| 2 | Ginsenoside Rg3 inhibits colon cancer cell migration by suppressing nuclear factor kappa B activity显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study the mechanism of the inhibitory effect of ginsenoside Rg3 on colon cancer cell migration.METHODS: Transwell migration assays were performed to investigate the inhibitory effect of ginsenoside Rg3 on SW480 cell migration. Electrophoretic mobility shift assays(EMSAs) and dual luciferase reporter assays were used to study the suppression capability of Rg3 on nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB) activity. Western blotting was adopted to determine protein levels.RESULTS: Two-hundred micromolar ginsenoside Rg3 significantly inhibited SW480 cell migration(P < 0.05). EMSA showed that Rg3 suppressed the DNA binding ability of NF-κB. Dual luciferase reporter assay showed that Rg3 decreased NF-κB-regulated gene transcription(P < 0.01). Western blots indicated that Rg3 down-regulated expression of the NF-κB-regulated matrix metalloproteinase 9,cyclooxygenase-2 and C-Myc. An NF-κB inhibitor,pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate,enhanced the inhibitory effect of Rg3 on SW480 cell migration.CONCLUSION: Ginsenoside Rg3 has a strong antitumor migration capability by suppressing NF-κB activity and expression of NF-κB-regulated gene products. | 3 | Economic power dispatch in smart grids: a framework for distributed optimization and consensus dynamics显示文摘By using the distributed consensus theory in multi-agent systems, the strategy of economic power dispatch is studied in a smart grid, where many generation units work cooperatively to achieve an optimal solution in a local area. The relationship between the distributed optimization solution and consensus in multi-agent systems is first revealed in this paper, which can serve as a general framework for future studies of this topic. First, without the constraints of capacity limitations, it is found that the total cost for all the generators in a smart grid can achieve the minimal value if the consensus can be reached for the incremental cost of all the generation units and the balance between the supply and demand of powers is kept. Then, by designing a distributed consensus control protocol in multi-agent systems with appropriate initial conditions,incremental cost consensus can be realized and the balance for the powers can also be satisfied. Furthermore,the difficult problem for distributed optimization of the total cost function with bounded capacity limitations is also discussed. A reformulated barrier function is proposed to simplify the analysis, under which the total cost can reach the minimal value if consensus can be achieved for the modified incremental cost with some appropriate initial values. Thus, the distributed optimization problems for the cost function of all generation units with and without bounded capacity limitations can both be solved by using the idea of consensus in multi-agent systems, whose theoretical analysis is still lacking nowadays. | 5 | Review and discussion on fire behavior of bridge girders显示文摘This paper presents an overview on fire behavior of bridge girders mainly including prestressed concrete(PC) bridge girders and steel bridge girders. The typical fire accidents occurred on bridges are illustrated and, the seriousness of posing threats to bridge structures resulted from increasing traffic fires, specially intense hydrocarbon fires generated from petrol-chemicals, is highlighted. The current researches, embracing high-temperature properties of constituent materials, prestress state, measurement in fire tests, numerical methods, structural fire resistance, and so forth, taken on coping with problems existing in fire behavior and structural fire behavior in bridge girders are reviewed and discussed. Further, strategies for enhancing fire resistance of bridge girders followed with failure criterion and mode in types of bridge structures are provided. Future research area along with emerging trends in structural fire behavior of bridge girders is also recommended for mitigating fire hazards occurred on bridge girders. Herein, it can be attained a conclusion from review and discussion that prestressed concrete bridge girders with thin webs, specially T-shaped bridge girder, are prone to unstable under fire exposure conditions. High-strength concrete utilized in prestressed concrete bridge girders is vulnerable to spalling at elevated temperature. | 6 | ETME,a novel β-elemene derivative,synergizes with arsenic trioxide in inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in hepatocarcinoma cells via a p53-dependent pathway显示文摘Arsenic trioxide(ATO)has been identified as an effective treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL)but is much less effective against solid tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).In the search for ways to enhance its therapeutic efficacy against solid tumors,we have examined its use in combination with a novel derivative ofβ-elemene,N-(β-elemene-13-yl)tryptophan methyl ester(ETME).Here we report the effects of the combination on cell viability,apoptosis,the cell cycle and mitochondria membrane potential(MMP)in HCC SMMC-7721 cells.We found that the two compounds acted synergistically to enhance antiproliferative activity and apoptosis.The combination also decreased the MMP,down-regulated Bcl-2 and pro-proteins of the caspase family,and up-regulated Bax and BID,all of which were reversed by the p53 inhibitor,pifithrin-α.In addition,the combination induced cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and reduced tumor volume and weight in an xenograft model of nude mice.Overall,the results suggest that ETME in combination with ATO may be useful in the treatment of HCC patients particularly those unresponsive to ATO alone. | Zhiying Yu Fangling Wu Liang Chen Qian Li Chaojie Wang Jinhua Dong Song-qiang Xie | 2014 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,6: | 7 |
| 7 | Molecular dissection of plant height QTLs using recombinant inbred lines from hybrids between common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and spelt wheat (Triticum spelta L.)显示文摘In wheat, plant height is an important agronomic trait, and a number of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) controlling plant height have been located. In this study, using the conditional and unconditional QTL mapping methods, combined with data from five different growth stages over two years of field trials, the developmental behavior for plant height in wheat was dissected. Nine unconditional QTLs and 8 conditional QTLs were identified, of which 6 were detected by both methods. None of the 11 QTLs was detected at all of the 5 investigated developmental stages, but 7 QTLs were detected at certain stages in both years. Further analysis identified 9 unconditional QTLs at different stages, which could explain the phenotypic variation from 4.81% to 17.35%. It was noteworthy that one major QTL designated QHt-4B-2, which was located on chromosome 4B, was detected on May 18 and 25 in both years, and its genetic contributions to plant height ranged from 13.42% to 16.13%. Moreover, of the 8 conditional QTLs identified, six were detected in both years, in the order of QHt-3B→QHt-4B-1→QHt-4B-2→QHt-4D→QHt-5A and QHt-2B expressed at the same developmental stage. | 9 | Identifying changes in the wheat kernel proteome under heat stress using iTRAQ显示文摘Wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the three major global food crops. Hightemperature stress can affect its yield and quality. Studies of the effect of hightemperature stress on wheat kernel development are important because they can reveal the stability of wheat quality and lead to the genetic improvement of wheat quality traits. In this study, the isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation(iTRAQ)method was adopted to analyze changes in the protein expression profile of wheat cultivars under high temperature stress. The protein content of wheat grain increased under heat stress, while the SDS-sedimentation value and starch content decreased.Grain filling was deficient under high temperature stress, which reduced thousandkernel weight but did not affect wheat kernel length. The 207 differentially expressed proteins identified in Gaocheng 8901 under heat stress were associated with energy metabolism, growth and development, and stress response. Gene Ontology enrichment analysis showed that the annotated proteins that were differentially expressed in Gaocheng 8901 under heat stress were involved mainly in stimulus response, abiotic stress response, stress response, and plasma membrane. A set of 78 differentially expressed proteins were assigned to 83 KEGG signaling/metabolic pathways. KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that this set of proteins was significantly enriched in members of 51 pathways, and the proteins participated mainly in protein synthesis in the endoplasmic reticulum, starch and sucrose metabolism, and reaction on ribosomes. Five differentially expressed proteins were involved in protein–protein interaction networks that may greatly influence the yield and quality of wheat grain. | 11 | Approach to inter-satellite time synchronization for micro-satellite cluster显示文摘Micro-satellite cluster enables a whole new class of missions for communications, remote sensing, and scientific research for both civilian and military purposes. Synchronizing the time of the satellites in a cluster is important for both cluster sensing capabilities and its autonomous operating. However, the existing time synchronization methods are not suitable for microsatellite cluster, because it requires too many human interventions and occupies too much ground control resource. Although, data post-process may realize the equivalent time synchronization, it requires processing time and powerful computing ability on the ground, which cannot be implemented by cluster itself. In order to autonomously establish and maintain the time benchmark in a cluster, we propose a compact time difference compensation system(TDCS), which is a kind of time control loop that dynamically adjusts the satellite reference frequency according to the time difference. Consequently, the time synchronization in the cluster can be autonomously achieved on-orbit by synchronizing the clock of other satellites to a chosen one's. | 12 | Loose architecture of multi-level massive geospatial data based on virtual quadtree显示文摘This paper proposed a virtual quadtree (VQT) based loose architecture of multi-level massive geospatial data for integrating massive geospatial data dispersed in the departments of different hierarchies in the same sector into a unified GIS (Geographic Information System) platform. By virtualizing the nodes of the quad-tree,the VQT separates the structure of data organization from data storage,and screens the difference between the data storage in local computer and in the re-mote computers in network environment. And by mounting,VQT easily integrates the data from the remote computers into the local VQT so as to implement seam-less integration of distributed multi-level massive geospatial data. Based on that mode,the paper built an application system with geospatial data over 1200 GB distributed in 12 servers deployed in 12 cities. | 15 | Influences of Film Thickness on the Electrical Properties of TaN_x Thin Films Deposited by Reactive DC Magnetron Sputtering显示文摘TaNx thin films were deposited on commercial polished Al2O3 ceramic substrates by reactive dc magnetron sputtering. The influences of the film thickness on the electrical properties of the samples were examined in detail. It is found that the film thickness does not influence the phase structures of the TaNx thin films. The sheet resistances of the samples shift from 173 Ω/sq. to 7.5 Ω/sq. with the film thickness shifting from 30 nm to 280 nm. With the increase of the film thickness from 30 nm to 280 nm, the temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of the samples shifts from negative value to positive value. When the film thickness is about 100 nm, TaNx thin films exhibits a near-zero TCR value (approximately -15×10-6/℃). This fact implies that TaNx thin films with a null TCR can be obtained by adjusting the film thickness. The unique bi-directional ions transfer in unstack graphene layers and high mesopore ratio of MTGs allows capacitance reach 15 μF/cm^2 at 0.5 A/g, and11 μF/cm^2 at 10 A/g, which is closer to theoretical value(21μF/cm^2) than SWCNTs and DWCNTs at either low or high rate. Meanwhile, MTGs exhibited good structural stability, high surface area(701 m^2/g), high conductivity(30 S/cm) and low oxygen ratio(0.7 atom%), allowing excellent SC performance. The 4 V EDLC using MTGs and EMIMBF_4 electrolyte exhibited high energy density in wide range of high power density and excellent cycling stability, showing strong potential in EDLC and other electrochemical energy storage systems, in addition, showing significant factor of ion transfer distance for high performance SCs especially operating at high voltage using ionic liquid electrolyte. | Jiarui Tian Chaojie Cui Chao Zheng Weizhong Qian | 2018 | Chinese Chemical Letters2018,29,4: | 3 |
