| 1 | Mutation of the PHYTOENE DESATURASE 3 gene causes yellowish-white petals in Brassica napus显示文摘Oilseed rape (Brassica napus) with yellow flowers is an attractive ornamental landscape plant during the flowering period,and the development of different petal colors has become a breeding objective.Although yellowish flower color is a common variant observed in field-grown oilseed rape,the genetics behind this variation remains unclear.We obtained a yellowish-white flower (ywf) mutant from Zhongshuang 9 (ZS9) by ethyl methanesulfonate mutagenesis (EMS) treatment.Compared with ZS9,ywf exhibited a lower carotenoid content with a reduced and defective chromoplast ultrastructure in the petals.Genetic analysis revealed that the yellowish-white trait was controlled by a single recessive gene.Using bulked-segregant analysis sequencing (BSA-seq) and kompetitive allele-specific PCR(KASP),we performed map-based cloning of the ywf locus on chromosome A08 and found that ywf harbored a C-to-T substitution in the coding region,resulting in a premature translation termination.YWF,encoding phytoene desaturase 3 (PDS3),was highly expressed in oilseed rape petals and involved in carotenoid biosynthesis.Pathway enrichment analysis of the transcriptome profiles from ZS9 and ywf indicated the carotenoid biosynthesis pathway to be highly enriched.Further analyses of differentially expressed genes and carotenoid components revealed that the truncated Bna A08.PDS3 resulted in decreased carotenoid biosynthesis in the mutant.These results contribute to an understanding of the carotenoid biosynthesis pathway and manipulation of flower-color variation in B.napus. | Chuanji Zhao Luqman Bin Safdar Meili Xie Meijuan Shi Zhixue Dong Li Yang Xiaohui Cheng Yueying Liu Zetao Bai Yang Xiang Chaobo Tong Junyan Huang Lijiang Liu Shengyi Liu | 2021 | The Crop Journal2021,9,5: | 3 |

| 3 | Association between fluid-attenuated inversion recovery vascular hyperintensity and outcome varies with different lesion patterns in patients with intravenous thrombolysis显示文摘Background and purpose To evaluate relationship between fluid-attenuated inversion recovery vascular hyperintensity(FVH)after intravenous thrombolysis and outcomes in different lesion patterns on diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI).Methods Patients with severe internal carotid or intracranial artery stenosis who received intravenous thrombolysis from March 2012 to April 2019 were analysed.They were divided into four groups by DWI lesion patterns:border-zone infarct(BZ group),multiple lesions infarct(ML group),large territory infarct(LT group),and single cortical or subcortical lesion infarct(SL group).Logistic regression was performed to identify risk factors for outcome(unfavourable outcome,modified Rankin Scale(mRS)≥2;poor outcome,mRS≥3).Results Finally,203 participants(63.3±10.2 years old;BZ group,n=72;ML group,n=64;LT group,n=37;SL group,n=30)from 1190 patient cohorts were analysed.After adjusting for confounding factors,FVH(+)was associated with unfavourable outcome in total group(OR 3.02;95%CI 1.49 to 6.13;p=0.002),BZ group(OR 4.22;95%CI 1.25 to 14.25;p=0.021)and ML group(OR 5.44;95%CI 1.41 to 20.92;p=0.014)patients.FVH(+)was associated with poor outcome in total group(OR 2.25;95%CI 1.01 to 4.97;p=0.046),BZ group(OR 5.52;95%CI 0.98 to 31.07;p=0.053)and ML group(OR 4.09;95%CI 1.04 to 16.16;p=0.045)patients,which was marginal significance.FVH(+)was not associated with unfavourable or poor outcome in LT and SL groups.Conclusion This study suggests that association between FVH and outcome varies with different lesion patterns on DWI.The presence of FVH after intravenous thrombolysis may help to identify patients who require close observations in the hospitalisation in patients with border-zone and multiple lesion infarcts. | Erling Wang Chuanjie Wu Dandan Yang Xihai Zhao Jie Zhao Hong Chang Qi Yang | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,3: | 3 |

| 10 | Genome-wide association study exposed the pleiotropic genes for yield-related and oil quality traits in Brassica napus L.显示文摘Oilseed rape(Brassica napus L.) is an allotetraploid(AACC,2n=38) crop,valued for its edible oil and protein content.seed yield and nutritional composition of rapeseed are influenced by its yield and oil quality traits.However,the genetic basis of yield-related and oil-quality traits remain ambiguous.A panel of 266 diversified oilseed rape accessions was genotyped using 223 simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers covering all 19 chromosomes to identify significant markers associated with yield and quality traits.Twelve yield-related and six quality traits were investigated in two consecutive years(2014 and 2015),with three replications in two environments(Changshun,CS;and Qinghe,QH).Using the model GLM with population structure and kinship(Q+K),a total of 25 significant SSR markers(P <0.001) were detected to be associated with these twelve yield-related and six quality traits,explaining 4.56%-19.17% of the phenotypic variation for each trait.Based on these markers,BnaA03g23490D, BnaC09g46370D,BnaA07g37150D,BnaA01g32590D, and BnaC09g37280D were identified as pleiotropic genes controlling multiple traits.These candidate genes illustrated the potential for the genetic understanding of yield and oil quality traits.Most importantly,these significant markers can be used for marker-assisted breeding of oilseed rape in different environments. | Yang Xiang M.M.U.Helal Longbing Liang Minqin Zhang Hongshi Han Xianglai Dai Jixian Zhao Dalun Chen Xianping Wang Min Li Chuanji Zhao | 2023 | Oil Crop Science2023,8,3: | 0 |
