2Local-scale drivers of multi-stemmed tree formation in Acer,in a temperate forest of Northeast China显示文摘Acer is an important genus in temperate forests in Northeast China.Individual Acer trees can re-sprout from the root collar and can occur in clonal units,either as a single-stemmed or multi-stemmed tree.However,the factors that induce multiple-stems in Acer remain only partly understood.In this study,we determined the relative importance of abiotic and biotic variables in driving the production of multiple-stems in this genus,within a 25-hm^2experimental forest dynamics plot in Changbaishan(CBS)temperate forest.We used generalized linear mixed models to perform analyses at two levels(community-and specieslevel).We found seven Acer species in total within the plot,where they form a key part of the forest community.Our results show that abiotic factors play a more important role in producing multi-stemmed trees at the community level in CBS.At the species level,the relative importance of different factors varied among species.Shrub species tended to have a higher frequency of multi-stemmed trees under stressful conditions,whereas tree species tended to have more multi-stemmed trees in more suitable habitat.Our results indicate that the relative importance of different factors influencing the frequency of multi-stemmed individuals in Acer differs at the community and species level in the temperate forest.Ji Ye Zhanqing Hao Xugao Wang Xuejiao Bai Dingliang Xing Zuoqiang Yuan 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,3:6
3Distribution of Microbial Populations and Their Relationship with Environmental Variables in the North Yellow Sea,China显示文摘In order to understand the large-scale spatial distribution characteristics of picoplankton,nanophytoplankton and virio-plankton and their relationship with environmental variables in coastal and offshore waters,flow cytometry(FCM) was used to ana-lyze microbial abundance of samples collected in summer from four depths at 36 stations in the North Yellow Sea(NYS).The data revealed spatial heterogeneity in microbial populations in the offshore and near-shore waters of the NYS during the summer.For the surface layer,picoeukaryotes were abundant in the near-shore waters,Synechococcus was abundant in the offshore areas,and bacte-rial and viral abundances were high in the near-shore waters around the Liaodong peninsula.In the near-shore waters,no significant vertical variation of picophytoplankton(0.2-2μm) abundance was found.However,the nanophytoplankton abundance was higher in the upper layers(from the surface to 10 m depth) than in the bottom layer.For the offshore waters,both pico-and nanophytoplankton(2-20μm) abundance decreased sharply with depth in the North Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass(NYSCWM).But,for the vertical dis-tribution of virus and bacteria abundance,no significant variation was observed in both near-shore and offshore waters.Autotrophic microbes were more sensitive to environmental change than heterotrophic microbes and viruses.Viruses showed a positive correla-tion with bacterial abundance,suggesting that the bacteriophage might be prominent for virioplankton(about 0.45μm) in summer in the NYS and that viral abundance might play an important role in microbial loop functions.BAI Xiaoge WANG Min LIANG Yantao ZHANG Zhifeng WANG Fang JIANG Xuejiao 2012Journal of Ocean University of China2012,11,1:5
4Non-destructive Measurement of Magnetic Properties of Claw Pole显示文摘The magnetic properties of the claw pole have a direct effect on the output power of a generator Many methods can be used to measure these magnetic properties,each with its own advantages,but an important shortcoming is that all are destructive.In this study,a new non-destructive method to measure the magnetic properties of claw pole was proposed and a corresponding testing set-up was designed.A finite-element model was constructed to simulate the measurement process.Results proved that the measured magnetization-like curves had good agreement with the trend of the input magnetic curves and the effect of the positioning error in the measuring process could be neglected.To further validate the new method,seven types of claw poles of different materials subjected to different heat-treatment processes were forged and tested by both the new method and the conventional ring-sample method.Compared with the latter,the new method showed better consistency,relatively higher accuracy,and much stronger stability of measurement results;however,its sensitivity needs to be improved.The effects of material compositions and heat-treatment parameters on the magnetic properties of the claw pole were briefly analyzed.Chengliang Hu Xuejiao Bai Minjun Tang Xiaofeng Tang Zhen Zhao 2019Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2019,32,5:2

6Erianin suppresses constitutive activation of MAPK signaling pathway by inhibition of CRAF and MEK1/2显示文摘Constitutive activation of RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signaling pathway(MAPK pathway)frequently occurs in many cancers harboring RAS or RAF oncogenic mutations.Because of the paradoxical activation induced by a single use of BRAF or MEK inhibitors,dual-target RAF and MEK treatment is thought to be a promising strategy.In this work,we evaluated erianin is a novel inhibitor of CRAF and MEK1/2 kinases,thus suppressing constitutive activation of the MAPK signaling pathway induced by BRAF V600E or RAS mutations.KinaseProfiler enzyme profiling,surface plasmon resonance(SPR),isothermal titration calorimetry(ITC),cellular thermal shift assay,computational docking,and molecular dynamics simulations were utilized to screen and identify erianin binding to CRAF and MEK1/2.Kinase assay,luminescent ADP detection assay,and enzyme kinetics assay were investigated to identify the efficiency of erianin in CRAF and MEK1/2 kinase activity.Notably,erianin suppressed BRAF V600E or RAS mutant melanoma and colorectal cancer cell by inhibiting MEK1/2 and CRAF but not BRAF kinase activity.Moreover,erianin attenuated melanoma and colorectal cancer in vivo.Overall,we provide a promising leading compound for BRAF V600E or RAS mutant melanoma and colorectal cancer through dual targeting of CRAF and MEK1/2.Penglei Wang Xuechao Jia Bingbing Lu Han Huang Jialin Liu Xuejiao Liu Qiong Wu Yamei Hu Pan Li Huifang Wei Tingting Liu Dengyun Zhao Lingwei Zhang Xueli Tian Yanan Jiang Yan Qiao Wenna Nie Xinli Ma Ruihua Bai Cong Peng Zigang Dong Kangdong Liu 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4:1
