1Design, Preparation and Properties of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Ultra-High Temperature Ceramic Composites for Aerospace Applications: A Review显示文摘Carbon fiber reinforced ultra-high temperature ceramic(UHTC) composites, consisting of carbon fibers embedded in a UHTC-matrix or a C–SiC–UHTC-matrix, are deemed as the most viable class of materials that can overcome the poor fracture toughness and thermal shock resistance of monolithic UHTC materials, and also improve the oxidation resistance and ablation resistance of C/C and C/SiC composites at ultra-high temperatures. In this review, we summarize the different processing routes of the composites based on the UHTC introducing methods, including chemical vapor infiltration/deposition(CVI/D),precursor infiltration and pyrolysis(PIP), reactive melt infiltration(RMI), slurry infiltration(SI), in-situ reaction, hot pressing(HP), etc; and the advantages and drawbacks of each method are briefly discussed. The carbon fiber reinforced UHTC composites can be highly tailorable materials in terms of fiber,interface, and matrix. From the perspective of service environmental applications for engine propulsions and hypersonic vehicles, the material designs(mainly focusing on the composition, quantity, structure of matrix, as well as the architecture of carbon fibers, UHTCs and pores), their relevant processing routes and properties(emphasizing on the mechanical and ablation properties) are discussed in this paper. 4Ultrafast and broadband photodetectors based on a perovskite/organic bulk heterojunction for large-dynamic-range imaging显示文摘Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite(OIHP)photodetectors that simultaneously achieve an ultrafast response and high sensitivity in the near-infrared(NIR)region are prerequisites for expanding current monitoring,imaging,and optical communication capbilities.Herein,we demonstrate photodetectors constructed by OIHP and an organic bulk heterojunction(BHJ)consisting of a low-bandgap nonfullerene and polymer,which achieve broadband response spectra up to 1μm with a highest external quantum efficiency of approximately 54%at 850 nm,an ultrafast response speed of 5.6 ns and a linear dynamic range(LDR)of 191 dB.High sensitivity,ultrafast speed and a large LDR are preeminent prerequisites for the practical application of photodetectors.Encouragingly,due to the high-dynamicrange imaging capacity,high-quality visible-NIR actual imaging is achieved by employing the OIHP photodetectors.We believe that state-of-the-art OIHP photodetectors can accelerate the translation of solution-processed photodetector applications from the laboratory to the imaging market.Chenglong Li Hailu Wang Fang Wang Tengfei Li Mengjian Xu Hao Wang Zhen Wang Xiaowei Zhan Weida Hu Liang Shen 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:13
5Genesis of the Hongzhen metamorphic core complex and its tectonic implications显示文摘The Hongzhen metamorphic core complex is situated in the Yangtze plate to the east of the Dabie oro- genic belt. Its ductile detachment zone in the foot wall overprints on the metamorphic complex of the Proterozoic Dongling Group. The present profile of the ductile shear zone with consistent SW-dipping mineral elongation lineation shows antiform and reversed S-shape from northeast to southwest respectively. Exposure structures, microstructures and quartz C-axis fabric all indicate top-to-SW movement for the ductile shear zone. Recrystallisation types of quartz and feldspar in the mylonites demonstrate that the shear zone was developed under the amphibolite facies condition and at mid-crust levels. The metamorphic core complex formed in the Early Cretaceous with a muscovite plateau age of 124.8±1.2 Ma. Regional NE-SW extension along a SW-dipping, gentle detachment zone was responsible for formation of the core complex. Intrusion of the Hongzhen granite with a biotite plateau age of 124.8±1.2 Ma rendered the ductile shear zone curved, uplifted and final localization of the core complex. 6Ni-based cathode materials for Na-ion batteries显示文摘Na-ion batteries(NIBs)have attracted significant attention owing to Na being an abundant resource that is uniformly distributed in the Earth's crust.Several 3d transition metal(TM)ions have been thoroughly investigated as charge compensators in single or multiple composition systems to enhance the electrochemical performance of cathodes for the practical applications.In this review,the composition-structure-property relationship of Ni-based cathodes has been reviewed as a design perspective for NIB'S cathodes.The typical Ni-based cathode materials have bee n systematically summarized and comparatively analyzed,and it is dem on strated that Ni io ns can be used to provide charge compensation.Moreover,Ni-based cathodes present high reversible capacity owing to the multi-electron redox reactions and suitable redox pote ntial of Ni-ions redox.However,con sidering the abundan ce,cost,and hygroscopic properties of Ni eleme nt,the content of 0.15-0.35 per formula can be optimal for enhancing the performance of cathodes.Lastly,further perspectives on designing Ni?containing cathodes,including Ni-rich layered cathodes,have been discussed,which could promote the practical applications of NIBs for grid-scale energy storage in future.Chenglong Zhao Yaxiang Lu Liquan Chen Yong-Sheng Hu 2019Nano Research2019,12,9:8
7High-temperature treatment induced carbon anode with ultrahigh Na storage capacity at low-voltage plateau显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(NIBs) show great prospect on the energy storage applications benefiting from their low cost and the abundant Na resources despite the expected lower energy density compared with lithium-ion batteries(LIBs). To further enhance the competitive advantage, especially in energy density,developing the high-capacity carbon anode materials can be one of the effective approaches to realize this goal. Herein, we report a novel carbon anode made from charcoal with a high capacity of ~400 m Ah g^(-1), wherein about 85%(>330 mAh g^(-1)) of its total capacity is derived from the long plateau region below ~0.1 V, which differs from those of typical hard carbon materials(~300 m Ah g^(-1)) in NIBs but is similar to the graphite anode in LIBs. When coupled with air-stable Na_(0.9)Cu_(0.22)e_(0.30)Mn_(0.48)O_2 oxide cathode, a high-energy density of ~240 Wh kg^(-1) is achieved with good rate capability and cycling stability. 8Rapid drift of the Tethyan Himalaya terrane before two-stage India-Asia collision显示文摘The India-Asia collision is an outstanding smoking gun in the study of continental collision dynamics.How and when the continental collision occurred remains a long-standing controversy.Here we present two new paleomagnetic data sets from rocks deposited on the distal part of the Indian passive margin,which indicate that the Tethyan Himalaya terrane was situated at a paleolatitude of∼19.4°S at∼75 Ma and moved rapidly northward to reach a paleolatitude of∼13.7°N at∼61 Ma.This implies that the Tethyan Himalaya terrane rifted from India after∼75 Ma,generating the North India Sea.We document a new two-stage continental collision,first at∼61 Ma between the Lhasa and Tethyan Himalaya terranes,and subsequently at∼53−48 Ma between the Tethyan Himalaya terrane and India,diachronously closing the North India Sea from west to east.Our scenario matches the history of India-Asia convergence rates and reconciles multiple lines of geologic evidence for the collision.Jie Yuan Zhenyu Yang Chenglong Deng Wout Krijgsman Xiumian Hu Shihu Li Zhongshan Shen Huafeng Qin Wei An Huaiyu He Lin Ding Zhengtang Guo Rixiang Zhu 2021National Science Review2021,8,7:7
9Human ACE2-Functionalized Gold“Virus-Trap”Nanostructures for Accurate Capture of SARS-CoV-2 and Single-Virus SERS Detection显示文摘The current COVID-19 pandemic urges the extremely sensitive and prompt detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus.Here,we present a Human Angiotensin-converting-enzyme 2(ACE2)-functionalized gold“virus traps”nanostructure as an extremely sensitive SERS biosensor,to selectively capture and rapidly detect S-protein expressed coronavirus,such as the current SARS-CoV-2 in the contaminated water,down to the single-virus level.Such a SERS sensor features extraordinary 106-fold virus enrichment originating from high-affinity of ACE2 with S protein as well as“virus-traps”composed of oblique gold nanoneedles,and 109-fold enhancement of Raman signals originating from multi-component SERS effects.Furthermore,the identification standard of virus signals is established by machine-learning and identification techniques,resulting in an especially low detection limit of 80 copies mL^(−1) for the simulated contaminated water by SARS-CoV-2 virus with complex circumstance as short as 5 min,which is of great significance for achieving real-time monitoring and early warning of coronavirus.Moreover,here-developed method can be used to establish the identification standard for future unknown coronavirus,and immediately enable extremely sensitive and rapid detection of novel virus.Yong Yang Yusi Peng Chenglong Lin Li Long Jingying Hu Jun He Hui Zeng Zhengren Huang Zhi-Yuan Li Masaki Tanemura Jianlin Shi John R.Lombardi Xiaoying Luo 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,7:6
10Full-space Cloud of Random Points with a Scrambling Metasurface显示文摘With the rapid progress in computer science,including artificial intelligence,big data and cloud computing,full-space spot generation can be pivotal to many practical applications,such as facial recognition,motion detection,augmented reality,etc.These opportunities may be achieved by using diffractive optical elements(DOEs)or light detection and ranging(LIDAR).However,DOEs suffer from intrinsic limitations,such as demanding depth-controlled fabrication techniques,large thicknesses(more than the wavelength),Lambertian operation only in half space,etc.LIDAR nevertheless relies on complex and bulky scanning systems,which hinders the miniaturization of the spot generator.Here,inspired by a Lambertian scatterer,we report a Hermitian-conjugate metasurface scrambling the incident light to a cloud of random points in full space with compressed information density,functioning in both transmission and reflection spaces.Over 4044 random spots are experimentally observed in the entire space,covering angles at nearly 90°.Our scrambling metasurface is made of amorphous silicon with a uniform subwavelength height,a nearly continuous phase coverage,a lightweight,flexible design,and low-heat dissipation.Thus,it may be mass produced by and integrated into existing semiconductor foundry designs.Our work opens important directions for emerging 3D recognition sensors,such as motion sensing,facial recognition,and other applications.Zile Li Qi Dai Muhammad Q.Mehmood Guangwei Hu Boris Luk’yanchuk Jin Tao Chenglong Hao Inki Kim Heonyeong Jeong Guoxing Zheng Shaohua Yu Andrea Alù Junsuk Rho Cheng-Wei Qiu 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:6

12Nondestructive 3D Image Analysis Pipeline to Extract Rice Grain Traits Using X-Ray Computed Tomography显示文摘The traits of rice panicles play important roles in yield assessment,variety classification,rice breeding,and cultivation management.Most traditional grain phenotyping methods require threshing and thus are time-consuming and labor-intensive;moreover,these methods cannot obtain 3D grain traits.In this work,based on X-ray computed tomography,we proposed an image analysis method to extract twenty-two 3D grain traits.After 104 samples were tested,the R^(2) values between the extracted and manual measurements of the grain number and grain length were 0.980 and 0.960,respectively.We also found a high correlation between the total grain volume and weight.In addition,the extracted 3D grain traits were used to classify the rice varieties,and the support vector machine classifier had a higher recognition accuracy than the stepwise discriminant analysis and random forest classifiers.In conclusion,we developed a 3D image analysis pipeline to extract rice grain traits using X-ray computed tomography that can provide more 3D grain information and could benefit future research on rice functional genomics and rice breeding.Weijuan Hu Can Zhang Yuqiang Jiang Chenglong Huang Qian Liu Lizhong Xiong Wanneng Yang Fan Chen 2020Plant Phenomics2020,2,1:6
13K-Ar dating of extensional fault gouge from the Yi-Shu segment of the Tan-Lu fault zone显示文摘Two grabens were developed in the Yi-Shu segment of the Tan-Lu fault zone (TLFZ) during its exten-sional activities, and are now confined by four major NNE-trending normal faults and filled with Creta-ceous sediments. These faults were developed due to their reactivities, containing gouge and cutting the graben sediments. Detailed fieldwork demonstrates that the faults experienced sinistral transten-sional moment related to regional NE-SW extension during the reactivity. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the finest gouge samples gives illite crystallinity values higher than 0.42o?2θ, indicating temperatures experienced by the gouge samples were less than 150℃ . From the relation between K-Ar data and proportions of detrital illite in different size fractions of the gouge samples, we conclude that refaulting for the western boundary fault of the TLFZ, abbreviated to F4, took place at ca. 90 Ma and for the eastern boundary fault, abbreviated to F1, happened from 70 to 60 Ma. During the two phases of reactivity imposed by the same NE-SW extension, the TLFZ experienced uplifting and no sediments were deposited in the two grabens. 14Advanced Na metal anodes显示文摘Na metal anode, benefiting from its high theoretical capacity and lowest electrochemical potential, is one of the most favorable candidates for future Na-based batteries with high energy density. Dendrite growth, volume change and high reactivity are the formidable challenges in terms of good cycling performance and high Coulombic efficiency as well as an expected safety guarantee of Na metal anode for the practical application. Solid electrolyte interphase(SEI) layer as an indispensable component of a battery,its formation and stability play the critical role in the feasibility of Na metal anode. In this review, we first discuss the current consideration and challenges of Na metal anode, and then summarize several strategies to suppress dendrite growth and improve electrochemical performance, including interface engineering, electrolyte composition, electrode construction, and so on. 15Synthesis of monolithic carbon aerogels with high mechanical strength via ambient pressure drying without solvent exchange显示文摘A simple,fast and cost-effective method for monolithic carbon aerogels(CAs) preparation was proposed through sol-gel polycondensation of resorcinol with fo rmaldehyde in a basic aqueous solution followed by ambient pressure drying without solvent exchange,and carbonization.The microstructure and network strength of CAs were tailored by adju sting the catalyst concentration([resorcinol]/[sodium carbonate] in the range of 300-2000),water content([deionized water]/[resorcinol] equals to 17 and 24,respectively),and gelation temperature(Tgel in the range of 30-90℃).Resultantly,the CAs with a wide range of density(0.30-1.13 g/cm3),high specific surface area(465-616 m2/g),high compressive strength(6.5-147.4 MPa)and low thermal conductivity(0.065-0.120 W·m-1 K-1) were obtained in this work.Moreover,the largesized CAs(100×100×20 mm3) can also be prepared by this method since the formed robust skeleton network can resist shrinkage/collapse of pore structure and prevent cracking during drying.The improved mechanical strength and monolithic forming abilities could be mainly attributed to the uniform arrangement of carbon particles and pores,fine particle size,abundant network structure and enhanced particle neck.Zhi Yang Jian Li Xiaojing Xu Shengyang Pang Chenglong Hu Penglei Guo Sufang Tang Hui-Ming Cheng 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,47,15:4
16Highly active N-doped carbon encapsulated Pd-Fe intermetallic nanoparticles for the oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Developing highly efficient non-R catalysts for fuel cells and metal-air batteries is highly desirable but still challenging due to the sluggish oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Herein,a facile and efficient strategy is demonstrated to prepare N-doped carbon encapsulated ordered Pd-Fe intermetallic(O-Pd-Fe@NC/C)nanoparticles via a one-step thermal annealing method.The obtained O-Pd-Fe@NC/C nanoparticles show enhanced ORR activity,durability and anti-poisoning capacity in both acid and alkaline medium.When O-Pd-Fe@NC/C serving as cathode catalyst for Zn-air battery,it exhibits higher voltage platform and superior cycling performance with respect to the Zn-air battery based on the mixture of Pt/C and Ir/C catalysts.The enhanced electrocatalytic performance can be ascribed to the formation of face-centered tetragonal(fct)Pd-Fe nanoparticles,the protective action of the N-doped carbon layer and the interface confinement effect between them.The in situ formed N-doped carbon shell not only restrains the Pd-Fe ordered intermetallics from aggregating effectively during the thermal annealing process,but also provides a strong anchoring effect to avoid the detachment of Pd-Fe nanoparticles from the carbon support during the potential cycling.This facile carbon encapsulation strategy may also be extended to the preparation of a wide variety of N-doped carbon encapsulated intermetallic compounds for fuel cell application.Yezhou Hu Yun Lu Xueru Zhao Tao Shen Tonghui Zhao Mingxing Gong Ke Chen Chenglong Lai Jian Zhang Huolin L.Xin Deli Wang 2020Nano Research2020,13,9:3

18An insight into failure mechanism of NASICON-structured Na3V2(PO4)3 in hybrid aqueous rechargeable battery显示文摘NASICON (Na-super-ionic-conductors)-structured materials have attracted extensive research interest due to their great application potential in secondary batteries. However, the mechanism of capacity fading for NASICON-structured electrode materials has been rarely studied. In this paper, we synthesized the NASICON-structured Na3V2(PO4)3/C composite by simple sol-gel and high-temperature solid-phase method and investigated its electrochemical performance in Na-Zn hybrid aqueous rechargeable batteries. After characterizing the structure, morphology and composition variations as well as the interfacial resistance changes of Na3V2(PO4)3/C cathode during cycling, we propose a mechanical and interfacial degradation mechanism for capacity fading of NASICON-structured Na3V2(PO4)3/C in Na-Zn hybrid aqueous rechargeable batteries. 20The long-term denudation rate of granitic regolith in Qinhuangdao, North China determined from the in situ depth profile of the cosmogenic nuclides ^(26)Al and ^(10)Be显示文摘This study quantifies the surface denudation rate of granitic regolith via the application of the in situ cosmogenic26 Al and10Be depth profile in China. The concentration ranges of26 Al and10Be in the quartz along the*3-m granitic regolith profile in Qinhuangdao are(4.9–23.1) 9 105and(2.3–36.6) 9 104atoms/g, respectively. With the exception of the surface sample, both26 Al and10Be concentrations decrease exponentially with sample depth. The Chi-square best-fitting results revealed a total denudation rate of *9 m/Ma averaged over a 103–105a timescale, which is lower than the values observed in global granitic outcrops.
