| 1 | Organochlorine compounds and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in surface sediment from Baiyangdian Lake,North China:Concentrations,sources profiles and potential risk显示文摘Organochlorine pesticides(OCPs),polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs),and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) were determined in nineteen surface sediment samples collected from Baiyangdian Lake and its inflowing river(Fuhe River) in North China.Total concentrations of OCPs,PCBs and PAHs in sediments ranged from 5.4 to 707.6 ng/g,2.3 to 197.8 ng/g,and 101.3 to 6360.5 ng/g,respectively.The levels of contaminants in Fuhe River were significantly higher than those in Baiyandian Lake.For hexachlorocyclohexane(HCHs) and dichlorodiphenytrichloroethanes(DDTs),α-HCH and p,p-DDT were predominant isomers;while for PCBs,PCB 28/31,PCB 40/103,PCB 60,PCB 101,and PCB 118 were predominant congeners.Possible sources derived from historical usage for OCPs and incomplete combustion fuel,wood,and coal and exhaustion of boats or cars for PAHs.Risk assessment of sediment indicated that sediments in Fuhe River were likely to pose potential biological adverse impact. | Guocheng Hu Xiaojun Luo Fengchao Li Jiayin Dai Jianyang Guo Shejun Chen Cao Hong Bixian Mai Muqi Xu | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,2: | 42 |
| 2 | A novel m6A reader Prrc2a controls oligodendroglial specification and myelination显示文摘While N6-methyladenosine (m6A), the most abundant internal modification in eukaryotic mRNA, is linked to cell differentiation and tissue development, the biological significance of m6A modification in mammalian glial development remains unknown. Here, we identify a novel m6A reader, Prrc2a (Proline rich coiled-coil 2A), which controls oligodendrocyte specification and myelination. Nestin-Cre-mediated knockout of Prrc2a induces significant hypomyelination, decreased lifespan, as well as locomotive and cognitive defects in a mouse model. Further analyses reveal that Prrc2a is involved in oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs) proliferation and oligodendrocyte fate determination. Accordingly, oligodendroglial-lineage specific deletion of Prrc2a causes a similar phenotype of Nestin-Cre-mediated deletion. Combining transcriptome-wide RNA-seq, m6A-RIP-seq and Prrc2a RIP-seq analysis, we find that Olig2 is a critical downstream target gene of Prrc2a in oligodendrocyte development. Furthermore, Prrc2a stabilizes Olig2 mRNA through binding to a consensus GGACU motif in the Olig2 CDS (coding sequence) in an m6A-dependent manner. Interestingly, we also find that the m6A demethylase, Fto, erases the m6A modification of Olig2 mRNA and promotes its degradation. Together, our results indicate that Prrc2a plays an important role in oligodendrocyte specification through functioning as a novel m6A reader. | 4 | Molecular mechanism of adsorption/desorption hysteresis:dynamics of shale gas in nanopores显示文摘Understanding the adsorption and desorption behavior of methane has received considerable attention since it is one of the crucial aspects of the exploitation of shale gas.Unexpectedly,obvious hysteresis is observed from the ideally reversible physical sorption of methane in some experiments.However,the underlying mechanism still remains an open problem.In this study,Monte Carlo(MC) and molecular dynamics(MD) simulations are carried out to explore the molecular mechanisms of adsorption/desorption hysteresis.First,a detailed analysis about the capillary condensation of methane in micropores is presented.The influence of pore width,surface strength,and temperature on the hysteresis loop is further investigated.It is found that a disappearance of hysteresis occurs above a temperature threshold.Combined with the phase diagram of methane,we explicitly point out that capillary condensation is inapplicable for the hysteresis of shale gas under normal temperature conditions.Second,a new mechanism,variation of pore throat size,is proposed and studied.For methane to pass through the throat,a certain energy is required due to the repulsive interaction.The required energy increases with shrinkage of the throat,such that the originally adsorbed methane cannot escape through the narrowed throat.These trapped methane molecules account for the hysteresis.Furthermore,the hysteresis loop is found to increase with the increasing pressure and decreasing temperature.We suggest that the variation of pore throat size can explain the adsorption/desorption hysteresis of shale gas.Our conclusions and findings are of great significance for guiding the efficient exploitation of shale gas. | Jie Chen FengChao Wang He Liu HengAn Wu | 2017 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2017,60,1: | 3 |

| 8 | Capturing the hierarchically assorted modules of protein–protein interactions in the organized nucleome显示文摘Nuclear proteins are major constituents and key regulators of nucleome topological organization and manipulators of nuclear events.To decipher the global connectivity of nuclear proteins and the hierarchically organized modules of their interactions,we conducted two rounds of cross-linking mass spectrometry(XL-MS)analysis,one of which followed a quantitative double chemical cross-linking mass spectrometry(in vivo qXL-MS)workflow,and identified 24,140 unique crosslinks in total from the nuclei of soybean seedlings.This in vivo quantitative interactomics enabled the identification of 5340 crosslinks that can be converted into 1297 nuclear protein–protein interactions(PPIs),1220(94%)of which were non-confirmative(or novel)nuclear PPIs compared with those in repositories.There were 250 and 26 novel interactors of histones and the nucleolar box C/D small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein complex,respectively.Modulomic analysis of orthologous Arabidopsis PPIs produced 27 and 24 master nuclear PPI modules(NPIMs)that contain the condensate-forming protein(s)and the intrinsically disordered region–containing proteins,respectively.These NPIMs successfully captured previously reported nuclear protein complexes and nuclear bodies in the nucleus.Surprisingly,these NPIMs were hierarchically assorted into four higher-order communities in a nucleomic graph,including genome and nucleolus communities.This combinatorial pipeline of 4C quantitative interactomics and PPI network modularization revealed 17 ethylene-specific module variants that participate in a broad range of nuclear events.The pipeline was able to capture both nuclear protein complexes and nuclear bodies,construct the topological architectures of PPI modules and module variants in the nucleome,and probably map the protein compositions of biomolecular condensates. | Shuaijian Dai Shichang Liu Chen Zhou Fengchao Yu Guang Zhu Wenhao Zhang Haiteng Deng Al Burlingame Weichuan Yu Tingliang Wang Ning Li | 2023 | Molecular Plant2023,16,5: | 0 |

| 11 | Long-term exposure to fine particulate matter modifies the association between physical activity and hypertension incidence显示文摘Background:The trade-off between the benefits of regular physical activity(PA)and the potentially detrimental effects of augmented exposure to air pollution in highly polluted regions remains unclear.This study aimed to examine whether ambient fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))exposure modified the impacts of PA volume and intensity on hypertension risk.Methods:We included 54,797 participants without hypertension at baseline in a nationwide cohort of the Prediction for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk in China(China-PAR)project.PA volume and intensitywere assessed by questionnaire,and high-resolution(1 km×1 km)PM_(2.5)estimates were generated using a satellite-based model.Results:During 413,516 person-years of follow-up,12,100 incident hypertension cases were identified.PM_(2.5)significantly modified the relationship between PA and hypertension incidence(p_(interaction)<0.001).Increased PA volume was negatively associated with incident hypertension in the low PM_(2.5)stratum(<59.8μg/m^(3),ptrend<0.001),with a hazard ratio of 0.81(95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.74-0.88)when comparing the fourth with the first quartile of PA volume.However,the health benefits were not observed in the high PM_(2.5)stratum(≥59.8μg/m^(3),p_(trend)=0.370).Moreover,compared with light PA intensity,vigorous intensity was related to a 20%(95%CI:9%-29%)decreased risk of hypertension for participants exposed to low PM_(2.5),but a 17%(95%CI:4%-33%)increased risk for those with high PM_(2.5)levels.Conclusion:PA was associated with a reduced risk of hypertension only among participants with low PM_(2.5)exposure.Our findings recommended regular PA to prevent hypertension in less polluted regions and reinforced the importance of air quality improvement. | Qiong Liu Keyong Huang Fengchao Liang Xueli Yang Jianxin Li Jichun Chen Xiaoqing Liu Jie Cao Chong Shen Ling Yu Yingxin Zhao Ying Deng Ying Li Dongsheng Hu Xiangfeng Lu Yang Liu Dongfeng Gu Fangchao Liu Jianfeng Huang | 2022 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2022,11,6: | 0 |

Wavefront shaping technology is a powerful tool to defeatscattering and focus light through inhomogeneous media, which is vital for optical imaging, communication,therapy, etc. Wavefront shaping based on the scattering matrix (SM) is extremely useful in handling dynamicprocesses in the linear regime. However, the implementation of such a method for controlling light in nonlinearmedia is still a challenge and has been unexplored until now. We report a method to determine the SM ofnonlinear scattering media with second-order nonlinearity. We experimentally demonstrate its feasibility inwavefront control and realize focusing of nonlinear signals through strongly scattering quadratic media.Moreover, we show that statistical properties of this SM still follow the random matrix theory.
