| 1 | A review of the estimation of downward surface shortwave radiation based on satellite data:Methods, progress and problems显示文摘The estimation of downward surface shortwave radiation(DSSR)is important for the Earth’s energy budget and climate change studies.This review was organised from the perspectives of satellite sensors,algorithms and future trends,retrospects and summaries of the satellite-based retrieval methods of DSSR that have been developed over the past 10 years.The shortwave radiation reaching the Earth’s surface is affected by both atmospheric and land surface parameters.In recent years,studies have given detailed considerations to the factors which affect DSSR.It is important to improve the retrieval accuracy of cloud microphysical parameters and aerosols and to reduce the uncertainties caused by complex topographies and high-albedo surfaces(such as snow-covered areas)on DSSR estimation.This review classified DSSR retrieval methods into four categories:empirical,parameterisation,look-up table and machine-learning methods,and evaluated their advantages,disadvantages and accuracy.Further efforts are needed to improve the calculation accuracy of atmospheric parameters such as cloud,haze,water vapor and other land surface parameters such as albedo of complex terrain and bright surface,organically combine machine learning and other methods,use the new-generation geostationary satellite and polar orbit satellite data to produce highresolution DSSR products,and promote the application of radiation products in hydrological and climate models. | Husi LETU Jiancheng SHI Ming LI Tianxing WANG Huazhe SHANG Yonghui LEI Dabin JI Jianguang WEN Kun YANG Liangfu CHEN | 2020 | Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,6: | 8 |

| 3 | Application of Optical Tweezers in the Research of Molecular Interaction between Lymphocyte Function Associated Antigen-1 and Its Monoclonal Antibody显示文摘Lymphocyte function associated antigen-1 (CD11a/CD18, LFA-1) plays an important role in the structure of the immunological synapse and is required for efficient lysis of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and natural killer (NK) cells. To study the activation mode of LFA-1 on the NK cell surface, optical tweezers were used in the work. As an emerging technology, optical tweezers are widely used to manipulate microscopic objects and measure the forces of molecular interactions in the field of biological research. In our study, a new platform was constructed to study the single molecular behavior of receptor on cell surface using optical tweezers. Based on the platform, the interaction between an NK cell and a polystyrene microsphere coated with anti-LFA-1 antibody was observed. The result confirmed that the adhesion forces between an NK cell and a polystyrene bead were time-dependent. | 4 | Assessing the effects of oyster/kelp weight ratio on water column properties: an experimental IMTA study at Sanggou Bay, China显示文摘Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture(IMTA)is an effective method for sustainable aquaculture as species from different trophic levels could reduce negative effects from fed species in the environment.A proper proportion of different trophic species in an IMTA system could improve the aquaculture production and environmental sustainability.At present,research on the proper proportions for farming species is scarce.We investigated the effects of IMTA modes of oyster(Crassostrea gigas)and kelp(Saccharina japonica)in different weight ratios on water quality and carbonate system in a closed enclosure experiment for three days in the Sanggou Bay in Shandong Province,China,in December 2017.Nine collocation modes in oyster:kelp weight ratio were tested showing as 24:3,24:2,24:1,16:3,16:2,16:1,8:3,8:2,and 8:1.The water parameters were determined at 17:00 on Day 1(D1),and 6:00 and 17:00 on Days 2(D2)and 3(D3).As two-way ANOVA showed,all increased parameters(dissolved oxygen(DO),pH,chl a,the carbonate system and pCO2)were significantly related to oyster-kelp modes,and interaction between modes and time were also significant(P<0.05).On the 3th day,the 8:3 mode was the highest in DO,pH,chl a,CO32-(P<0.05),and dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC),HCO3-,CO2,and pCO2 were the lowest(P<0.05).According to previous references and the results of this study,the appropriate oyster:kelp proportion at the beginning of winter is from 8:2 to 8:3.The results of this study may help government to optimize the aquaculture structure of Sanggou Bay. | FANG Jinghui FANG Jianguang CHEN Qionglin MAO Yuze JIANG Zengjie DU Meirong GAO Yaping LIN Fan | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,6: | 2 |
| 5 | Identification of a novel PHGDH covalent inhibitor by chemical proteomics and phenotypic profiling显示文摘The first rate-limiting enzyme of the serine synthesis pathway(SSP), phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase(PHGDH), is hyperactive in multiple tumors, which leads to the activation of SSP and promotes tumorigenesis. However, only a few inhibitors of PHGDH have been discovered to date, especially the covalent inhibitors of PHGDH. Here, we identified withangulatin A(WA), a natural small molecule,as a novel covalent inhibitor of PHGDH. Affinity-based protein profiling identified that WA could directly bind to PHGDH and inactivate the enzyme activity of PHGDH. Biolayer interferometry and LC-MS/MS analysis further demonstrated the selective covalent binding of WA to the cysteine 295 residue(Cys295)of PHGDH. With the covalent modification of Cys295, WA blocked the substrate-binding domain(SBD)of PHGDH and exerted an allosteric effect to induce PHGDH inactivation. | 6 | Ag doped urchin-like α-MnO2 toward efficient and bifunctional electrocatalysts for Li-02 batteries显示文摘Rechargeable Li-O2 batteries (LOBs) have been receiving intensive attention because of their ultra-high theoretical energy densityclose to the gasoline. Herein, Ag modified urchin-like α-MnO2 (Ag-MnO2) material with hierarchical porous structure is obtained bya facile one-step hydrothermal method. Ag-MnO2 possesses thick nanowires and presents hierarchical porous structure of mesoporesand macropores. The unique structure can expose more active sites, and provide continuous pathways for O2 and discharge productsas well. The doping of Ag leads to the change of electronic distribution in α-MnO2 (i.e., more oxygen vacancies), which playimportant roles in improving their intrinsic catalytic activity and conductivity. As a result, LOBs with Ag-MnO2 catalysts exhibit loweroverpotential, higher discharge specific capacity and much better cycle stability compared to pure a-MnO2. LOBs with Ag-MnO2catalysts exhibit a superior discharge specific capacity of 13,131 mA·h·g^-1 at a current density of 200 mA·h·g^-1, a good cycle stabilityof 500 cycles at the capacity of 500 mA·h·g^-1. | 8 | Integrative analysis of prognostic long non-coding RNAs with copy number variation in bladder cancer显示文摘Copy number variations(CNVs), which can affect the role of long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs), are important genetic changes seen in some malignant tumors. We analyzed lncRNAs with CNV to explore the relationship between lncRNAs and prognosis in bladder cancer(BLCA). Messenger RNA(mRNA) expression levels, DNA methylation, and DNA copy number data of 408 BLCA patients were subjected to integrative bioinformatics analysis. Cluster analysis was performed to obtain different subtypes and differently expressed lncRNAs and coding genes. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA) was performed to identify the co-expression gene and lncRNA modules. CNV-associated lncRNA data and their influence on cancer prognosis were assessed with Kaplan-Meier survival curve. Multi-omics integration analysis revealed five prognostic lncRNAs with CNV, namely NR2 F1-AS1, LINC01138, THUMPD3-AS1, LOC101928489, and TMEM147-AS1, and a risk-score signature related to overall survival in BLCA was identified. Moreover, validated results in another independent Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO) dataset, GSE31684, were consistent with these results. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) enrichment analysis revealed that the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) signaling pathway, focal adhesion pathway, and Janus kinase-signal transducers and activators of transcription(JAK-STAT) signaling pathway were enriched in a high-risk score pattern, suggesting that imbalance in these pathways is closely related to tumor development. | 13 | Enhanced hydrogen storage properties of NaBH_(4)–Mg(BH_(4))_(2) composites by NdF_(3) addition显示文摘As two important members of complex hydrides,Mg(BH_(4))2 and Na BH_(4) have a high gravimetric capacity(14.9 and10.8 wt%,respectively).In this study,the Mg(BH_(4))2 was synthesized by the ion exchange method.Afterwards,the Mg(BH_(4))_(2) and Na BH_(4) composites with different amounts(30,40 and 50 wt%)of NdF3 were prepared by mechanical milling.Effects of the Nd F3 on the microstructural evolution and hydrogen storage properties were investigated.The results show that Nd F3catalyst can significantly improve the dehydrogenation kinetics of the eutectic composites of Na BH_(4)–Mg(BH_(4))_(2).The onset hydrogen desorption temperature of the composites is about88.6C,which is about 110C lower than that of Mg(BH_(4))_(2)and Na BH_(4)composites.Mg(BH_(4))_(2)–Na BH_(4)-0.5NdF3composites can released 5.2 wt%H_(2)at 250C within 30 min,and the dehydrogenation capacity is significantly higher than that of Mg(BH_(4))_(2)–Na BH_(4)composites.The analysis of the dehydrogenation mechanism reveals that NdF3takes participate in the reaction to generate Na MgF3 to promote the dehydrogenation reaction process of the composites. | Jianguang Yuan Jinting Chen Haixiang Huang Yujie Lv Bogu Liu Zhongyu Li Bao Zhang Wei Lv Ying Wu | 2021 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2021,31,4: | 1 |

| 16 | Genome sequence of Gossypium anomalum facilitates interspecific introgression breeding显示文摘Crop wild relatives are an important reservoir of natural biodiversity. However, incorporating wild geneticdiversity into breeding programs is often hampered by reproductive barriers and a lack of accurate genomicinformation. We assembled a high-quality, accurately centromere-anchored genome of Gossypium anomalum, a stress-tolerant wild cotton species. We provided a strategy to discover and transfer agronomicallyvaluable genes from wild diploid species to tetraploid cotton cultivars. With a (Gossypium hirsutum 3 G.anomalum)2 hexaploid as a bridge parent, we developed a set of 74 diploid chromosome segment substitution lines (CSSLs) of the wild cotton species G. anomalum in the G. hirsutum background. This set of CSSLsincluded 70 homozygous substitutions and four heterozygous substitutions, and it collectively containedabout 72.22% of the G. anomalum genome. Twenty-four quantitative trait loci associated with plant height,yield, and fiber qualities were detected on 15 substitution segments. Integrating the reference genome withagronomic trait evaluation of the CSSLs enabled location and cloning of two G. anomalum genes thatencode peroxiredoxin and putative callose synthase 8, respectively, conferring drought tolerance andimproving fiber strength. | 19 | Response of Yesso scallop Patinopecten yessoensis to acute temperature challenge: physiological and biochemical parameters显示文摘Water temperature is generally considered to be a major factor af fecting the physiological and biochemical activities of marine bivalves. Here, the physiological and biochemical responses of Yesso scallop, Patinopecten yessoensis, to acute water temperature changes in summer were studied. Scallops were transferred directly to a lower temperature( T dec treatment)(from 23°C to 15°C) or to a higher temperature( Ti nc treatment)(from 15°C to 23°C) for 72 h, respectively. Results showed that the oxygen consumption and ammonia-N excretion rates of P. yessoensis decreased signi?cantly in the T dec treatment but increased dramatically at 6 h in the Ti nc treatment( P <0.05). In the T dec treatment, hepatopancreas antioxidant enzyme activities, superoxide dismutase(SOD) and catalase(CAT) activities, increased substantially within 72 h( P <0.05). However, a signi?cant decrease in CAT activity was found at 12 h in the Ti nc treatment( P <0.01).A signi?cant enhancement of acid phosphatase(ACP) activity and malondialdehyde(MDA) content was detected when scallops were acutely exposed to a temperature of 15°C. The levels of Cu/Zn-SOD gene expression in their gills up-regulated signi?cantly in response to acute temperature changes( P <0.01). | 20 | Surface oxygen-deficient Ti2SC for enhanced lithium-ion uptake显示文摘Recently, MAX phases show great potential in lithium-ion uptake due to their excellent electrical conductivity and unique lamellar-structure accommodating lithium ions. However, the reports about MAX electrodes for lithium-ion battery up to now are relatively low. Herein we report the preparation of surface oxygen-deficient Ti2SC with abundant oxygen vacancies by a facile surface engineering method. When using as a lithium storage anode, this oxygen-deficient Ti2SC delivers a high capacity of 350 m Ah/g at a current density of 400 m A/g as well as excellent rate performance, doubling the capacity compared to that of Ti2SC without oxygen vacancies. Confirmed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and kinetic mechanism analyses, after reducing surface oxides and generation of oxygen vacancies, the as-received Ti2SC exhibits higher electrical conductivity and faster lithium ion diffusion.
