1Precise orbit determination of Beidou Satellites with precise positioning显示文摘Chinese Beidou satellite navigation system constellation currently consists of eight Beidou satellites and can provide preliminary service of navigation and positioning in the Asia-Pacific Region.Based on the self-developed software Position And Navigation Data Analysis(PANDA) and Beidou Experimental Tracking Stations (BETS),which are built by Wuhan University,the study of Beidou precise orbit determination,static precise point positioning (PPP),and high precision relative positioning,and differential positioning are carried out comprehensively.Results show that the radial precision of the Beidou satellite orbit determination is better than 10 centimeters.The RMS of static PPP can reach several centimeters to even millimeters for baseline relative positioning.The precision of kinematic pseudo-range differential positioning and RTK mode positioning are 2-4 m and 5-10 cm respectively,which are close to the level of GPS precise positioning.Research in this paper verifies that,with support of ground reference station network,Beidou satellite navigation system can provide precise positioning from several decimeters to meters in the wide area and several centimeters in the regional area.These promising results would be helpful for the implementation and applications of Beidou satellite navigation system.SHI Chuang ZHAO QiLe LI Min TANG WeiMing HU ZhiGang LOU YiDong ZHANG HongPing NIU XiaoJi LIU JingNan 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,7:61
2Upper ocean near-inertial response to 1998 Typhoon Faith in the South China Sea显示文摘During the South China Sea monsoon experiment (SCSMEX),three autonomous temperature line acquisition system (ATLAS) buoys with acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) were moored in the South China Sea to measure temperature,salinity and current velocity.Typhoon Faith passed through about 250 km south to one of the mooring buoys located at 12 58.5 N,114 24.5 E from December 11 to 14,1998.The data analysis indicates that the typhoon winds induce a great increase in the kinetic energy at near-inertial frequencies with two maxima in the mixed layer and thermocline.The near-inertial oscillations were observed at the upper 270 m in the wake of Typhoon Faith.The oscillations were originally excited in the sea surface layer and propagated downward.The amplitudes of the oscillations decrease with depth except in the thermocline.The near-inertial oscillation signals are also remarkable in temperature and salinity fields.SUN Lu ZHENG Quan'an TANG Tswen-Yung CHUANG Wen-Ssn LI Li HU Jianyu WANG Dongxiao 2012Acta Oceanologica Sinica2012,31,2:15
3Successful Production of an All-Female Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) Population Using cyp17a1-Deficient Neomale Carp显示文摘Due to sexual dimorphism in the growth of certain cultured fish species,the production of monosex fishes is desirable for the aquaculture industry.Nowadays,the most widely practiced technique available for the mass production of monosex fish populations is sex steroid-induced sex reversal.Here,a novel strategy for the successful production of all-female(AF)common carp(Cyprinus carpio L.),to take advantage of the sexual dimorphism in growth documented in this species,has been developed using genetic engineering via single gene-targeting manipulation without any exogenous hormone treatments.Male and female heterozygous cyp17a1-deficient common carp were first obtained using the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated endonuclease 9(CRISPR/Cas9)technique.An all-male phenotype for homozygous cyp17a1-deficient carp,regardless of the individuals’sexdetermination genotypes(XY or XX),has been observed.A male-specific DNA marker newly identified in our laboratory was used to screen the neomale carp population with the XX genotype from the cyp17a1-deficient carp.These neomale carp develop a normal testis structure with normal spermatogenesis and sperm capacity.The neomale common carp were then mated with wild-type(WT)females(cyp17a1^(+/+)XX genotype)using artificial fertilization.All the AF offspring sample fish from the neomale-WT female mating were confirmed as having the cyp17a^(1+/-)XX genotype,and normal development of gonads to ovaries was observed in 100.00%of this group at eight months post-fertilization(mpf).A total of 1000 carp fingerlings,500 from the WT male and female and 500 from the neomale and WT female mating,were mixed and reared in the same pond.The average body weight of cyp17a1^(+/-)XX females was higher by 6.60%(8 mpf)and 32.66%(12 mpf)than that of the control common carp.Our study demonstrates the first successful production of a monosex teleost population with the advantages of sexual dimorphism in growth using genetic manipulation targeting a single locus.Gang Zhai Tingting Shu Kuangxin Chen Qiyong Lou Jingyi Jia Jianfei Huang Chuang Shi Xia Jin Jiangyan He Donghuo Jiang Xueqiao Qian Wei Hu Zhan Yin 2022Engineering2022,8,1:7
4Interspecific Differences in Diet between Introduced Red-eared Sliders and Native Turtles in China显示文摘Although the alien Red-eared slider(Trachemys scripta elegans) is generally argued as an invasive species that competes with native turtles,the fi eld evidence on its diet is controversial.Field studies conducted at the Gutian Nature Reserve of Guangdong and along the Wanquan River in Hainan,China show that T.s.elegans is an opportunitic omnivore,consuming a wide variety of food items.Consumption varies throughout its range;more plant material is consumed in Guangdong,compared to a more carnivorous diet in Hainan;and juveniles are also found to have a more carnivorous diet than adults.This implies a high adaptability to new environment.Sympatric native Mauremys sinensis shows a more herbivorous diet and a narrower niche breadth(0.0260) in Hainan,plus a low niche overlap(0.3048) with T.s.elegans,providing a potential empty niche for the invasive T.s.elegans.Red-eared slider is also known to consume large quantities of native prey species to disrupt the ecological balance.It is imperative to understand the invasive nature of this species and the mechanisms by which it affects native ecology.Jian WANG Haitao SHI Shijia HU Kai MA Chuang LI 2013Asian Herpetological Research2013,4,3:7
5WUSCHEL-related homeobox1(WOX1)regulates vein patterning and leaf size in Cucumis sativus显示文摘In plants,WUSCHEL-related homeobox1(WOX1)homologs promote lamina mediolateral outgrowth.However,the downstream components linking WOX1 and lamina development remain unclear.In this study,we revealed the roles of WOX1 in palmate leaf expansion in cucumber(Cucumis sativus).A cucumber mango fruit(mf)mutant,resulting from truncation of a WOX1-type protein(CsWOX1),displayed abnormal lamina growth and defects in the development of secondary and smaller veins.CsWOX1 was expressed in the middle mesophyll and leaf margins and rescued defects of the Arabidopsis wox1 prs double mutant.Transcriptomic analysis revealed that genes involved in auxin polar transport and auxin response were highly associated with leaf development.Analysis of the cucumber mf rl(round leaf)double mutant revealed that CsWOX1 functioned in vein development via PINOID(CsPID1)-controlled auxin transport.Overexpression of CsWOX1 in cucumber(CsWOX1-OE)affected vein patterning and produced‘butterfly-shaped’leaves.CsWOX1 physically interacted with CsTCP4a,which may account for the abnormal lamina development in the mf mutant line and the smaller leaves in the CsWOX1-OE plants.Our findings demonstrated that CsWOX1 regulates cucumber leaf vein development by modulating auxin polar transport;moreover,CsWOX1 regulates leaf size by controlling CIN-TCP genes.Hu Wang Huanhuan Niu Chuang Li Guoyan Shen Xiaofeng Liu Yiqun Weng Tao Wu Zheng Li 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:6
6Gaze estimation in a gaze tracking system显示文摘This article presents a gaze estimation method (GEMHSSO) based on the pupil center cornea reflection (PCCR) technique.Existing PCCR systems suffer from several problems,including the restriction of users' head movement,and the requirement of individual calibration.This paper presents a head position compensation model using a single camera and a single light source,which realizes the analytic compensation of head motion effects on pupil-glint vectors.We then present a transformation model for individual differences to simplify the calibration process to a one-point calibration.On this basis,we establish a novel gaze estimation method that reduces the minimum hardware requirements for accurate estimation to a single camera (not calibrated) and a single light source.Without the need for a complex system,our method has the ability to estimate gaze during natural head movement,and to substantially simplify user calibration.Each step of the proposed method in this paper makes real-time implementation possible,which provides an effective solution for eye-gaze tracking in human-computer interaction systems.ZHANG Chuang CHI JianNan ZHANG ZhaoHui GAO XiaoLiang HU Tao WANG ZhiLiang 2011Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,11:6
7Effect of long-term weightlessness on retina and optic nerve in tail-suspension rats显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the effect of long-term weightlessness on retina and optic nerve in tail-suspension(TS) rats.METHODS: A stimulated weightlessness model was established by suspending rats' tail. After 12 wk, the ultrastructure and the number of optic nerve axons were observed by transmission electron microscope. The number of survival retinal ganglion cells(RGCs) was calculated by fluorescent gold retrograde labeling. Retina cells apoptosis was detected by TUNEL staining. The function of optic nerve and retina was evaluated by the visual evoked potential(VEP) and oscillatory potentials(Ops).RESULTS: The optic nerve axons were swollen and sparsely aligned, and the lamellar separation and myelin disintegration occurred after 12 wk in TS rats. 8Altered Motor-Striatal Plasticity and Cortical Functioning in Patients with Schizophrenia显示文摘Patients with schizophrenia undergo changes in brain plasticity. In the present study, we characterized motor cortical-striatal plasticity in such patients. Compared with the potentiation following high-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in the control group, the patients demonstrated impaired plasticity of corticostriatal motor-evoked potentials recorded from hand muscles.Notably, the loss of cortical plasticity was correlated with impaired motor learning in a rotary pursuit task. Moreover,the loss of plasticity was correlated with the symptoms of schizophrenia. 9PyWRKY26 and PybHLH3 cotargeted the PyMYB114 promoter to regulate anthocyanin biosynthesis and transport in red-skinned pears显示文摘Red pear is favored because of its bright appearance and abundant anthocyanins.Anthocyanin biosynthesis is controlled by transcription factors(TFs)forming regulatory complexes.In red-skinned pears,the WRKY TFs have a significant relationship with anthocyanin biosynthesis,but the molecular mechanism of the WRKY TFs involved in regulating color formation in red-skinned pear is unclear.In this study,the TFs PyWRKY31 and PyWRKY26 were screened as candidate genes for controlling anthocyanin biosynthesis by transcriptome data and bioinformatics analysis.The effect of anthocyanin accumulations after cotransformation of PyWRKY31 or PyWRKY26 with its partners PyMYB10,PyMYB114,and PybHLH3 was verified in tobacco leaves and strawberry receptacles by a transient expression system.RT-qPCR analysis and a dual-luciferase reporter system further confirmed that this cotransformation activated the expression of PyDFR,PyANS,and PyUFGT in anthocyanin biosynthesis and PyGST in anthocyanin transport instead of the PyABC transporter and PyAVP.Furthermore,the cotransformed PyWRKY26 and PybHLH3 could bind to the PyMYB114 promoter,and PyWRKY26 directly activated the transcription of PyMYB114.In addition,the TF PyWRKY26 could interact with PybHLH3,as confirmed by firefly luciferase complementation and yeast two-hybrid(Y2H)assays.These results showed that the interaction of PyWRKY26 and PybHLH3 could cotarget the PyMYB114 promoter,which resulted in anthocyanin accumulation in red-skinned pear.This study further strengthened the understanding of the regulatory mechanism of anthocyanin accumulation and contributed to improving the appearance of red-skinned pears.Chuang Li Jun Wu Kang-Di Hu Shu-Wei Wei Hong-Ye Sun Lan-Ying Hu Zhuo Han Gai-Fang Yao Hua Zhang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:5
10The study on the mechanical properties of PU/MF double shell self-healing microcapsules显示文摘The self-healing microcapsules can be buried in the coating to improve the anticorrosive ability.In this paper,self-healing microcapsules of polyurea(PU)/melamine resin(MF)double shell were prepared by in-situ polymerization and interfacial polymerization with isocyanate as the core material.Scanning electron microscope was used to observe the microcapsule morphology.The structures of microcapsules prepared with different chain extenders were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.The micromanipulation system was used to loading–holding,loading–unloading and loading to rupture individual microcapsules,so as to explore the mechanical properties of microcapsules.The Young’s modulus corresponding to microcapsules was calculated by mathematical model fitting.The self-healing properties of microcapsule coating were characterized by optical microscope.The experimental results showed that the microcapsule shell prepared under optimized conditions had a complete morphology and good mechanical properties.The microcapsule was in the elastic deformation stage under small deformation,and the plastic deformation stage under large deformation.The Young’s modulus range of microcapsules was 9.29–14.51 MPa,and the corresponding Young’s modulus could be prepared by adjusting the process.The surface crack of the coating containing microcapsule could heal itself after48 h in a humid environment.Guohao Du Jianfeng Hu Jianhui Zhou Guangwu Wang Shengli Guan Hailing Liu Man Geng Chuang Lv Yaoqiang Ming Jinqing Qu 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,5:4
11An effective thermal conductivity model for unsaturated compacted bentonites with consideration of bimodal shape of pore size distribution显示文摘An effective thermal conductivity model was proposed for unsaturated compacted bentonites with consideration of the bimodal shape of pore size distribution curves.The pores of soils were grouped into two dominant pore size modes corresponding to the intra-and inter-particle pores,and were simulated with randomly distributed spheroidal inclusions of different aspect ratios.With the assumption of preferential invasion of the wetting fluid(water)into pores of smaller sizes and by virtue of the analytical solution to the inhomogeneous inclusion problem in heat conduction,the model was developed using the Mori-Tanaka(MT),Ponte Casta?eda-Willis(PCW)and self-consistent(SC)homogenization approaches for different considerations of the interactions between pores and the solid phase.The proposed model is functions of the thermal conductivities of the solid,liquid and gas phases,porosity,the degree of saturation,the aspect ratios of pores and/or soil particles,and the fraction of the smaller group of pores.The proposed model was validated against five sets of laboratory measurement data on the MX-80,FEBEX,Kunigel-V1 and GMZ01 bentonites,showing a good agreement between the model predictions and the laboratory measurements.The responses of the model with respect to the geometries of pores and solid particles were examined.Compared to series-parallel structural models,the proposed model may overall exhibit better performance if proper homogenization schemes are adopted,but as an advantage,the model has clearer physical mechanisms and a smaller number of parameters.CHEN Yi Feng WANG Min ZHOU Song HU Ran ZHOU Chuang Bing 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,2:3
12A Review on the Architecture of Software Defined Network显示文摘Software defined network(SDN) is a promising network architecture which can simplify network management, ease deployment of network applications, and enable independent evolution of control plane and data plane. However, the separation of control plane and data plane intensifies performance concerns. In this paper, we review the performance of SDN from the perspective of I Ching which has a history of more than two and half millennia of commentary and interpretation, and provides inspiration to the worlds of business, military and religion. We utilize I Ching to model and abstract the architecture of SDN, and discuss the architecture and performance of SDN based on the statements of I Ching. Then we study current works and researches on the performance and architecture of SDN, and discuss the promising directions to the development and evolvement of SDN. 17Scalability Analysis of Request Scheduling in Cloud Computing显示文摘Rapid advancement of distributed computing systems enables complex services in remote computing clusters. Massive applications with large-scale and disparate characteristics also create high requirements for computing systems. Cloud computing provides a series of novel approaches to meet new trends and demands.However, some scalability issues have to be addressed in the request scheduling process and few studies have been conducted to solve these problems. Thus, this study investigates the scalability of the request scheduling process in cloud computing. We provide a theoretical definition of the scalability of this process. By modeling the scheduling server as a stochastic preemptive priority queue, we conduct a comprehensive theoretical and numerical analysis of the scalability metric under different structures and various environment configurations.
