| 1 | Combination therapy of thiamine,vitamin C and hydrocortisone in treating patients with sepsis and septic shock:a meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis显示文摘Background:The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of thiamine and vitamin C with or without hydrocortisone coadministration on the treatment of sepsis and septic shock.Methods:MEDLINE,EMBASE and CENTRAL databases were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that made a comparative study between the combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine with or without hydrocortisone and the administration of placebo in patients with sepsis or septic shock.Two reviewers independently performed study selection,data extraction and quality assessment.Both short-term mortality and change in the sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA)score from baseline(delta SOFA)were set as the primary outcomes.Secondary endpoints included intensive care unit(ICU)mortality,new onset of acute kidney injury,total adverse events,ICU and hospital length of stay,duration of vasopressor usage and ventilator-free days.Meanwhile,trial sequential analysis was conducted for primary outcomes.Results:Eight RCTs with 1428 patients were included in the current study.The results showed no significant reduction of short-term mortality in sepsis and septic shock patients who received combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine with or without hydrocortisone compared to those with placebo{risk ratio(RR),1.02[95%confidence interval(CI),0.87 to 1.20],p=0.81,I2=0%;risk difference(RD),0[95%CI,−0.04 to 0.05]}.Nevertheless,the combination therapy was associated with significant reduction in SOFA score[mean difference(MD),−0.63,(95%CI,−0.96 to−0.29,p<0.001,I^(2)=0%]and vasopressors duration(MD,−22.11[95%CI,−30.46 to−13.77],p<0.001,I2=6%).Additionally,there were no statistical differences in the pooled estimate for other outcomes.Conclusions:In the current meta-analysis,the combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine,with or without hydrocortisone had no impact on short-term mortality when compared with placebo,but was associated with significant reduction in SOFA score among patients with sepsis and septic shock. | Renqi Yao Yibing Zhu Yue Yu Zhixuan Li Lixue Wang Liyu Zheng Jingyan Li Huibin Huang Guosheng Wu Feng Zhu Zhaofan Xia Chao Ren Yongming Yao | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 2 |

| 6 | Nanoengineering Metal–Organic Frameworks and Derivatives for Electrosynthesis of Ammonia显示文摘Electrocatalytic synthesis under mild conditions has become increasingly important as one of the practical alternatives for industrial applications,especially for the green ammonia(NH_(3))industry.A properly engineered electrocatalyst plays a vital role in the realization of superior catalytic performance.Among various types of promising nanomaterials,metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)are competitive candidates for developing efficient electrocatalytic NH_(3) synthesis from simple nitrogen-containing molecules or ions,such as N_(2) and NO_(3)^(−).In this review,recent advances in the development of electrocatalysts derived from MOFs for the electrosynthesis of NH_(3) are collected,categorized,and discussed,including their application in the N_(2) reduction reaction(NRR)and the NO_(3)^(−)reduction reaction(NO3RR).Firstly,the fundamental principles are illustrated,such as plausible mechanisms of NH_(3) generation from N_(2) and NO_(3)^(−),the apparatus of corresponding electrocatalysis,parameters for evaluation of reaction efficiency,and detection methods of yielding NH_(3).Then,the electrocatalysts for NRR processes are discussed in detail,including pristine MOFs,MOF-hybrids,MOF-derived N-doped porous carbons,single atomic catalysts from pyrolysis of MOFs,and other MOF-related materials.Subsequently,MOF-related NO3RR processes are also listed and discussed.Finally,the existing challenges and prospects for the rational design and fabrication of electrocatalysts from MOFs for electrochemical NH_(3) synthesis are presented,such as the evolution of investigation methods with artificial intelligence,innovation in synthetic methods of MOF-related catalysts,advancement of characterization techniques,and extended electrocatalytic reactions. | Daming Feng Lixue Zhou Timothy J.White Anthony K.Cheetham Tianyi Ma Fengxia Wei | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,11: | 0 |
| 7 | Application of surface plasmon resonance in screening adsorbents and explaining adsorption phenomena using model polymers显示文摘A surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technique was developed as an online screening method to identify effective adsorbents for the peptide NH2-Cys-Thr-Trp-Trp-COOH (CW-4). To validate the SPR technique, several linear polymers containing amino acid residues were synthesized as models of their corresponding adsorbents. SPR screening of all the linear polymers demonstrated that the linear polymer containing phenylalanine residues (PPhe) exhibited the highest affinity for CW-4 among the polymers tested. In accordance with the screening results from SPR, the adsorbent containing phenylalanine (APhe) exhibited the highest adsorption capacity for CW-4. An interesting observation was that the amounts of CW-4 adsorbed on 3 adsorbents were quite small, even though both SPR and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) experiments indicated the presence of interactions between CW-4 and the three polymers. A kinetic analysis performed using SPR technology suggested such a phenomenon was ascribed to the poor stability of the CW-4/polymer complexes; that is, CW-4 associates with the polymers quickly, but it also dissociated quickly. | 8 | Accelerated ion/electron transport kinetics and increased active sites via local internal electric fields in heterostructured VO_(2)–carbon cloth for enhanced zinc-ion storage显示文摘Although the performance of the self-standing electrode has been enhanced for aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs),it is necessary to explore and analyse the deep modification mechanism(especially interface effects).Herein,density functional theory(DFT)calculations are applied to investigate the high-performance cathode based on the VO_(2)/carbon cloth composites with heterostructures interface(H-VO_(2)@CC).The adsorption energy comparisons and electron structure analyses verify that HVO_(2)@CC has extra activated sites at the interface,enhanced electrical conductivity,and structural stability for achieving highperformance AZIBs due to the presence of built-in electric field at the interfaces.Accordingly,the designed self-standing HVO_(2)@CC cathode delivers higher rate capacity,longer-life cyclability,and faster electronic/ion transmission kinetics benefiting from the synergistic effects.The risks of active material shedding and dissolution during the dis/charge process of two cathodes were evaluated via ex-situ ultraviolet–visible(UV–vis)spectrum and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy(ICP-AES)technique.Finally,this investigation also explores the charge storage mechanism of H-VO_(2)@CC through various exsitu and in-situ characterization techniques.This finding can shed light on the significant potential of heterostructures interface engineering in practical applications and provide a valuable direction for the development of cathode materials for AZIBs and other metal-ion batteries. | Ping Luo Wenwei Zhang Wanyue Cai Zhen Huang Gangyuan Liu Chang Liu Shiyu Wang Feng Chen Lixue Xia Yan Zhao Shijie Dong Lu Xia | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,1: | 0 |
