2Transparent conductive oxide-gated silicon microring with extreme resonance wavelength tunability显示文摘Transparent conductive oxides have attracted escalating research interest for integrated photonic devices and metasurfaces due to the extremely large electro-optic modulation of the refractive index by the free-carrier-induced plasma dispersion effect. In this paper, we have designed and fabricated a silicon microring resonator using an indium-tin oxide gate as the electric-tuning electrode. It achieved an ultralarge resonance wavelength tunability of 271 pm/V, which is obtained through the reduced width of the ring waveguide and a high-dielectric-constant Hf O2 insulator. 3Ultra-compact and broadband electro-absorption modulator using an epsilon-near-zero conductive oxide显示文摘Transparent conductive oxides have emerged as a new type of plasmonic material and demonstrated unique electro-optic(E-O) modulation capabilities for next-generation photonic devices. In this paper, we report an ultra-compact, broadband electro-absorption(EA) modulator using an epsilon-near-zero(ENZ) indium-tin oxide(ITO). The device is fabricated on a standard silicon-on-insulator platform through the integration with a 3 μm long, 300 nm wide gold plasmonic slot waveguide. The active E-O modulation region consists of a metal–HfO_2–ITO capacitor that can electrically switch the ITO into ENZ with ultra-high modulation strengths of 2.62 and 1.5 dB/μm in simulation and experiment, respectively. 4Characterization of field-effect mobility at optical frequency by microring resonators显示文摘A novel characterization method is proposed to extract the optical frequency field-effect mobility(μ_(op,FE))of transparent conductive oxide(TCO)materials by a tunable silicon microring resonator with a heterogeneously integrated titanium-doped indium oxide(ITiO)/SiO_(2)/silicon metal–oxide–semiconductor(MOS)capacitor.By operating the microring in the accumulation mode,the quality factor and resonance wavelength shift are measured and subsequently used to derive the��op,FE in the ultra-thin accumulation layer.Experimental results demonstrate that the μ_(op,FE) of ITiO increases from 25.3 to 38.4 cm2⋅V^(−1)⋅s^(−1) with increasing gate voltages,which shows a similar trend as that at the electric frequency.Wei-Che Hsu Erwen Li Bokun Zhou Alan X.Wang 2021Photonics Research2021,9,4:1

6Characteristics of Mechanical Asphyxia:A Retrospective Epidemiological Study in Two Developed Cities in China显示文摘Background:Mechanical asphyxia(MA)is multi-classified.Some epidemiological characteristics are shared and the others different among different MA types.Aims and Objectives:To reveal the characteristics of different types of MA and provide reference data for forensic identification of MA.Materials and Methods:We analyzed 913 cases to reveal the epidemiological characteristics of MA in Dongguan and Guangzhou,China.Results:Seven types of MA were identified and strangulation accounted for up to 89.2%.Those aged 20-29 were the most susceptible to all types,except for traumatic and positional asphyxia.Suicide accounted for 96.6%of hanging cases,and accident was the main manner of death in cases of choking,traumatic,and positional asphyxia.Homicide was the most common in cases of ligature strangulation(LS),manual strangulation(MS),smothering,and asphyxia concomitant with lethal mechanical injury.The homicide rate in LS was positively correlated with the rate of female victims(P<0.001,OR=21.14).In MS,the ratio of female:male was 101:15 in homicide.Compared to native residents,migrant workers were more likely to suffer from LS and MS.Rope was used in 50.8%of hanging cases,while LS tools were evenly distributed.Ligature marks were mostly found above the thyroid cartilage in both hanging and LS cases.The U shaped marks were shown in 51.01%of hanging cases but absent in LS cases.In LS,ligature marks completely encircling the neck,discontinuous marks,as well as≥two marks,were more(P<0.001)than in hanging.In LS and MS cases,abrasion and subcutaneous hemorrhages on the neck were more frequent than in hanging cases(P=0.004 and P<0.001),but the difference in frequency of blister marks was opposite(P<0.001).Conclusion:In summary,this study revealed the epidemiological characteristics of the MA cases in Guangzhou and Dongguan cities.The characteristics of death scene and autopsy findings are important in differentiation of different types of MA,especially between suicide and homicide.Erwen Huang Guoli Lv Yumei Wang Qiangwei Wang Jing Zhang Lie Liang Ben Liu Wen Yang Chuanyi Tang Chao Liu Jianding Cheng 2023Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine2023,9,1:0
7Tuning photoresponse of graphene-black phosphorus heterostructure by electrostatic gating and photo-induced doping显示文摘Metal-semiconductor diodes constructed from two-dimensional(2D)van der Waals heterostructures show excellent gate electrostatics and a large built-in electric field at the tunnel junction,which can be exploited to make highly sensitive photodetector.Here we demonstrate a metal-semiconductor photodiode constructed by the monolayer graphene(Gr)on a few-layer black phosphorus(BP).Due to the presence of a built-in potential barrier(~0.09±0.03 eV)at the Gr-BP interface,the photoresponsivity of the Gr-BP device is enhanced by a factor of 672%,and the external quantum efficiency(EQE)increases to648%from 84%of the bare BP.Electrostatic gating allows the BP channel to be switched between p-type and n-type conduction.We further demonstrate that excitation laser power can be used to control the current polarity of the Gr-BP device due to photon-induced doping.The versatility of the Gr-BP junctions in terms of electrostatic bias-induced or light-induced switching of current polarity is potentially useful for making dynamically reconfigurable digital circuits.Yanpeng Liu Ming Yang Junpeng Lu Ying Liu Hongwei Liu Erwen Zhang Wei Fu Junyong Wang Zhenliang Hu Jun Yin Goki Eda Shijie Wang Jiabao Yi Ajayan Vinu Kian Ping Loh 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,1:0
8Numerical simulation and experimental study of gas cyclone–liquid jet separator for fine particle separation显示文摘To address the shortcomings of existing particulate matter trapping technology,especially the low separation efficiency of fine particles,herein,a novel gas cyclone-liquid jet separator was developed to research fine particle trapping.First,numerical simulation methods were used to investigate the flow field characteristics and dust removal efficiency of the separator under different working conditions,and to determined suitable experimental conditions for subsequent dust removal experiments.Afterward,the separation efficiency of the separator against five kinds of common particles,including g-C_(3)N_(4),TiO_(2),SiC,talc,and SiO_(2),was experimentally studied.A maximum separation efficiency of 99.48%was achieved for particles larger than 13.1μm,and 96.55%efficiency was achieved for particles larger than 2μm.The best crushing atomization effect was achieved for the separator when uGwas 10 m·s^(-1)and uLwas 3 m·s^(-1),while the best separation effect was achieved when uGwas 10 m·s^(-1)and uLwas 3.75 m·s^(-1).Studies have shown that the gas cyclone-liquid jet separator has excellent applicability in the separation of fine particles.Liwang Wang Erwen Chen Liang Ma Zhanghuang Yang Zongzhe Li Weihui Yang Hualin Wang Yulong Chang 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,,11:0
9Gas cyclone-liquid jet absorption separator used for treatment of tail gas containing HCl in titanium dioxide industry显示文摘In the titanium dioxide industry,there is a lack of a low-cost and high-efficiency treatment method for chloride containing tail gas.In this paper,the removal of HCl from the titanium dioxide industry by gas cyclone-liquid jet separator was studied,while Ca(OH)_(2),Na_(2)CO_(3),NaOH solution,and water were used as absorbents.This paper investigated the influence of gas cyclone-liquid jet separator’s various process parameters on the removal rate of hydrogen chloride gas.The mechanism of mass transfer in the process of removing hydrogen chloride was discussed,and the effect and feasibility of HCl gas removal in the gas cyclone-liquid jet absorption separator were studied.The results showd that the removal efficiency of hydrogen chloride maintained above 95%,up to 99.9%,and the total mass transfer coefficient reached0.28 mol·m^(-3)·s^(-1)·k Pa^(-1).Under the same conditions,the absorption effect and total mass transfer coefficient of weak basic absorption liquid can be greatly improved by increasing the flow rate of absorption liquid,but the absorption effect and total mass transfer coefficient of strong alkaline absorption liquid can’t be improved obviously.The larger the inlet gas volume,the higher the gas concentration,the lower the absorption efficiency and the lower the total volumetric mass transfer coefficient.Liwang Wang Hualin Wang Liang Ma Zhanghuang Yang Erwen Chen 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,4:0
10Lifting surface reconstruction of Au(100)by tellurium adsorption显示文摘The Au(100)surface has been a subject of intense studies due to excellent catalytic activities and its model character for surface science.However,the spontaneous surface reconstruction buries active Au(100)plane and limits practical applications,how to controllably eliminate the surface reconstruction over large scale remains challenging.Here,we experimentally and theoretically demonstrate that simple decoration of the Au(100)surface by tellurium(Te)atoms can uniquely lift its reconstruction over large scale.Scanning tunneling microscopy imaging reveals that the lifting of surface reconstruction preferentially starts from the boundaries of distinct domains and then extends progressively into the domains with the reconstruction rows perpendicular to the boundaries,leaving a Au(100)-(1×1)surface behind.The Au(100)-(1×1)is saturated at~84%±2%with respect to the whole surface at a Te coverage of 0.16 monolayer.With further increasing the Te coverage to 0.25 monolayer,the Au(100)-(1×1)surface becomes reduced and overlapped by a well-ordered(2×2)-Te superstructure.No similar behavior is found for Te-decorated Au(111),Cu(111),Cu(100)surfaces,nor for the decorated Au(100)with other elements.This result may pave the way to design Au-based catalysts and,as an intermediate step,even potentially open a new route to constructing complex transition metal dichalcogenides.Erwen Zhang Huan Lu Wei Zhang Shuiyan Cao Yang Wang Rong Rong Ying Liu Zhuhua Zhang Ming Yang Yanpeng Liu Wanlin Guo 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:0
