| 1 | Radiofrequency ablation or microwave ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by comparing with radiofrequency ablation alone显示文摘Objective:To compare radiofrequency ablation(RFA) or microwave ablation(MWA) and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) with RFA or MWA monotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:A prospective,randomized,controlled trial was conducted on 94 patients with HCC ≤7 cm at a single tertiary referral center from June 2008 to June 2010 at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,the Second Affiliated Hospital of Southeast University.The patients were randomly assigned into the TACERFA or TACE-MWA(combined treatment group) and the RFA-alone or MWA-alone groups(control group).The primary end point was overall survival.The secondary end point was recurrence-free survival,and the tertiary end point was adverse effects.Results:Until the time of censor,17 patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 47.5±11.3 months(range,29 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 93.6%,68.1% and 61.7%,respectively.Twenty-five patients in the RFA or MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the RFA or MWA group was 47.0±12.9 months(range,28 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the RFA or MWA group was 85.1%,59.6% and 44.7%,respectively.The patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had better overall survival than the RFA or MWA group [hazard ratio(HR),0.526;95% confidence interval(95% CI),0.334-0.823;P=0.002],and showed better recurrence-free survival than the RFA or MWA group(HR,0.582;95% CI,0.368-0.895;P=0.008).Conclusions:RFA or MWA combined with TACE in the treatment of HCC ≤7 cm was superior to RFA or MWA alone in improving survival by reducing arterial and portal blood flow due to TACE with iodized oil before RFA. | Yongxiang Yi Yufeng Zhang Qiang Wei Liang Zhao Jianbo Han Yan Song Ying Ding Guilan Lu Junmao Liu Huaiying Ding Feng Dai Xiaojun Tang | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,1: | 29 |
| 2 | Cluster analysis for syndromes of real-world coronary heartdisease with angina pectoris显示文摘Syndromes of coronary heart disease with angina pectoris were analyzed to provide guidance forclinical practice and to improve accuracy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnoses and efficacy of TCMtreatment. A total of 860 cases with coronary heart disease with angina pectoris were selected from TCM ClinicalResearch Information Sharing System for TCM clinics and research. Syndromes were automatically extractedwith the cluster method and were analyzed to provide objective evidence for clinical studies. Final syndromeclassifications were recognized and confirmed by clinical experts. Popular syndromes included Qi and blooddeficiency, blood stasis and obstruction collaterals, liver depression and spleen deficiency, and Qi stagnation andblood stasis. Syndromes Qi and blood deficiency and blood stasis and obstruction collaterals accounted for 28.61%of total syndromes, whereas liver depression and spleen deficiency and Qi stagnation and blood stasis accountedfor 26.44%. | 3 | Comparsion analysis of data mining models applied to clinical research in Traditional Chinese Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To help researchers selecting appropriate data mining models to provide better evidence for the clinical practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) diagnosis and therapy.METHODS: Clinical issues based on data mining models were comprehensively summarized from four significant elements of the clinical studies:symptoms, symptom patterns, herbs, and efficacy.Existing problems were further generalized to determine the relevant factors of the performance of data mining models, e.g. data type, samples, parameters, variable labels. Combining these relevant factors, the TCM clinical data features were compared with regards to statistical characters and informatics properties. Data models were compared simultaneously from the view of applied conditions and suitable scopes.RESULTS: The main application problems were the inconsistent data type and the small samples for the used data mining models, which caused the inappropriate results, even the mistake results. | 4 | Antibacterial effects of platelet-rich fibrin produced by horizontal centrifugation显示文摘Platelet-rich fibrin(PRF)has been widely used owing to its ability to stimulate tissue regeneration.To date,few studies have described the antibacterial properties of PRF.Previously,PRF prepared by horizontal centrifugation(H-PRF)was shown to contain more immune cells than leukocyte-and platelet-rich fibrin(L-PRF).This study aimed to compare the antimicrobial effects of PRFs against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in vitro and to determine whether the antibacterial effects correlated with the number of immune cells.Blood samples were obtained from eight healthy donors to prepare L-PRF and H-PRF.The sizes and weights of L-PRF and H-PRF were first evaluated,and their antibacterial effects against S.aureus and E.coli were then tested in vitro using the inhibition ring and plate-counting test methods.Flow-cytometric analysis of the cell components of L-PRF and H-PRF was also performed.No significant differences in size or weight were observed between the L-PRF and H-PRF groups.The H-PRF group contained more leukocytes than the L-PRF group.While both PRFs had notable antimicrobial activity against S.aureus and E.coli,H-PRF demonstrated a significantly better antibacterial effect than L-PRF.Furthermore,the antimicrobial ability of the PRF solid was less efficient than that of wet PRF.In conclusion,H-PRF exhibited better antibacterial activity than L-PRF,which might have been attributed to having more immune cells. | Mengge Feng Yulan Wang Peng Zhang Qin Zhao Shimin Yu Kailun Shen Richard J.Miron Yufeng Zhang | 2020 | International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,4: | 12 |
| 5 | Fault diagnosis of wind turbine bearing based on stochastic subspace identification and multi-kernel support vector machine显示文摘In order to accurately identify a bearing fault on a wind turbine, a novel fault diagnosis method based on stochastic subspace identification(SSI) and multi-kernel support vector machine(MSVM) is proposed. Firstly, the collected vibration signal of the wind turbine bearing is processed by the SSI method to extract fault feature vectors. Then, the MSVM is constructed based on Gauss kernel support vector machine(SVM) and polynomial kernel SVM. Finally, fault feature vectors which indicate the condition of the wind turbine bearing are inputted to the MSVM for fault pattern recognition. | 6 | Microstructure, Mechanical Properties, Corrosion Behavior and Biocompatibility of As-Extruded Biodegradable Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn Alloy显示文摘The microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of biodegradable Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloys were investigated by the optical microscopy, X-ray diffractometer and a universal material testing machine.The corrosion and degradation behaviors were studied by potentiodynamic polarization method and immersion test in a simulated body fluid(SBF). It was found that the as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy has the fine equiaxed grains which underwent complete dynamic recrystallization during the hot extrusion process, with the second phase particles of Mg_2Sn precipitated on the grain boundaries and inside the grains. The tensile strength and elongation of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloys were 244 ± 3.7 MPa and 19.3% ± 1.7%, respectively. The potentiodynamic polarization curves in SBF solution indicated the better corrosion resistance of the as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy in the SBF solution. Immersion test in the SBF solution for 720 h revealed that the corrosion rate of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy was nearly 4 ± 0.33 mm/year. The hemolysis rate of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy was lower than the safe value of 5% according to ISO 10993-4. As-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy showed good biocompatibility after being implanted into the dorsal muscle and the femoral shaft of the rabbit, and no abnormalities were found after short-term implantation. | 7 | Study on Biogenic Amines in Various Dry Salted Fish Consumed in China显示文摘This study was carried out to investigate the biogenic amines(BAs), physicochemical property and microorganisms in dry salted fish, a traditional aquatic food consumed in China. Forty three samples of dry salted fish were gathered from retail and wholesale markets and manufacturers, which had been produced in various regions in China. Cadaverine(CAD) and putrescine(PUT) were quantitatively the most common biogenic amines. About 14% of the samples exceeded the histamine content standards established by the FDA and/or EU. The highest histamine content was found in Silver pomfret(Pampus argenteus)(347.79 mg kg^(-1)). Five of forty three samples exceeded the acceptable content of TYR(100 mg kg^(-1)), and 23.26% of dried-salted fish contained high contents of biogenic amines(above 600 mg kg^(-1)). In addition, species, regions, pickling processes and drying methods made the physicochemical property, microorganisms and biogenic amines in dry salted fish to be different to some extents. The total plate count(TPC) was much higher than that of total halophilic bacteria in all samples. The biogenic amines, physicochemical property and microbiological counts exhibited large variations among samples. Furthermore, no significant correlation between biogenic amines and physicochemical property and TPC was observed. | 9 | Exploration of presence/absence variation and corresponding polymorphic markers in soybean genome显示文摘This study was designed to reveal the genome‐wide distribution of presence/absence variation(PAV) and to establish a database of polymorphic PAV markers in soybean. The 33 soybean whole‐genome sequences were compared to each other with that of Williams 82 as a reference genome. A total of 33,127 PAVs were detected and 28,912 PAV markers with their primer sequences were designed as the database NJAUSoyPAV_1.0. The PAVs scattered on whole genome while only 518(1.8%) overlapped with simple sequence repeats(SSRs) in BARCSOYSSR_1.0database. In a random sample of 800 PAVs, 713(89.13%) showed polymorphism among the 12 differential genotypes. Using 126 PAVs and 108 SSRs to test a Chinese soybean germplasm collection composed of 828 Glycine soja Sieb. et Zucc. and Glycine max(L.) Merr. accessions, the per locus allele number and its variation appeared less in PAVs than in SSRs. The distinctness among alleles/bands of PCR(polymerase chain reaction) products showed better in PAVs than in SSRs, potential in accurate marker‐assisted allele selection. | 12 | Motion Planning Algorithms of Redundant Manipulators Based on Self-motion Manifolds显示文摘The current motion planning approaches for redundant manipulators mainly includes two categories: improved gradient-projection method and some other efficiency numerical methods. The former is excessively sensitive to parameters, which makes adjustment difficult; and the latter treats the motion planning as general task by ignoring the particularity, which has good universal property but reduces the solving speed for on-line real-time planning. In this paper, a novel stepwise solution based on self-motion manifold is proposed for motion planning of redundant manipulators, namely, the chief tasks and secondary tasks are implemented step by step. Firstly, the posture tracking of end-effector is achieved accurately by employing the non-redundant joint. Secondly, the end-effector is set to keep stationary. Finally, self-motion of manipulator is realized via additional work on the gradient of redundant joint displacement. To verify this solution, experiments of round obstacle avoiding are carried out via the planar 3 degree-of-freedom manipulator. And the experimental results indicate that this motion planning algorithm can effectively achieve obstacle avoiding and posture tracking of the end-effector. | 16 | Predicting the degradation behavior of magnesium alloys with a diffusion-based theoretical model and in vitro corrosion testing显示文摘Magnesium alloys have shown great potential for their use in the medical device field, due to the promising biodegradability. However, it remains a challenge to characterize the degradation behavior of the Mg alloys in a quantitative manner. As such, controlling the degradation rate of the Mg alloys as per our needs is still hard, which greatly limits the practical application of the Mg alloys as a degradable biomaterial.This paper discussed a numerical model developed based on the diffusion theory, which can capture the experimental degradation behavior of the Mg alloys precisely. The numerical model is then implemented into a finite element scheme, where the model is calibrated with the data from our previous studies on the corrosion of the as-cast Mg-1 Ca and the as-rolled Mg-3 Ge binary alloys. The degradation behavior of a pin implant is predicted using the calibrated model to demonstrate the model’s capability. A standard flow is provided in a practical framework for obtaining the degradation behavior of any biomedical Mg alloys. This methodology was further verified via the comparison with enormous available experimental results. | 20 | A high-Tc dc-SQUID-based single-channel MCG and its performance显示文摘A single-channel high-Tc dc-SQUID magnetometer and gradiometer have been developed to record the magnetic field component perpendicular to the human chest generated by heart-beat. Magnetocardiogram (MCG) measurements have been carried out inside a magnetically shielded room. By sequentially adjusting a non-magnetic patient table with 5 cm pitch in X and Y directions, the field signals on a rectangle grid 5×5 over the chest area were registered in real time trace point by point with a typical dwell time over 30 cardiocycles each. Utilizing standard electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings as timing reference measured simultaneously with the MCG signals, the MCG data were then averaged and combined to form magnetic field patterns every 10 ms or so. Both the current dipole, which is parallel to MCG measuring plane and produces the vertical magnetic field, and its depth were determined as a function of time in a standard way.
