| 3 | Effects of methylphenidate on resting-state brain activity in normal adults: an fMRI study显示文摘Methylphenidate (MPH) is one of the most commonly used stimulants for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Although several studies have evaluated the effects of MPH on human brain activation during specific cognitive tasks using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), few studies have focused on spontaneous brain activity. In the current study, we investigated the effect of MPH on the intra-regional synchronization of spontaneous brain activity during the resting state in 18 normal adult males. A handedness questionnaire and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale were applied before medication, and a resting-state fMRI scan was obtained 1 h after medication (20 mg MPH or placebo, order counterbalanced between participants). We demonstrated that: (1) there were no significant differences in the performance of behavioral tasks between the MPH and placebo groups; (2) the left middle and superior temporal gyri had stronger MPH-related regional homogeneity (ReHo); and (3) the left lingual gyrus had weaker MPH-related ReHo. Our findings showed that the ReHo in some brain areas changes with MPH compared to placebo in normal adults, even though there are no behavioral differences. First, mathematical model of impulsive noise is presented because it has non-Gaussian nature and is found in many wireless channels due to impulsive phenomena of radio-frequency interference. Then, with linear Log-MAP decoding algorithm for its low complexity, Turbo-Codes are adopted and analyzed in such communication channels. To confirm the performance of the proposed method, simulations on both static and fully interleaved flat Rayleigh fading channels with impulsive noise have been carried out. We used air oxidation to self-polymerize dopamine(DOPA) to ensure that the PPTA powder was coated. Our results indicate that the modified surface of PPTA powder enhances compatibility with the polymer matrix without damaging its structure. Additionally, it is possible to control the coating thickness of PDOPA by regulating the reaction time. | 9 | Preparation and evaluation of an enzymatic microreactor based on HILIC matrix for digestion and identification of proteins显示文摘In the present study,a new enzymatic microreactor is developed by immobilizing trypsin on the matrix-HILIC (hydrophilic interaction chromatography).The influences of different types of buffer solutions (borate,Tris·HCl,and phosphate),their concentrations and pH values on the immobilizing rate and the activity of immobilized trypsin were investigated.The optimal condition for off-line immobilization of trypsin on matix-HILIC was Tris·HCl buffer (20 mmol/L,pH 8.0),and then,under the optimal condition,an enzymatic microreactor was prepared by trypsin dynamically immobilized on HILIC matrix which was packed in a Peeksil column.It can be found that the microreactor possessed high hydrolytic activity according to the hydrolysis results of N-α-benzoyl-DL-arginine P-nitroanilide (BAPNA),a substrate of trypsin.Moreover,bovine serum albumin (BSA),cytochrome C and myoglobin as standard proteins were chosen to characterize the enzymolysis of the microreactor demonstrating the high enzymolysis efficiency by this enzymatic microreactor.Besides,the deactivated trypsin can be easily eluted from the matrix-HILIC to re-immobilize trysin,which is highly cost-effective in the experiment.All the results show that the new enzymatic microreactor associated with HPLC-MS techniques can realize online enzymolysis of proteins,and the time to analyze and identify the proteins is greatly shortened. | WANG ShanShan LI Qin LU XueFei LIU Tong ZHANG WeiBo GENG LiNa DENG YuLin | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,10: | 0 |
| 10 | Venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for COVID-19 and influenza H1N1 associated acute respiratory distress syndrome:A comparative cohort study in China显示文摘Background Venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(VV-ECMO)has been demonstrated to be effective in treating patients with virus-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).However,whether the management of ECMO is different in treating H1N1 influenza and coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)-associated ARDS patients remains unknown.Methods This is a retrospective cohort study.We included 12 VV-ECMO-supported COVID-19 patients admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University,Guangzhou Eighth People's Hospital,and Wuhan Union Hospital West Campus between January 23 and March 31,2020.We retrospectively included VV-ECMO-supported patients with COVID-19 and H1N1 influenza-associated ARDS.Clinical characteristics,respiratory mechanics including plateau pressure,driving pressure,mechanical power,ventilatory ratio(VR)and lung compliance,and outcomes were compared.Results Data from 25 patients with COVID-19(n=12)and H1N1(n=13)associated ARDS who had received ECMO support were analyzed.COVID-19 patients were older than H1N1 influenza patients(P=0.004).The partial pressure of arterial carbon dioxide(PaCO_(2))and VR before ECMO initiation were significantly higher in COVID-19 patients than in H1N1 influenza patients(P<0.001 and P=0.004,respectively).COVID-19 patients showed increased plateau and driving pressure compared with H1N1 subjects(P=0.013 and P=0.018,respectively).Patients with COVID-19 remained longer on ECMO support than did H1N1 influenza patients(P=0.015).COVID-19 patients who required ECMO support also had fewer intensive care unit and ventilator-free days than H1N1.Conclusions Compared with H1N1 influenza patients,COVID-19 patients were older and presented with increased PaCO_(2) and VR values before ECMO initiation.The differences between ARDS patients with COVID-19 and influenza on VV-ECMO detailed herein could be helpful for obtaining a better understanding of COVID-19 and for better clinical management. | Yonghao Xu Yin Xi Shuijiang Cai Yuheng Yu Sibei Chen Weijie Guan Weibo Liang Hongkai Wu Weiqun He Xilong Deng Yuanda Xu Rong Zhang Manshu Li Jieyi Pan Zhenting Liang Ya Wang Shaofeng Kong Xiaoqing Liu Zheng Lv Yimin Li | 2023 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2023,3,4: | 0 |
