| 1 | Clinical characteristics and effectiveness of antiviral agents in hospitalized children with infectious mononucleosis in China:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Importance:The clinical characteristics of infectious mononucleosis(IM)in Chinese children have not been evaluated in multicenter studies,and the effectiveness of antiviral treatment are controversial.Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics of Chinese children with IM and current status of antiviral therapy for affected patients.Methods:Hospitalized patients with IM were enrolled between 2018 and 2020 in five children’s hospitals in China.The clinical characteristics were compared among four age groups:<3 years,3-<6 years,6-<10 years,and≥10 years.The clinical characteristics of IM and effectiveness of antiviral therapy were compared among patients receiving acyclovir(ACV),ganciclovir(GCV),and no antiviral therapy(i.e.,non-antiviral group).Results:In total,499 patients were analyzed;most patients were 3-<6 years of age.The most common symptoms and signs included fever(100%),lymphadenopathy(98.6%),pharyngitis(86.4%),eyelid edema(76.8%),and snoring(72.9%).There were significant differences in rash,hepatomegaly,and liver dysfunction among the four age groups.Patients aged<3 years had a lower incidence of liver dysfunction and a higher incidence of rash.Among the 499 patients,50.1%were treated with GCV,26.3%were treated with ACV,and 23.6%received no antiviral therapy.Compared with the non-antiviral group,patients in the ACV and GCV groups had longer durations of fever(P<0.001).There were no significant differences in the incidences of complications among the three treatment groups.Interpretation:The incidence of IM in Chinese children peaked at 3-<6 years of age.Clinical features of IM varied according to age.Patients receiving antiviral therapy exhibited more serious clinical manifestations than did patients without antiviral therapy.The effectiveness of antiviral therapy for IM requires further analysis. | Huili Hu Huiling Deng Jing Bi Yi Xu Shuangjie Li Yue Xie Xinrong Sun Dongmeng Wang Xufang Li Wenxian Ouyang Bing Hu Yufeng Zhang He Tang Chunxiao Fang Hui Zhang Lingyun Guo Chen Wang Tianyi Wang Fengxia Yang Tao Jiang Zhengde Xie Gang Liu | 2021 | Pediatric Investigation2021,5,3: | 12 |

| 3 | Temperature-insensitive microwave absorption of TiB2-Al_(2)O_(3)/MgAl_(2)O_(4) ceramics based on controllable electrical conductivity显示文摘The design of the high-temperature microwave absorbing materials (MAMs) with temperature-insensitive and considerable microwave absorption (MA) capacity is a tremendous challenge.Ti B2-Al_(2)O_(3)/Mg Al_(2)O_(4) MAMs are prepared by the spark plasma sintering (SPS).Further,the influences of the Al_(2)O_(3) content on the flexural strength,thermal stability,high-temperature electrical conductivity,dielectric and MA properties are discussed.The results show that the Al_(2)O_(3) content is associated with flexural strength,high-temperature thermal stability,electrical conductivity,dielectric and MA properties.Meanwhile,the temperatureinsensitive and considerable MA properties with the minimum reflection loss (RLmin) ranging from -19.4 to -14.3 dB and the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB,RL<-5 dB) of 3.19–3.55 GHz are attained at 25°C–700°C in 8.2–12.4 GHz as the Al_(2)O_(3) content increases from 70.6 wt%to 80.6 wt%.This is ascribed to the compensating effect of the positive and negative temperature coefficient materials on the high-temperature electrical conductivity as well as the co-play of the dipolar and interfacial polarization at elevated temperatures.Consequently,Ti B2-Al_(2)O_(3)/Mg Al_(2)O_(4) ceramics exhibit the ideal prospect as the high-temperature MAMs. | LIU XiongZhang ZHANG Sealing LUO Hui CHEN Fu LI DongMeng WANG Xian GONG RongZhou | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,6: | 2 |

| 5 | Heterogeneity beyond tumor heterogeneity—SULF2 involvement in Wnt/β-catenin signaling activation in a heterogeneous side population of liver cancer cells显示文摘Introduction:Sulfatase 2(SULF2),an endogenous extracellular sulfatase,can remove 6-O-sulfate groups of glucosamine residues from heparan sulfate(HS)chains to modulate the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,which plays an important role in both liver carcinogenesis and embryogenesis.Side population(SP)cells are widely identified as stem-like cancer cells and are closely related to carcinoma metastasis,recurrence,and poor patient prognosis.However,the roles of SULF2 in SP cells of hepatomas are unclear,and the underlying mechanism is undefined.Objectives:This study aimed to compare the heterogeneity between SP cells and non-side population(NSP)cells derived from three different liver cancer cell lines and to elucidate the involvement of the SULF2-Wnt/β-catenin axis in liver cancer stem cells(CSCs)and its impact on the processes of carcinogenesis and invasiveness.Methods:In this work,three different liver cancer SP cells(HepG2,Huh7,and PRC/PRL/5)were sorted by flow cytometry.We also examined the migration and invasion behaviors of SP and NSP cells.To determine if this high tumorigenic potential of SP cells is correlated to SULF2,qPCR,western blotting,and immunofluorescence analysis were conducted.We also performed nude mouse xenograft experiments for in vivo analysis.Results:The results from the in vitro colony formation assay showed that SP cells exhibited a 2-fold higher colony formation efficiency compared to their NSP counterparts.The SP cells exhibited significantly higher potentials in terms of their migratory capacity and invasive ability compared to NSP cells.We found that higher expression of SULF2 in SP cells was associated with greater capabilities for clonogenicity,migration,and invasion.It was also linked to higher activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway via stimulation of key downstream factors,particularlyβ-catenin,c-Myc,and cyclin D1.Further,a positive correlation between the upregulated SULF2 expression and tumorigenesis in the in vivo nude mouse xenograft models was demonstrated,highlighting that the potential underlying mechanism was Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway activation.Conclusion:Our findings show that variable SULF2 expression was associated with differential activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,which could lead to behavioral differences between SP and NSP cells and also among the SP cells of the three liver cancer cell lines assessed.It was reasonably concluded that the SULF2-Wnt/β-catenin axis could play an important role in the tumorigenicity of liver cancer stem cells. | DONGYE YANG DONGDONG GUO YUNMEI PENG DONGMENG LIU YANQIU FU FEN SUN LISHI ZHOU JIAQI GUO LAIQING HUANG | 2023 | BIOCELL2023,47,9: | 0 |
| 6 | Research strategy for constructing a green infrastructure network based on spatial prioritization显示文摘The destruction of the ecological system caused by urban expansion has led to the environmental deterioration,cities have become increasingly vulnerable.In this study,six districts and counties along the Yellow River in Zhengzhou were selected as the study area.First,green infrastructure elements were extracted by morphological spatial pattern analysis.Then,outside the urban areas,we used connectivity analysis to evaluate the importance of core areas,adopted minimum cumulative resistance model to extract potential corridors,and identified the important corridors by using the gravity model.Finally,in the urban areas,we set up an evaluation system to assess the demands for ecosystem services.The results showed that:(1)Seven landscape types of green infrastructure be identified in study area.(2)There are 17 vital cores,136 potential corridors,and 24 vital corridors outside the urban areas.(3)The blocks with high demand for ecosystem services are mostly concentrated in the old blocks with dense populations and poor infrastructure,and there are 5 blocks with comprehensive high-demand.Based on identified importance for green infrastructure land space,and high-demand level for ecosystem services areas in this study,a green infrastructure net plan was proposed based on spatial conservation prioritisation. | Dongmeng Wang Chang Liu Yue Guo Puxia Tang Jie Jiao Weihan Kong Ling Zhang Yiping Liu Dezheng Kong | 2022 | Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2022,8,1: | 0 |
| 7 | Turning weak into strong: on the CTAB-induced active surface growth显示文摘Discovering new methods and principles in the inequivalent growth of equivalent facets is of great significance for going beyond symmetrical nanocrystals and for out-of-box exploration. In this work, we demonstrate that a middle ground exists between the traditional weak ligands and the strong ligands with unusual growth modes. By modifying the seed concentration during the growth of pentagonal Au nanorods, the typical weak ligand cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) is made strong, leading to notches of restricted growth and even the active surface growth mode. In-depth investigation in the link between growth kinetics and ligand packing reveals the principle of their interplay —— that the on-off dynamics of the ligands only allows for a certain limit of materials deposition rate. Beyond this limit, the growth materials build up and are then diverted elsewhere, leading to inequivalent growth. The fact that a freshly grown surface has few ligands promotes the active surface growth, focusing the growth materials onto a few sites.
