| 3 | Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. | 4 | Arc corrosion behavior of Cu-Ti_3AlC_2 composites in air atmosphere显示文摘The arc corrosion evolution of Cu-20 vol.% Ti_3 AlC_2 cathodes is presented here. After eroded by 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 kV DC voltage, respectively, the surface morphologies were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope with craters and protrusions. Compared to small craters and dense protrusions of the morphology by high voltage, the eroded surface was covered with bigger craters and sparse protrusions at low voltage. No crack was discovered on the surface even at 10 kV. By means of energy dispersive spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy, the decomposition of Cu-20 vol.% Ti_3 AlC_2 cathode to CuO,Al__2 O_3 and TiO_2 were proved. Meanwhile, W anode is oxidized to WO_2. | 5 | Experimental investigations on cavity-actuated under-expanded supersonic oscillating jet显示文摘As one type of potential flow control actuators, cavity-actuated supersonic jet oscillators,which consist of a 2-D convergent nozzle and two face to face cavities, need to be investigated deeply to get the knowledge of their oscillating feature and underlying mechanism. Wind tunnel testing are conducted under different back pressures in a vacuum-type wind tunnel for two supersonic jet oscillators, to obtain their characteristics and the conditions for jet oscillating. The experimental results show that the continuous, nearly symmetric or asymmetric flipping between the two cavities appears over certain nozzle pressure ratio(NPR) range for both oscillators according to schlieren visualizations. Compared to the free jet, the oscillating jet with large exit achieves larger mixing; the oscillating jet with small exit has less mixing, based on the analysis of jet axial peak velocity and the entrainment. | 6 | Tree species classification using deep learning and RGB optical images obtained by an unmanned aerial vehicle显示文摘The diversity of tree species and the complexity of land use in cities create challenging issues for tree species classification.The combination of deep learning methods and RGB optical images obtained by unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) provides a new research direction for urban tree species classification.We proposed an RGB optical image dataset with 10 urban tree species,termed TCC10,which is a benchmark for tree canopy classification(TCC).TCC10 dataset contains two types of data:tree canopy images with simple backgrounds and those with complex backgrounds.The objective was to examine the possibility of using deep learning methods(AlexNet,VGG-16,and ResNet-50) for individual tree species classification.The results of convolutional neural networks(CNNs) were compared with those of K-nearest neighbor(KNN) and BP neural network.Our results demonstrated:(1) ResNet-50 achieved an overall accuracy(OA) of 92.6% and a kappa coefficient of 0.91 for tree species classification on TCC10 and outperformed AlexNet and VGG-16.(2) The classification accuracy of KNN and BP neural network was less than70%,while the accuracy of CNNs was relatively higher.(3)The classification accuracy of tree canopy images with complex backgrounds was lower than that for images with simple backgrounds.For the deciduous tree species in TCC10,the classification accuracy of ResNet-50 was higher in summer than that in autumn.Therefore,the deep learning is effective for urban tree species classification using RGB optical images. | Chen Zhang Kai Xia Hailin Feng Yinhui Yang Xiaochen Du | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,5: | 3 |

| 16 | Association between homologous recombination deficiency and outcomes with platinum and platinum-free chemotherapy in patients with triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Objective:The choice of chemotherapeutic regimen for triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)remains controversial.Homologous recombination deficiency(HRD)has attracted increasing attention in informing chemotherapy treatment.This study was aimed at investigating the feasibility of HRD as a clinically actionable biomarker for platinum-containing and platinum-free therapy.Methods:Chinese patients with TNBC who received chemotherapy between May 1,2008 and March 31,2020 were retrospectively analyzed with a customized 3D-HRD panel.HRD positivity was defined by an HRD score≥30 or deleterious BRCA1/2 mutation.A total of 386 chemotherapy-treated patients with TNBC were screened from a surgical cohort(NCT01150513)and a metastatic cohort,and 189 patients with available clinical and tumor sequencing data were included.Results:In the entire cohort,49.2%(93/189)of patients were identified as HRD positive(40 with deleterious BRCA1/2 mutations and 53 with BRCA1/2 intact with an HRD score of≥30).In the first-line metastatic setting,platinum therapy was associated with longer median progression-free survival(mPFS)than platinum-free therapy[9.1 vs.3.0 months;hazard ratio(HR),0.43;95%confidence interval 0.22–0.84;P=0.01].Among HRD-positive patients,the mPFS was significantly longer in those treated with platinum rather than platinum-free therapy(13.6 vs.2.0 months;HR,0.11;P=0.001).Among patients administered a platinum-free regimen,HRD-negative patients showed a PFS significantly superior to that of HRD-positive patients(P=0.02;treatment-biomarker P-interaction=0.001).Similar results were observed in the BRCA1/2-intact subset.In the adjuvant setting,HRD-positive patients tended to benefit more from platinum chemotherapy than from platinum-free chemotherapy(P=0.05,P-interaction=0.02).Conclusions:HRD characterization may guide decision-making regarding the use of platinum treatment in patients with TNBC in both adjuvant and metastatic settings. | Yimeng Chen Xue Wang Feng Du Jian Yue Yiran Si Xiaochen Zhao Lina Cui Bei Zhang Ting Bei Binghe Xu Peng Yuan | 2023 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2023,20,2: | 1 |

| 18 | Free-standing SnNb_(2)O_(6)@CSN film as flexible anode for high performance sodium-ion batteries显示文摘Free-standing electrodes are promising candidates for flexible rechargeable batteries, toward the application of flexible energy storage devices, due to their merits of additive-free, lightweight, and high energy density. Herein, we report a free-standing SnNb_(2)O_(6)@CSN flexible film with SnNb_(2)O_(6) encapsulated in 3D carbon skeleton nanofibers by electrospinning and carbonization processes as flexible anode for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs). The 3D carbon skeleton nanofibers serve as ion/electron transport pathway to improve the electrochemical reaction kinetics and meanwhile alleviate the volume changes of SnNb_(2)O_(6) during charge-discharge processes. The as-constructed half-cell(SnNb_(2)O_(6)@CSN‖Na) exhibits excellent cycling stability of 99.2 m Ah/g at 0.5 A/g after 950 cycles(coulombic efficiency of ~100%) and a high rate performance of 108.6 mAh/g at 10 A/g. In addition, the pouch cell can light up the LEDs at different bending angles(0°, 90°, 180°). | 20 | c-Met-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T cells inhibit hepatocellular carcinoma cells in vitro and in vivo显示文摘c-Met is a hepatocyte growth factor receptor overexpressed in many tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Therefore,c-Met may serve as a promising target for HCC immunotherapy.Modifying T cells to express c-Met-specific chimeric antigen receptor(CAR)is an attractive strategy in treating c-Met-positive HCC.This study aimed to systematically evaluate the inhibitory effects of 2^(nd)-and 3^(rd)-generation c-Met CAR-T cells on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)cells.Here,2^(nd)-and 3^(rd)-generation c-Met CARs containing an anti-c-Met singlechain variable fragment(scFv)as well as the CD28 signaling domain and CD3ζ(c-Met-28-3ζ),the CD137 signaling domain and CD3ζ(c-Met-137-3ζ),or the CD28 and CD137 signaling domains and CD3ζ(c-Met-28-137-3ζ)were constructed,and their abilities to target c-Met-positive HCC cells were evaluated in vitro and in vivo.All c-Met CARs were stably expressed on T cell membrane,and c-Met CAR-T cells aggregated around c-Met-positive HCC cells and specifically killed them in vitro.c-Met-28-137-3ζCAR-T cells secreted more interferon-gamma(IFN-γ)and interleukin 2(IL-2)than c-Met-28-3ζCAR-T cells and c-Met-137-3ζCAR-T cells.Compared with c-Met low-expressed cells,c-Met CAR-T cells secreted more cytokines when co-cultured with c-Met high-expressed cells.Moreover,c-Met-28-137-3ζCAR-T cells eradicated HCC more effectively in xenograft tumor models compared with the control groups.This study suggests that 3^(rd)-generation c-Met CAR-T cells are more effective in inhibiting c-Met-positive HCC cells than 2^(nd)-generation c-Met CAR-T cells,thereby providing a promising therapeutic intervention for c-Met-positive HCC. | Xiaochen Huang Jiaojiao Guo Tao Li Lizhou Jia Xiaojun Tang Jin Zhu Qi Tang Zhenqing Feng | 2022 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2022,36,1: | 0 |
