1High performance of a unique mesoporous polystyrene-based adsorbent for blood purification显示文摘A multi-functional polystyrene based adsorbent(NKU-9)with a unique mesoporous and a high surface area was prepared by suspension polymerization for removal of therapeutic toxins in blood purification.The adsorbent produced had an almost equal amount of mesopore distribution in the range from 2 to 50 nm.The adsorption of serum toxins with different molecular weights were examined by in vitro adsorption assays and compared with some clinical currently used adsorbents such as HA-330,Cytosorb and BL-300 which are produced by China,America and Japan,respectively.Test results indicated that the adsorption rate for pentobarbital by NKU-9 was 81.24%which is nearly as high as HA-330(81.44%).The latter adsorbent is currently used for acute detoxification treatment in China.To reach adsorption equilibrium,NKU-9 was faster than HA-330,which implies short treatment time.For the removal of middle molecular toxins such as b2-microglobulin(98.88%),NKU-9 performed better adsorptive selectivity than Cytosorb(92.80%).In addition,NKU-9 showed high performance for the removal of albumin-bound toxins(e.g.,bilirubin),and its adsorption rate for total bilirubin(80.79%)in plasma was 8.4%higher than that of anion exchange resin BL-300 which is currently used to eliminate bilirubin in clinic.Therefore,our results indicate that the newly developed adsorbent with a wide distribution and almost equal amount of mesopores is a multifunctional adsorbent for high efficient removal of serum toxins with different molecular weights which might be an excellent blood purification adsorbent especially to treat diseases that conventional medical methods are low or not efficient.Jian Chen Wenyan Han Jie Chen Wenhui Zong Weichao Wang Yue Wang Guanghui Cheng Chunran Li Lailiang Ou Yaoting Yu 2017Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,1:3

3Cu-doped Bi/Bi_(2)WO_(6) catalysts for efficient N_(2) fixation by photocatalysis显示文摘In this paper,Cu-doped Bi_(2)WO_(6)was synthesized via a solvothermal method and applied it in photocatalytic N_(2)immobilization.Characterization results showed the presence of a small amount of metallic Bi in the photocatalyst,indicating that the synthesized photocatalyst is actually Bi/Cu-Bi_(2)WO_(6)composite.The doped Cu had a valence state of+2 and most likely substituted the position of Bi^(3+).The introduced Cu did not affect the metallic Bi content,but mainly influenced the energy band structure of Bi_(2)WO_(6).The band gap was slightly narrowed,the conduction band was elevated,and the work function was reduced.The reduced work function improved the transfer and separation of charge carriers,which mainly caused the increased photoactivity.The optimized NH_(3)generation rates of Bi/Cu-Bi_(2)WO_(6)reached 624 and 243μmol·L^(-1)·g^(-1)·h^(-1)under simulated solar and visible light,and these values were approximately 2.8 and 5.9 times higher those of Bi/Bi_(2)WO_(6),respectively.This research provides a method for improving the photocatalytic N_(2)fixation and may provide more information on the design and preparation of heteroatom-doped semiconductor photocatalysts for N_(2)-to-NH_(3)conversion.Xiaojing Li Chunran Zhao Junfeng Wang Jiayu Zhang Ying Wu Yiming He 2023Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,10:1
4Activation of parvalbumin interneurons in anterior cingulate cortex impairs observational fear显示文摘The ability to detect conspecific's distress is crucial for animal survival.In rodent models,observational fear(OF) occurs when one animal perceives another fear related negative emotions,which may model certain behaviors caused by witnessing traumatic experiences in humans.Anterior cingulate cortex(ACC) has been showed to play a crucial role in OF.However,cellular and neural circuit basis relating to ACC governing OF is poorly understood.Here,we used Designer Receptor Exclusively Activated by a Designer Drug(DREADD) system to investigate the cell type specific circuit mechanism of ACC in OF.Firstly,inhibitory hM4D(Gi) designer receptor together with clozapine N-oxide(CNO) injection was applied to inactivate ACC neurons in the observer mice.We found that,chemogenetic inhibition of ACC resulted in a decreased freezing response in the observer mice.Next,combining PV-ires-Cre mice and Cre-dependent DREADD system,we selectively targeted the ACC parvalbumin(PV) interneurons with the excitatory hM3D(Gq) designer receptor.Activation of ACC PV interneurons following CNO injection reduced freezing response in the observer mice,while had no effect on freezing response in the demonstrator mice.Finally,monosynaptic rabies retrograde tracing revealed that ACC PV interneurons receive inputs from the mediodorsal thalamic nucleus(MD) and the ventromedial thalamic nucleus(VM),both known for their roles in OF.Taken together,these findings reveal that ACC activation is important for OF,during which PV interneurons in ACC play an important regulatory role.Abnormal function of ACC PV interneurons might contribute to the pathology of empathy-deficits related diseases,such as autism and schizophrenia.Chunran Zhou Zheng Zhou Yushui Han Zhuogui Lei Lei Li Quentin Montardy Xuemei Liu Fuqiang Xu Liping Wang 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,12:1

9Decoration of CdMoO_(4) micron polyhedron with Pt nanoparticle and their enhanced photocatalytic performance in N_(2) fixation and water purification显示文摘This study aimed to prepare and apply a novel Pt/CdMoO_(4) composite photocatalyst for photocatalytic N2 fixation and tetracycline degradation. The Pt/CdMoO_(4) composite was subjected to comprehensive investigation on the morphology, structure, optical properties, and photoelectric chemical properties. The results demonstrate the dispersion of Pt nanoparticles on the CdMoO_(4) surface. Close contact between CdMoO_(4) and Pt was observed, resulting in the formation of a heterojunction structure at their contact region. Density functional theory calculation and Mott-Schottky analysis revealed that Pt possesses a higher work function value than CdMoO_(4), resulting in electron drift from CdMoO_(4) to Pt and the formation of a Schottky barrier. The presence of this barrier increases the separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs, thereby improving the performance of the Pt/CdMoO_(4) composite in photocatalysis. When exposed to simulated sunlight, the optimal Pt/CdMoO_(4) catalyst displayed a photocatalytic nitrogen fixation rate of 443.7 μmol·L‒^(1)·g‒^(1)·h‒^(1), which is 3.2 times higher than that of pure CdMoO_(4). In addition, the composite also exhibited excellent performance in tetracycline degradation, with hole and superoxide species identified as the primary reactive species. 10Diagnostic Value of CYFRA21-1, CA19-9 and SCCAg Detection in Esophageal Cancer显示文摘Objectives To investigate the value of serum cytokeratin 19 fragment(CYFRA21-1),carbohydrate anti-gen 19-9(CA19-9)and squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCCAg)in the diagnosis of esophageal cancer.Methods 100 cases of esophageal cancer(study group)and 50 healthy subjects(control group)were recruited in the study,the serum levels of CYFRA21-1,CA19-9 and SCCAg in these patients were detected.Subgroups analysis was performed in study group by clinical staging,and the diagnostic value of CYFRA21-1,CA19-9 and SCCAg in detecting esophageal cancer was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC).Results The serum levels of CYFRA21-1,CA19-9 and SCCAg in study group were significantly higher than those in control group,and those were significantly lower in patients with stageⅠ-Ⅱdisease than those with stageⅢandⅣdisease,indicating statistically significant difference(P<0.01);the sensitivity of serum CYFRA21-1,CA19-9 and SCCAg in the diagnosis of esophageal cancer was 82.26%,and specificity was 91.33%,with positive predictive value being 86.14%,and negative predictive value being 89.57%,and AUC value was 0.864,the combined detection was superior to each measure utilized alone,the difference was significantly significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined detection of serum CYFRA21-1,CA19-9,and SCCAg can significantly improve the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity in detecting the esophageal cancer.Du Chunran Wang Yanming Hou Shenyan 2018Proceedings of Anticancer Research2018,2,2:0
11Strain and Temperature Discrimination Based on a Mach-Zehnder Interferometer With Cascaded Single Mode Fibers显示文摘An in-fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer is proposed for the discrimination of strain and temperature.The sensor is based on two cascaded standard single mode fibers using three peanut tapers fabricated by simple splicing.The cascaded structure excites more frequency components,which induce four sets of interference dips in the transmission spectrum.One set of the spectrum dips have different sensitivities to temperature and strain from those of the other three.The sensor can discriminate strain and temperature by monitoring the wavelength shifts of two spectrum dips.Repeated experiments are taken both for strain and temperature increasing and decreasing scenarios.Experimental results show that Dip 1 has an average strain sensitivity of-0.911 pm/με and an average temperature sensitivity of 49.98pm/℃.The strain sensitivity for Dip 2 is negligible and its average temperature sensitivity is 60.52pm/℃.The strain and temperature resolutions are±3.82με and±0.33℃.Shiying XIAO Beilei WU Chunran SUN Zixiao WANG Youchao JIANG 2023Photonic Sensors2023,13,1:0
12Efficient preparation of a four-photon cluster state with homodyne measurement via cross-Kerr nonlinearity显示文摘A scheme is proposed for generating a multiphoton entangled cluster state among four modes. The scheme only uses Kerr medium, beam splitter and homodyne measurements on coherent light fields, which can be efficiently made in quantum optical laboratories. The photon in the signal mode is prepared in a superposition state of the vacuum state and one-photon state while the probe beam is initially set in a coherent state superposition. The strong probe mode interacts successively with multiple signal-mode photons, each causing a conditional phase rotation in the probe mode. Subsequent momentum quadrature homodyne measurement of the probe mode will project the photons in the signal mode into the desired entangled states. 13Facile preparation of Ag_(2)S/KTa_(0.5)Nb_(0.5)O_(3) heterojunction for enhanced performance in catalytic nitrogen fixation via photocatalysis and piezo-photocatalysis显示文摘In this work, a novel heterojunction composite Ag_(2)S/KTa_(x)Nb_(1-x)O_(3)was designed and synthesized through a combination of hydrothermal and precipitation procedures. The Ta/Nb ratio of the KTa_(x)Nb_(1-x)O_(3)and the Ag_(2)S content were optimized. The best 0.5% Ag_(2)S/KTa_(0.5)Nb_(0.5)O_(3)(KTN) sample presents an enhanced photocatalytic performance in ammonia synthesis than KTN and Ag_(2)S. Under simulated sunlight, the NH_(3)generation rate of 0.5% Ag_(2)S/KTN reaches 2.0 times that of pure KTN. Under visible light, the reaction rate ratio of the two catalysts is 6.0.XRD, XPS, and TEM analysis revealed that Ag2S was intimately decorated on the KTN nanocubes surface, which promoted the electron transfer between the two semiconductors. The band structure investigation indicated that the Ag_(2)S/KTN heterojunction established a type-Ⅱ band alignment with intimate contact, thus realizing the effective transfer and separation of photogenerated carriers. The change in charge separation was considered as the main reason for the enhanced photocatalytic performance. Interestingly, the Ag_(2)S/KTN composite exhibited higher NH3generation performance under the combined action of ultrasonic vibration and simulated sunlight. The enhanced piezo-photocatalytic performance can be ascribed that the piezoelectric effect of KTN improved the bulk separation of charge carriers in KTN. 14One-step preparation of MoO_(x)/ZnS/ZnO composite and its excellent performance in piezocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B under ultrasonic vibration显示文摘This paper synthesized a new type of ternary piezoelectric catalyst MoO_(x)/ZnS/ZnO (MZZ)by a one-step method.The catalytic degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) solution (10μg/g,pH=7.0) shows that the composite catalyst has excellent piezoelectric catalytic activity under ultrasonic vibration (40 k Hz).The piezoelectric degradation rate of the optimal sample reached 0.054 min^(-1),which was about 2.5 times that of pure ZnO.X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),Raman,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) technologies were used to analyze the structure,morphology,and interface charge transfer properties of the MZZ piezocatalysts.The results showed that the composite catalyst may have a core-shell structure.ZnS is coated on the surface of ZnO,while MoO_(x)adheres to the surface of ZnS.This structure endowed MZZ larger specific surface area than ZnO,which benefits the RhB adsorption.More importantly,the formed heterojunction structure between ZnS and ZnO promotes the separation of positive and negative charges induced by the piezoelectric effect.MoO_(x)species may act as a charge trap to further promote more carriers to participate in the reaction.In addition,MoO_(x)may also be beneficial in adsorbing dyes.Active species capture experiments show that superoxide radicals and holes are the main active species in piezoelectric catalytic reactions on MZZ catalysts.Song Zheng Xiaojing Li Jiayu Zhang Junfeng Wang Chunran Zhao Xin Hu Ying Wu Yiming He 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3:0
