| 1 | Effects of single basal application of coated compound fertilizer on yield and nitrogen use efficiency in double-cropped rice显示文摘Fertilizer plays an important role in increasing rice yield. More than half of all fertilizer applied to the field is not taken up, resulting in environmental damage and substantial economic losses. To address these concerns, a low-cost, coated compound fertilizer named 'Xiang Nong Da'(XND), requiring only a single basal application, was studied. A two-year field experiment was conducted to test the effects of XND application on rice yield and nitrogen fertilizer use efficiency. An ordinary uncoated compound fertilizer(UNCF), with 20% more nutrients and split application was selected as the control. The yield of XND-treated rice was only 3.1% lower than that of the control, an insignificant difference. There were no significant differences between N use efficiency indices of the two fertilizer treatments except for N partial factor productivity(PFP_N). PFP_Nof XND treatment was 19.7%–23.2% higher than the control, a significant difference. | 2 | Anti-breast cancer effects and mechanisms of Xihuang pill on human breast cancer cell lines显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the anti-breast cancer(BC) effects and mechanisms of action of Xihuang pill(XHP) by conducting in vitro experiments on human BC cell lines. METHODS: Two human BC cell lines(MCF-7 and MDAMB231) were cultured and treated with XHP. Cell viability was detected using the 3-(4, 5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay. Flow cytometry was used to measure the cell cycle and apoptosis. The cell cycle was analyzed with propidium iodide staining. Apoptosis was evaluated using the Annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidium iodide method. Western blotting was used to analyze the expression of estrogen receptor(ER)-α and ER-β.RESULTS: XHP had growth-inhibitory effects on MCF-7 and MDA-MB231 cells with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50) of 10.14 mg/mL(MCF-7) and 8.98 mg/mL(MDA-MB231). Apoptosis was induced to some extent. Certain changes in the ER were caused. Upregulation of ER-α protein was found in MCF-7 cells. ER-β expression in MDA-MB231 cells was increased. Cell-cycle arrest was not observed in the two BC cell lines. ER-β expression in MCF-7 cells was unchanged. No ER-α expression was shown in MDA-MB231 cells. CONCLUSION: These data suggest that XHP can affect cell viability and cause apoptosis, but that the cell cycle is not blocked. | 3 | Characterization of a salt-tolerant bacterium Bacillus sp. from a membrane bioreactor for saline wastewater treatment显示文摘High salt concentrations can cause plasmolysis and loss of activity of cells, but the salt-torlerant bacterium can endure the high salt concentrations in wastewater. In this research 7 salt-torlerant bacteria, which could survive in dry powder products and could degrade organic contaminants in saline wastewater, were isolated from a membrane bioreactor. The strain NY6 which showed the fastest growth rate, best property for organic matter degradation and could survive in dry powder more than 3 months was selected and characterized. It was classified as Bacillus aerius based on the analysis of the morphological and physiological properties as well as the 16 S rRNA sequence and Neigh borjoining tree. The strain NY6 could survive in the salinity up to 6% and the optimal growth salinity is2%; it belongs to a slightly halophilic bacterium. The capability of its dry powder products for COD removal was 800 mg COD/(g·day) in synthesized saline wastewater with salinity of 2%. | 4 | High-Sensitivity Gas Detection with Air-Lasing-Assisted Coherent Raman Spectroscopy显示文摘Remote or standoff detection of greenhouse gases,air pollutants,and biological agents with innovative ultrafast laser technology attracts growing interests in recent years.Hybrid femtosecond/picosecond coherent Raman spectroscopy is considered as one of the most versatile techniques due to its great advantages in terms of detection sensitivity and chemical specificity.However,the simultaneous requirement for the femtosecond pump and the picosecond probe increases the complexity of optical system.Herein,we demonstrate that air lasing naturally created inside a filament can serve as an ideal light source to probe Raman coherence excited by the femtosecond pump,producing coherent Raman signal with molecular vibrational signatures.The combination of pulse self-compression effect and air lasing action during filamentation improves Raman excitation efficiency and greatly simplifies the experimental setup.The air-lasing-assisted Raman spectroscopy was applied to quantitatively detect greenhouse gases mixed in air,and it was found that the minimum detectable concentrations of CO_(2) and SF_(6) can reach 0.1%and 0.03%,respectively.The ingenious designs,especially the optimization of pump-seed delay and the choice of perpendicular polarization,ensure a high detection sensitivity and signal stability.Moreover,it is demonstrated that this method can be used for simultaneously measuring CO_(2) and SF_(6) gases and distinguishing ^(12)CO_(2) and ^(13)CO_(2).The developed scheme provides a new route for high-sensitivity standoff detection and combustion diagnosis. | Zhihao Zhang Fangbo Zhang Bo Xu Hongqiang Xie Botao Fu Xu Lu Ning Zhang Shupeng Yu Jinping Yao Ya Cheng Zhizhan Xu | 2022 | Ultrafast Science2022,,2: | 4 |
| 5 | Critical Yield Factors for Achieving High Grain Yield in Early-Season Rice Grown under Mechanical Transplanting Conditions显示文摘Double-season rice cropping systems occupy a large portion of the rice production area in southern China.Because the problem of insufficient labor,mechanical transplanting(in contrast to the manual transplanting)was become more attractive in double-season rice system.However,the decisive yield factors which resulting in high grain yield of early-season rice are unclear under mechanical-transplanted conditions.In present study,the field experiments were conducted in the early season in 2017 and repeated in 2018 in Santang Town,Hunan Province,China.Ten early season rice cultivars(Zhuliangyou 819,Lingliangyou 268,Lingliangyou 104,Luliangyou 996,Xiangzaoxian 24,Xiangzaoxian 32,Xiangzaoxian 45,Xiangzaoxian 42,Zhongjiazao 17,and Zhongzao 39)were used as materials in this study.The difference in grain yield and closely-related agronomic and physiological traits of ten tested cultivars were compared.The range of yields(t ha^(–1) at 86%dry matter)in 2017 was 6.2 to 8.7(mean 7.8)and in 2018 was 6.5 to 8.4(mean 7.8).Grain weight and pre-heading biomass accumulation had potent significant positive correlations with the grain yield.The greater pre-heading biomass accumulation was major attributed to higher apparent radiation use efficiency.Our results suggested that early-season rice cultivars to achieve the high grain yield in mechanical-transplanted conditions depends on apparent radiation use efficiency in the pre-heading period and higher grain weight. | Jiana Chen Ruichun Zhang Fangbo Cao Xiaohong Yin Tianfeng Liang Min Huang Yingbin Zou | 2020 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,4: | 2 |

| 20 | Biomechanical finite element analysis of typical tibiotalar arthrodesis显示文摘Tibiotalar arthrodesis(TTA)is a common surgical method for post-traumatic arthrosis and primary osteoarthrosis of ankle.Internal screw fixation exhibits such advantages of higher fusion rate and fewer complications that it has become the mainstream surgical procedure in clinics.However,there are still disputes over the choice of screw type,number and nailing method.In this study,a 3D model of tibiotalar joint was established based on CT data.Two representative types of screws were modeled according to their real objects.Preprocessing was done in Hypermesh 2017,and the finite element simulations of different surgical schemes and postoperative ankle joint movements were performed via Abaqus 2016.The stress distribution in tibiotalar joints and screws,interarticular displacement,and screw deformation were extracted for comparative analyses.The results show that:(1)the three-screw fixation scheme with smaller displacements and higher contact pressure is superior to the two-screw one;(2)the relative displacements of the tibia and talus of full-thread screw under all loads were reduced by approximately 50%compared with those of lag screw,showing better stability;(3)the 60scheme is more favorable for joint fusion and more stable under vertical load,while the 75has the best bending resistance;(4)the stress and strain distributions in screws indicate that the screw break is most likely to happen near its contact region with the bone inlet,the maximum stress reaches 212.2 MPa.This study is of great significance for the selection and optimization of the surgical plan. | Fangbo Bing Chi Wei Pan Liu Zhenzi Li Yu Deng Zuoqi Zhang Shaobo Zhu | 2021 | Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices2021,,3: | 0 |
