| 2 | A Sensorless State Estimation for A Safety-Oriented Cyber-Physical System in Urban Driving:Deep Learning Approach显示文摘In today's modern electric vehicles,enhancing the safety-critical cyber-physical system(CPS)'s performance is necessary for the safe maneuverability of the vehicle.As a typical CPS,the braking system is crucial for the vehicle design and safe control.However,precise state estimation of the brake pressure is desired to perform safe driving with a high degree of autonomy.In this paper,a sensorless state estimation technique of the vehicle's brake pressure is developed using a deep-learning approach.A deep neural network(DNN)is structured and trained using deep-learning training techniques,such as,dropout and rectified units.These techniques are utilized to obtain more accurate model for brake pressure state estimation applications.The proposed model is trained using real experimental training data which were collected via conducting real vehicle testing.The vehicle was attached to a chassis dynamometer while the brake pressure data were collected under random driving cycles.Based on these experimental data,the DNN is trained and the performance of the proposed state estimation approach is validated accordingly.The results demonstrate high-accuracy brake pressure state estimation with RMSE of 0.048 MPa. | Mohammad Al-Sharman David Murdoch Dongpu Cao Chen Lv Yahya Zweiri Derek Rayside William Melek | 2021 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2021,8,1: | 3 |
| 3 | Self-Healing Liquid Metal Magnetic Hydrogels for Smart Feedback Sensors and High-Performance Electromagnetic Shielding显示文摘Hydrogels exhibit potential applications in smart wearable devices because of their exceptional sensitivity to various external stimuli.However,their applications are limited by challenges in terms of issues in biocompatibility,custom shape,and self-healing.Herein,a conductive,stretchable,adaptable,self-healing,and biocompatible liquid metal GaInSn/Ni-based composite hydrogel is developed by incorporating a magnetic liquid metal into the hydrogel framework through crosslinking polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)with sodium tetraborate.The excellent stretchability and fast self-healing capability of the PVA/liquid metal hydrogel are derived from its abundant hydrogen binding sites and liquid metal fusion.Significantly,owing to the magnetic constituent,the PVA/liquid metal hydrogel can be guided remotely using an external magnetic field to a specific position to repair the broken wires with no need for manual operation.The composite hydrogel also exhibits sensitive deformation responses and can be used as a strain sensor to monitor various body motions.Additionally,the multifunctional hydrogel displays absorption-dominated electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding properties.The total shielding performance of the composite hydrogel increases to~62.5 dB from~31.8 dB of the pure PVA hydrogel at the thickness of 3.0 mm.The proposed bioinspired multifunctional magnetic hydrogel demonstrates substantial application potential in the field of intelligent wearable devices. | Biao Zhao Zhongyi Bai Hualiang Lv Zhikai Yan Yiqian Du Xiaoqin Guo Jincang Zhang Limin Wu Jiushuai Deng David Wei Zhang Renchao Che | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,6: | 3 |
| 4 | A Level Set Immersed Boundary Method for Water Entry and Exit显示文摘The interaction between free surface flow and structure is investigated using a new level set immersed boundary method.The incorporation of an improved immersed boundary method with a free surface capture scheme implemented in a Navier-Stokes solver allows the interaction between fluid flow with free surface and moving body/bodies of almost arbitrary shape to be modelled.A new algorithm is proposed to locate exact forcing points near solid boundaries,which provides an accurate numerical solution.The discretized linear system of the Poisson pressure equation is solved using the Generalized Minimum Residual(GMRES)method with incomplete LU preconditioning.Uniform flow past a cylinder at Reynolds number Re=100 is modelled using the present model and results agree well with the experiment and numerical data in the literature.Water exit and entry of a cylinder at the prescribed velocity is also investigated.The predicted slamming coefficient is in good agreement with experimental data and previous numerical simulations using a ComFlow model.The vertical slamming force and pressure distribution for the free falling wedge is also studied by the present model and comparisons with available theoretical solutions and experimental data are made. | Yali Zhang Qingping Zou Deborah Greaves Dominic Reeve Alison Hunt-Raby David Graham Phil James Xin Lv | 2010 | Communications in Computational Physics2010,8,7: | 2 |

| 6 | Patterning the neuronal cells via inkjet printing of self-assembled peptides on silk scaffolds显示文摘The patterning of neuronal cells and guiding neurite growth are important for neuron tissue engineering and cell-based biosensors. In this paper, inkjet printing has been employed to pattern self-assembled I_3 QGK peptide nanofibers on silk substrates for guiding the growth of neuron-like PC12 cells. Atomic force microscopy(AFM)confirmed the dynamic self-assembly of I_3 QGK into nanofiber structures. The printed self-assembled peptide strongly adheres to regenerated silk fibroin(RSF) substrates through charge-charge interactions. It was observed that in the absence of I_3 QGK, PC12 cells exhibited poor attachment to RSF films, while for RSF surfaces coated or printed with peptide nanofibers, cellular attachment was significantly improved in terms of both cell density and morphology. AFM results revealed that peptide nanofibers can promote the generation of axons and terminal buttons of PC12 cells, indicating that I_3 QGK nanofibers not only promote cellular attachment but also facilitate differentiation into neuronal phenotypes. Inkjet printing allows complex patterning of peptide nanofibers onto RSF substrates, which enabled us to engineer cell alignment and provide an opportunity to direct axonal development in vitro. | 7 | Development,validation and comparison of multivariable risk scores for prediction of total stroke and stroke types in Chinese adults:a prospective study of 0.5 million adults显示文摘Background and purpose Low-income and middle-income countries have the greatest stroke burden,yet remain understudied.This study compared the utility of Framingham versus novel risk scores for prediction of total stroke and stroke types in Chinese adults.Methods China Kadoorie Biobank(CKB)is a prospective study of 512726 adults,aged 30-79 years,recruited from 10 areas in China in 2004-2008.By 1 January 2018,43234 incident first stroke cases(36310 ischaemic stroke(IS);8865 haemorrhagic stroke(HS))were recorded in 503842 participants with no history of stroke at baseline.We compared the predictive utility of the Framingham Stroke Risk Profile(FSRP)with novel CKB stroke risk scores and included recalibration,refitting,stratifying by study area and addition of other risk factors.Discrimination was assessed using area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)and calibration was assessed using Greenwood-Nam-D’Agostinoχ^(2) statistics.Results Incidence of total stroke varied fivefold by area in China.The FSRP had good discrimination for total stroke(AUC(95%CI);men:0.78(0.77 to 0.79),women:0.77(95%CI 0.76 to 0.78)),but poor calibration(χ^(2);men:1,825,women:3,053),substantially underestimating absolute risks.Recalibration reducedχ^(2) by>80%,but did not improve discrimination.Refitting the FSRP did not materially improve discrimination,but further improved calibration.Stratification by area improved discrimination(AUC;men:0.82(0.82 to 0.83);women:0.82(0.82 to 0.83)),but not calibration.Adding other risk factors yielded modest,but statistically significant,improvements in the AUCs.The findings for IS and HS were similar to those for total stroke.Conclusions The FSRP reliably differentiated Chinese adults with incident stroke,but substantially underestimated the absolute risks of stroke.Novel local risk prediction equations that took account of differences in stroke incidence within China enhanced risk prediction of total stroke and major stroke pathological types. | Matthew Chun Robert Clarke Tingting Zhu David Clifton Derrick A Bennett Yiping Chen Yu Guo Pei Pei Jun Lv Canqing Yu Ling Yang Liming Li Zhengming Chen Benjamin J Cairns 无 | 2022 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,4: | 1 |
