1Daclatasvir plus asunaprevir in treatment-na?ve patients with hepatitis C virus genotype 1b infection显示文摘AIM To assess daclatasvir plus asunaprevir(d UAL) in treatment-na?ve patients from China's Mainland, Russia and South Korea with hepatitis C virus(HCV) genotype 1 b infection. METHODS Patients were randomly assigned(3:1) to receive 24 wk of treatment with d UAL(daclatasvir 60 mg once daily and asunaprevir 100 mg twice daily) beginning on day 1 of the treatment period(immediate treatment arm) or following 12 wk of matching placebo(placebodeferred treatment arm). The primary endpoint was a comparison of sustained virologic response at posttreatment week 12(SVR12) compared with the historical SVR rate for peg-interferon plus ribavirin(70%) among patients in the immediate treatment arm. The first 12 wk of the study were blinded. Safety was assessed in d UAL-treated patients compared with placebo patients during the first 12 wk(doubleblind phase), and during 24 wk of d UAL in both arms combined.RESULTS In total, 207 patients were randomly assigned to immediate(n = 155) or placebo-deferred(n = 52) treatment. Most patients were Asian(86%), female(59%) and aged < 65 years(90%). Among them, 13% had cirrhosis, 32% had IL28 B non-CC genotypes and 53% had baseline HCV RNA levels of ≥ 6 million IU/m L. Among patients in the immediate treatment arm, SVR12 was achieved by 92%(95% confidence interval: 87.2-96.0), which was significantly higher than the historical comparator rate(70%). SVR12 was largely unaffected by cirrhosis(89%), age ≥ 65 years(92%), male sex(90%), baseline HCV RNA ≥ 6 million(89%) or IL28 B non-CC genotypes(96%), although SVR12 was higher among patients without(96%) than among those with(53%) baseline NS5 A resistanceassociated polymorphisms(at L31 or Y93 H). during the double-blind phase, aminotransferase elevations were more common among placebo recipients than among patients receiving d UAL. during 24 wk of d UAL therapy(combined arms), the most common adverse events(≥ 10%) were elevated alanine aminotransferase and upper respiratory tract infection; emergent grade 3-4 laboratory abnormalities were infrequently observed, and all grade 3-4 aminotransferase abnormalities(alanine aminotransferase, n = 9; aspartate transaminase, n = 6) reversed within 8-11 d. Two patients discontinued d UAL treatment; one due to aminotransferase elevations, nausea, and jaundice and the other due to a fatal adverse event unrelated to treatment. 3Removal of Cs+ from water and soil by ammonium-pillared montmorillonite/Fe3O4 composite显示文摘To remove cesium ions from water and soil, a novel adsorbent was synthesized by following a one-step co-precipitation method and using non-toxic raw materials. By combining ammonium-pillared montmorillonite(MMT) and magnetic nanoparticles(Fe_3O_4), an MMT/Fe_3O_4 composite was prepared and characterized. The adsorbent exhibited high selectivity of Cs^+ and could be rapidly separated from the mixed solution under an external magnetic field. Above all, the adsorbent had high removal efficiency in cesium-contaminated samples(water and soil) and also showed good recycling performance, indicating that the MMT/Fe_3O_4 composite could be widely applied to the remediation of cesium-contaminated environments. It was observed that the pH, solid/liquid ratio and initial concentration affected adsorption capacity. In the presence of coexisting ions, the adsorption capacity decreased in the order of Ca^(2+)> Mg^(2+)> K^+> Na^+, which is consistent with our theoretical prediction. The adsorption behavior of this new adsorbent could be expressed by the pseudo-second-order model and Freundlich isotherm. 4Mycoplasma pneumoniae Macrolide Resistance and MLVA Typing in Children in Beijing,China,in 2016:Is It Relevant?显示文摘Objective The aim of this study is to investigate the macrolide resistance rate and molecular type with multiple-locus variable-number tandem-repeat analysis(MLVA)of Mycoplasma pneumoniae of Beijing in 2016 in pediatric patients.Methods Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(PCR)was used to identify M.pneumoniae,and MLVA was performed.The domain V of the 23 S rRNA was sequenced to detect macrolide-resistant point mutations.We also investigated the activities of antibiotics against M.pneumoniae isolates in vitro.Results The PCR detection rate of M.pneumoniae in children in Beijing was 40%,and the macrolide resistance rate was 66%.The A2063 G mutation in the 23 S rRNA V region is the dominant mutation(137/146,93.84%),whereas the A2064 G mutation is rare(9/146,6.16%).Seventy-three samples were typed successfully by MLVA typing,including 86.3%(63/73)were MLVA type 4-5-7-2,and 13.7%(10/73)were MLVA type 3-5-6-2.No other types were found.No strains were resistant to levofloxacin or tetracycline.Conclusion In 2016,a specific decrease in the macrolide resistance rate occurred in Beijing.The detection rate and macrolide resistance rate of outpatients are lower than those of inpatients.The A2063 G mutants M.pneumoniae have high levels of resistance to erythromycin and azithromycin.The primary MLVA type is 4-5-7-2,followed by 3-5-6-2.No other MLVA types were detected.No strains resistant to tetracycline or levofloxacin were found in vitro.DOU Hai Wei TIAN Xiu Jun XIN De Li WEI Ran ZHOU Wei WANG Hong QIN Xuan Guang SHAO Jun Yan XU Bao Ping GE Li Xia SHI Da Wei 2020Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12:9
5Sources, evolution and impacts of EC and OC in snow on sea ice: a measurement study in Barrow, Alaska显示文摘Based on the field measurements in Barrow, Alaska within the period of April-May 2015, we investigate the sources and variations of elemental carbon(EC) and organic carbon(OC) in the surface layer of snowpack on sea ice, and estimate their effects on the sea ice albedo. Results show that the snow OC in Barrow are from natural sources(e.g. terrestrial higher plants and micro-organisms) mainly, as well as biomass burning(e.g. forest fires and straw combustion) as an important part. Both EC and OC can accumulate at the snow surface with snow melt. The variations in EC and OC and liquid water content in the snow layer are well consistent during the snow-melting period. A higher rate of snow melt implied a more efficient enrichment of EC and OC. In the last phase of snow melt, the concentration increased to a maximum of 16.2 ng/g for EC and 128 ng/g for OC, which is ~10 times larger than those before snow melt onset. Except for the dominant influence of melt amplification mechanism, the variation in concentrations of EC and OC could be disturbed by the air temperature fluctuation and snowfall. Our study indicates that the lightabsorbing impurities contributed 1.6%-5.1% to the reduction in sea ice albedo with melt during the measurement period. The significant period oflight-absorbing impurities influencing on sea ice albedo begins with the rapid melting of overlying snow and ends before the melt ponds formed widely, which lasted for about 10 days in Barrow, 2015.Tingfeng Dou Cunde Xiao Zhiheng Du J. 8Clinical characteristics of early and late drug-eluting stent in-stent restenosis and mid-term prognosis after repeated percutaneous coronary intervention显示文摘Background:The mechanism and characteristics of early and late drug-eluting stent in-stent restenosis(DES-ISR)have not been fully clarified.Whether there are different outcomes among those patients being irrespective of their repeated treatments remain a knowledge gap.Methods:A total of 250 patients who underwent initial stent implantation in our hospital,and then were readmitted to receive treatment for the reason of recurrent significant DES-ISR in 2016 were involved.The patients were categorized as early ISR(<12 months;E-ISR;n=32)and late ISR(≥12 months;L-ISR;n=218).Associations between patient characteristics and clinical performance,as well as clinical outcomes after a repeated percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)were evaluated.Primary composite endpoint of major adverse cardiac events(MACEs)included cardiac death,non-fatal myocardial infarction(MI),or target lesion revascularization(TLR).Results:Most baseline characteristics are similar in both groups,except for the period of ISR,initial pre-procedure thrombolysis in myocardial infarction,and some serum biochemical indicators.The incidence of MACE(37.5%vs.5.5%;P<0.001)and TLR(37.5%vs.5.0%;P<0.001)is higher in the E-ISR group.After multivariate analysis,E-ISR(odds ratio[OR],13.267;[95%CI 4.984-35.311];P<0.001)and left ventricular systolic dysfunction(odds ratio[OR],6.317;[95%CI 1.145-34.843];P=0.034)are the independent predictors for MACE among DES-ISR patients in the mid-term follow-up of 12 months.Conclusions:Early ISR and left ventricular systolic dysfunction are associated with MACE during the mid-term follow-up period for DES-ISR patients.The results may benefit the risk stratification and secondary prevention for DES-ISR patients in clinical practice.Jian-Feng Zheng Ting-Ting Guo Yuan Tian Yong Wang Xiao-Ying Hu Yue Chang Hong Qiu Ke-Fei Dou Yi-Da Tang Jin-Qing Yuan Yong-Jian Wu Hong-Bing Yan Shu-Bin Qiao Bo Xu Yue-Jin Yang Run-Lin Gao 2020Chinese Medical Journal2020,,22:5

10Treating chronic hepatitis B virus:Chinese physicians' awareness of the 2010 guidelines显示文摘AIM: To investigate Chinese physicians' awareness of the 2010 guidelines on the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection.METHODS: This was a quantitative survey that investigated the characteristics and practices of physicians who were treating patients with hepatitis B, the profile of their patients and physician practices regarding the diagnosis and treatment of HBV at the time of the survey. Participants were randomly selected from available databases of Chinese physicians and requested to complete either an online or paper-based survey. Data from the survey responses were analysed. For data validation and interpretation, qualitative in-depth interviews were conducted with 39 of the respondents.RESULTS: Five-hundred completed surveys, from 663 physicians were available for analysis. A mean of 175 chronic hepatitis B(CHB) patients was seen by each physician every month, of whom 85(49%) were treated in line with therapeutic indications stated in the 2010 guidelines. A total of 444(89%) physicians often(> 60% of the time) adhered to the guidelines. Most physicians used antiviral medications as recommended. For patients with compensated and decompensated cirrhosis, 342(68%) and 336(67%) of physicians, respectively, often followed the recommendation to use potent nucleos(t)ide analogues with a high genetic barrier to resistance, using the appropriate treatment more than 60% of the time. 11Hierarchically structured semiconductor@noble-metal@MOF for high-performance selective photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction显示文摘Photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction to convert solar energy to clean energy remains a critical challenge in exploring efficient catalysts.Herein,a hierarchical structured BiVO4@Au@UiO-66-NH_(2)with high photocatalytic activity was fabricated.The theoretical calculations revealed that the metal–organic framework(MOF)with relative higher conduction band(CB)and UiO-66-NH_(2)with relative lower valence band(VB)could absorb full light spectrum,combining Au nanoparticle with suitable Fermi level into a particulate tandem heterojunction.This configuration can not only lower the activation barrier of CO_(2)reduction using the rich active site of MOF,but also improve the selectivity toward CO by optimizing the reaction pathway.Notably,the experimental evaluation proved that BiVO4@Au@UiO-66-NH2 displays a producing rate of 232.7μmol h^(-1)g^(-1)for CO and a selectivity of 97.2%.The investigation reveals that elaborately integrating multiple functional components into such a hier-archical structure enables optimizing crucial processes in photocatalytic CO_(2)conversion and enhancing selectivity via synergistic catalysis.Yibo Dou Si-Min Xu Awu Zhou Haozheng Wang Jian Zhou Hong Yan Jian-Rong Li 2020Green Chemical Engineering2020,1,1:3
12Preparation of Ultrafine Water-soluble Polymers Nanofiber Mats via Electrospinning显示文摘A series of water-soluble polymers such as poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO),polyacrylamide(PAM) and poly(vinyl pyrrilidone)(PVP) was successfully prepared via the electrospinning of their aqueous solutions without the use of a surfactant.The effects of solution properties on the electrospinning of PEO,PAM and PVP solutions were investigated.The viscosity of the solution,charge density carried by the jet,and the surface tension of the solution are the key factors that influence the morphology and diameter size of the fibers.The viscosity of the solution was measured on a modular compact rheometer.The morphology and the diameter size distribution of the fibers were observed under an environmental scanning electron microscope(ESEM).The results show that the diameters of the nanofibers electrospun from the solutions of these water soluble polymers were uniform and less than 300 nm.SUN Guo-en TENG Hong ZHANG Chun-ling DOU Yan-li LI Yi 2010Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2010,26,2:3
13Experimental Investigation on the Vapor Chambers with Sintered Copper Powder Wick显示文摘High power electronics units generate high-density heat flux,which poses a significant threat to the reliability of these devices.The vapor chamber(VC)has a very high heat transfer rate and has a wide range of applications in the heat dissipation of electronic products.VCs with sintered copper powder wicks sized as irregular shape copper powder 50μm(I-50μm),I-75μm,I-110μm,I-150μm were studied in this paper.The effect of liquid filling ratio was discussed.The results indicated that the thermal resistance of all VCs decreased with the increase of heating power.The capillary performance of wick was the dominant factor for the heat transfer performance of VCs with different kinds of wick.A capillary performance factor was proposed to evaluate the capillary performance of VCs.The capillary performance factor of VC with the wick of I-75μm was much higher than that of the other types of VC in this study.The heat source surface temperature of VCs could be affected by filling ratio and wick structure.But,it should be insensitive to the filling ratio when a better capillary performance factor was obtained.With the same heating area and similar structure,the maximum heat flux density of the VC would decrease as the height of vapor cavity decreased.HUANG Dou JIA Li WU Hong AAKER Olav 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,6:3

15Comparison of the differentiation of dental pulp stem cells and periodontal ligament stem cells into neuron-like cells and their effects on focal cerebral ischemia显示文摘Recent studies have reported an in creasing in cidence of ischemic stroke,particularly in younger age groups.Dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs)and periodontal ligament stem cells(PDLSCs)are the most comm on stem cells acquired from the teeth of adults,even elderly people.However,there are no detailed reports on whether DPSCs or PDLSCs are suitable for the treatment of ischemic stroke.In this study,the in vitro differentiation of DPSCs and PDLSCs into neuron-like cells was evaluated.Then,we established a rat model of cerebral ischemia.DPSCs or PDLSCs were administered to animals,and the therapeutic effects of these two types of cells were investigated.The results showed that PDLSCs had a higher differentiation rate than DPSCs.Immunofluorescence studies showed that the expression of the neuronal differentiation markerThy-1 was higher in PDLSCs than in DPSCs,and other gene markers of neuronal differentiation showed corresponding trends,which were confirmed by western blot analysis.In this process,the Notch and Wnt signaling pathways were inhibited and activated,respectively.Fin ally,rats with transient occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery were used as a model to assess the therapeutic effect of PDLSCs and DPSCs on ischemia.The results showed that rats in the PDLSC-treated group emitted significantly greater red fluorescence signal than the DPSC-treated group.PDLSC transplantation promoted the recovery of neurological function more effectively than DPSC transplantation.Hence,PDLSCs represent an autogenous source of adult mesenchymal stem cells with desirable biological properties and may be an ideal candidate for clinical applications.Tingting Wu Wanting Xu Hanlin Chen Shasha Li Rengang Dou Hongtao Shen Xue Liu Xiaoyu Liu Yongfeng Hong Jiacai He 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,9:2
16EFFECT OF AROTINOLOL ON LEFT VENTRICULAR FUNCTION IN PATIENTS WITH IDIOPATHIC DILATED CARDIOMYOPATHY显示文摘Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of long-term treatment with arotinolol in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy(IDCM).Methods Sixty-three patients with IDCM were evaluated at baseline and after 12-month therapy with arotinolol.The conventional therapy for congestive heart failure was continued throughout the study with arotinolol as the only β-blocker.Left ventricular function was assessed with the New York Heart Association functional class and two-dimensional echocardiography.Results After 12-month arotinolol treatment,there was a significant improvement in left ventricular systolic function.Left ventricular end-systolic dimension significantly decreased from 59.52±8.83 mm to 50.89±8.17 mm(P<0.001).Left ventricular ejection fraction significantly increased from 27.39%±7.94% to 41.13%±9.45%(P<0.001).Left ventricular mass index decreased from 150.47±42.42 g/m2 to 141.58±34.36 g/m2(P<0.01).No adverse events leading to premature discontinuation of study drug occurred.Conclusion In this preliminary study,12-month arotinolol treatment has a favorable effect on left ventricular function in patients with IDCM,and it is safe and well tolerated.Chao-mei Fan Hong Yang Yi-shi Li Li Xu Ke-fei Dou Jing-lin Zhao Xian-qi Yuan Yan-fen Zhao Rong-fang Shi Xiu-qing Du Na-qiang Lu 2007Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2007,22,4:2

19Sustainable Ammonia Synthesis from Nitrogen and Water by One-Step Plasma Catalysis显示文摘Sustainable ammonia synthesis at ambient conditions that relies on renewable sources of energy and feedstocks is globally sought to replace the Haber-Bosch process.Here,using nitrogen and water as raw materials,a nonthermal plasma catalysis approach is demonstrated as an effective powerto-chemicals conversion strategy for ammonia production.By sustaining a highly reactive environment,successful plasma-catalytic production of NH_(3) was achieved from the dissociation of N_(2) and H_(2)O under mild conditions.Plasma-induced vibrational excitation is found to decrease the N_(2) and H_(2)O dissociation barriers,with the presence of matched catalysts in the nonthermal plasma discharge reactor contributing significantly to molecular dissociation on the catalyst surface.Density functional theory calculations for the activation energy barrier for the dissociation suggest that ruthenium catalysts supported on magnesium oxide exhibit superior performance over other catalysts in NH_(3) production by lowering the activation energy for the dissociative adsorption of N_(2) down to 1.07 eV.The highest production rate,2.67 mmol gcat.^(-1) h^(-1),was obtained using ruthenium catalyst supported on magnesium oxide.This work highlights the potential of nonthermal plasma catalysis for the activation of renewable sources to serve as a new platform for sustainable ammonia production.Tianqi Zhang Renwu Zhou Shuai Zhang Rusen Zhou Jia Ding Fengwang Li Jungmi Hong Liguang Dou Tao Shao Anthony B.Murphy Kostya(Ken)Ostrikov Patrick J.Cullen 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,2:1
20Effect of arotinolol on right ventricular function in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy显示文摘Objective Dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM) is generally considered to be accompanied by both left and right ventricular dysfunction,but most studies only analyze the left ventricular function. In this study,we evaluated the effect of arotinolol on right ventricular function in patients with DCM. Methods Right ventricular ejection fraction(RVEF) and right ventricular diameter(RVD) were measured by two-dimensional echocardiography(2-DE) in 33 DCM patients;RVEF measured by first-pass radionuclide angiography(FPRA) was compared with that by 2-DE. Results The treatment with arotinolol for one year resulted in a reduction in the right ventricular diameter(baseline,23.0 ± 8.3 mm vs after one-year treatment,20.7 ± 5.4 mm;P=0.004 ) and an associated increase in ejection fraction(baseline,36.9 ± 10.3% vs after one-year treatment,45.8 ± 9.6%;P < 0.001 ) ;there is a high correlation between the 2-DE method and radionuclide ventriculographic method. The correlation coefficient is 0.933(P<0.001) .
