| 2 | Energy Efficient Access Point Selection and Signal Projection for Accurate Indoor Positioning显示文摘We propose a method to improve positioning accuracy while reducing energy consumption in an indoor Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) environment.First,we intelligently and jointly select the subset of Access Points(APs) used in positioning via Maximum Mutual Information(MMI) criterion.Second,we propose Orthogonal Locality Preserving Projection(OLPP) to reduce the redundancy among selected APs.OLPP effectively extracts the intrinsic location features in situations where previous linear signal projection techniques failed to do,while maintaining computational efficiency.Third,we show that the combination of AP selection and OLPP simultaneously exploits their complementary advantages while avoiding the drawbacks.Experimental results indicate that,compared with the widely used weighted K-nearest neighbor and maximum likelihood estimation method,the proposed method leads to 21.8%(0.49 m) positioning accuracy improvement,while decreasing the computation cost by 65.4%. | Deng Zhian Xu Yubin Ma Lin | 2012 | China Communications2012,9,2: | 4 |
| 3 | Sensing Time Optimization in Energy-Harvesting Cognitive Radio with Interference Rate Control显示文摘In this paper,an energy-harvesting cognitive radio(CR) is considered,which allows the transmitter of the secondary user(SU) to harvest the primary signal energy from the transmitter of the primary user(PU) when the presence of the PU is detected.Then the harvested energy is converted into the electrical power to supply the transmission of the SU at the detected absence of the PU.By adopting the periodic spectrum sensing,the average total transmission rate of the SU is maximized through optimizing the sensing time,subject to the constraints of the probabilities of false alarm and detection,the harvested energy and the interference rate control.The simulation results show that there deed exists an optimal sensing time that maximizes the transmission rate,and the maximum transmission rate of the energy-harvesting CR can better approach to that of the traditional CR with the increasing of the detection probability. | DENG Zhian LIU Xin JIA Min LU Weidang | 2016 | China Communications2016,13,1: | 3 |

| 9 | Evaluation of Summer Monsoon Clouds over the Tibetan Plateau Simulated in the ACCESS Model Using Satellite Products显示文摘Cloud distribution characteristics over the Tibetan Plateau in the summer monsoon period simulated by the Australian Community Climate and Earth System Simulator(ACCESS) model are evaluated using COSP [the CFMIP(Cloud Feedback Model Intercomparison Project) Observation Simulator Package]. The results show that the ACCESS model simulates less cumulus cloud at atmospheric middle levels when compared with observations from CALIPSO and CloudSat, but more ice cloud at high levels and drizzle drops at low levels. The model also has seasonal biases after the onset of the summer monsoon in May. While observations show that the prevalent high cloud at 9–10 km in spring shifts downward to 7–9 km,the modeled maximum cloud fractions move upward to 12–15 km. The reason for this model deficiency is investigated by comparing model dynamical and thermodynamical fields with those of ERA-Interim. It is found that the lifting effect of the Tibetan Plateau in the ACCESS model is stronger than in ERA-Interim, which means that the vertical velocity in the ACCESS model is stronger and more water vapor is transported to the upper levels of the atmosphere, resulting in more high-level ice clouds and less middle-level cumulus cloud over the Tibetan Plateau.
