1The antiviral and antimicrobial activities of licorice, a widely-used Chinese herb显示文摘Licorice is a common herb which has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries.More than 20 triterpenoids and nearly 300 flavonoids have been isolated from licorice. Recent studies have shown that these metabolites possess many pharmacological activities, such as antiviral,antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antitumor and other activities. This paper provides a summary of the antiviral and antimicrobial activities of licorice. The active components and the possible mechanisms for these activities are summarized in detail. 2The second natural gas hydrate production test in the South China Sea显示文摘Clayey silt reservoirs bearing natural gas hydrates(NGH)are considered to be the hydrate-bearing reservoirs that boast the highest reserves but tend to be the most difficult to exploit.They are proved to be exploitable by the first NGH production test conducted in the South China Sea in 2017.Based on the understanding of the first production test,the China Geological Survey determined the optimal target NGH reservoirs for production test and conducted a detailed assessment,numerical and experimental simulation,and onshore testing of the reservoirs.After that,it conducted the second offshore NGH production test in 1225 m deep Shenhu Area,South China Sea(also referred to as the second production test)from October 2019 to April 2020.During the second production test,a series of technical challenges of drilling horizontal wells in shallow soft strata in deep sea were met,including wellhead stability,directional drilling of a horizontal well,reservoir stimulation and sand control,and accurate depressurization.As a result,30 days of continuous gas production was achieved,with a cumulative gas production of 86.14×104 m3.Thus,the average daily gas production is 2.87×10^4 m^3,which is 5.57 times as much as that obtained in the first production test.Therefore,both the cumulative gas production and the daily gas production were highly improved compared to the first production test.As indicated by the monitoring results of the second production test,there was no anomaly in methane content in the seafloor,seawater,and atmosphere throughout the whole production test.This successful production test further indicates that safe and effective NGH exploitation is feasible in clayey silt NGH reservoirs.The industrialization of hydrates consists of five stages in general,namely theoretical research and simulation experiments,exploratory production test,experimental production test,productive production test,and commercial production.The second production test serves as an important step from the exploratory production test to experimental production test.Jian-liang Ye Xu-wen Qin Wen-wei Xie Hai-long Lu Bao-jin Ma Hai-jun Qiu Jin-qiang Liang Jing-an Lu Zeng-gui Kuang Cheng Lu Qian-yong Liang Shi-peng Wei Yan-jiang Yu Chunsheng Liu Bin Li Kai-xiang Shen Hao-xian Shi Qiu-ping Lu Jing Li Bei-bei Kou Gang Song Bo Li He-en Zhang Hong-feng Lu Chao Ma Yi-fei Dong Hang Bian 2020China Geology2020,3,2:22

4Fingolimod alters inflammatory mediators and vascular permeability in intracerebral hemorrhage显示文摘Intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH) leads to high rates of death and disability. The pronounced infl ammatory reactions that rapidly follow ICH contribute to disease progression. Our recent clinical trial demonstrated that oral administration of an immune modulator fingolimod restrained secondary injury derived from initial hematoma,but the mechanisms remain unknown. In this study,we aim to investigate the effects of fingolimod on inflammatory mediators and vascular permeability in the clinical trial of oral fingolimod for intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH). The results showed that fingolimod decreased the numbers of circulating CD4^+ T,CD8^+ T,CD(19)^+B,NK,and NKT cells and they recovered quickly after the drug was stopped. The plasma ICAM level was decreased and IL-10 was increased by fingolimod. Interestingly,fingolimod protected vascular permeability as indicated by a decreased plasma level of MMP9 and the reduced r T1%. In conclusion,modulation of systemic inflammation by fingolimod demonstrates that it is an effective therapeutic agent for ICH. 5Micro-sprinkling irrigation simultaneously improves grain yield and protein concentration of winter wheat in the North China Plain显示文摘Increased grain yield(GY) and grain protein concentration(GPC) are the two main targets of efforts to improve wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) production in the North China Plain(NCP). We conducted a three-year field experiment in the 2014–2017 winter wheat growing seasons to compare the effects of conventional irrigation practice(CI) and micro-sprinkling irrigation combined with nitrogen(N) fertilizer(MSI) on GY, GPC, and protein yield(PY). Across the three years, GY, GPC, and PY increased by 10.5%–16.7%, 5.4%–8.0%, and 18.8%–24.6%, respectively, under MSI relative to CI. The higher GY under MSI was due primarily to increased thousand-kernel weight(TKW). The chlorophyll content of leaves was higher under MSI during the mid–late grain filling period, increasing the contribution of post-anthesis dry matter accumulation to GY, with consequent increases in total dry matter accumulation and harvest index compared to CI. During the mid–late grain filling period, the canopy temperature was markedly lower and the relative humidity was higher under MSI than under CI. The duration and rate of filling during the mid–late grain filling period were also higher under MSI than CI, resulting in higher TKW. MSI increased the contribution of post-anthesis N accumulation to grain N but reduced the pre-anthesis remobilization of N in leaves, the primary site of photosynthetic activity, possibly helping maintain photosynthate production in leaves during grain filling. Total N at maturity was higher under MSI than CI,although there was little difference in N harvest index. The higher GPC under MSI than under CI was due to a larger increase in grain N accumulation than in GY. 6In-plane corrugated cosine honeycomb for 1D morphing skin and its application on variable camber wing显示文摘A novel 0-Poisson's ratio cosine honeycomb support structure of flexible skin is proposed. Mechanical model of the structure is analyzed with the energy method, finite element method (FEM) and experiments have been performed to validate the theoretical model. The in-plane characteristics of the cosine honeycomb are compared with accordion honeycomb through analytical models and experiments. Finally, the application of the cosine honeycomb on a variable camber wing is studied. Studies show that mechanical model agrees well with results of FEM and experiments. The transverse non-dimensional elastic modulus of the cosine honeycomb increases (decreases) when the wavelength or the wall width increases (decreases), or when the amplitude decreases (increases). Compared with accordion honeycomb, the transverse non-dimensional elastic modulus of the cosine honeycomb is smaller, which means the driving force is smaller and the power consumption is less during deformation. 7Effect of Sc and Zr additions on microstructures and corrosion behavior of Al-Cu-Mg-Sc-Zr alloys显示文摘The effects of adding the alloy element Sc to Al alloys on strengthening, recrystallization and modification of the grain microstructure have been investigated. The combination of Sc and Zr alloying not only produces a remarkable synergistic effect of inhibition of recrystallization and refinement of grain size but also substantially reduce the amount of high-cost additional Sc. In this work, the microstructures and corrosion behavior of a new type of Al-Cu-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy with Sc/Zr ratio of 1/2 were investigated.The experimental results showed that the Sc and Zr additions to Al-Cu-Mg alloy could strongly inhibit recrystallization, refine grain size, impede the segregation of Cu element along the grain boundary and increase the spacing of grain boundary precipitates. In addition, adding Sc and Zr to Al-Cu-Mg alloy effectively restricts the corrosion mechanism conversion associated with Al2 Cu Mg particles, which resulted in the change of the cross-section morphology of inter-granular corrosion from an undercutting to an elliptical shape. The susceptibility to inter-granular corrosion was significantly decreased with increasing Sc and Zr additions to the Al-Cu-Mg alloy. 8Laboratory tests and numerical simulations of brittle marble and squeezing schist at Jinping II hydropower station,China显示文摘Four 16.7 km-long tunnels with diameters ranging from 12.4 to 14.6 m are now under construction at Jinping II hydropower station along the Yalong River.The tunnels pass through Triassic rocks below Jinping Mountain.The tunnels are characterized with high overburden,long alignment and complex geological conditions.Brittle failure in marble and squeezing in schist are the primary problems in tunnelling.This paper introduces the studies of laboratory tests on Jinping II marble as well as numerical prediction of excavation damaged zone (EDZ) of tunnel section in brittle marble and determination of reinforced concrete lining thickness for restraining time-dependent deformation in the schist tunnel section.Laboratory tests indicate that Jinping II marble presents a complex brittle-ductile-plastic transition behavior of post-peak response with increasing confining pressure.Such behavior can be described numerically with the Hoek-Brown model.The EDZ was calibrated and predicted using both fast Lagrangian analysis of continua (FLAC) and particle flow code (PFC).The predicted result of EDZ in sections with different qualities of rock mass under various overburden pressures is quite helpful in understanding EDZ characterization and support design.A power-law creep model was used to support the lining design,especially in determining the lining thickness.Field convergence measurement data over 19 months were used to calibrate the creep model properties,followed by a sensibility analysis of reinforced concrete lining thickness that was launched to present the maximum lining compressive stress.Chunsheng Zhang,Weijiang Chu,Ning Liu,Yongsheng Zhu,Jing Hou East China Investigation and Design Institute,China Hydropower Engineering Consulting Group Co.,Hangzhou,310014,China 2011Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2011,3,1:10
9Analysis of 2D Flow and Heat Transfer Modeling in Fracture of Porous Media显示文摘Heat and mass transfer between porous media and fluid is a complex coupling process, which is widely used in various fields of engineering applications, especially for natural and artificial fractures in oil and gas extraction. In this study, a new method is proposed to deal with the flow and heat transfer problem of steady flow in a fracture. The fluid flow in a fracture was described using the same method as Mohais, who considered a fracture as a channel with porous wall, and the perturbation method was used to solve the mathematical model. Unlike previous studies, the shear jump boundary condition proposed by Ochoa-Tapia and Whitaker was used at the interface between the fluid and porous media. The main methods were perturbation analysis and the application of shear jump boundary conditions. The influence of permeability, channel width, shear jump degree and effective dynamic viscosity on the flow and heat transfer in the channel was studied by analysing the analytical solution. 10Chronic intermittent hypoxia accelerates liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis via angiogenesis rather than endoplasmic reticulum stress显示文摘In the present study,we aimed to investigate the role of endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS)and its related inflammation and angiogenesis in liver fibrosis in a rat model of combined hypoxia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)and to confirm whether the intervention of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF1α)can improve fibrosis.Liver histological changes and biochemical indices,HIF1α,inflammatory factors,ERS-related parameters(GRP78,CHOP,caspase-3,and caspase-12),and angiogenesis indices(VEGFA,VEGFR2,and CD34)were evaluated.Compared with the control rats,the liver tissue of rats with hypoxia and NASH had obvious NASH characteristics and hepatic fibrosis was significantly aggravated,including bridging fibrosis in some rats.The mRNA expression levels of HIF1α,VEGFA,and VEGFR2 and total immunohistochemical staining scores of VEGFR2 and CD34 were significantly increased.In addition,HIF1α silencing significantly decreased HIF1α,biochemical indices(ALT,AST,and TG),inflammatory factors(TNFα,IL6,and IL1β),and angiogenesis indices(CD34 and VEGFR2),consequently,improved the hepatic fibrosis score in the rat model of combined hypoxia and NASH.Taken together,chronic intermittent hypoxia accelerates liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and NASH via angiogenesis rather than ERS and HIF1α intervention can improve liver fibrosis,angiogenesis,inflammatory factors,and biochemical indices.Therefore,HIF1α is a key regulatory factor of liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and NASH.Wei Wu Weiping Li Jiaojiao Wei Chunsheng Wang Yunliang Yao Weihua Zhu Weimei He Weimei Zhou Jiang Liu 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,2:8

14Enhancing production of ergosterol in Pichia pastoris GS115 by over-expression of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA reductase from Glycyrrhiza uralensis显示文摘The rate-limiting enzyme in the mevalonic acid(MVA)pathway which can lead to triterpenoid saponin glycyrrhizic acid(GA)is 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase(HMGR).In order to reveal the effect of copy number variation in the HMGR gene on the MVA pathway,the HMGR gene from Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.(GuHMGR)was cloned and over-expressed in Pichia pastoris GS115.Six recombinant P.pastoris strains containing different copy numbers of the GuHMGR gene were obtained and the content of ergosterol was analyzed by HPLC.The results showed that all the recombinant P.pastoris strains contained more ergosterol than the negative control and the strains with 8 and 44 copies contained significantly more ergosterol than the other strains.However,as the copy number increased,the content of ergosterol showed an increasing–decreasing–increasing pattern.This study provides a rationale for increasing the content of GA through over-expressing the GuHMGR gene in cultivars of G.uralensis.Ying Liu Xiaoqing Zhu Wendong Li Hao Wen Ya Gao Yong Liu Chunsheng Liu 2014Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,2:7

16Dynamic Simulation and Disturbance Torque Analyzing of Motional Cable Harness Based on Kirchhoff Rod Model显示文摘The motional payloads on stabilized platform must be linked by some cable harnesses with other immobile apparatus.During the operation of stabilized platform,these cable harnesses can create spring disturbance torque which is exerted on the stabilized platform and then reduce the stabilizing precision.None of current studies can deal with the spring disturbance torque problem.To analyze the spring disturbance toque,a dynamic thin rod model is presented for simulating the motional cable harness which is based on the Kirchhoff rod theorem and can consider the geometrically non-linear effects.The internal bending and torsion restoring torques are simulated and then a predictive analysis of the disturbance torque can be performed in motional cable routing design.This model is solved with differential quadrature method(DQM).By using zeros of the Chebyshev polynomial as the grid points,the arc-coordinate is discretized to obtain a set of ordinary differential equations in time domain which is solved by implied method to obtain the profile and internal force of cable harness.The accuracy of this model is validated by comparing the simulation results and the experiment results(both the spring force and the deformed profile of the motional cable harness).In the experiment,a special optical measuring instrument based on binocular vision is developed.The comparison of experimental and simulated results shows that the simulation model can represent the real motional cable harness well,and the spring disturbance force simulation results are precise enough for spring disturbance torque analysis.This study will be helpful to obtain an optimized motional cable harness layout design with small spring disturbance torque.WANG Chunsheng NING Ruxin LIU Jianhua ZHAO Tao 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,2:6
17Cloning and characterization of the gene encoding β-amyrin synthase in the glycyrrhizic acid biosynthetic pathway in Glycyrrhiza uralensis显示文摘Glycyrrhiza uralensis is considered to be one of the most important herbs in traditional Chinese medicine due to its numerous pharmacological effects particularly its ability to relieve cough and act as a mucolytic.Based on previous research,these effects are mediated by a number of active ingredients,especially glycyrrhizic acid(GA).In the present study,a gene encodingβ-amyrin synthase(β-AS)involved in GA biosynthesis in G.uralensis has been cloned and expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.The cloned enzyme showed similar activity to native enzymes isolated from other Glycyrrhiza species to catalyze the conversion of 2,3-oxidosqualene intoβ-amyrin.In fact theβ-AS gene is particularly important in the GA biosynthetic pathway in G.uralensis.The complete sequence of the enzyme was determined and a phylogenetic tree based on theβ-AS gene of G.uralensis and 20 other species was created.This showed that Glycyrrhiza glabra had the closest kinship with G.uralensis.The results of this work will be useful in determining how to improve the efficacy of G.uralensis by improving its GA content and in exploring the biosynthesis of GA in vitro.Honghao Chen Ying Liu Xiaoqin Zhang Xinjie Zhan Chunsheng Liu 2013Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,6:5
18Robust fault detection for a class of nonlinear network control system with communication delay显示文摘To investigate a class of nonlinear network control system,a robust fault diagnosis method is presented based on the robust state observer.To access the objective that the designed robust filter is maximally tolerant to disturbances and sensitive to fault,the robustness and stability properties of the fault diagnosis scheme are established rigorously.Using the residual vector,a fault tolerant controller is established in order to guarantee the stability of the closed-loop system,and the controller law can be obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. 20Novel robust control framework for morphing aircraft显示文摘This paper develops a robust control methodology for a class of morphing aircraft,which is called innovative control effector(ICE) aircraft.For the ICE morphing aircraft,the distributed arrays of hundreds of shape-change devices are employed to stabilize and maneuver the air vehicle.Because the morphing aircraft have the inherent uncertainty and varying dynamics due to the alteration of their configuration,a desired control performance can not be satisfied with a fixed feedback controller.Therefore,a novel control framework including an adaptive flight control law and an adaptive allocation algorithm is proposed.Firstly,a state feedback adaptive control law is designed to guarantee closed-loop stability and state tracking in the presence of uncertain dynamics caused by the wing shape change due to different flight missions.In the control allocation,many distributed arrays are managed in an optimal way to improve the robustness of the system.The scheme is used to an uncertain morphing aircraft model,and the simulation results demonstrate their performance.Chunsheng Liu Shaojie Zhang 2013Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2013,24,2:4
