| 1 | Relationship between Ambient Fine Particles and Ventricular Repolarization Changes and Heart Rate Variability of Elderly People with Heart Disease in Beijing, China显示文摘Objective To explore the effects of particulate matters less than 2.5 μm in aerodynamic diameter (PM 2.5) on heart repolarization/depolarization and heart rate variability (HRV). Methods We conducted a panel study for elderly subjects with heart disease in Beijing from 2007 to 2008. PM 2.5 was measured at a fixed station for 20 h continuously each day while electrocardiogram (ECG) indexes of 42 subjects were also recorded repeatedly. Meteorological data was obtained from the China Meteorological Data Sharing Service System. A mixed linear regression model was used to estimate the associations between PM 2.5 and the ECG indexes. The model was adjusted for age, body mass index, sex, day of the week andmeteorology. Results Significant adverse effects of PM 2.5 on ECG indexes reflecting HRV were observed statistically and the strongest effect of PM 2.5 on HRV was on lag 1 day in our study. However, there were no associations between PM 2.5 and ECG indexes reflecting heart repolarization/depolarization. Additionally, the effects of PM 2.5 on subjects with hypertension were larger than on the subjects without hypertension. | 5 | The Ap-2α/Elk-1 axis regulates Sirpα-dependent tumor phagocytosis by tumor-associated macrophages in colorectal cancer显示文摘The inhibitory receptor signal regulatory protein-α(Sirpα)is a myeloid-specific immune checkpoint that engages the“don’t eat me”signal CD47,which is expressed on tumor and normal tissue cells.However,the profile and regulatory mechanism of Sirpαexpression in tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)are still not clear.Here,we found that the expression of Sirpαin TAMs increased dynamically with colorectal cancer(CRC)progression.Mechanistically,CRC cell-derived lactate induced the nuclear translocation of the transcription factor Ap-2αfrom the cytoplasm in TAMs.Ap-2αfunctioned as a transcription factor for Elk-1 by binding to the conserved element GCCTGC located at−1396/−1391 in the mouse Elk-1 promoter.Subsequently,the Elk-1 protein bound to two conserved sites,CTTCCTACA(located at−229/−221)and CTTCCTCTC(located at−190/−182),in the mouse Sirpαpromoter and promoted Sirpαexpression in TAMs.Functionally,the macrophage-specific knockout of Ap-2αnotably promoted the phagocytic activity of TAMs and suppressed CRC progression,whereas these effects were prevented by the transgenic macrophage-specific expression of Elk-1,which regulated TAM phagocytosis and CRC development in a Sirpα-dependent manner.Furthermore,we showed that Elk-1 expression was positively correlated with Sirpαexpression in TAMs and was associated with poor survival in CRC patients.Taken together,our findings revealed a novel mechanism through which CRC evades innate immune surveillance and provided potential targets for macrophage-based immunotherapy for CRC patients. | Xiaojiao Wang Xi Luo Chuan Chen Ye Tang Lian Li Banghui Mo Houjie Liang Songtao Yu | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 2 |
| 6 | Coping with extremes:lowered myocardial phosphofructokinase activities and glucose content but increased fatty acids content in highland Eurasian Tree Sparrows显示文摘Background:Efficient and selective utilization of metabolic substrates is one of the key strategies in high-altitude animals to cope with hypoxia and hypothermia.Previous findings have shown that the energy substrate utilization of highland animals varies with evolutionary history and phylogeny.The heart is a proxy for the cardiopulmonary system,and the metabolic substrate utilization in the myocardium is also under the strong selective pressure of chronically hypoxic and hypothermic environments.However,little information is available on the physiological adjustments in relation to metabolic substrate utilization in the myocardium for coping with high-altitude environments.Methods:We compared the metabolic enzyme activities,including hexokinase(HK),phosphofructokinase(PFK),pyruvate kinase(PK),citrate synthase(CS),carnitine palmitoyl transferase 1(CPT-1),lactic dehydrogenase(LDH),and creatine kinase(CK),and metabolic substrate contents including glucose(Glu),triglyceride(TG),and free fatty acid(FFA)in the myocardium of a typical human commensal species,Eurasian Tree Sparrows(Passer montanus)between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(the QTP,3230 m)and low altitude population(Shijiazhuang,80 m),and between sexes.Results:Among the seven metabolic enzymes and three substrates investigated,we identified no significant differences in PK,CPT-1,HK,CS,LDH,and CK activities and TG content of the myocardium between high and low altitude populations.However,the QTP sparrows had significantly lower Glu content and PFK activities but higher FFA content relative to their lowland counterparts.In addition,male sparrows had higher myocardial HK and CS activities relative to females,independent of altitude.Conclusions:Our results showed that the QTP sparrows elevated fatty acid utilization rather than glucose preference in the myocardium relative to lowland counterpart,which contributes to uncovering both the physiological adjustments for adapting to the extreme conditions of the QTP,intraspecifically. | Boyang Ding Yuliang Zhao Yanfeng Sun Qian Zhang Mo Li Ghulam Nabi Yuefeng Wu Chuan Jiang Dongming Li | 2021 | Avian Research2021,12,4: | 1 |

| 9 | Differences of maternal mortality rate between Shanghai and New York city from the perspective of regulatory policy显示文摘Background:Regulatory policy(RP)is known as a major factor to improve health care system performance.A significant difference in maternal mortality rates(MMRs)was observed between New York city(NYC)and Shanghai(SH),both first-class international metropolises.This study aims to adopt a quantitative evaluation model to analyze whether RP differences contribute to the different MMRs of the two cities.Methods:Based on collection of all publicly released policy documents regarding maternal health in the two cities,we assessed and compared the status of their maternal health care RPs from 2006 to 2017 through a series of quantitative indicators as regulatory elements coverage rate(RECR),departmental responsibility clarity rate(DRCR),and accountability mechanism clarity rate(AMCR),based on two characteristics of comprehensiveness and effectiveness of RPs.Pearson correlation analysis,principal component analysis,and linear regression analysis were used to test the relationships between the indicators and MMR in SH and NYC.Results:By 2017,disparities of maternal health care RP are found between SH and NYC,from the indicators of RECR(100%vs.77.0%),DRCR(38.9%vs.45.1%),and AMCR(29.2%vs.22.5%).From 2006 to 2017,RECR,DRCR,and AMCR in SH have shown a higher growth of 8.7%,53.2%,and 45.2%,compared with growth of 25.0%,12.5%,and 2.9%in NYC.The three indicators were found all negatively correlated with MMR in SH(Coefficients=-0.831,-0.833,and-0.909,and P<0.01),while only RECR and DRCR had negative correlation with MMR in NYC(Coefficients=-0.736 and-0.683,and P<0.05).Linear regression showed that the principal components of the three indicators were found with significant impact on MMRs both in SH(R=0.914,R2=0.836,P<0.001)and NYC(R=0.854,R2=0.357,P=0.04).Conclusion:Compared with NYC,the more comprehensive and effective maternal health care RPs in SH had a stronger impact on MMR control,which contributed to the differences between the two cities’MMRs to some extent.The methods and indicators we adopted for assessment are reasonable and comparable. | Li Li Cheng-Yue Li Qing-Yu Zhou Chuan Pu Ling-Zhong Xu Tian-Qiang Xu Chao Hao Zhi Hu Mo Hao | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,7: | 1 |

| 11 | Over 50,000 Metagenomically Assembled Draft Genomes for the Human Oral Microbiome Reveal New Taxa显示文摘The oral cavity of each person is home to hundreds of bacterial species.While taxa for oral diseases have been studied using culture-based characterization as well as amplicon sequencing,metagenomic and genomic information remains scarce compared to the fecal microbiome.Here,using metagenomic shotgun data for 3346 oral metagenomic samples together with 808 published samples,we obtain 56,213 metagenome-assembled genomes(MAGs),and more than 64%of the 3589 species-level genome bins(SGBs)contain no publicly available genomes.The resulting genome collection is representative of samples around the world and contains many genomes from candidate phyla radiation(CPR)that lack monoculture.Also,it enables the discovery of new taxa such as a genus Candidatus Bgiplasma within the family Acholeplasmataceae.Large-scale metagenomic data from massive samples also allow the assembly of strains from important oral taxa such as Porphyromonas and Neisseria.The oral microbes encode genes that could potentially metabolize drugs.Apart from these findings,a strongly male-enriched Campylobacter species was identified.Oral samples would be more user-friendly collected than fecal samples and have the potential for disease diagnosis.Thus,these data lay down a genomic framework for future inquiries of the human oral microbiome. | Jie Zhu Liu Tian Peishan Chen Mo Han Liju Song Xin Tong Xiaohuan Sun Fangming Yang Zhipeng Lin Xing Liu Chuan Liu Xiaohan Wang Yuxiang Lin Kaiye Cai Yong Hou Xun Xu Huanming Yang Jian Wang Karsten Kristiansen Liang Xiao Tao Zhang Huijue Jia Zhuye Jie | 2022 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,2: | 1 |

| 13 | Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted Image Based on Block Classification Permutation显示文摘Recently,reversible data hiding in encrypted image(RDHEI)has attracted extensive attention,which can be used in secure cloud computing and privacy protection effectively.In this paper,a novel RDHEI scheme based on block classification and permutation is proposed.Content owner first divides original image into non-overlapping blocks and then set a threshold to classify these blocks into smooth and non-smooth blocks respectively.After block classification,content owner utilizes a specific encryption method,including stream cipher encryption and block permutation to protect image content securely.For the encrypted image,data hider embeds additional secret information in the most significant bits(MSB)of the encrypted pixels in smooth blocks and the final marked image can be obtained.At the receiver side,secret data will be extracted correctly with data-hiding key.When receiver only has encryption key,after stream cipher decryption,block scrambling decryption and MSB error prediction with threshold,decrypted image will be achieved.When data hiding key and encryption key are both obtained,receiver can find the smooth and non-smooth blocks correctly and MSB in smooth blocks will be predicted correctly,hence,receiver can recover marked image losslessly.Experimental results demonstrate that our scheme can achieve better rate-distortion performance than some of state-of-the-art schemes. | Qun Mo Heng Yao Fang Cao Zheng Chang Chuan Qin | 2019 | Computers, Materials & Continua2019,,4: | 1 |

| 15 | HIV-1 Transmission among Injecting Drug Users is Principally Derived from Local Circulating Strains in Guangxi, China显示文摘Objective The mode of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) transmission via injection drug use(IDU)still exists, and the recent shift in IDU-related transmission of HIV infection is largely unknown. The purpose of this study was to analyze the spatiotemporal sources and dynamics of HIV-1 transmission through IDU in Guangxi.Methods We performed a molecular epidemiological investigation of infections across Guangxi from2009 to 2019. Phylogenetic and Bayesian time-geographic analyses of HIV-1 sequences were performed to confirm the characteristics of transmission between IDUs in combination with epidemiological data.Results Among the 535 subjects, CRF08_BC(57.4%), CRF01_AE(28.4%), and CRF07_BC(10.7%) were the top 3 HIV strains;72.6% of infections were linked to other provinces in the transmission network;93.6% of sequence-transmitted strains were locally endemic, with the rest coming from other provinces,predominantly Guangdong and Yunnan;92.1% of the HIV transmission among people who inject drugs tended to be transmitted between HIV-positive IDUs.Conclusion HIV recombinants were high diversity, and circulating local strains were the transmission sources among IDUs in Guangxi.
