1The effects of probiotics administration on the milk production,milk components and fecal bacteria microbiota of dairy cows显示文摘Probiotics administration can improve host health.This study aims to determine the effects of probiotics(Lactobacillus casei Zhang and Lactobacillus plantarum P-8) administration on milk production,milk functional components,milk composition,and fecal microbiota of dairy cows.Variations in the fecal bacteria microbiota between treatments were assessed based on 16 S rRNA profiles determined by Pac Bio single molecule real-time sequencing technology.The probiotics supplementation significantly increased the milk production and the contents of milk immunoglobulin G(IgG),lactoferrin(LTF),lysozyme(LYS)and lactoperoxidase(LP),while the somatic cell counts(SCC) significantly decreased(P < 0.01).However,no significant difference was found in the milk fat,protein and lactose contents(P > 0.05).Although the probiotics supplementation did not change the fecal bacteria richness and diversity,significantly more rumen fermentative bacteria(Bacteroides,Roseburia,Ruminococcus,Clostridium,Coprococcus and Dorea) and beneficial bacteria(Faecalibacterium prausnitzii) were found in the probiotics treatment group.Meanwhile,some opportunistic pathogens e.g.Bacillus cereus,Cronobacter sakazakii and Alkaliphilus oremlandii,were suppressed.Additionally,we found some correlations between the milk production,milk components and fecal bacteria.To sum up,our study demonstrated the beneficial effects of probiotics application in improving the quality and quantity of cow milk production.Haiyan Xu Weiqiang Huang Qiangchuan Hou Lai-yu Kwok Zhihong Sun Huimin Ma Feiyan Zhao Yuan-Kun Lee Heping Zhang 2017Science Bulletin2017,62,11:21
2Fabrication of kW-level chirped and tilted fiber Bragg gratings and filtering of stimulated Raman scattering in high-power CW oscillators显示文摘Suppression of stimulated Raman scattering(SRS)by means of chirped and tilted fiber Bragg gratings(CTFBGs)has become a key topic.However,research on high-power systems is still lacking due to two problems.Firstly,after the inscription,there are a large number of hydroxyl compounds and hydrogen molecules in CTFBGs that cause significant heating due to their strong infrared absorption.Secondly,CTFBGs can couple Stokes light from the core to the cladding and the coating,which causes serious heating in the coating of the CTFBG.Aimed at overcoming these bottlenecks,a process that combines constant-low-temperature and variable-high-temperature annealing is used to reduce the thermal slope of the CTFBG.Also,a segmented-corrosion cladding power stripping technology is used on the CTFBG to remove the Stokes light which is coupled to the cladding,which solves the problem of overheating in the coating of the CTFBG.Thereby,a CTFBG with both a kilowatt-level power-carrying load and the ability to suppress SRS in a fiber laser has been developed.Further,we establish a kW-level CW oscillator to test the CTFBG.Experimental results demonstrate that the power-carrying load of the CTFBG is close to 1 kW,the thermal slope is lower than 0.015 ℃/W,and the SRS suppression ratio is nearly 23 dB.Kerong Jiao Jian Shu Hua Shen Zhiwen Guan Feiyan Yang Rihong Zhu 2019High Power Laser Science and Engineering2019,7,2:9
3Improvement in grain refinement efficiency of Mg-Zr master alloy for magnesium alloy by friction stir processing显示文摘Previous studies have proved that the zirconium(Zr)alloying and grain refining performance of a Mg-Zr master alloy on Mg alloy is closely related to the distribution of Zr particle size,and a Mg-Zr master alloy with more Zr particles in size range of 1-5μm exhibits a better refining efficiency.In this paper,friction stir processing(FSP)was used to modify the Zr particles size distribution of a commercially available Mg-30 wt.%Zr master alloy,and the subsequent grain refinement ability was studied by trials on a typical Mg-3Nd-0.2Zn-0.6Zr(wt.%,NZ30K)alloy.It is found that plenty of large Zr particles in the as-received Mg-30%Zr master alloy are broken by FSP.Grain refinement tests reveal that the refining efficiency of Mg-30%Zr alloy is significantly improved by FSP,which is attributed to the better distribution of Zr particles.The refinement effect by adding 0.6%FSP-ed Mg-30%Zr is approximately equivalent to that by adding 1.0%as-received Mg-30%Zr.Due to the easy and convenient operation of FSP,this study provides a new method to develop a more efficient Mg-Zr refiner.Chengqi Wang Ming Sun Feiyan Zheng Liming Peng Wenjiang Ding 2014Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2014,2,3:7
4How is mRNA expression predictive for protein expression? 5Roles of fishing and climate change in long-term fish species succession and population dynamics in the outer Beibu Gulf,South China Sea显示文摘A prevailing,controversial hypothesis is that fishing pressure has played a greater role than climatic and environmental drivers,in changing fish species succession and biomass fluctuation in the South China Sea(SCS).Based on otter trawl survey data from 1959 to 2010 in the outer Beibu Gulf(OBG),northern SCS,large seasonal and interannual variation is reported for fish species composition,the proportional abundances of dominant taxa,and fish biomass.Generalized additive models are developed to quantify relationships between fish biomass and the external factors of fishing pressure and climate change.Fishing pressure proved to be the main driver of sharp declines in demersal fish stocks,with high-value species being replaced by low-value ones over time.Abrupt decreases in fish biomass during the years of 1993 and 1998 correspond to El Nino events,with climate change possibly the main driver of proportional representation of pelagic species in fisheries trawl catch.The need to differentiate impacts of fishing and environmental drivers on fish species with different life history strategies is stressed to better understand fish community dynamics.Xuehui Wang Yongsong Qiu Feiyan Du Weida Liu Dianrong Sun Xiao Chen Weiwen Yuan Yong Chen 2019Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,10:6
6New research trends on high-precision time transfer technology显示文摘High-precision time transfer plays an important role in the areas of fundamental research and applications. Accompanying w ith the remarkable improvements in the ability of generating and measuring high-accuracy time-frequency signal,seeking for new time-transfer techniques betw een distant clocks w ith much further improved accuracy attracts attentions w orld-w idely. The time-transfer technique based on optical pulses has the highest precision presently,and the further improvement in the accuracy is heavily dependent on the time-domain properties of the pulse as w ell as the sensitivity of the applied measurement on the exchanged pulse. The application of optical frequency comb in time transfer for a precision up to femtosecond level are currently the focus of much interest,and has recently achieved many breakthroughs. Further investigations show that,utilizing quantum techniques,i.e. quantum measurement technique and quantum optical pulse source,can lead to a new limit on the measured timing information. Furthermore,it can be immune from atmospheric parameters,such as pressure,temperature,humidity and so on.Such quantum improvements on time-transfer have a bright prospect in the future applications requiring extremely high-accuracy timing and ranging. 7An automated approach to calculating the maximum diameters of multiple cutters and their paths for sectional milling of centrifugal impellers on a 4_(1/2)-axis CNC machine显示文摘Power generators and chemical engineering compressors include heavy and large centrifugal impellers. To produce these impellers in high-speed machining, a 4?-axis milling machine(or a 4-axis machine plus an indexing table) is often used in the industry, which is more rigid than a5-axis milling machine. Since impeller blades are designed with complex B-spline surfaces and impeller channels spaces vary significantly, it is more efficient to use multiple cutters as large as possible to cut a channel in sections and a blade surface in patches, instead of only using a small cutter to machine a whole blade and a channel. Unfortunately, no approach has been established to automatically calculate the largest diameters of cutters and their paths, which include the indexing table angles. To address this problem, an automated and optimization approach is proposed. Based on the structure of a 4?-axis machine, a geometric model for a cutter gouging/interfering the impeller is formulated, and an optimization model of the cutter diameter in terms of the indexing table angle is established at a cutter contact(CC) point on a blade surface. Then, the diameters of the tools,their orientations, and the indexing table angles are optimized, and each tool's paths are generated for machining its corresponding impeller section. As a test, an impeller is efficiently machined with these tools section by section; thus, this approach is valid. 10Fast recognition using convolutional neural network for the coal particle density range based on images captured under multiple light sources显示文摘A method based on multiple images captured under different light sources at different incident angles was developed to recognize the coal density range in this study.The innovation is that two new images were constructed based on images captured under four single light sources.Reconstruction image 1 was constructed by fusing greyscale versions of the original images into one image,and Reconstruction image2 was constructed based on the differences between the images captured under the different light sources.Subsequently,the four original images and two reconstructed images were input into the convolutional neural network AlexNet to recognize the density range in three cases:-1.5(clean coal) and+1.5 g/cm^(3)(non-clean coal);-1.8(non-gangue) and+1.8 g/cm^(3)(gangue);-1.5(clean coal),1.5-1.8(middlings),and+1.8 g/cm^(3)(gangue).The results show the following:(1) The reconstructed images,especially Reconstruction image 2,can effectively improve the recognition accuracy for the coal density range compared with images captured under single light source.(2) The recognition accuracies for gangue and non-gangue,clean coal and non-clean coal,and clean coal,middlings,and gangue reached88.44%,86.72% and 77.08%,respectively.(3) The recognition accuracy increases as the density moves further away from the boundary density.Feiyan Bai Minqiang Fan Hongli Yang Lianping Dong 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6:4
11The Role of Barrier Layer in Southeastern Arabian Sea During the Development of Positive Indian Ocean Dipole Events显示文摘Using data from Argo and simple ocean data assimilation (SODA), the role of the barrier layer (BL) in the southeastern Arabian Sea (SEAS: 60°E-75°E, 0°-10°N) is investigated during the development of positive Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) events from 1960 to 2008. It is found that warmer sea surface temperature (SST) in the northern Indian Ocean appears in June in the SEAS. This warm SST accompanying anomalous southeastern wind persists for six months and a thicker BL and a corresponding thinner mixed layer in the SEAS contribute to the SST warming during the IOD formation period. The excessive precipitation during this period helps to form a thicker BL and a thinner mixed layer, resulting in a higher SST in the SEAS. Warm SST in the SEAS and cold SST to the southeast of the SEAS intensify the southeasterly anomaly in the tropical Indian Ocean, which transports more moisture to the SEAS, and then induces more precipitation there. 13Effects of process parameters on microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir lap linear welded 6061 aluminum alloy to NZ30K magnesium alloy显示文摘The microstructures and lap-shear behaviors of friction stir lap linear welded as-extruded 6061 Al alloy to as-cast Mg–3.0Nd–0.2Zn–0.7Zr(wt.%)(NZ30K)alloy joints were examined.Various tool rotation and travel speeds were adopted to prepare the joints.The analysis of temperature field indicates that the peak temperature for each sample can reach 450℃,which exceeds the eutectic reaction temperatures of 437℃ and 450℃ according to the binary phase diagram of Al–Mg system.The fierce intermixing can be found at the interface between Al and Mg alloys,forming the intermetallic of Al_(3)Mg_(2).Welds with the rotation speed of 900 rpm and travel speed of 120 mm/min display the highest tensile shear failure load of about 2.24 kN.The value was increased by 13%after the sample was heat treated at 400℃ for 0.5 h.Shuai Tan Feiyan Zheng Juan Chen Jingyu Han Yujuan Wu Liming Peng 2017Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2017,5,1:3
14Regeneration of Ag_XO@SBA-15 for reactive adsorptive desulfurization of fuel显示文摘Adsorbent regeneration is critical for a continuous adsorption–regeneration process and often underestimated. In this work,the regeneration of bifunctional AgXO@SBA-15 for [O]-induced reactive adsorptive desulfurization of liquid fuel is reported and further investigated. The spent AgXO@SBA-15 was regenerated in various types of solvents followed by calcination and tested in multiple desulfurization–regeneration cycles. The effects of regenerate solvents were also compared systematically. The original and regenerated AgXO@SBA-15 was characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, N_2 adsorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and atomic absorption spectrometry. The recovery of desulfurization capacity using various solvents follows the order of acetonitrile [ acetone [ ethanol [ methanol [ water. Owing to the complete reduction of silver species to Ag^0 and severe agglomeration of Ag^0, the bifunctional AgXO@SBA-15 demonstrating [ 85%(2.60 mg-S/g) of sulfur removal dramatically reduced to \ 46%(1.56 mg-S/g) after only 1 st-cycle regeneration. It is suggested that polar organic species strongly adsorbed(or residual) on the spent AgXO@SBA-15, in that case, after solvent wash may contribute to the accelerated decomposition of Ag^+ to Ag^0 in the following calcination step. The desulfurization capacity decreased rather mildly in the later regeneration runs. 15Image segmentation method for coal particle size distribution analysis显示文摘Particle size distribution is extremely important in the coal preparation industry.It is traditionally analysed by a manual screening method,which is relatively time-consuming and cannot immediately guide production.In this paper,an image segmentation method for images of coal particles is proposed.It employs the watershed algorithm,k-nearest neighbour algorithm,and convex shell method to achieve preliminary segmentation,merge small pieces with large pieces,and split adhered particles,respectively.Comparing the automated segmentation using this method with manual segmentation,it is found that the results are comparable.The size distributions obtained by the automated and manual segmentation methods are nearly identical,and the standard deviation is less than 3%,indicating good reliability.This automated image segmentation method provides a new approach for rapidly analysing the size distribution of coal particles with size fractions defined according to consumer requirements.Feiyan Bai Minqiang Fan Hongli Yang Lianping Dong 2021Particuology2021,19,3:3
16Sucrose Secreted by the Engineered Cyanobacterium and Its Fermentability显示文摘The unicellular cyanobacterium, Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942(Syn7942), synthesizes sucrose as the only compatible solute under salt stress. A series of engineered Syn7942 strains for sucrose production were constructed. The overexpression of the native sps(encoding a natively fused protein of sucrose phosphate synthase SPS and sucrose phosphate phosphatase SPP) in Syn7942 wild type caused a 93% improvement of sucrose productivity. The strain FL130 co-overexpressing sps and csc B(encoding a sucrose transporter) exhibited a 74% higher extracellular sucrose production than that overexpressing csc B only. Both results showed the significant improvement of sucrose productivity by the double functional protein SPS-SPP. Afterwards, FL130 was cultivated under a modified condition, and the cell-free culture medium containing 1.5 g L-1 sucrose was pre-treated with an acid hydrolysis technique. Cultivated with the neutralized hydrolysates as the starting media, two widely used microorganisms, Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, showed a comparable growth with that in the control media supplemented with glucose. 17Targeting a novel inducible GPX4 alternative isoform to alleviate ferroptosis and treat metabolic-associated fatty liver disease显示文摘Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),which is previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),represents a major health concern worldwide with limited therapy.Here,we provide evidence that ferroptosis,a novel form of regulated cell death characterized by iron-driven lipid peroxidation,was comprehensively activated in liver tissues from MAFLD patients.The canonical-GPX4(cGPX4),which is the most important negative controller of ferroptosis,is downregulated at protein but not mRNA level.Interestingly,a non-canonical GPX4 transcript-variant is induced(inducible-GPX4,iGPX4)in MAFLD condition.The high fat-fructose/sucrose diet(HFFD)and methionine/choline-deficient diet(MCD)-induced MAFLD pathologies,including hepatocellular ballooning,steatohepatitis andfibrosis,were attenuated and aggravated,respectively,in cGPX4-and iGPX4-knockin mice.cGPX4 and iGPX4 isoforms also displayed opposing effects on oxidative stress and ferroptosis in hepatocytes.Knockdown of iGPX4 by siRNA alleviated lipid stress,ferroptosis and cell injury.Mechanistically,the triggered iGPX4 interacts with cGPX4 to facilitate the transformation of cGPX4 from enzymatic-active monomer to enzymatic-inactive oligomers upon lipid stress,and thus promotes ferroptosis.Co-immunoprecipitation and nano LC–MS/MS analyses confirmed the interaction between iGPX4 and cGPX4.Our results reveal a detrimental role of non-canonical GPX4 isoform in ferroptosis,and indicate selectively targeting iGPX4 may be a promising therapeutic strategy for MAFLD.Jie Tong Dongjie Li Hongbo Meng Diyang Sun Xiuting Lan Min Ni Jiawei Ma Feiyan Zeng Sijia Sun Jiangtao Fu Guoqiang Li Qingxin Ji Guoyan Zhang Qirui Shen Yuanyuan Wang Jiahui Zhu Yi Zhao Xujie Wang Yi Liu Shenxi Ouyang Chunquan Sheng Fuming Shen Pei Wang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,9:3

19Utilizing phase-shifted long-period fiber grating to suppress spectral broadening of a high-power fiber MOPA laser system显示文摘Suppressing nonlinear effects in high-power fiber lasers based on fiber gratings has become a hotspot.At present,research is mainly focused on suppressing stimulated Raman scattering in a high-power fiber laser.However,the suppression of spectral broadening,caused by self-phase modulation or four-wave mixing,is still a challenging attribute to the close distance between the broadened laser and signal laser.If using a traditional fiber grating with only one stopband to suppress the spectral broadening,the signal power will be stripped simultaneously.Confronting this challenge,we propose a novel method based on phase-shifted long-period fiber grating(PS-LPFG)to suppress spectral broadening in a high-power fiber master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA)laser system in this paper.A PS-LPFG is designed and fabricated on 10/130 passive fiber utilizing a point-by-point scanning technique.The resonant wavelength of the fabricated PS-LPFG is 1080 nm,the full width at half maximum of the passband is 5.48 nm,and stopband extinction exceeds 90%.To evaluate the performance of the PS-LPFG,the grating is inserted into the seed of a kilowattlevel continuous-wave MOPA system.Experiment results show that the 30 dB linewidth of the output spectrum is narrowed by approximately 37.97%,providing an effective and flexible way for optimizing the output linewidth of highpower fiber MOPA laser systems.Yinxu Bian Kerong Jiao Xuecheng Wu Hua Shen Feiyan Yang Rihong Zhu 2021High Power Laser Science and Engineering2021,9,3:2
20High quality p-type ZnO film growth by a simple method and its properties显示文摘P-type ZnO:N films have been grown successfully by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using Zn4(OH)2(O2CCH3)6·2H2O as the solid source material and ZnNO3 as the doping source material. XPS, Hall-effect measurement and PL spectra were employed to analyze the structural, electrical and optical properties and study the influence of substrate temperature on the film. Results showed that with a lower substrate temperature, the film exhibited p-type conduction and its resistivity decreased when the substrate temperature increased. When the substrates temperature was 400℃, p-type ZnO films were obtained with carrier concentration of +5.127×1017 cm?3, resistivity of 0.04706 ?·cm and Hall mobility of 259 cm2/(V·s); they still exhibited p-type conduction after a month.
