| 1 | Sequencing of Cultivated Peanut, Arachis hypogaea, Yields Insights into Genome Evolution and Oil Improvement显示文摘Cultivated peanut (Arachis hypogaea) is an allotetraploid crop planted in Asia, Africa, and America for edible oil and protein. To explore the origins and consequences of tetraploidy, we sequenced the allotetraploid A. hypogaea genome and compared it with the related diploid Arachis duranensis and Arachis ipaensis genomes. We annotated 39 888 A-subgenome genes and 41 526 B-subgenome genes in allotetraploid peanut. The A. hypogaea subgenomes have evolved asymmetrically, with the B subgenome resembling the ancestral state and the A subgenome undergoing more gene disruption, loss, conversion, and transposable element proliferation, and having reduced gene expression during seed development despite lacking genome-wide expression dominance. Genomic and transcriptomic analyses identified more than 2 500 oil metabolism-related genes and revealed that most of them show altered expression early in seed development while their expression ceases during desiccation, presenting a comprehensive map of peanut lipid biosynthesis. | 2 | Micro-sprinkling irrigation simultaneously improves grain yield and protein concentration of winter wheat in the North China Plain显示文摘Increased grain yield(GY) and grain protein concentration(GPC) are the two main targets of efforts to improve wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) production in the North China Plain(NCP). We conducted a three-year field experiment in the 2014–2017 winter wheat growing seasons to compare the effects of conventional irrigation practice(CI) and micro-sprinkling irrigation combined with nitrogen(N) fertilizer(MSI) on GY, GPC, and protein yield(PY). Across the three years, GY, GPC, and PY increased by 10.5%–16.7%, 5.4%–8.0%, and 18.8%–24.6%, respectively, under MSI relative to CI. The higher GY under MSI was due primarily to increased thousand-kernel weight(TKW). The chlorophyll content of leaves was higher under MSI during the mid–late grain filling period, increasing the contribution of post-anthesis dry matter accumulation to GY, with consequent increases in total dry matter accumulation and harvest index compared to CI. During the mid–late grain filling period, the canopy temperature was markedly lower and the relative humidity was higher under MSI than under CI. The duration and rate of filling during the mid–late grain filling period were also higher under MSI than CI, resulting in higher TKW. MSI increased the contribution of post-anthesis N accumulation to grain N but reduced the pre-anthesis remobilization of N in leaves, the primary site of photosynthetic activity, possibly helping maintain photosynthate production in leaves during grain filling. Total N at maturity was higher under MSI than CI,although there was little difference in N harvest index. The higher GPC under MSI than under CI was due to a larger increase in grain N accumulation than in GY. | 4 | Indirect mineral carbonation of blast furnace slag with(NH4)2SO4 as a recyclable extractant显示文摘Large quantities of CO_2 and blast furnace slag are discharged in the iron and steel industry. Mineral carbonation of blast furnace slag can offer substantial CO_2 emission reduction and comprehensive utilisation of the solid waste. In this study, a recyclable extractant,(NH_4)_2SO_4, was used to extract calcium and magnesium from blast furnace slag(main phases of gehlenite and akermanite) by using low-temperature roasting to fix CO_2 through aqueous carbonation. The process parameters and efficiency of the roasting extraction, mineralisation, and Al recovery were investigated in detail. The results showed that the extractions of Ca, Mg, and Al can reach almost 100% at an(NH4)_2SO_4-to-slag mass ratio of 3:1 and at 370°C in 1 h. Adjusting the p H value of the leaching solution of the roasted slag to 5.5 with the NH_3 released during the roasting resulted in 99% Al precipitation, while co-precipitation of Mg was lower than 2%. The Mg-rich leachate after the depletion of Al and the leaching residue(main phases of CaSO_4 and SiO_2) were carbonated using(NH_4)_2CO_3 and NH_4HCO_3 solutions, respectively, under mild conditions. Approximately 99% of Ca and 89% of Mg in the blast furnace slag were converted into CaCO_3 and(NH_4)_2 Mg(CO_3)_2·4 H_2O,respectively. The latter can be selectively decomposed to magnesium carbonate at 100-200 °C to recover the NH_3 for reuse. In the present route, the total CO_2 sequestration capacity per tonne of blast furnace slag reached up to 316 kg, and 313 kg of Al-rich precipitate, 1000 kg of carbonated product containing CaCO_3 and SiO_2, and 304 kg of carbonated product containing calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate were recovered simultaneously. | 5 | Quadrapyrgites from the lower Cambrian of South China:growth pattern,post-embryonic development,and affinity显示文摘Quadrapyrgites is a microfossil reported with embryonic and post-embryonic stages from the lower Cambrian small shelly fauna of South China,and is closely related to Olivooides.Their development mode and systematic positions are hot topics in palaeoembryology and evolutionary biology in recent years,but are still under debate.Here,we present a description on the growth pattern and post-embryonic development of Quadrapyrgites quadratacris recovered from the lower Cambrian of South China.The growth zone of Q.quadratacris is situated at the oral end,and new terminal lobes are generated within the oral aperture.The terminal lobes are first in control of the opening and closure of the tubes,and later transferred to be crests,thus elongating the tubes.The post-embryonic development is characterized by a one-by-one addition of crests on the post-embryonic tissue,and an ontogenetic sequence with crest number from 1 to 17 is reconstructed.During the ontogeny,the embryonic tissue remains stable in size and morphology.The oral aperture is the only opening of the tubes,while a possible anus on the apical end does not occur.Quadrapyrgites was proposed to be the sister group of Olivooides,and now this is strengthened by the identical growth pattern and post-embryonic development.The comprehensive data from anatomy,growth pattern and post-embryonic development reject the stemlineage cycloneuralian affinity for Quadrapyrgites and Olivooides,and instead support a coronate scyphozoan hypothesis. | Yunhuan Liu Yong Li Tiequan Shao Huaqiao Zhang Qi Wang Jinpeng Qiao | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,31: | 9 |

| 8 | Uncommon EGFR mutations in a cohort of Chinese NSCLC patients and outcomes of first-line EGFR-TKIs and platinum-based chemotherapy显示文摘Objective: Data on the clinical activity of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and uncommon EGFR mutations remain insufficient.This study aimed to investigate the effect of first-line EGFR-TKIs or platinum-based chemotherapy in NSCLC patients with uncommon EGFR mutations.Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 504 patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC.The clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes were collected and compared between patients with common and uncommon EGFR-mutant NSCLC.Results: Seventy patients(13.9%) harboring uncommon EGFR mutations were included.Thirty of these patients received EGFR-TKIs and 40 received platinum-based chemotherapy as first-line therapy.The objective response rate(ORR) and median progression-free survival(m PFS) of patients treated with TKIs in the uncommon mutation group was significantly inferior to that in the common mutation group(ORR: 23.3% vs.51.8%,P=0.003; m PFS:7.1 vs.10.9 months,P<0.001).In the uncommon group,m PFS was similar between first-line EGFR-TKIs treatment and platinum-based chemotherapy(7.1 vs.6.1 months,P=0.893).In patients with EGFR G719 X or L861 Q mutations,the m PFS was longer in the first-line EGFR-TKIs treatment group than in the chemotherapy group,but the difference was not statistically significant(G719 X: 8.2 vs.5.8 months,P=0.061; L861 Q: 7.6 vs.4.1 months,P=0.872).Multivariate analyses identified adenocarcinoma(P=0.003) as the independent predictive factor for PFS in patients with uncommon EGFR mutations who were treated with first-line EGFR-TKIs.Conclusions: The current study demonstrated that the effect of first-line EGFR-TKIs was similar to that of platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with uncommon EGFR-mutant NSCLC.Adenocarcinoma was the independent predictive factor for PFS in uncommon EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients treated with first-line EGFRTKIs. | Jinpeng Shi Hui Yang Tao Jiang Xuefei Li Chao Zhao Limin Zhang Sha Zhao Xiaozhen Liu Yijun Jia Yan Wang Lei Xi Shijia Zhang Chunxia Su Shengxiang Ren Caicun Zhou | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6: | 6 |

| 12 | Coriander Genomics Database:a genomic,transcriptomic,and metabolic database for coriander显示文摘Coriander(Coriandrum sativum L.),also known as cilantro,is a globally important vegetable and spice crop.Its genome and that of carrot are models for studying the evolution of the Apiaceae family.Here,we developed the Coriander Genomics Database(CGDB,http://gffzzc8ce0bd092c048a1h5b9f6k9nv56x6u96.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/)to collect,store,and integrate the genomic,transcriptomic,metabolic,functional annotation,and repeat sequence data of coriander and carrot to serve as a central online platform for Apiaceae and other related plants.Using these data sets in the CGDB,we intriguingly found that seven transcription factor(TF)families showed significantly greater numbers of members in the coriander genome than in the carrot genome.The highest ratio of the numbers of MADS TFs between coriander and carrot reached 3.15,followed by those for tubby protein(TUB)and heat shock factors.As a demonstration of CGDB applications,we identified 17 TUB family genes and conducted systematic comparative and evolutionary analyses.RNA-seq data deposited in the CGDB also suggest dose compensation effects of gene expression in coriander.CGDB allows bulk downloading,significance searches,genome browser analyses,and BLAST searches for comparisons between coriander and other plants regarding genomics,gene families,gene collinearity,gene expression,and the metabolome.A detailed user manual and contact information are also available to provide support to the scientific research community and address scientific questions.CGDB will be continuously updated,and new data will be integrated for comparative and functional genomic analysis in Apiaceae and other related plants. | Xiaoming Song Fulei Nie Wei Chen Xiao Ma Ke Gong Qihang Yang Jinpeng Wang Nan Li Pengchuan Sun Qiaoying Pei Tong Yu Jingjing Hu Xinyu Li Tong Wu Shuyan Feng Xiu-Qing Li Xiyin Wang | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 4 |
| 13 | Growth of covellite crystal onto azurite surface during sulfurization and its response to flotation behavior显示文摘In this work,the growth of copper sulfide crystal onto azurite surfaces during sulfurization and its response to flotation are investigated.Filed emission scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(FESEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) studies confirmed that the sulfurization of azurite is not limited to the mineral surface,but rather penetrates into the bulk to form covellite crystal(synCuS),creating favorable conditions for the stable adsorption of xanthate and greatly promoting the azurite flotation.Additionally,as demonstrated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry(TOF-SIMS) analyses,a redox reaction occurred during this process,and Cu(Ⅱ) onto the mineral surface was reduced to Cu(Ⅰ).Correspondingly,reduced S^(2-) was oxidized to(S_(2))^(2-),(S_n)^(-2),and even to deeper oxidation state S~0,(S_(x)O_(y))^(n-) and SO_(4)^(2-).Excess sodium sulfide strengthens copper sulfide to form onto the azurite surface,and provides enough raw material for crystal copper sulfide to grow,resulting in the formation of 'flake-like' covellite with a better crystallinity.However,the floatability of azurite decreased dramatically under this condition,because the generated massive colloidal copper sulfide in flotation pulp deteriorates the flotation environment,resulting in a decreased effective adsorption of collector onto azurite surfaces. | Jinpeng Cai Peilun Shen Dianwen Liu Xiaolin Zhang Jianjun Fang Chao Su Xingcai Yu Jiangli Li Han Wang | 2021 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6: | 4 |

| 15 | Effects of axial gap and nozzle distribution on aerodynamic forces of a supersonic partial-admission turbine显示文摘The turbine in an LH2/LOX rocket engine is designed as a two-stage supersonic partialadmission turbine. Three-dimensional steady and unsteady simulations were conducted to analyze turbine performance and aerodynamic forces on rotor blades. Different configurations were employed to investigate the effects of the axial gap and nozzle distribution on the predicted performance and aerodynamic forces. Rotor blades experience unsteady aerodynamic forces because of the partial admission. Aerodynamic forces show periodicity in the admission region, and are close to zero after leaving the admission region. The unsteady forces in frequency domain indicate that components exist in a wide frequency region, and the admission passing frequency is dominant.Those multiples of the rotational frequency which are multiples of the nozzle number in a fulladmission turbine are notable components. Results show that the turbine efficiency decreases as the axial gap between nozzles and the 1 st stage rotor(rotor 1) increases. Fluctuation of the circumferential aerodynamic force on rotor 1 blades decreases with the axial gap increasing. The turbine efficiency decreases as the circumferential spacing between nozzles increases. Fluctuations of the circumferential and axial aerodynamic forces increase as the circumferential spacing increases. | 18 | Reliability-aware automatic composition approach for web services显示文摘In this paper,we study the reliability-aware synthesis problem for composing available services automatically and guaranteeing that the composed result satisfies the specification,such as temporal constraints of functionality and reliability,centered on a synthesis model for mediator of web services composition (CSM).This approach focuses on handling attributes and state relations,and permitting users and services to operate over them,i.e.,read /write their data values and compare them according to a dense state order.We show that the reliability-aware synthesis problem for the specification is EXPTIME-complete and we give an exponential-time algorithm (CSM-NSA) which for a given formula ψ and a synthesis model,synthesizes available services in the library satisfying ψ over the synthesis model (if they exist) or responds with 'not satisfiable' (otherwise).The specification ψ is a fragment of PCTL (probabilistic computation tree logic),obtained from 'ordinary' CTL (computation tree logic) by replacing the EX,AX,EU and AU operation with their quantitative counterparts X >p,X =1,U >p,and U =1,respectively.As opposed to NSA,we provide a more effective algorithm to replace the NSA algorithm called CSM-HSA (heuristic synthesis algorithm).Though HSA is an incomplete algorithm,the answer is correct.The experiments show that the HSA algorithm solves the problem of reliability-aware service synthesis effectively and efficiently. | LI Mu LI Bo HUAI JinPeng | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,4: | 3 |
| 19 | (Ca,Sr,Ba)ZrO_(3):A promising entropy-stabilized ceramic for titanium alloys smelting显示文摘A novel entropy-stabilized(ES)(Ca,Sr,Ba)ZrO_(3) ceramic has been designed and synthesized by pressureless sintering of CaZr03,SrZr03 and BaZr03 powders mixtures at 1450℃,1500℃and 1550℃for 3 h.X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy analyses collectively indicate that a single solid solution is formed with a homogeneous distribution of metal elements after sintering at 1550℃.The relative density and hardness of the ES(Ca,Sr,Ba)ZrO_(3) ceramic sintered at 1550℃are 97.79%and 10.840.33 GPa,re s pectively.This ES(Ca,Sr,Ba)ZrO_(3) exhibits lower thermal conductivity from 373 K to 1073 K than their constituting zirconates,CaZrO_(3),SrZrO_(3) and BaZrO_(3).Most importantly,the ES(Ca,Sr,Ba)ZrO_(3) ceramic possesses good corrosion resistance to TiNi alloy melt and no distinct reaction layer exists between TiNi alloy and ES(Ca,Sr,Ba)ZrO_(3) ceramic in the contact region.The combination of these properties indicates that ES(Ca,Sr,Ba)ZrO_(3) ceramic is promising for use as a novel crucible material for the melting of titanium alloys. | Shuaihang Qiu Mingliang Li Gang Shao Hailong Wang Jinpeng Zhu Wen Liu Bingbing Fan Hongliang Xu Hongxia Lu Yanchun Zhou Rui Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,6: | 3 |
| 20 | Energetics characteristics of the super magnetic storm on November 20,2003 based on 3D global MHD simulation显示文摘The three-dimensional global magnetohydrodynamic model(PPM-LR MHD)is employed to investigate the energy budget in the solar wind-magnetosphere system during the super magnetic storm on November 20,2003,one of the biggest storms during the last decade with Dst^-500 n T.During this event,about 23%solar wind kinetic energy is transferred into the magnetosphere.The total energy input is estimated to be about 9.50×1017 J,about 14 times of a moderate storm.The energy dissipation via the inner magnetosphere is less than the energy input with the coupling efficiency of^63.3%.The energy dissipated via ring current injection is less than that via high-latitude ionosphere at the initial stage of the super storm.Furthermore,both the simulation results and the empirical results indicate that the ratio of ring current injection to the total energy output increases with the enhancement of the magnetospheric activity level.These are consistent with the statistical results we have got before.The empirical equations underestimate the solar wind kinetic energy,the energy input,and the energy dissipation via high-latitude ionosphere compared with the simulation results;however,the coupling efficiency of the high-latitude ionosphere(23.4%)is close to the simulation result(23.1%)during the entire storm time period. | HAN JinPeng WANG Chi LI Hui | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,12: | 3 |
