1Identification and Typing of Respiratory Adenoviruses in Guangzhou, Southern China Using a Rapid and Simple Method显示文摘Human adenoviruses (HAdVs), especially HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7, are associated with Acute Respiratory Disease in Chinese children, and occasionally in adults. In order to establish and document the profiles of the respiratory adenovirus pathogen among children in Guangzhou, Southern China, a rapid, simple and practical method for identification and typing of respiratory adenoviruses was developed and evaluated. One pair of universal PCR primers was designed according to the conserved region of the hexon gene, which can detect not only HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7, but also HAdV-B14, -F40 and -F41, with a specific 300bp PCR product. Three pairs of type-specific PCR primers were also designed according to the hypervariable regions of the hexon gene to type HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7 by three independent PCR reactions, making it easy to optimize the PCR conditions. By using this method, one hundred throat swab specimens collected during Oct 2010 to Dec 2011 and suspected of being positive for adenoviral infection were identified and typed for adenoviruses. Of these samples, fifty-five were adenovirus-positive. The most common HAdV type was HAdV-B3, identified in 92.7% of samples, which is not only consistent with the data reported in 2004-2006, but also consistent with the recent report in Hangzhou, eastern China, indicating that HAdV-B3 has been circulating in Guangzhou, and maybe in eastern China, for many years. 2Desmoglein 2(DSG2) Is A Receptor of Human Adenovirus Type 55 Causing Adult Severe Community-Acquired Pneumonia显示文摘Human adenovirus type 55(HAdV-B55) is a re-emergent acute respiratory disease pathogen that causes adult communityacquired pneumonia(CAP). Previous studies have shown that the receptor of HAdV-B14, which genome is highly similar with HAdV-B55, is human Desmoglein 2(DSG2). However, whether the receptor of HAdV-B55 is DSG2 is undetermined because there are three amino acid mutations in the fiber gene between HAdV-B14 and HAdV-B55. Here, firstly we found the 3T3 cells, a mouse embryo fibroblast rodent cell line which does not express human DSG2, were able to be infected by HAdV-B55 after transfected with pcDNA3.1-DSG2, while normal 3T3 cells were still unsusceptible to HAdV-B55 infection. Next, A549 cells with h DSG2 knock-down by siRNA were hard to be infected by HAdV-B3/-B14/-B55, while the control siRNA group was still able to be infected by all these types of HAdVs. Finally, immunofluorescence confocal microscopy indicated visually that Cy3-conjugated HAdV-B55 viruses entered A549 cells by binding to DSG2 protein.Therefore, DSG2 is a major receptor of HAdV-B55 causing adult CAP. 4Mechanisms discussion of frost heave and test verifications of moisture migration显示文摘Herein we review research on the structure of the frozen fringe and one of its key characteristics(unfrozen water content),and compare its current measurement methods,including pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),time-domain reflectometry(TDR),calorimetry,thermometry,the sublimation method,and CT imagery.A freeze-thaw cycle experiment with remolded soil was conducted inside to verify the mechanism of frost heave,measuring such variables as soil-water potential,temperature,water supplement,and the position of the freezing front.Conclusions from the analysis of the experiment data are:(1) The soil-water potential,the water supplement,and the position of the freezing front vary with temperature; and(2) the temperature gradient induces the soil-water potential,which in turn provides a stable driving force for moisture migration.Chang Yuan ChengSong Yang LianHai Zhang 2014Research in Cold and Arid Regions2014,6,5:3

7Heritability estimations of ammonia tolerance and survival of ridgetail white prawn Exopalaemon carinicauda显示文摘Ridgetail white prawn Exopalaemon carinicauda is an important economic marine species in China.To improve the germplasm quality of cultured E.carinicauda,for the fi rst time,we estimated the heritability of ammonia tolerance and survival of E.carinicauda,covering 263 full-sib families in multiple generations.Analysis models including binary linear animal model(BLA),binary linear sire-dam model(BLSD),probit threshold animal model(PTA),and probit threshold sire-dam model(PTSD)were used.The estimated heritability of tolerance to ammonia in diff erent models ranged from 0.09 to 0.22,and that of survival rate ranged from 0.06 to 0.16.Concerning the tolerance to ammonia,both the PTSD and BLSD models showed comparatively better prediction accuracies(0.48 and 0.47,respectively)than PTA and BLA models(0.40 and 0.26,respectively),while to the survival rate,all four models presented relatively low predictive abilities(0.16-0.26).This study provided important information for the future breeding program of E.carinicauda.Ding LÜ Chengsong ZHANG Yang YU Jianhai XIANG Fuhua LI 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,4:0
8Recent progress and future prospects for mechanized harvesting of fruit crops with shaking systems显示文摘Mechanized harvesting technologies with shaking systems for fruit industry have been widely investigated and significantly developed over the past several decades which were presented by a large amount of literature.This paper reviews the research and development progress of mechanized harvesting of fruits systematically with a focus on the theoretical study,fruit crop variety,shaking system categories,abscission chemical agents,and their actual applications.Based on the comprehensive review,mechanized harvesting systems for different fruit crops appear multifarious shaking modes with various vibratory mechanisms and structural dimensions.Major advantages in the development of fruit mechanical harvesting with effective vibratory patterns and catching frames provide a series of economic and agronomic benefits,such as reducing labor costs,promoting standardized planting,and increasing productivity.However,fruit injury and tree damage are the main reasons why mechanical shaking systems are rarely used for fresh fruit harvesting because of tenderness and frangibility of the fruit crops.Therefore,more efforts should be concentrated on the innovative shake-and-catch system with suitable frequency and amplitude to achieve low fruit damage or even nondestructive harvesting for fresh fruit market.This overview summarized the advantages and bottlenecks of these shaking systems for fruit harvesting and proposed the challenges and some constructive prospective viewpoints aimed at the major issues of mechanical harvesting techniques.In addition,employing sorting technologies to classify the postharvest fruits provide a new direction for the further development of mechanized harvesting in high-value fruit crops,as well as bring more benefits to growers and increase their interest in equipment investment on the mechanical shaking harvester for the fruit industry.Yingjun Pu Shuming Wang Fuzeng Yang Reza Ehsani Lijun Zhao Chengsong Li Shouyong Xie Mingjin Yang 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,1:0
9Synergetic variations of active layer soil water and salt in a permafrost-affected meadow in the headwater area of the Yellow River,northeastern Qinghai-Tibet plateau显示文摘The coupling effects and mechanisms of water,heat,and salt in frozen soils are considered to be one of the core scientific issues in frozen soil studies.This study was based on in situ observation data of active layer soil volumetric water content(VWC),temperature,and bulk electrical conductivity(EC)obtained at an alpine meadow site from October 2016 to November 2019.The site is located in the headwater area of the Yellow River(HAYR).We analyzed the synergetic variations of active layer soil VWC,temperature,and bulk EC during the freeze and thaw processes and discussed the underlying mechanisms.When the thaw process occurred from 10 to 80 cm depths,the VWC and bulk EC at a 10 cm depth showed syn-chronous high-frequency fluctuations and both increased linearly.The linear decreasing rate of the VWC(bulk EC)at an 80 cm depth in the freeze depths between 0 and 40 cm was 2(1.6e2.3)times that of the VWC(bulk EC)at an 80 cm depth in the freeze depths occurring 0e10 cm.As soil temperature decreased in the frozen layer,unfrozen water content(bulk EC)decreased nonlinearly along with the absolute value of soil temperature(|T|),following a power(logarithmic)function.This study provided data that partly elucidate the interactions among permafrost,meadow,and ecohydrological processes in the HAYR.Also,our results can be used as a scientific basis for decision making on the protection and restoration of alpine grasslands,as well as for soil salinization studies.Qingfeng Wang Huijun Jin Ziqiang Yuan Chengsong Yang 2022International Soil and Water Conservation Research2022,10,2:0
10Nonreciprocal ground-state cooling of mechanical resonator in a spinning optomechanical system显示文摘We theoretically present a scheme for nonreciprocal ground-state cooling in a double-cavity spinning optomechanical system which is consisted of an optomechanical resonator and a spinning optical harmonic resonator with directional driving.The optical Sagnac effect generated by the whispering-gallery cavity(WGC)rotation creates frequency difference between the WGC mode,we found that the mechanical resonator(MR)can be cooled to the ground state when the propagation direction of driving light is opposite to the spin direction of the WGC,but not from the other side,vice versa,so that the nonreciprocal cooling is achieved.By appropriately selecting the system parameters,the heating process can be completely suppressed due to the quantum interference effect.The proposed approach provides a platform for quantum manipulation of macroscopic mechanical devices beyond the resolved sideband limit.Junya Yang Chengsong Zhao Zhen Yang Rui Peng Shilei Chao Ling Zhou 2022Frontiers of physics2022,17,5:0
