| 1 | Properties and characterization of Au^(3+)-adsorption by mycelial waste of Streptomyces aureofaciences显示文摘Mycelial waste of Streptomyces aureofaciences procured from the aureomycin fermentation industry is used as biosorbent for Au3+. The properties of Au3+ adsorption by the mycelial waste are studied. The results indicate that the optimum pH value of Au3+ adsorption is 3.5. The biosorption is a rapid and non-temperature-dependent process. The bio-sorptive capacity with 45.6 mg/g and efficiency with 91.2% are achieved under the conditions of pH 3.5 and 30℃ for 45 min, in which the ratio is 50 mg/g dry weight for the concentrations of initial Au3+ and the mycelial waste. The Au3+ ions adsorbed on the mycelial waste can be eluted. The observation in a transmission electron microscope shows that the Au3+ ions can be reduced to Au particles by the mycelial waste and the Au can become gold crystals with differentforms and sizes. | 2 | Highly efficient heritable genome editing in wheat using an RNA virus and bypassing tissue culture.显示文摘Genome editing provides novel strategies for improving plant traits,but relies on current genetic transformation and plant regeneration procedures,which can be inefficient.We have engineered a barley stripe mosaic virus(BSMV)-based sgRNA delivery vector(BSMV-sg)that is effective in performing heritable genome editing in Cas9-transgenic wheat plants.Mutated progenies were present in the next generation at frequencies ranging from 12.9%to 100%in three different wheat varieties,and 53.8%to 100%of mutants were virus-free.We also achieved multiplex mutagenesis in progeny using a pool of BSMV-sg vectors harboring different sgRNAs.Furthermore,we devised a virus-induced transgene-free editing procedure(VITF-Edit)to generate Cas9-free wheat mutants by crossing BSMV-infected Cas9-transgenic wheat pollen with wild-type wheat.Our study provides a robust,convenient and tissue culture-free approach for genome editing in wheat through virus infection. | Tingdong Li Jiacheng Hu Yu Sun Boshu Li Dingliang Zhang Wenli Li Jinxing Liu Dawei Li Caixia Gao Yongliang Zhang Yanpeng Wang | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,11: | 10 |
| 3 | Local-scale drivers of multi-stemmed tree formation in Acer,in a temperate forest of Northeast China显示文摘Acer is an important genus in temperate forests in Northeast China.Individual Acer trees can re-sprout from the root collar and can occur in clonal units,either as a single-stemmed or multi-stemmed tree.However,the factors that induce multiple-stems in Acer remain only partly understood.In this study,we determined the relative importance of abiotic and biotic variables in driving the production of multiple-stems in this genus,within a 25-hm^2experimental forest dynamics plot in Changbaishan(CBS)temperate forest.We used generalized linear mixed models to perform analyses at two levels(community-and specieslevel).We found seven Acer species in total within the plot,where they form a key part of the forest community.Our results show that abiotic factors play a more important role in producing multi-stemmed trees at the community level in CBS.At the species level,the relative importance of different factors varied among species.Shrub species tended to have a higher frequency of multi-stemmed trees under stressful conditions,whereas tree species tended to have more multi-stemmed trees in more suitable habitat.Our results indicate that the relative importance of different factors influencing the frequency of multi-stemmed individuals in Acer differs at the community and species level in the temperate forest. | Ji Ye Zhanqing Hao Xugao Wang Xuejiao Bai Dingliang Xing Zuoqiang Yuan | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,3: | 6 |

The results showed that hydrogenation made the volume fraction of B2 phase increase and facilitated the dynamic recrystallization of the lath-like phase. The addition of hydrogen. reduced the flow stresses and made the maximum m value move to a lower temperature during the superplastic deformation. | 13 | Remote sensing of subtropical tree diversity:The underappreciated roles of the practical definition of forest canopy and phenological variation显示文摘Tree species diversity is vital for maintaining ecosystem functions,yet our ability to map the distribution of tree diversity is limited due to difficulties in traditional field-based approaches.Recent developments in spaceborne remote sensing provide unprecedented opportunities to map and monitor tree diversity more efficiently.Here we built partial least squares regression models using the multispectral surface reflectance acquired by Sentinel-2 satellites and the inventory data from 74 subtropical forest plots to predict canopy tree diversity in a national natural reserve in eastern China.In particular,we evaluated the underappreciated roles of the practical definition of forest canopy and phenological variation in predicting tree diversity by testing three different definitions of canopy trees and comparing models built using satellite imagery of different seasons.Our best models explained 42%–63%variations in observed diversities in cross-validation tests,with higher explanation power for diversity indices that are more sensitive to abundant species.The models built using imageries from early spring and late autumn showed consistently better fits than those built using data from other seasons,highlighting the significant role of transitional phenology in remotely sensing plant diversity.Our results suggested that the cumulative diameter(60%–80%)of the biggest trees is a better way to define the canopy layer than using the subjective fixeddiameter-threshold(5–12 cm)or the cumulative basal area(90%–95%)of the biggest trees.Remarkably,these approaches resulted in contrasting diversity maps that call attention to canopy structure in remote sensing of tree diversity.This study demonstrates the potential of mapping and monitoring tree diversity using the Sentinal-2 data in species-rich forests. | Yongchao Liu Ruyun Zhang Chen-Feng Lin Zhaochen Zhang Ran Zhang Kankan Shang Mingshui Zhao Jingyue Huang Xiaoning Wang You Li Yulin Zeng Yun-Peng Zhao Jian Zhang Dingliang Xing | 2023 | Forest Ecosystems2023,10,3: | 0 |
| 14 | Constructing a Z-scheme Fe-MOF-based heterostructure for visible-light-driven oxidation of aromatic alcohol in ambient air显示文摘Photocatalytic oxidation of aromatic alcohol into aromatic aldehyde using O_(2)has received huge atten-tion,while the reaction that occurred in ambient air is rarely studied but follows the green-chemistry principles.Herein,spindle-shaped MIL-53(Fe)-NH_(2)@ZnIn_(2)S_(4)photocatalysts with a Z-scheme heterostruc-ture were facilely developed for photocatalytic oxidation of aromatic alcohol in air under visible light.The benzyl alcohol conversion can be notably enhanced to 73%over the optimal MIL-53-NH_(2)@ZnIn_(2)S_(4)sample with a benzaldehyde production rate of 1825μmol g^(-1)h^(-1).However,in the O_(2)atmosphere,the benzyl alcohol conversion is only 56%,indicating that O_(2)is not required and has an adverse effect on the reaction.The hierarchical structure and Z-scheme heterojunction of MIL-53-NH_(2)@ZnIn_(2)S_(4)impart an efficient separation and strong redox abilities of photo-induced electrons and holes,which are respon-sible for the impressive photocatalytic performance.This study could motivate the ingenious design of Z-scheme heterostructures for green organic conversion based on MOFs. | Lu Zhang Jianhao Qiu Guanglu Xia Dingliang Dai Xiang Zhong Jianfeng Yao | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,7: | 0 |
