobic core, followed by the conversion of remaining β-strands and helices into random coils. Ubiquitin in 8 mol·L?1 urea is almost a random coil. With the disruption of native structure, urea molecules are enriched at protein hydrated layer to stabilize newly exposed residues. Compared with water, urea molecules prefer to form hydrogen bonds with the backbone of ubiquitin, thus occupying nodes of the hydrogen bonding network that construct the secondary structure of proteins. Meanwhile, we also found that the slow dynamics of urea molecules was almost unchanged while the dynamics of water was accelerated in the hydration shell when more residues were unfolded and exposed.
