Using t-test and Logistic regression analysis, we investigated the following aspects: ownership by top managers and the CEO, the number of directors, the percentage of inside directors, CEO duality, and ownership concentration. The empirical tests indicate a lower probability of financial distress when ownership by top managers and that by the CEO are higher. | 4 | Boundary-layer transition prediction using a simplified correlation-based model显示文摘This paper describes a simplified transition model based on the recently developed correlation-based c Rehttransition model. The transport equation of transition momentum thickness Reynolds number is eliminated for simplicity, and new transition length function and critical Reynolds number correlation are proposed. The new model is implemented into an in-house computational fluid dynamics(CFD) code and validated for low and high-speed flow cases, including the zero pressure flat plate, airfoils, hypersonic flat plate and double wedge. Comparisons between the simulation results and experimental data show that the boundary-layer transition phenomena can be reasonably illustrated by the new model, which gives rise to significant improvements over the fully laminar and fully turbulent results. Moreover, the new model has comparable features of accuracy and applicability when compared with the original c Rehtmodel. In the meantime, the newly proposed model takes only one transport equation of intermittency factor and requires fewer correlations, which simplifies the original model greatly. | 5 | Effects of raster resolution on landslide susceptibility mapping:A case study of Shenzhen显示文摘Resolution has been playing a significant role in landslide susceptibility mapping and hazard assessment.Based on geographical information system(GIS) and information model,the effects of raster resolution on landslide susceptibility mapping are studied in a central area of Shenzhen,China.Eight factors are selected to calculate landslide susceptibility with eleven groups of different resolutions(5 to 190 m).It has been found that a finer resolution does not necessarily lead to a higher accuracy of landslide susceptibility mappings,while the result of 90 m-resolution has the best accuracy and the 150 m-resolution has the worst one.The accuracy curve is in a shape of 'W' along with resolution decreasing:1) The accuracy decreases from 5 to 70 m;2) and then the best accuracy appears at 90 m,which is almost the same as the mean size of landslides in study area;3) the accuracy decreases again from 110 to 150 m;4) and finally the accuracy increases from 150 to 190 m.The sensitivity analysis indicates that the effects of raster resolution are mainly caused by the resolution impact on landform parameter derivation,while factors like geology and human activity are very insensitive to resolutions.A further study shows that in flat,ridge,and slope foot terrains,the susceptibility mapping result is sensitive to resolution,but in the sloping surface area the sensitivity is much less sensitive to resolution.At last,by choosing study areas with different sizes,it has also been found that the optimal resolutions are variable due to size of study area.But the study area is larger than a threshold,which is 135 km2 in this study,and the optimal resolution is almost fixed. | TIAN Yuan,XIAO ChenChao,LIU Yu & WU Lun Institute of RS and GIS,Peking University,Beijing 100871,China | 2008 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,S2: | 8 |
| 6 | A new method of pseudo absence data generation in landslide susceptibility mapping with a case study of Shenzhen显示文摘Landslide susceptibility mapping is a typical two-class classification problem where generating pseudo absence (non-slide) data plays an important role.In this paper,a new method,target space exteriorization sampling method (TSES),is presented to generate pseudo absence data based on presence data directly in feature space.TSES exteriorizes a presence sample to become a pseudo absence one by replacing the value of one of its features with a new one outside the value range of this feature of all presence data.This method is compared with two existing methods,buffer controlled sampling (BCS) and iteratively refined sampling (IRS),in a study area of Shenzhen city.The pseudo absence data generated by each of these three methods are organized into 20 subsets with increasing data sizes to study the effects of the proportion of pseudo absence data to presence data.The landslide susceptibility maps of the study area are calculated with all these datasets by general additive model (GAM).It can be concluded that,through a 10-fold validation,TSES and IRS-based models have similar AUC values that are both greater than that of BCS,but TSES outperforms BCS and IRS in prediction efficiency.TSES results also have more reasonable spatial and histogram distributions than BCS and IRS,which can support categorization of an area into more susceptibility ranks,while IRS shows a tendency to separate the whole study area into two susceptibility extremes.It can be also concluded that when using BCS,the pseudo absence data proportion to the presence data would be about 50% to get a considerable result,while for IRS or TSES the minimum proportion is 40%. | XIAO ChenChao TIAN Yuan SHI WenZhong GUO QingHua WU Lun | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,S1: | 7 |
| 7 | Terrain revised model for air temperature in mountainous area based on DEMs: A case study in Yaoxian county显示文摘In mountainous area, spatial interpolation is the traditional method to calculate air temperature by use of observed temperature data. Due to lack of sufficient observation data in mountainous areas many precise interpolation methods could give only coarse result which could not meet the demand of precision agriculture and local climate exploration. Based on DEMs of 25 m resolution, a reversed model is constructed, with which temperature is simulated to the corresponding slope unit from the solar radiation. Taking Yaoxian county as a test area, and mean monthly temperature data as basic information sources, which are collected from 15 weather stations around Yaoxian county in Shaanxi province from the year of 1970 to 2000, a simulation for the solar radiation cell by cell is completed. By simulating solar radiation at each slope and flat cell unit, the terrain revised temperature model could be realized. A comparison between the simulated temperature and the radiation temperature from TM6 thermal infrared image shows that the terrain improved model gets a finer temperature distribution at local level. | 8 | Development Study on Some Digestive Enzymes of Takifugu rubripes Larvae and Juvenile显示文摘The activities of some digestive enzymes are studied for Takifugu rubripes larvae and juvenile from the first feeding to 27 d after hatching at selected stages of development. The homogenate of whole larvae body is used for enzymatic determination. Activity of acid protease decreases notably during the beginning days after the commencement of completely exogenous feeding and the days before the beginning of the juvenile stage. Alkaline protease specific activity also decreases at metamorphosis. The activities are associated with the morphology of the developing digestive tract. Amylase activity increases before the first feeding, followed by a decreasing and then a rather constant level. Lipase activity remains low during the larvae and juvenile periods. Alkaline phosphatase activity increases gradually. Under boundary lubrication condition, major wear mechanisms of aluminum bronze are adhesive wear and attrition wear. | 13 | Somatostatin 4 regulates growth and modulates gametogenesis in zebrafish显示文摘Somatostatin(SST)plays important roles in growth and development.In teleost fishes six SST encoding genes(sst1 to sst6)have been identified although few studies have addressed their function.Here we aim to determine the function of the teleost specific sst4 in the zebrafish.A CRISPR/Cas9 sst4 zebrafish mutant with loss of function(sst4−/−)was produced which grew significantly faster and was heavier at the onset of gonadal maturation than the wild type(WT).Consistent with their faster growth,liver igf1,igf2a and igf2b expression was significantly upregulated in the sst4−/−fish compared to the WT.Histological examination of the ovaries and testis indicated that sst4−/−fish had slightly delayed testicular gametogenesis compared to the WT.Significantly lower expression of igf3,amh,insl3,hsd17b3,hsd11b2,hsd20b,cyp11b and cyp17 was consistently observed in the sst4−/−testis.In contrast,the ovaries had lower expression of igf1,igf2a and cyp19a1a but increased expression of igf2b and hsd20b.The gonadotrophin beta subunits(fshb and lhb)in the brain were downregulated indicating the brain-pituitary-gonadal axis was downregulated in the sst4−/−fish and suggesting that the steroid production is compromised in the maturing gonads.In addition,analysis of sst1 and sst3 mRNA levels in sst4−/−fish suggests a dosage compensation effect of sst1 in the brain and liver.Altogether,the results from the zebrafish sst4−/−line support the idea that sst4 is involved in the regulation of igf signalling,somatic growth and reproduction since steroidogenesis and gametogenesis at pubertal onset were compromised. | Chenchao Sui Jie Chen Jing Ma Wenting Zhao Adelino V.M.Canário Rute S.T.Martins | 2019 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2019,4,6: | 1 |

| 20 | Nonlinear Inversion of Potential-Field Data Using an Improved Genetic Algorithm显示文摘The genetic algorithm is useful for solving an inversion of complex nonlinear geophysical equations. The multi-point search of the genetic algorithm makes it easier to find a globally optimal solution and avoid falling into a local extremum. The search efficiency of the genetic algorithm is a key to producing successful solutions in a huge multi-parameter model space. The encoding mechanism of the genetic algorithm affects the searching processes in the evolution. Not all genetic operations perform perfectly in a search under either a binary or decimal encoding system. As such, a standard genetic algorithm (SGA) is sometimes unable to resolve an optimization problem such as a simple geophysical inversion. With the binary encoding system the operation of the crossover may produce more new individuals. The decimal encoding system, on the other hand, makes the mutation generate more new genes. This paper discusses approaches of exploiting the search potentials of genetic operations with different encoding systems and presents a hybrid-encoding mechanism for the genetic algorithm. This is referred to as the hybrid-encoding genetic algorithm (HEGA). The method is based on the routine in which the mutation operation is executed in decimal code and other operations in binary code. HEGA guarantees the birth of better genes by mutation processing with a high probability, so that it is beneficial for resolving the inversions of complicated problems.
