BENDING OF FUNCTIONALLY GRADED PIEZOELECTRIC RECTANGULAR PLATES显示文摘By introducing two displacement functions as well as two stress functions, two independentstate equations with variable coefficients are derived from the three-dimensional theory equations of piezo-elasticity for transverse isotropy.A laminated approximation is used to transform the state equations to thosewith constant coefficients in each sub-layer.The bending problem of a functionally graded rectangular plate isthen analyzed based on the state equations.Numerical results are presented and the effect of material gradi-ent index is discussed.Chen Weiqiu Ding Haojiang 2000Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2000,13,4:37
Three-dimensional analytical solution for a transversely isotropic functionally graded piezoelectric circular plate subject to a uniform electric potential difference显示文摘This paper studies the problem of a functionally graded piezoelectric circular plate subjected to a uniform electric potential difference between the upper and lower surfaces. By assuming the generalized displacements in appropriate forms, five differential equations governing the generalized displacement functions are derived from the equilibrium equations. These displacement functions are then obtained in an explicit form, which still involve four undetermined integral constants, through a step-by-step integration which properly incorporates the boundary conditions at the upper and lower surfaces. The boundary conditions at the cylindrical surface are then used to determine the integral constants. Hence,three-dimen sional analytical solutions for electrically loaded functionally graded piezoelectric circular plates with free or simply-supported edge are completely determined. These solutions can account for an arbitrary material variation along the thickness, and thus can be readily degenerated into those for a homogenous plate. A numerical example is finally given to show the validity of the analysis, and the effect of material inhomogeneity on the elastic and electric fields is discussed.LI XiangYu DING HaoJiang CHEN WeiQiu 2008Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,8:13
THREE-DIMENSIONAL INTERACTIONS OF A HALF-PLANE CRACK IN A TRANSVERSELY ISOTROPIC PIEZOELECTRIC SPACE WITH RESULTANT SOURCES显示文摘Exact solutions in elementary functions are derived for the stress and electric dis-placement intensity factors of a half-plane crack in a transversely isotropic piezoelectric spaceinteracting with various resultant sources, including force dipole, electric dipole, moment, forcedilatation and rotation. Such force and charge sources may model defects like vacancies, foreignparticles and dislocations. The locations and orientations of the stress and charge sources withrespect to the crack are arbitrary.Hou Pengfei Pan Xiaoping Ding Haojiang 2005Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2005,18,3:3
INDENTATION OF A TRANSVERSELY ISOTROPIC PIEZOELECTRIC HALF-SPACE BY A RIGID SPHERE显示文摘This paper exactly analyzes the problem of a rigid sphere indenting a transversely isotropicpiezoelectric half-space.The potential theory method is employed and generalized to include the piezoelec-tric effect.By using the previous results of elasticity,an exact solution is derived. It is found that all theelastoelectric variables can be expressed in terms of elementary functions.Chen Weiqiu Ding Haojiang 1999Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica1999,12,2:3
A THEORETICAL SOLUTION OF CYLINDRICALLY ISOTROPIC CYLINDRICAL TUBE FOR AXISYMMETRIC PLANE STRAIN DYNAMIC THERMOELASTIC PROBLEM显示文摘A dynamic thermoelastic solution of a cylindrically isotropic cylindrical tube or solid cylinderwith axisymmetric plane deformations is developed.Since there exist thermal boundary conditions and trac-tions on the two surfaces of a cylindrical tube, the problem under consideration is with inhomogeneous bound-ary conditions. Therefore we introduce a special function to transform the inhomogeneous boundary conditionsto homogeneous ones for an unknown function. Then by using the method of separation of variables, the un-known function can be expressed as the multiplication series of Bessel functions and unknown time functions.Thirdly,by virtue of the orthogonal properties of Bessel functions, the equations about these unknown timefunctions are derived and the solutions are obtained. Finally, the displacement is obtained by adding the twoparts mentioned above.By means of the present method, integral transform can be avoided. It is suitable forarbitrary thermal loads and mechanical loads.Numerical results are also presented for thermal shocked,cy-lindrically isotropic cylindrical tube and solid cylinder.Ding Haojiang Wang Huiming Chen Weiqiu 2001Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2001,14,4:3
FREE AXISYMMETRIC VIBRATION OF TRANSVERSELY ISOTROPIC LAMINATED CIRCULAR PLATES显示文摘Based on the three dimensionai elastic theory, the state equation of the axisymmetricfree vibration of transversely isotropic circular plates is established.Taking the advantage of finiteHankel transform, two exact solutions are derived for two boundary conditions,i.e.the rigid-slippingboundary and elastic simply supported boundary. Finally, numerical results are presented and com-pared with those of FEM.Ding Haojiang Xu Rongqiao Chen Weiqiu 1998Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica1998,11,3:2
EXACT SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF A HALF-PLANE CRACK IN A TRANSVERSELY ISOTROPIC PIEZOELECTRIC BODY SUBJECTED TO ANTISYMMETRIC TANGENTIAL POINT FORCES显示文摘An exact and complete solution of the problem of a half-plane crack in an infinite transversely isotropic piezoelectric body is presented. The upper and lower crack faces are assumed to be loaded antisymmetrically by a couple of tangential point forces in opposite directions. The solution is derived through a limiting procedure from that of a penny-shaped crack. The expressions for the electroelastic field are given in terms of elementary functions. Finally, the numerical results of the second and third mode stress intensity factors k2 and k3 of piezoelectric materials and elastic materials are compared in figures.Hou Pengfei Ding Haojiang Guan Fuling (Department of Civil Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China) 2001Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2001,14,2:2

Several three-dimensional solutions for transversely isotropic functionally graded material plate welded with circular inclusion显示文摘The problem of a transversely isotropic functionally graded material(FGM)plate welded with a circular inclusion is considered. The analysis starts with the generalized England-Spencer plate theory for transversely isotropic FGM plates, which expresses a three-dimensional(3D) general solution in terms of four analytic functions.Several analytical solutions are then obtained for an infinite FGM plate welded with a circular inclusion and subjected to the loads at infinity.Three different cases are considered,i.e.,a rigid circular inclusion fixed in the space,a rigid circular inclusion rotating about the x-,y-,and 2-axes,and an elastic circular inclusion with different material constants from the plate itself. The static responses of the plate and/or the inclusion are investigated through numerical examples.Bo YANG Weiqiu CHEN Haojiang DING 2016Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2016,37,6:1

ON THE FREE VIBRATION OF A SUBMERGED FGM HOLLOW SPHERE显示文摘The free vibration of a functionally graded material hollow sphere submerged in a compress-ible fluid medium is exactly analyzed. The sphere is assumed to be spherically isotropic with material consta-nts being inhomogeneous along the radial direction.By employing a separation technique as well as thespherical harmonics expansion method, the governing equations are simplified to an uncoupled second-orderordinary differential equation, and a coupled system of two such equations.Solutions to these equations aregiven when the elastic constants and the mass density are power functions of the radial coordinate.Numericalexamples are finaUy given to show the effect of the material gradient on the natural frequencies.Ye Guiru Chen Weiqiu Cai Jinbiao Ding Haojiang 2000Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2000,13,3:1
