Overexpression of the maize GRF10, an endogenous truncated growth-regulating factor protein, leads to reduction in leaf size and plant height显示文摘It has long been thought that growth‐regulating factors(GRFs) gene family members act as transcriptional activators to play important roles in multiple plant developmental processes. However, the recent characterization of Arabidopsis GRF7 showed that it functions as a transcriptional repressor of osmotic stress‐responsive genes. This highlights the complex and diverse mechanisms by which different GRF members use to take action. In this study, the maize(Zea mays L.) GRF10 was functionally characterized to improve this concept. The deduced ZmGRF10 protein retains the N‐terminal QLQ and WRC domains, the characteristic regions as protein‐interacting and DNA‐binding domains, respectively. However,it lacks nearly the entire C‐terminal domain, the regions executing transactivation activity. Consistently, ZmGRF10 protein maintains the ability to interact with GRF‐interacting factors(GIFs) proteins, but lacks transactivation activity.Overexpression of ZmGRF10 in maize led to a reduction in leaf size and plant height through decreasing cell proliferation, whereas the yield‐related traits were not affected. Transcriptome analysis revealed that multiple biological pathways were affected by ZmGRF10 overexpression, including a few transcriptional regulatory genes, which have been demonstrated to have important roles in controlling plant growth and development. We propose that ZmGRF10 aids in fine‐tuning the homeostasis of the GRF‐GIF complex in the regulation of cell proliferation.Lei Wu Dengfeng Zhang Ming Xue Jianjun Qian Yan He Shoucai Wang 2014Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2014,56,11:31

Electronic Skin from High-Throughput Fabrication of Intrinsically Stretchable Lead Zirconate Titanate Elastomer显示文摘Electronic skin made of thin, soft, stretchable devices that can mimic the human skin and reconstruct the tactile sensation and perception offers great opportunities for prosthesis sensing, robotics controlling, and human-machine interfaces.Advanced materials and mechanics engineering of thin film devices has proven to be an efficient route to enable and enhance flexibility and stretchability of various electronic skins;however, the density of devices is still low owing to the limitation in existing fabrication techniques. Here,we report a high-throughput one-step process to fabricate large tactile sensing arrays with a sensor density of 25 sensors/cm^(2) for electronic skin, where the sensors are based on intrinsically stretchable piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate(PZT)elastomer. The PZT elastomer sensor arrays with great uniformity and passive-driven manner enable highresolution tactile sensing, simplify the data acquisition process, and lower the manufacturing cost. The high-throughput fabrication process provides a general platform for integrating intrinsically stretchable materials into large area, high device density soft electronics for the next-generation electronic skin.Yiming Liu Huanxi Zheng Ling Zhao Shiyuan Liu Kuanming Yao Dengfeng Li Chunki Yiu Shenghan Gao Raudel Avila Pakpong Chirarattananon Lingqian Chang Zuankai Wang Xian Huang Zhaoqian Xie Zhengbao Yang Xinge Yu 2020Research2020,,1:11
Tread Wear and Footprint Geometrical Characters of Truck Bus Radial Tires显示文摘Wear and mileage performance are the foremost performances for truck bus radial (TBR) tires. There are a lot of researches about the tire wear performance as well as the contact patch phenomenon by using finite element analysis (FEA) method or testing. But there is little published data on the correlations between the footprint geometry and the tread wear performance of tires. In this paper, an experiment on tire-ground performance of TBR tires is carried out by using Tekscan. The real-time changes of contact-area pressure distribution that occurred during the process of continuous load and unload are recorded. Three types of tires that act differently in behavior under normal usage are analyzed. A new method of researching in tire tread wear, which focuses on the geometrical characters of the footprint, is put forward. The experimental results of the three tires are described by using footprint geometrical characters. On the basis of studying the changing laws of footprint geometrical characters during the loading process and considering consumer survey and factory feedback information, the correlations between the geometrical character of footprints and tread destruction form are built. The analyzed results show that a greater contact area coefficient and a steady coefficient of contact result in a better wear performance for TBR tires. The footprint-shape coefficient changing laws in the process of loading are found to have a very good coincidence with the tread wear of the three types of tires. Tires with a smaller footprint-shape coefficient are likely to have an average tread wear while avoiding the shoulder wear first. The proposed research provides a new solution to predict tire-ground performance at the point of footprint and several useful references for improving tire design.LIANG Chen WANG Guolin AN Dengfeng MA Yinwei 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,3:11

Formation of coherent, core-shelled nano-particles in dilute Al-Sc-Zr alloys from the first-principles显示文摘We present a systematic first-principles based study on the formation of coherent L12-phase nanoparticles in dilute Al-Sc-Zr alloys.Bulk structures and properties, solute substitution, interface formation energies, and interfacial coherent strains are all calculated.Nucleation modeling and relevant energetic calculations are performed on various possible structures of L12-phase nano-precipitates,i.e.individual L12-Al3Sc and L12-Al3Zr,homogeneous L12-Al3(ScxZr1-x)and the core-shelled L12-Al3Sc(Al3Zr)and L12-Al3Zr(Al3Sc).The following insights are obtained.Matrix-dissolved Sc or Zr strongly prefers to substitute the X sublattice sites in L12-Al3X(X=Zr or Sc),while the inter-substitution between L12-Al3Sc and Al3Zr is only weakly feasible. The cube-on-cube orientation with the(100)/(100)contacting facets is the most energy favored for the Al/Al3Sc(L12),Al/Al3Zr(L12)and Al3Sc(L12)/Al3Zr(L12)interfaces.All these interfaces are highly coherent, with fairly low formation energy. And particularly, the Al3Sc(L12)/Al3Zr(L12)interface has essentially zero formation energy.Ternary L12-Al3(ScxZr1-x)precipitates tend to form a Al3Sc-based core and Al3Zr-based shell structure, with a relatively sharp inner interface of Al3Sc(L12)/Al3Zr(L12).This core-shelled structure becomes energetically more favorable for the particle size R>1–2 nm.The potential influence of the Sc/Zr ratio and temperature on the relative stabilities of L12-phases in Al is also evaluated and discussed.Chaomin Zhang Yong Jiang Fuhua Cao Tao Hu Yiren Wang Dengfeng Yin 2019Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,5:8
Carbody Structural Lightweighting Based on Implicit Parameterized Model显示文摘Most of recent research on carbody lightweighting has focused on substitute material and new processing technologies rather than structures. However, new materials and processing techniques inevitably lead to higher costs. Also, material substitution and processing lightweighting have to be realized through body structural profiles and locations. In the huge conventional workload of lightweight optimization, model modifications involve heavy manual work, and it always leads to a large number of iteration calculations. As a new technique in carbody lightweighting, the implicit parameterization is used to optimize the carbody structure to improve the materials utilization rate in this paper. The implicit parameterized structural modeling enables the use of automatic modification and rapid multidisciplinary design optimization(MDO)in carbody structure, which is impossible in the traditional structure finite element method(FEM)without parameterization. The structural SFE parameterized model is built in accordance with the car structural FE model in concept development stage, and it is validated by some structural performance data. The validated SFE structural parameterized model can be used to generate rapidly and automatically FE model and evaluate different design variables group in the integrated MDO loop. The lightweighting result of body-in-white(BIW)after the optimization rounds reveals that the implicit parameterized model makes automatic MDO feasible and can significantly improve the computational efficiency of carbody structural lightweighting. This paper proposes the integrated method of implicit parameterized model and MDO,which has the obvious practical advantage and industrial significance in the carbody structural lightweighting design.CHEN Xin MA Fangwu WANG Dengfeng XIE Chen 2014Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2014,27,3:7
Atlas Based Kinematic Optimum Design of the Stewart Parallel Manipulator显示文摘Optimum design is a key approach to make full use of potential advantages of a parallel manipulator. The optimum design of multi-parameter parallel manipulators(more than three design parameters), such as Stewart manipulator, relies on analysis based and algorithm based optimum design methods, which fall to be accurate or intuitive. To solve this problem and achieve both accurate and intuition, atlas based optimum design of a general Stewart parallel manipulator is established, with rational selection of design parameters. Based on the defined spherical usable workspace(SUW), primary kinematic performance indices of the Stewart manipulator, involving workspace and condition number are introduced and analyzed. Then, corresponding performance atlases are drawn with the established non-dimensional design space, and impact of joint distribution angles on the manipulator performance is analyzed and illustrated. At last, an example on atlas based optimum design of the Stewart manipulator is accomplished to illustrate the optimum design process, considering the end-effector posture. Deduced atlases can be flexibly applied to both quantitative and qualitative analysis to get the desired optimal design for the Stewart manipulator with respect to related performance requirements. Besides, the established optimum design method can be further applied to other multi-parameter parallel manipulators.SHAO Zhufeng TANG Xiaoqiang WANG Liping SUN Dengfeng 2015Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2015,28,1:6
Cloning and characterization of a novel R1-MYB transcription factor in maize显示文摘R1-MYB transcription regulatory factors play vital roles in transcriptional modification during higher plant metabolism and development. In the present study, an R1-MYB gene was isolated from the maize (Zea mays L.) inbred line C8605-2 based on expressed sequence tags (ESTs), which expressed differentially between the hybrid C8605-2 × W1445 and its two parents in an oligonucleotide microarray. The full-length cDNA, designated as ZmMYBE1 (GeneBank Accession No. FJ024049), consists of 1992 nucleotides and contains a 1296-bp open reading frame. One conserved MYB domain was detected near the N-terminus of the deduced amino acid sequence, where an acidic Ser/Thr-rich area was also observed in the downstream region. The sequence of ZmMYBE1, mapped to chromosome 5 (bin 5.03), was revealed belonging to a multi-gene family in the maize genome. Subcellular localization analysis determined that ZmMYBE1 was located in the nucleus. Expression analysis showed that ZmMYBE1 transcripts accumulated in various tissues examined, with high expression levels in the immature ear and low levels in the tassel, root, and stem. The expression analysis for ZmMYBE1 in immature ears showed the highest expression level at the earliest vegetative developmental stage of the plant. Expression of ZmMYBE1 higher than that of the parents was observed in the hybrid C8605-2 × W1445. And also the expression level similar to the lowest of the parents in the hybrid C8605-2 × W245 was observed, revealing different expression patterns for the same gene in various hybrids combined from diversified inbred lines. Transgenic Arabidopsis overexpressing ZmMYBE1 implies that ZmMYBE1 has an important role in developmental regulation in maize.Guanqing Jia, Bo Li, Dengfeng Zhang, Tifu Zhang, Zhiyong Li, Jingrui Dai, Shoucai Wang* National Maize Improvement Center of China, Key Laboratory of Crop Genomics and Genetic Improvement of Agriculture Ministry, Department of Plant Genetics & Breeding, China Agricultural University, Beijing 100193, China 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,9:6
Fine Mapping of RppP25, a Southern Rust Resistance Gene in Maize显示文摘Southern rust (Puccinia polysora Underw.) is a major disease that can cause severe yield losses in maize (Zea mays L.). In our previous study, a major gene RppP25 that confers resistance to southern rust was identified in inbred line P25. Here, we report the fine mapping and candidate gene analysis of RppP25 from the near-isogenic line F939, which harbors RppP25 in the genetic background of the susceptible inbred line F349. The inheritance of resistance to southern rust was investigated in the BC1F1 and BC3F1 populations, which were derived from a cross between F939 and F349 (as the recurrent parent). The 1:1 segregation ratio of resistance to susceptible plants in these two populations indicated that the resistance is controlled by a single dominant gene. Ten markers, including three simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers and seven insertion/deletion (InDel) markers, were developed in the RppP25 region. RppP25 was delimited to an interval between P091 and M271, with an estimated length of 40 kb based on the physical map of B73. In this region, a candidate gene was identified that was predicted to encode a putative nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat (NBS-LRR) protein. Two co-segregated markers will aid in pyramiding diverse southern rust resistance alleles into elite materials, and thereby improve southern rust resistance worldwide.Panfeng Zhao Guobin Zhang Xiaojun Wu Na Li Dianyi Shi Dengfeng Zhang Chunfang Ji Mingliang Xu Shoucai Wang 2013Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2013,55,5:5
Simulation on a Car Interior Aerodynamic Noise Control Based on Statistical Energy Analysis显示文摘How to simulate interior aerodynamic noise accurately is an important question of a car interior noise reduction. The unsteady aerodynamic pressure on body surfaces is proved to be the key effect factor of car interior aerodynamic noise control in high frequency on high speed. In this paper, a detail statistical energy analysis (SEA) model is built. And the vibra-acoustic power inputs are loaded on the model for the valid result of car interior noise analysis. The model is the solid foundation for further optimization on car interior noise control. After the most sensitive subsystems for the power contribution to car interior noise are pointed by SEA comprehensive analysis, the sound pressure level of car interior aerodynamic noise can be reduced by improving their sound and damping characteristics. The further vehicle testing results show that it is available to improve the interior acoustic performance by using detailed SEA model, which comprised by more than 80 subsystems, with the unsteady aerodynamic pressure calculation on body surfaces and the materials improvement of sound/damping properties. It is able to acquire more than 2 dB reduction on the central frequency in the spectrum over 800 Hz. The proposed optimization method can be looked as a reference of car interior aerodynamic noise control by the detail SEA model integrated unsteady computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and sensitivity analysis of acoustic contribution.CHEN Xin WANG Dengfeng MA Zhengdong 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,5:5
Robust H_∞ guaranteed cost satisfactory fault-tolerant control for discrete-time systems with quadratic D stabilizability显示文摘The problem of robust H∞ guaranteed cost satisfactory fault-tolerant control with quadratic D stabilizability against actuator failures is investigated for a class of discrete-time systems with value-bounded uncertainties existing in both the state and control input matrices.Based on a more practical and general model of actuator continuous gain failures, taking the transient property, robust behaviour on H∞ performance and quadratic cost performance requirements into consideration, sufficient conditions for the existence of satisfactory fault-tolerant controller are given and the effective design steps with constraints of multiple performance indices are provided.Meanwhile, the consistency of the regional pole index,H∞ norm-bound constraint and cost performance indices is set up for fault-tolerant control.A simulation example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.Xiaodong Han Jiangong Liu Dexiao Xie Dengfeng Zhang Zhiquan Wang 2010Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2010,21,3:5

Generation and characterization of stable pig pregastrulation epiblast stem cell lines显示文摘Pig epiblast-derived pluripotent stem cells are considered to have great potential and broad prospects for human therapeutic model developme nt and livestock breeding.Despite on going attempts since the 1990s,no stably defined pig epiblast-derived stem cell line has bee n established. Here, guided by in sights from a large-scale sin gle-cell tran scriptome an alysis of pig embryos from embryonic day(E)0 to E14,specifically,the tracing of pluripotency changes during epiblast development,we developed an in vitro culture medium for establishing and maintaining stable pluripotent stem cell lines from pig E10 pregastrulation epiblasts(pgEpiSCs).Enabled by chemical inhibition of WNT-related signaling in combination with growth factors in the FGF/ERK,JAK/STAT3,and Activin/Nodal pathways,pgEpiSCs maintain their pluripotency transcriptome features, similar to those of E10 epiblast cells, and normal karyotypes after more than 240 passages and have the potential to differentiate into three germ layers.Strikingly, ultradeep in situ Hi-C analysis revealed functional impacts of chromatin 3D-spatial associations on the transcriptional regulation of pluripote ncy marker genes in pgEpiSCs.I n practice,we con firmed that pgEpiSCs readily tolerate at least three rounds of successive gene editi ng and gene rated cloned gen e-edited live piglets. Our findings deliver on the long-a nticipated promise of pig pluripote nt stem cells and open new avenues for biological research, animal husbandry, and regenerative biomedicine.Minglei Zhi Jinying Zhang Qianzi Tang Dawei Yu Shuai Gao Dengfeng Gao Pengliang Liu Jianxiong Guo Tang Hai Jie Gao Suying Cao Zimo Zhao Chongyang Li Xiaogang Weng Mengnan He Tianzhi Chen Yingjie Wang Keren Long Deling Jiao Guanglei Li Jiaman Zhang Yan Liu Yu Lin Daxin Pang Qianqian Zhu Naixin Chen Jingjing Huang Xinze Chen Yixuan Yao Jingcang Yang Zicong Xie Xianya Huang Mengxin Liu Ran Zhang Qiuyan Li Yiliang Miao Jianhui Tian Xingxu Huang Hongsheng Ouyang Bofeng Liu Wei Xie Qi Zhou Zhonghua Liu Caihong Zheng Mingzhou Li Jianyong Han 2022Cell Research2022,32,4:3
Micro-rocket robot with all-optic actuating and tracking in blood显示文摘Micro/nanorobots have long been expected to reach all parts of the human body through blood vessels for medical treatment or surgery. However,in the current stage,it is still challenging to drive a microrobot in viscous media at high speed and difficult to observe the shape and position of a single microrobot once it enters the bloodstream. Here,we propose a new micro-rocket robot and an all-optic driving and imaging system that can actuate and track it in blood with microscale resolution. To achieve a high driving force,we engineer the microrobot to have a rocket-like tripletube structure.Owing to the interface design, the 3D-printed micro-rocket can reach a moving speed of 2.8 mm/s(62 body lengths per second)under near-infrared light actuation in a blood-mimicking viscous glycerol solution. We also show that the micro-rocket robot is successfully tracked at a 3.2-μm resolution with an optical-resolution photoacoustic microscope in blood. This work paves the way for microrobot design, actuation, and tracking in the blood environment, which may broaden the scope of microrobotic applications in the biomedical field.Dengfeng Li Chao Liu Yuanyuan Yang Lidai Wang Yajing Shen 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:3
Controlled fabrication, lasing behavior and excitonic recombination dynamics in single crystal CH3NH3PbBr3 perovskite cuboids显示文摘As a direct bandgap semiconductor, organic-inorganic lead halide perovskite (MAPbX3, MA = CH3NH3, X =Cl, Br, I) have been considered as promising materials for laser due to their excellent optoelectronic properties. The perovskite materials with ID and 2D shapes were widely prepared and studied for Fabry-Perot mode and whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) microcavities, but cuboid-shape is rarely reported. In this work, we successfully fabricated single crystal cuboid-shaped MAPbBr3 perovskite w让h different morphologies, named microcuboid-MAPbBr3 (M-MAPbBr3) and multi-step-MAPbBr3 (MSMAPbBr3), via solvothermal method. Furthermore, the as-prepared *crystals excitonic recombination lifetime under different pumping energy density was studied by time-resolved photoiuminescence (TRPL). Based on controllable morphology and remarkable lasing properties, these cuboid shaped single crystal perovskite could be a promising candidate for small laser, and other optoelectronic devices.Fangtao Li Junfeng Lu Qinglin Zhang Dengfeng Peng Zheng Yang Qian Xu Caofeng Pan Anlian Pan Tianfeng Li Rongming Wang 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,10:2
Confocal visible/NIR photoacoustic microscopy of tumors with structural, functional, and nanoprobe contrasts显示文摘Distinguishing early-stage tumors from normal tissues is of great importance in cancer diagnosis. We report fiberbased confocal visible/near-infrared(NIR)optical-resolution photoacoustic microscopy that can image tumor microvasculature, oxygen saturation, and nanoprobes in a single scanning. We develop a cost-efficient single laser source that provides 532,558,and 1064 nm pulsed light with sub-microseconds wavelength switching time.Via dual-fiber illumination,we can focus the three beams to the same point. The optical and acoustic foci are confocally aligned to optimize the sensitivity. The visible and NIR wavelengths enable simultaneous tumor imaging with three different contrast modes. Results show obvious angiogenesis, significantly elevated oxygen saturation, and accumulated nanoparticles in the tumor regions, which offer comprehensive information to detect the tumor. This approach also allows us to identify feeding and draining vessels of the tumor and thus to determine local oxygen extraction fraction. In the tumor region, the oxygen extraction fraction significantly decreases along with tumor growth, which can also assist in tumor detection and staging.Fiber-based confocal visible/NIR photoacoustic microscopy offers a new tool for early detection of cancer.JIANGBO CHEN YACHAO ZHANG XIAOZHEN LI JINGYI ZHU DENGFENG LI SHENGLIANG LI CHUN-SING LEE LIDAI WANG 2020Photonics Research2020,8,12:2
Multi-objective Collaborative Optimization for the Lightweight Design of an Electric Bus Body Frame显示文摘To analyze the rollover safety, finite element models were established for the electric bus body frame, rollover simulation platform, living space, and bus rollover. The strength and stiffness of the body frame were calculated under four typical work-ing conditions considering the main low-order elastic modal characteristics. The results indicate that the initial body frame of the electric bus satisfies the required structural strength, stiffness, modes, and rollover safety, and it has great potential for lightweight design.Sensitivity and structural contribution analyses were performed to determine the design variables for lightweight optimization of the body frame, and a mathematical model was established for multi-objective collaborative optimization design of the electric bus. Then, the radial basis function neural network was used to approximate the optimiza-tion model.Besides, the accuracy of the approximate model was verified, and the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II was employed to determine solutions for the lightweight optimization.Compared with the initial model, the mass of the optimized model is reduced by 240 kg(9.0%)without any changes in the materials of the body frame.Dengfeng Wang Chong Xie Yuchang Liu Wenchao Xu Qi Chen 2020Automotive Innovation2020,3,3:2
